The best things about this CVS are the convenient location and large free parking lot. Yes, it's true, the pharmacy ranges between bad and awful. It's just really, really slow to get anything done at the pharmacy, whether it's dropping off or picking up a prescription. And the area surrounding the pharmacy feels really disorganized and choatic as the other customers waiting for their prescriptions are equally as agitated, irritated, etc. Lines for pick up are really long and you often have to ask to have an additional person work the register. Service is inconsistent as sometimes the person ringing you up will be very friendly and other times you'll have someone else who's really crabby and unhelpful. I can't figure out what the problem is- perhaps their system for filing filled prescriptions needs to be vastly improved as it seems like they always have difficulty locating filled prescriptions. They also don't have a system where they call your name when you're prescription has been filled. So, you constantly have to check with the register which slows down the whole process. Another pet peeve of mine is that they don't ask you if you want a consultation with a pharmacist when you're getting a new prescription filled. One time when I asked for a consultation, the pharmacist just read the packaging insert to me. I tend to leave feeling flustered and stressed. As for the non-pharmacy portions of the store, I find that the shelves are not consistently well stocked. They were out of black hairnets for several weeks and the other day I noticed that they were out of at least 50% of their Christophe hair products. Despite all these issues, I still use the pharamacy here, mostly out of habit and convenience. I just make sure I give myself lots of time as there's always a wait. read more

I was told my prescription would be ready in 30 minutes. I waited one hour; then only 1 of the 2 prescriptions were ready and they told me I had wait another 30 minutes. ridiculous! I highly recommend you go elsewhere or give them a minimum of 24 hours to feel your prescription this place is a joke. read more

Had surgery 2 weeks ago and my wife had my script filled here. Called my doctor today to have my medicine refilled so they faxed the the authorization to CVS. This was at 10am. Called at 3 to make sure it was ready and it was not. Called back at 5 and it still was not ready. Talked to pharmacist and she tells me their fax machine is broken and it will be fixed in 2 hours. Call back to find out the fax machine had been broken for 2 days!!! So my and who knows how many other prescriptions are stuck in their broken fax machine. I am in pain and my doctor only does authorizations during business hours. I will never use CVS again. read more

Terrible pharmacy, they misinformed me on a prescription being available via phone. When I arrived, they told me it was not but that they could give me a small amount of pills for the time being while it was sorted out. Then the pharmacist took that back and debated with me for 20 minutes on why his staff is terrible and he can't help me. Unbelievable! The pharmacists are extremely knowledgable, helpful and courteous. They get my prescriptions filled correctly and on time.

Quite honestly the worst pharmacy I have ever been to in my entire life. The examples of the staff's disregard for customers are too many to enumerate. I have complained three times to corporate about this store, and even received a call from the pharmacy manager, but nothing ever changes - it has been this way for years. As the only major pharmacy in the neighborhood, they are far understaffed and usually overwhelmed, which is exacerbated by the inefficient management. Don't waste your money or your time -- which can easily be over an hour to simply pick up a prescription when they inevitably mess up your order. Stay away. read more

Rude pharmacy staff. I just called to check on a prescription and the person who answered the phone said, "It's been ready for three days, bye" and hung up on me. Whenever I go to pick up a prescription, none of the staff seem like they want to be there at all and everything is disorganized. I'm switching to another pharmacy. read more

This CVS is close to home so I can walk there. It's about as impressive as any other massive chain drugstore in Anywhere, America but it's convenient. I haven't used the pharmacy here, but the staff in general is nicer than average. read more

I really like this cvs. My husband makes fun of me because I look for any excuse to go. The shelves are always well-stocked and they have good products and brands. The pharmacy is good too, but given it's in Brentwood and likely that everyone is Brentwood needs meds, the wait to fill an Rx can be long. But they will text you when your Rx is filled, so you can leave and come back when it's ready. I also wish there was a policy to prevent people from checking out all of their groceries at the pharmacy register- that delays things. They have a great selection of items during the holidays- they have wigs for Halloween, hannukah candles, Xmas cookies and decorations- and I think the items are good quality too. Unhelpful and rude management. I purchased some items online from CVS, but needed to return a few things. I called the hotline number making sure that I could return the items at a store and was told that I could. I tried returning the items twice. The first time the female manager did not know how to do it and the second time I came the male manager told me he could not do it. My biggest issue is both with their attitudes. They seemed so bothered and agitated by the whole ordeal. This is my closest CVS, but I definitely will not be giving them my business anymore. read more

I am a 24 year old Brentwood local who frequents this location of cvs. This evening I went in with a girlfriend of mine to buy a beer- the manager insisted that he wouldn't accept my VERY VALID California identification card. He was very rude & I think this is very uncalled for let alone annoying seeing as I am well over the legal drinking age. read more

Obviously located in a "love to complain" area. People in Brentwood complain about everything. They even take the time to chronicle their problems. I think it keeps couples together. These lawsuit loving residents have a warped view of service. They should go to other CVS locations. That would send them over the edge with more imagined flaws. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because no CVS could ever be 5 stars in my mind (I miss Longs). That being said, I would like to shout out the employees who spend their nights helping insomniacs buy shampoo and toilet paper while remaining pleasant in doing so. So far, all of the employee interactions I've had have been above par. As to the pharmacy, I cannot say. Anyways. This review is based on their photo service...holy ball of fail it sucks!!! I only have myself to blame as I should have known better. I have used their photo service only a few times in a pinch and each time the quality of the prints were absolutely horrendous. Today I was in a pinch and needed to print something quick, fast and in a hurry. I opted to use their online 1 hour prints ordering system. The prints I received were subpar to any photo service I have ever used. I could have had my six year old make a better print on a 5 year old ink jet photo printer. Not only were the prints horrible, they had borders. I ordered 5X7's and they printed them on larger stock with white borders. When I inquired they said that is how they come and I can just cut the borders myself at home...WTF?!?!? Lesson learned, CVS photos SUCK! read more

I've never used the pharmacy so this review is for the remainder of the store only. The selection is pretty big especially for a CVS. The service is usually at best, so-so and can be slow. There is often lines, but they usually are good about calling other checkers. But in general it does feel under staffed. read more

Transferred prescription account to this CVS pharmacy because it was closer to home. What a bad decision. There are too few pharmacy staff to timely and efficiently serve customers. Wait times for calls to staff are useless (10-15 minutes). Staff seem casual about paying attention to customers (personal conversations among each other). Worst worst worst worst. Every time I call in a refill they tell me it'll be ready by a certain day/time. To this day, every time I have gone in there to pick up my prescription on the day/time indicated I end end up standing in line for 30-45 minutes and once I reach the counter they tell me that they can't find any prescription orders for me. I then have to go stand in a long line of other poor souls that were given the same story until some half-minded pseudo-pharmacist fills our orders while we wait there. The process takes no less than 1.5 hours. After I noticed a pattern of this I brought it up by asking the pharmacist why they can't ever get things right, her reply... "tell my manager". These people are all lacking in a major way. Miserable people that hate their job and hate us even more. If you enjoy wasting your time call in your prescription to this CVS. If you are a betting man/woman, let me know, I'll bet anyone 2 to 1 that their order won't be ready when the pharmacy says it will be - 100% serious. Last night, we went to get our flu shots and we encountered an incredibly rude and, frankly, angry pharmacist. I'd called first to see about getting an appointment, but was told to just walk in, so my husband and I did just that around 7PM. After standing in line for ten minutes and overhearing the pharmacist be incredibly rude to the woman ahead of us who was having a problem with her prescription, we finally got to talk to the pharmacist. We told him we were interested in getting flu shots and he asked us why we hadn't made an appointment. We told him we'd called and we were told to just come in. Then he said, "Well, I'm not here. I was supposed to get off an hour ago," and then went on a tirade about how they open at 6AM and that they're busy, etc., etc., and that he was already working overtime, blah blah blah. We told him to forget it and that we'd go to the Walgreens instead, which we did. It took us about ten minutes from start to finish at the Walgreens on Olympic. This was the last time we'll go to the CVS for anything other than toilet paper. It's within walking distance, but I'd rather drive to the Walgreens than deal with the people at this CVS. WORST PHARMACY EXPERIENCE EVER. Let me start by saying the people are pretty nice but clearly there is a significant systems issue with this place. let's be honest. No pharmacy experience is great these days. The lines are long but that's true lots of places. But this is the only place that regularly has seven people waiting around who have already stood in line - sometimes twice - and still are waiting around for prescriptions that were supposed to already be filled. Some of them are even on the phone calling My doctor called in a prescription for me on a Tuesday. 72 hours later it still isn't ready. At a 24 hour pharmacy. Take that together with the fact that they always give you a wait time that is an incredible underestimate. Five minutes to process my new insurance? That was 30 minutes ago. Prescription will be ready in an hour? That was 3 hours ago. Anyways I don't know that other CVS pharmacies are that much better but I'm sure going to try and find out. Can't be much worse. read more

OK.....so I used to hate this place like some others do. In the last year I've had to go here several times. It's close to my house. In the last year the improvement has been HUGE! Pharmacy is 1000% better. That's thousand, not one hundred. The whole store is cleaner, pharmacy is much roomier and has much more pleasant and competent pharmacists too. The rest of the store is fine. Some items out of stock at times. The checkout is still slow but much better than before. The staff seems more pleasant, helpful and efficient. No, not all of them are competent, but many more than in the past. My experience with the pharmacy via phone is MUCH improved as well. So I guess I'm grading them on a curve. They're getting better and sometimes that's enough. Hope they continue the improvement. read more
