This is the worst CVS I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot. 1) Always a mess. 2) Understaffed. 3) Employees seem miserable. 4) Photo print machines almost never work (I spent an hour choosing and prepping photos off my phone, just to find out afterwards that the machine I was on hasn't been working). I'm giving two stars instead of one because manager Jose was apologetic and awesome, gave me a workable fix, which meant I still needed to put another bunch of time in, but at least I left with what I came for. He was a beacon of light in an otherwise sad place. read more

I tried to have my prescription transferred to CVS as they are a preferred pharmacy on my health plan. I requested the transfer on their website and then received a confirmation e=mail from them. However when I tried to call them several times I was put on hold forever without speaking to a live person once. Finally on the third try I talked to someone who just said they had not received my prescription and to try later. I switched to Vons pharmacy which has much better customer service and I was able to talk to someone right away. read more

Came on a Wednesday around 4pm and there was a line of at least 4 people consistently. They had cashiers consistently too, though, so didn't take more than a few minutes to get rung up. I the gal who helped me at the register was new, because my extrabucks weren't working and she started over several times before asking for help. Then I was told by another employee that the reason the coupon wasn't working was the type of item I was buying. Had to go pick something else out and get back in line. They've gone through some restructuring and renovations recently, so not all the sale items have been marked consistently the last few times I've come in. It's kind of a pain to not know what is discounted... making this a less-than-great location. read more

My partner was stopping by CVS at 6 pm on a weekday to pick up items at the pharmacy and in the store. Outside the entrance, a seemingly mentally unstable male made threatening comments and then followed them into the store and continued to harass them with aggressive and uncomfortable stares from an inappropriate distance. While a very nice pharmacist stepped in to escort my partner back to the car, CVS needs to have a regular security as I have experienced a very similar experience there on my last visit. read more

As someone that frequents this location every few days, I'm terribly disappointed and disturbed by my experience tonight. I had an unpleasant maskless customer experience here. A customer was wearing a see-through mesh mask. I complained to the cashier as I was checking out and she didn't seem too concerned and asked if I wanted a manager. I said yes. The woman that came over (supervisor) told me there was nothing she could do because "she is wearing a mask." I obviously was irritated at the lack of effort to keep customers safe IN A GD PHARMACY and asked for her name and that I will be making a complaint. She offered for a manager to come over and I agreed. In the meantime the mesh mask woman was checking out. As she was leaving (initially no manager around and no employees present actually *helping* to handle a situation brewing for 15 minutes), I said to her that it's very inconsiderate to others to wear an ineffective mask. Well she flipped out, pulled off her "mask," lunged at me screaming how I've "got problems." Meanwhile the manager walks up, says nothing. The manager, two cashiers, and the supervisor (FOUR EMPLOYEES) stood by watching and said nothing as this woman assaulted me and walked out the store. Afterward, the manager DID inform the other 3 employees that customers with ineffective masks like that can (should) be asked to put on an appropriate mask. HE WAS ONE THAT SAW THE MASK, SAW HER TAKE IT OFF AND SCREAM AT ME, AND DID NOTHING. Stay away from this CVS. A PHARMACY should NOT make people risk their health to get health needs met. First of all, they advertise being a 24 hour pharmacy which they are NOT. They are SLOW, seem disorganized, and whenever I have gone there they take about six times longer than necessary to complete the transaction. There is always and issue: medication can't be found, they can't figure out the correct insurance information. There is no sense of urgency or respect for the value of their customer's time. Also I go there to get my Reduced fat Skippy creamy peanut butter. Please keep my plant buttery in stock too. Ralph's only carries the regular Skippy. I don't need a groundhog to tell me whether spring is coming; my nose can do a better job at that. Successive sneezes five seconds apart topped with the itchy feeling of having something fuzzy permanently resides in my nasal cavity only mean that old man winter has put in his three weeks notice. It also means that it is time to stock up on benadryl and claritin. For a drug store, it is easier to find any kind of candies than to find medicine. CVS has evolved from a neighborhood pharmacy to a larger size 7 Eleven...that also dispenses drugs. It has the price to match the convenience. However, it is still cheaper than having my nose surgically removed. I now have enough antihistamine to last me through a histaminal armageddon. read more

I wonder if we can get "hell" to appear as a key word in the Review Highlights? Lord knows, there is not a more fitting word to describe this CVS. "Hell? Isn't that a little harsh, Amanda?" In short, no. But I'll justify my disdain with context and elaboration. The store and the pharmacy are both poorly run. The checkout line and the pharmacy line (which could warrant a review itself) routinely run slower than one would ever imagine possible. The parking lot is a zoo and I'd venture a guess that at least 20% of the lot is filled by people who are not patronizing the CVS. If you insist on coming here, expect a clusterf#ck from the moment you enter their property. At the very least, if you expect it, there's only room for a pleasant surprise. To be clear, the pharmacy is my greatest qualm. I know they probably have too much business for this operation; there's no other reasonable explanation for the hellacious waits and endless lines. However knowing this, they still fail to report accurate wait times for pick up and they still manage to make AT LEAST 1 in 3 customers go on a furious, childlike rampage. I've seen more break downs at this CVS than the casting line for America's Next Top Model. "Why all the outrage, unhappy people of Brentwood?" Because the pharmacists and their team have next to no bedside manner. They take their sweet time no matter how long the line (I've actually heard them say to each other "don't look at the line!" like it's the sun). They treat people poorly and routinely act like doing their job is akin to doing a favor for the customers. It's especially grating when we've all been waiting a VERY long time - almost always much longer than initially quoted. My last nugget of advice for this pharmacy? Fill the Xanax prescriptions quickly... Maybe then we can all have a slightly smoother ride on the train to hell- I mean- in line to pick up our prescriptions. read more

The cashiers are awesome here. Love them! ....the pharmacy though- woo-wee wait times are atrocious and the pharmaceutical staff seems to lack brain power sometimes. Prescriptions that are already packaged and ready to go have taken 45 minutes to go from one crate to another. I'm to the point that I hate CVS, and my goal is to not shop here anymore than I absolutely have to. The Good: CVS is open 24 hours. As a vegan I appreciate that I can eat their Absolutely Divine dark chocolate bars and they sell Lorna Doone cookes, which are also vegan. The Bad: I'm one of those silly customers that actually tries to help companies improve so they can make more money and make my life more convenient. I made the mistake of trying to email CVS to request that this store refrigerate 1 of the 3 sizes of Ginger Ale they sell. But could I email CVS? No, because it would make way too much sense to be able to email a company when I'm on their web page!!! Your options on the CVS website are a phone number from 8 to 11 pm EST because screw people like us in California. I called anyway knowing voicemail would be way too much of a modern advance to hope for with "living in the dark ages" CVS. 1-888-607-4287 does not work, nothing, not a dial tone, not a dialing sound, just silence. They also having a mailing address where you can mail your comments to them in Rhode Island. I'm surprised they don't offer Carrier Pigeon! Clearly they REALLY want to hear what their customers have to say by making it SO convenient to contact them. So I walk to the front of the store with my hot Ginger Ale. There are 5 people in line including me. I've seen two employees wandering the aisles at 10:15 pm. There is the female manager who is doing nothing, always looks angry and frankly scares me and one check out person. As the customers become frustrated, the angry manager opens a line and starts moving people through at a record pace. Rosy personality? Uh, no. Fast and efficient, yes. Thank you, I'll take it. The pharmacy ... they always get my prescriptions done in a timely manner, but I feel so sorry for them. They are the most over-worked, tired looking bunch of people I've ever seen. When I see them, I think "indentured servant." Time before last I was in, a pharmacist was working and was clearly sick with a cold. Good God, CVS, let these people have a day off! I'd rather put up with the illness than visit a CVS. Yes, it's sad but there must be a universal conspiracy to offer bad service and WORK AS SLOW AS YOU POSSIBLY CAAAANNNN!! All CVS stores are horrible. Period. This is the worst. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes in line, even if there is only one person in front of you. If there is a sale on soup or Depends, forget it. The old man in front of you will argue with the cashier, who is relentless, for 15 minutes over $0.25. On major holidays and weekends, customers will run into you as if you were invisible. One lady actually "cut me off" as we turned into the main aisle, stopped in front of me, and kicked me in the shin. She then proceeded to explain that she had a "family emergency." I don't think that excuses assualt. The selection is dismal and the prices listed on the shelves never match the prices at checkout. I hate it here. And I hate it even more because it is the local CVS. The closest one. Which forces me to go here everytime I need pantyhose, which is once a week. Oh, and the pharmacy sucks. This CVS is definitely not as horrendous as most people make it sound, but it's also not very good, either. I'd give it a 2.5, probably, but I'll round up 'cuz I'm feeling kind today. It's often overcrowded, but that's a byproduct of its location near a very busy part of West LA. The shelves are usually marginally well-stocked if a little disheveled from all the grubby handed consumers moving things around and the poor staff trying to keep up. The pharmacy is very hit or miss. I've had great experiences at it where I was promised something in 30 minutes and it was done in 10; and I've had mind-numbing experiences there, as well, where they gave us the wrong dosage of a medicine. It's really weird, and it must have something to do with who is on staff at a particular time, but I haven't been here enough to try to track it. The check-out person helped me find my CVS account by searching by email, which I thought was pretty thorough on her part. I liked that. I wish the stupid CVS Customer Care card online system worked better, but that's not a reflection of this particular store, either. Parking is pretty easy. It's located on the north side of San Vicente just west of Bundy. It's smaller than some CVS locations in the valley, but similar size to others in the city. read more

I was in the camp of "incompetent" "raging, infectious stupidity" when it came to rating CVS until I really needed some help recently. (Why was I so desperate to seek help here? see my review of Brent-Air Pharmacy for insight...) My needs are complicated. Medicare RX and Medicare Part B and Medicare supplemental insurances are all involved. I've been "working" with insurance companies since the Republicans' great idea of bribing seniors for votes with Medicare Part D - (aside - NOT paid for, adding hugely to deficit, which doesn't matter if Republicans are in power - remember Cheney? "Deficits don't matter." But.. pardon the digression) I am keenly aware of the morass that is the bureaucracy of insurance companies which are intent on making it more confusing so as to cause consumers to throw hands up in air (and maybe even vomit) so they just forget about it and pay up. I used to blame CVS - and I have had very bad experiences in the past with staff here at this location (oh, I could tell you stories!) but early last month, I worked with two staff members and the pharmacist - who took nearly an hour of his time to help run through hoops on the telephone with the insurance company to get the discount that I am due. (at my urging) (Word to the wise: if the insurance company through the computer says your med is not covered, don't buy it. Ask the pharmacist or staff member to please telephone an agent. If the staff says they can't, ask for the pharmacist to do it and explain that you know it is covered. About 100% of the time I've done this, I've come away with whatever $$$ initially I was told I had to pay taken off the top. It works to keep at it. Even if you get an agent on the line who says it is not covered - call back. Believe me, if you're tenacious, you'll get an agent who will look to see how you are miraculously covered for a drug that a couple of other people had just denied you. It all has to do with codes and applying one that will "work.") Meantime, kudos to the new CVS - if you're courteous, they're courteous. Yeah, it takes a long time if you wait in line, but it's worth it in the long run. I avoided sucking up to having to go to CVS for 3 years, but after being ripped off by Brent-Air for years (and still trying to recover money they owe me), I'm glad I spent the time. read more

Get your prescriptions filled elsewhere if possible. I have been coming here for a few months and am consistently disappointed by long lines and confused cashiers. My experience today, however, was exceptionally bad. I went in to pick up an asthma inhaler, which typically costs $4 in copay. Cashier Diane B. told that I owe $109.41 for the inhaler. I told her that this cannot be correct, and asked how to proceed to resolve the issue. In response, she said: "There is no issue. This is not our problem. That's how much it costs." I'm still in the process of figuring out what went wrong and how I can get my inhaler. I am totally blown away, though, at how incredibly rude this person- whose job it is to help and provide service to customers- was to me. I also witnessed Diane raising her voice angrily at an elderly patient who had requested to speak with a pharmacist and was confused about where to go. It made me pretty sad. read more

They've been my pharmacy for the past 2+ years and I have never had an issue with incorrect orders, lost prescriptions, lack of understanding, etc. My only issue is with the long pick-up line, but lets face it, it's usually not them..it's the people picking up their meds. I think next to the restaurant service industry, working the pharmacy counter is the second worst job. This is for the pharmacy. I dropped my prescription for strong cough medicine while I'm super sick and just want to get home and in bed. I waited for fourty minutes watching them tell everyone they're super busy so I assumed it was taking longer. I'm sitting right next to the counter in eyesight. Finally I get up to ask them if my prescription will be done soon and she tells me it's been done for a long time. She says she called my name on the intercom which is so quiet and my head is so stuffed up I apparently didn't hear it. What perplexes me is I'm sitting right there, clearly waiting. They couldn't say my name out loud instead of over a crappy intercom system? Or noticed I'm the only one sitting there waiting for my prescription?? Horrible. read more

Oh dear. What can I say about this CVS? It's ALWAYS BUSY! So busy that I now only come here when I absolutely need something or else I'm going to die. And even then, that doesn't guarantee that you'll get it, and then, you will actually, really, die. Anyways. DO NOT EVER GET YOUR PRESCRIPTION FILLED HERE UNLESS YOU PLAN ON PICKING IT UP BEFORE 9AM. Otherwise, you will end up waiting in line for about 30-40 mins (minimum!). One good thing I do have to say, the employees at the pharmacy are pretty nice. They once filled a prescription wrong for me, and they were really nice and quick about fixing it (even after I took it home and figured it out a week later.) If they weren't so darn busy all the time, I'd definitely be there more often, but I've tried so many times to like this place, but I JUST. CAN'T. DO. IT. Go to Pharmaca down the street attached to Vicente Foods, it'll save your life (literally), and you might even be able to pick up a nice gift, too. Haha. read more

By far the WORST pharmacy in the WORLD! This place is so messed up that there should be a zero star option. Here are just some reasons why: - ALWAYS a long line. WHY don't you hire more people? - UNFRIENDLY staff, or at least the ones I've dealt with - NEVER have prescription ready on time - ALWAYS have something out of stock Basically, I come here once a month for 2 prescriptions. They are always out of at least one. When I ask why, their response is "because it's a popular prescription" so why don't you ORDER MORE?!!!! Now I have to make another trip and wait in another line. There was another time they claimed they never received my prescription?! How does that happen? Then to top it off, when you get up to the drop off line, if one of the snooty girls are entering something in, they don't even say hi or acknowledge you! It's like you shouldn't step up unless invited to. PUT YOUR CRAP TO THE SIDE and help me first. Basic customer service. WHY do I continue coming here? Because it's the closest one to my house but May is my breaking month. If they screw it up once more - I'm out for good. IF YOU HAVE ANY ALTERNATIVE OPTION(S), GO WITH IT. DO NOT COME HERE! I never write reviews but in this case, I think it's necessary. I've been coming here for years and the customer service continues to decline. Calling in to renew prescriptions is such an ordeal since the pharmacy staff has zero phone etiquette and doesn't seem to care less about their customers. One pharmacist even hung up on me in the middle of me (politely) asking questions regarding my refill. I called back to speak to a manager to have him be aware of how his staff is treating customers and he completely disregarded me - mumbled "sorry about that" and hung up. Reading through other reviews, I can see this is a huge issue here. Something needs to be done about this! read more

The pharmacy is under staffed, typically has a long line, and feels like you are at the DMV. They have a very frustrating process where if you come to pick up your prescription and your insurance doesn't correctly process you have to then go back to another line for them to help you. My second pharmacy experience was just fine. Called in the refill, gave them a day and then called the automated line to confirm the rx was ready. Got there, picked up and got out in quickly. I bring Calvin with me and there are two great spots to tie him up when I go in the store...1) by the pole out front on the grass and 2) by the tree on the other side of the trash can. I've done some non-pharmacy shopping and that was fine, too. Got some good deals on alcohol plus another 10% with my cvs card. . read more

The best CVS I've been to... They have Comodynes makeup remover wipes, which I love! They also carry the full line of Burt's Bees products, as well as Alba, and other organic bath and body products. The staff here is super helpful and friendly even if it's 2a.m. and I'm drunk and need help looking for something! read more

I'll write more later but I do find it both amusing and a bit annoying that cvs asks me if I want a bag for ten cents but then gives me a 24 inch paper receipt with 18 dollars of coupons on it for free. As I toss the receipt in the trash on the way out the door I have to chuckle at the whole concept. They also tend to be understaffed up front which is why they get a three and not a four star. The main reason why I liked this drug store when I first came here was because it was a 5 minute walk from my place. Since then, they've made it even better and it's my drug store of choice, even though there are other drug stores within walking distance. They've remodeled the entire inside, and I like the new layout much better. Everything is easy to find, and the choice of where everything is intuitive. The selection of goods is wide; you can pretty much find anything you need here. I've been known to pop in when I need packing tape or screwdrivers (the tool & the drink) since they carry both hardware supplies and alcohol. They close alcohol sales early, so don't wait unitl after midnight to get your booze. Prices are usually in line with other stores, and they do have sales and coupons from time to time that can help you save $. If you need photos developed, they can take care of you. They even have kiosks set up where you can bring your digital camera in and see how the photos will come out. You only pay once you print them. For the most part the pharmacy is efficient. They usually have enough pharmacists and clerks during the busy times, so one never has to wait more than 3-4 people in line. Many times during off-peak hours there is no wait. To top it off, they are open 24 hours. If you live in the area, Longs Pharmacy is a great place to patronize for your everyday needs. read more

This review is regarding the CVS Pharmacy at 11941 San Vicente Blvd. I have been shopping my prescriptions at this pharmacy for over 10 years. Yesterday (1011/19) I went to pick up my prescription and was told it is double the price ($84.00) and is for 50 days not 30 days. I spoke to David Carerra who is supposedly the manager of the Pharmacy Department and was working at the drop off window. He decided he was not going to fill this prescription for the usual price. He decided on his own to override the prescription from my Opthalmologist and give me 1/2 the month's supply. He read in my file that the I pay $42.00 for my usual monthly prescription. But I am being charged $84.00. He did not call the insurance company to see why it is now double the price. David Carerra is the rudest individual I have encountered in 10 years at CVS. I will probably move to another pharmacy and leave CVS after over 10 year of shopping with them. The Pharmacy Department is disorganized, the employees are constantly rushed and service is terrible. Terrible, terrible, terrible pharmacy. And, on another note I can't find a telephone number and address for the corporate offices to report the store. Why is that they only send surveys when they think the customer is happy with service. read more

To summarize - why do I dislike CVS? - LONG WAIT FOR RX - INEFFICIENT - LONG LINES I hate going to pick up prescriptions from CVS, whether it's this particular location or others. The lines for pickup/drop-off are usually long, and if you are waiting for a prescription to be filled after you drop it off, be prepared to wait AT LEAST half an hour. On multiple occasions, a prescription refilled online will NOT be ready at the location. So once again, be ready to wait in line to a) discuss this, and after sorting it out, you then get to b) wait an additional half hour (or leave and come back when the prescription is ready) WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Maybe you'd suggest I call in advance to check if the prescription is ready, even if I do confirm it online? However, it usually takes a long time to reach a live person on the phone, so that's not a sufficient solution either. WHAT AN INEFFICIENT SYSTEM! YOU SUCK, CVS!!! I've had no better experiences at Rite-Aid or other larger chain pharmacies.
