This CVS is always well stocked, clean and with a staff that is ready to help. It is our main store for over-the-counter medical, first aid, hair products, cosmetics and candy. The front of the store is ready with seasonal items you might need, like swimming in summer, 4th of July party items, Easter stuff and all major holidays. There is a pharamacy in back which seems to do a brisk business but I think their drug prices are somewhat higher than others offer. Oh, and for that last minute food, school supplies, magazines, beverages, foods, ice cream, etc. this is your place. read more

The pharmacy techs and pharmacists are almost all very nice and very good with customers. I went in today and ran into the first person I've come across who works here with a bad attitude. There's one girl who works in the pharmacy that is awesome. She is always very cheerful and offers terrific customer service. She was working the window when I walked in....unfortunately she left the window to go above and beyond for the elderly gentleman in front of me. So, I get the really young girl with a terrible attitude. She seemed upset that I had the nerve to come get my medications. Didn't see her name tag, but she has long dark hair that she had pulled back. Very poor customer service, very poor attitude. Next time I'll wait until this little girl goes away from the window before I get in line. She is literally the only one there with such a bad attitude. read more

Went last night and had to go thru the pharmacy to get the good cold medicine. The ladies were super friendly and unlike some other CVS' just getting some cold medicine was quick and easy. Which I really appreciate seeing how I'm already feelin like crap and just want to go home. I stop by here after work from time to time to get makeup and such. Look for sales and extra buck deals. It makes going to CVS worth it. Knocking down a star because there is always a damn line at checkout. read more

I usually visit CVS after work, which seems like a popular time for other people to stroll in. So if I can make note of this, why wouldn't the store? The fact that each time I go, there is a line at least 8 people long waiting to be checked out by ONE checker, sometimes two is ridiculous. If they didn't have super cheap snacks for the kiddos, I would consider getting my meds delivered by mail. read more

This place sucks. My experience is mainly with pharmacy. They seriously have never gotten my medications right. I'll call them in personally and when I go to pick them up they aren't ready and I need to wait! This has happened four times! Four! Not impressed with the girl who is behind the counter every single time I'm there either. Once I came for the minute clinic. I smears the only one in line. I signed in and sat down. The pa or whatever she was had the door open directly next to me. She heard me sign in as I was talking to my husband. As soon as I sat down she came out, shut the door and said she's going to lunch, she'd see me in an hour. Seeing me would've taken less than twenty minutes. I know because I've been here before and I wasn't even bad off. You might be asking yourself why I keep going there. I don't. This place sucks. read more

The people who work the cash registers here are all very nice. I never have to wait in line for extensive periods of time and they are very polite and kind. The prices here are slightly more expensive than rite aid, but it's still affordable. I will be coming back frequently. read more

This is your typical CVS. It's never crowded with ample parking which makes it easy to get in and out quickly. There's a sale isle against the back wall which is great for $1 munches and snacks. The staff here at this location is always extremely friendly and helpful. I like to shop here simply to avoid the hassle and hectic atmosphere of other stores. But buyers beware, you do pay more for this convenient and pleasant experience when compared to a volume discount mart. read more

Very friendly staff. Always greeting customers and very helpful. I got a coupon for a dollar off soup and it was on sale for a dollar. So free. They also pass out candy on holidays. Danette is the best manager. I am treated like family there. Yes it can be high priced, but occasionally their sales are too good to pass up. I left town for three weeks and they notuced. I just called and the pharmacist working was so rude, I asked if I could get my prescription filled there instead of driving down to the Chula vista location. "well we close in 3 min so by the time you get here we will be closed" talk about customer service! I run a business and deal with people every day, that lady was one of the rudest people, just because shes a pharmacist she thinks she can act better then other people. It's rare that a visit to pick up prescription refills at this particular pharmacy goes smoothly. Oftentimes, after I've received a call to tell me they're ready, I find that only some of them are ready and I have to wait anyway, or I can only pick up some of them and have to come back another day. I've had minor prescription changes in the past (for example, the same dosage but in twice as many pills at half the previous dosage each; same medicine but with a different pill appearance and packaging, etc.) and I've never been informed by the staff. In one case, I was taking twice the prescribed dose because I wasn't informed of the change. Thankfully I caught the problem early, and it wasn't a medication that would cause major problems if slightly overdosed. On at least one occasion I triple-checked the number of pills dispensed and found I was given too many. Before I decided to start counting them myself, I've found that I run out of various things at different times, so I have to wonder if the miscounting happens more often than I realize. Sure, being a responsible patient means monitoring one's own prescriptions, but what if I were elderly and didn't have the abilities to double-check? It's little errors like this pharmacy has made that could end up causing big problems - deadly problems - for some patients. This pharmacy is located relatively close to home, so it's been convenient.. and despite the problems I've been too lazy to switch. Today's prescription circus was the last - I plan to transfer my prescriptions to a better pharmacy. UPDATE: I just now had a chance to verify my most recent fill of prescriptions, and as happened last time I was over-dispensed on one of them by one pill. I know it's not a big deal in the short term, but this doesn't paint the pharmacy in a good light. What if they made a mistake on a more critical medication? read more

I live within a mile of CVS on El Cajon Blvd. and will never shop there again, iffy neighborhood and out of most of the specials. I love this store on MG, the clerks are always super friendly and helpful. One young man showed me how to use the coupon machine so I could save more money at the check out. Another CVS pharmacy replaced one of my prescriptions with a comparable one, resulting in an allergic reaction. I came to this pharmacy to fill the RX I needed as a result of that allergic reaction, and to fill my original prescription. Well, they didn't have it in stock so the pharmacist advised he would order and fill it for me. I came in today to pick it up and they never filled it. Now my prescription is a few days expired so they can't fill it and I need it for tomorrow. Needless to say I will NEVER use CVS pharmacy again. read more

This is for the pharmacy dept. First both the store manager and the pharmacists manager were very helpful and customer oriented. For the most part the rest of the pharmaceutical staff were very good, except one. I have been going here for more than 20 yrs. Let me describe her. She is short and stocky with dark hair. She never smiles or is friendly with the customer's. Most people who come in are not feeling well or had just left their doctors office. Therefore they shouldn't have to put up with her poor attitude. It's quite obvious to me she doesn't like her job. It seems to me that she doesn't care about anyone or their concerns. I think the place would be alot nicer if she sought emploment elsewhere. Her body language and facial expressions speaks volume. read more

Too bad zero stars isn't an option..This CVS location has horrendous customer service, funny because I thought these stores cater to customers. Let's start with the cashier Tiara who lied to my face regarding a policy that CVS does not have regarding alcohol. When she realized I wasn't going to take her lie and leave (she pointed to a printed policy that had nothing to do with alcohol purchases) she called for the manager on duty, Christy. Christy has absolutely NO customer service skills. She was rude and had a horrible attitude when talking to me in front of other customers. After she was done talking without hearing my response she simply walked away from me. They say "Good People are Hard to Find" but I say CVS on Friars you can do a whole lot better than those two. read more

Went in today to pick up a prescription I have been taking for years. I noticed the price was a lot less than what it usually is. When I asked the man (Julien) why it was so much less. He gave me a huge attitude saying I would need to talk to my insurance about it. I asked to see my prescription and realized it was not the same name as the one I usually take. He then tried to tell me it IS the same one and that I've been taking for over a year. I sweet younger girl working there checked on the computer for me and explained that all the ingredients are the same. I asked the man if they just didn't have my normal prescription and that's why they were giving me the generic brand? He straight up said "I don't know" and before I could say anything else he asks the younger girl to take over because we have more questions.... He was extremely rude and was talking to my husband and I like we are idiots. I know what my prescriptions are and I got no notification via email that they would be filling my normal prescription w a generic brand. I probably wouldn't have cared if he would have simply, been polite, done his job, and answered the questions we had about it and explained the situation. He had no reason to be so rude to us. read more
