I have shopped at this CVS many times. Each and every time they seems very understaffed with crazy long lines. Customer service is usually less than desired. Went in to pick up two prescriptions. They asked if I wanted a flu shot, I asked how long. The lady told me between 5 to 10 minutes. 1/2 hour later I asked out loud to the entire group if anyone could give me my shot so I could get out of there, I'm a caregiver to my husband so leaving him alone is dangerous. I never would have done this if it was going to take this long. I asked if I could come back at a less busy time and I got chastised as if yelling at me in front of a lot of people would hush me up. I tried to tell them I'm not angry I just have to go cuz I couldn't leave my husband alone this long, they kept saying they had no control over the busy pharmacy and they were very sorry, but the way the kept saying that was anything but sorry. I said I'm not trying to bust your chops I just have to go. It's like they really wanted to be angry at me, embarrass me in front of all of those people. I didn't care this wasn't the point, I'm worried what's happening at home and these petty people seem to think it's about them. Everything I said was some type of attack towards them, that's how they took it. That was never my intention and I kept apologizing for any misinterpretation, I just needed to go home. Finally the pharmacy tech gave me my shot, thank goodness. I tried to explain to him in private what exactly I am looking at home. He also couldn't get past his own feelings of anger so I felt dejected. Imagine trying to explain to a bunch of kids why but they can't get past their personal hurt as if this was personal. I'm sad that professionalism is no longer something in play, now we have to play nice even if it means my husband lays waiting for me to come home and feed him or possibly pick him up off the floor. We sure don't want to hurt the feelings of the pharmacy techs. As I said all I did was raise my voice so the entire pharmacy could hear me when I asked if anyone knew how long before I would be getting my flu shot. I tried so hard to explain I could easily come back but they took it to another level. This place works like a well greased wheel when it comes to passive aggressive behavior. I thought I'd found my new pharmacy. I was wrong. This makes me sad. Maybe they could all get some counseling on time management. read more

We called in looking for a prescription and we're thankful to hear the voice of what would prove to be a savior, named Zach. We've searched the greater San Diego and Orange County for a certain prescription drug and the other pharmacies were giving us the runaround. Horrible Experience I shopped here today & had horrible customer service at the register. I was helped by a cashier named Diego & he seemed like he did not want to help me & I felt very unwelcomed. He snatched the money out of my hand & when handing me my change he did not look at me (no eye contact & usually the polite thing to do is to let the customer know how much change thru are receiving but that did not happen). After I was done paying he took the receipt & just put it on top of the bag & turned & started to walk away like I was wasting his time but I had to ask (which I don't think I should have) can you put it in the bag & while he was doing so gave attitude. Horrible service & the pharmacy area is better organized & more friendlier. Also, there used to be greeting when you walk into the store but that is gone & the staff behind the cash registers are just standing around when there are no customers, seems like they are bored. The store needs better politeness & friendlier staff to make people feel welcomed cause it is horrible to leave a store & when you feel that you were not welcomed. EXPIRED MEDICINE This pharmacy just charged me $400 for my Tretinoin prescription tand gave me a tube that will expire in just over 2 months from now! It should expire about 2 YEARS from now... Just WOW. RUDE STAFF - JOSH When I called to ask for fresh medicine, I first had to hold for 10 minutes before speaking with someone. It was a rude man named Josh. He said he couldn't do anything to help me and if I wanted even a shot at getting help I would have to come back next week when the pharmacy manager was in. He had no idea what the pharmacy managers hours were and refused to look them up for me. LOOOONG LINES Incredibly long lines almost every time I've ever been in here. Horrible customer service. They dont care about their members. They don't even say sorry your medication was lost let see how we can do. Instead they just act completely rude and literally say its out of our control once you're prescription is shipped. When I requested my medication be shipped i didn't have a say in WHO was delivering it, so why am i being held responsible if the shipping carrier THEY chose lost my medication? They were not even being helpful when my insurance company rep was on the phone with them saying "you don't have anything in place for your members if the medication is lost? You can't reverse the claim for our member?" The Pharmacist in charge and the tech just literally said "no we dont. It out of our hands and she is responsible if it gets lost" Horrible customer service. They take a really rude tone with you knowing your frustrated for not receiving your medication. They really make it known they don't care about their customers. They were just wanting to get through their Saturday at work as fast as possible. This review is for their curbside pickup only (and probably more the app/website, than the store itself). Their in store experience is always great. I'm giving it two stars only because I saved $10. I ordered through their site and it said my order would be ready at 4pm. I arrived a little early and texted "here" as instructed, and got a reply that my order was still in process. I noticed that the app updated with an ETA of 4:15. I live close so I was going to run home and then got a text that an associate was on their way to meet me at 3:47. I waited outside for another 15 minutes and no one came. I finally went into the store and they said they were waiting for me to update something on my order, even though I had already updated it on the app. With all the time spent waiting, I could have just went into the store. I'm not sure why I got a text that they were coming out when they most certainly did not. I would not do curbside again, unless I got another significant coupon. read more

I would give it 0 stars of it could. Customer service is absolutely awful. The branch that we usually use to fill prescriptions didn't have the medication for my daughter so they sent it to another location but neglected to tell us which one. I gave them a call to figure out where to go to pick up the medication and after being on hold for 37 minutes, on the phone, they disconnected the call. I have been waiting at the branch now for 45 minutes for them to process the insurance, which they already had on file. Will never again use their pharmacy. read more

I usually love CVS pharmacies. I've been to many across the country. But this location's pharmacy is soooo bad. The wait times are absolutely ridiculous - both in person and the phone hold times. And the staff isn't particularly welcoming. For example, I was put on hold on a Saturday night and after 25 minutes I hung up and walked a mile to the CVS. The place was dead. There were 2 other customers there, but a decent number of pharmacy workers. Yet I was told it'd be 1 hour if I waited in person even though this was a common prescription. I'm standing there in pain with a freshly broken hand and they can't get it filled quicker when there are 3 customers waiting on a dead Saturday night???? I know nothing about pharmacies, but I know for a fact this never happens at the many other CVS's I've been to. It's usually 15min max unless they are jam packed with customers. So I went home. It's now Sunday morning and as I type this, I've been on hold for 20 minutes. Maybe it's a management problem, but this pharmacy should not be allowed to bear the CVS brand name. Icing on the cake: 2 weeks ago my friend picked up her prescription there. She got home.... they gave her the WRONG MEDICINE!!! Her prescription was for migraine meds and she got something completely unrelated! I've never heard of such incompetency. read more

Basically everything Glory F said, and in addition to that, they lost my husband's prescription and left me with no recourse. I dropped off his prescription April 24th, and returned later that day only to find out they hadn't filled the prescription because they couldn't understand the doctor's handwriting. They didn't even call me to clarify! They told me they'd call the doctor during business hours. So I left and waited an entire week and returned May 1st to pick up. They pulled up my husband's record and still the prescription hadn't been filled. I told them to just return my prescription so I could fill it at a competent pharmacy. I was told to line up again at the drop off line so someone else could help. When I got to speak with someone from drop off, that's when I was informed they had lost my husband's prescription and left me with no recourse. read more

I stood in at the counter for like 5 minutes before he lazily walked over to ring up my purchases. Barely mumbled a word at me and ended up tossing my card towards me after I checked out. Although the stuff at CVS is usually more or less friendly, my experience with CVS was absolutely horrible, and I decided not to get prescription drugs from them anymore. A while after picking up one prescription from this CVS, I began to get robo calls, sometimes at very inconvenient times, i.e. when I was still sleeping. I called this local CVS and they told me I had to call Corporate CVS, although it was the local store that had asked for my number in the first place. The only thing they would do is turn off this one prescription. But then the darn robot called me again, and even though I already blocked the number on my phone, it left a message on my voicemail, which is annoying. I think I will avoid CVS in general, and this store in particular, since they haven't informed me about their Spammy robot calls I was going to receive once they put my number in their system. Hint: There's a new pharmacy just a block away! read more

Go to cvs mainly for pharmacy. I have auto refills so I get a text alert when my prescription is ready. There's usually not a long wait to pick it up. Recently I had to update my insurance. There was a little hiccup and I had to go to cvs three days in a row to fix the insurance thing. Anyway, staff was all helpful and nice about it. read more

Today I came in to use a few coupons I had. One of the coupons I had was for $3 off but only $2.28 was taken off. I asked the girl at the register, Farrah, why. She got a bit of an attitude and said she did not know why. She got another woman, who I had seen in the cosmetics section to help. That woman had her hair up in a bun with a white bandana. She said "I'll let you have something for a couple cents." I said, that's nice but there's nothing in the store worth a few cents, and I just wanted it done the normal way. She said that she knew that and told me to buy something over a few cents from "her section" the makeup section, and pay the difference, and I said, "why would I do that?" It's like she just wanted me to pay more, and from her section. I was not upset, I just wanted this to be a normal transaction and to get my question answered. She went off on me, raising her voice and making a scene. I went up to the register again after switching out for a different color of one of the products (she voided the transaction earlier) and when I came back a guy was at the register. I told the him about the situation, he got a blond haired woman at the register to help me. She got really frustrated that I did not understand her explanation of why the register would do that with the coupon, I did not understand because I had never seen it do anything like that before. She went off on me and started yelling, I told her I did not want to complete the transaction. She kept making a scene so I did purchase the items so it could be over with. She then took my receipt off to a back room. I started crying. I told her to please give me my receipt so I could just go when she got back. She gave me the receipt, after calling me a few names. I told her I was offended and left the store. I've never seen so many employees in a store who don't know how to act right. They, especially the manager, who the blond haired woman was, should be able to keep their cool when a customer is just asking a question. It was absolutely crazy. read more

like most of you out there i have been shopping at cvs for a long time, and every time i shop there i try to make my purchase count. to do that i like to rack up the most cvs extra bucks possible at each purchase by selecting specific products in specific quantities that are on sale that week. so i can use them like cash on a future cvs shopping trip. its not only fun but it saves me money. but sometimes when i havent read the small print or have confused the products that are included in a sale it can be very frustrating for the employee having to deal with me during these complicated purchases. but ive had a great experience shopping at this specific 24 hour cvs pharmacy in pacific beach on 1792 garnet avenue. the night shift manager here benito and another employee josh both have gone out of there way to help me with a very complex order by explaining to me everything i need to know about how to save the most money using the cvs extra bucks rewards system. they are very helpful explaining all the fine print to me. way above and beyond normal customer service and they do it with a smile on their faces .which to me is much more than average customer service this team really cares about their customers! thank you both for making my trip to cvs awesome! read more
