I experienced superb customer service from Julian one of the lab techs at this CVS. Not only was he super helpful in getting my husband's prescription transferred, he was extremely patient when our RX savings card was not working and had a wonderful can do attitude even though it was extremely busy on a Saturday. In addition, one of his coworkers chimed in when we had a question about something else it was also wonderfully helpful. Highly recommend this pharmacy. read more

As a CVS that advertises itself to be 24 hours, this is never the case. I have been to this CVS multiple times and am continuously let down by a "sorry for the inconvenience" sign that hangs in front of the door by 11pm. If you are not a 24 hour CVS due to staff shortages (which is completely understandable) at least do us the favor of changing your hours on the CVS website AND DONT BE A 24 HOUR CVS. Can you give someone zero stars? This is the worst pharmacy ever. We have only tried a couple times to have a prescription filled here but it's the same poor service every time. "We don't have anything for you" When you just told me over the phone to pick up my medication in an hour. Never use them. Unless you want to develop an ulcer from your frustration. read more

It takes a lot for me to write a negative Yelp review. I have good things to say as well as bad things to say- Bruce, who works mostly graveyard totally changed my mind about never going back to CVS again after having multiple uncomfortable experiences. I've been followed around the store by employees thinking that I will steal something. I come from a very prominent family in San Diego, New York, and London. My grandfather founded Jack In The Box and my father owns Rolls-Royce Bentley dealerships local and worldwide, I do not need to steal anything from your company. I've been lied to by employees saying that their restroom was broken and 5 minutes later I asked a different employee and he gave me the code to the restroom that was not broken. I asked if I can leave my bike up front inside the store because I did not have a lock for it and I believe your manager's name is Michael? Well, Michael is probably the rudest person I've ever ever come across in a professional environment. After totally being unprofessional and downright rude I asked him for his name and he said he would not give it to me... so I said I will be calling Gwen about this and he told me that Gwen has been fired. So back to Bruce- he made me feel so much more comfortable there and that's why I kept coming back after being followed around by employees thinking I'm robbing you guys and being lied to but he explained that it happens often here...and basically he was just really super awesome and he had great customer service skills, he totally changed my mind until I had the encounter with Michael (or the current manager as of February 2020) I believe Michael is his name though. Every time I go in there with my friend we spend no less than $200 each time. But since this last encounter with Michael and the bike issue, I will not be returning there and I will be telling everybody I know, my family, my friends my colleagues, about how horrible Michael treats and talks to customers. I asked his name and he said why should I give it to you? Talk about unprofessional. So thank God rite aid is right next door. I appreciate it Bruce changing my mind 2 continue to be a customer.... my friend and I actually came back a couple days in a row and bought a whole bunch of stuff oh, I think we spent about $400. But unfortunately Michael ruined it all. There should be more Bruce's in the world, that guy is an amazing employee and has great energy!!!! The worst. Happy I switched to Amazon. Came here for the last time to fulfill my prescription. CVS automated calls to my phone daily. As of yesterday. 8/15/22 I had 2 days to pick it up. So I'm here and the young man at the registers asked me for my name bday and there's a thick plexiglass between us and verbalized back all my private information. Then proceeded to tell me that it's not ready and I have to go to another line so they can process it. I informed him that as of yesterday I had 2 days to pick it up. He insisted that I go to a different line and refused to even look at medication ready for pick up. He said "if it's not in the computer then it's not there". Huh? Really? I asked if he would just look and he refused. The pharmacist heard me and said "we can't just have people going there" O K he works there right? Isn't that his job? Clearly it was too much to ask. Off I go to Drop Off...So at the drop off line the next employee asked for my name and date of birth. He looks at the screen and said "let me check" looks around then speaks to the pharmacist and says "oh yeah it's here but it's going to be 10 minutes ". Hmmm if it's there why would it take 10 more minutes and as of now it's been at least 20 minutes...still here ugh. read more

I had to stop in here the other day on my way home from work. There seemingly was a tone of people in the store however despite how busy it was and the long check-out line I was still able to grab what I needed and checked-out rather quickly. I was thoroughly impressed how efficient the staff was and inaddtion to the great customer service I was provided. For some reason every time I go to a CVS I seem to have a bad experience and every one seems miserable. Thankfully I found a location that seems to know what they are doing in terms of business operation and hiring of staff. Next time I need to go to a CVS I'll drive by the other two just to go to this location. read more

CVS is CVS so coming here at 11:30pm on a Friday and being greeted by the most friendliest people is a very nice surprise. Great customer service for being 24/7! Came here looking for some hot chocolate and a bearded dude who appeared to be on break helped me unhesitatingly. Why does it take 4 attempts to pick up my prescription here? Once the system was down, then they didn't have my insurance information updated and they didn't have time to update it because they were busy, then it was filled but then magically unfilled? (Who knows, the girl at the register couldn't explain it either and had no idea what happened to my medication but she "thinks she knows who did it"), and then again, medication was not ready (even though I got 10 texts that it was) and the pharmacist was "out to lunch" -literally- and nothing could be filled. Had to wait over 30 minutes to pick up a prescription that was apparently "ready" for over a week. Good luck if you use this pharmacy. You have been warned. read more

I don't normally give bad reviews but this is getting ridiculous. Every single time I come in to pick up a prescription there is some sort of issue. Either it's not actually filled, or they don't have it in stock, or they billed it without insurance and I have to wait for the one person who can re-bill to do it. I have not once come in here and picked up a prescription without a problem. It's close to where I live, so it's convenient, but at this point I may just change because it's not worth it. Let me preface this review by stating it is only for the pharmacy. I LOVE this pharmacy so much and came to know the staff on a first name basis that even after I moved from Pacific Beach to Normal Heights, I still drive all the way back to visit my peeps. Tran is the nicest, friendliest and sweetest pharmacist. Izabel also gives great customer service at the pharmacy register. Yes this location is super busy. Yes there can be a line but it all depends on what time of day you visit. I have the luxury of being able to come to pick up prescriptions before the after work crowd hits. This is one of the few pharmacies that is open 24/7. I remember coming it at 2 am when I couldn't sleep due to a migraine and being able to talk to a pharmacist to recommend some medication. CVS recently underwent a face lift so everything looks much newer and fresher. The staff at the pharmacy is top notch. I just wish they were closer to me. read more

When approaching the pharmacy, I get direct attention from the staff, and am guided through the process efficiently. The minute clinic area is personal and clean, feels comfortable, and easy to find. I like the new hearing center put in, though I haven't had to use it. The people on the sales floor always seem to be working hard, and help as much as they can. And when I needed a passport, it was done within 5 minutes! This CVS is very clean and neat, with little comparison to the stores back east. read more

Two stars for the vaccines. I got the flu shot at the same time as the COVID booster. Due to previous lymph node removal, I needed to get them in the same arm. When that happens, the injection sites should be separated by at least an inch. The lady put them right next to each other. They obviously have not had adequate training and should decline to do something if they are unsure. read more

Just transferred all of our prescriptions from the Pacific Beach CVS to the Clairemont Square CVS. The PB pharmacy has the absolute worst customer service, and despite all of the complaints over the years, nothing has changed. That means the management at this store couldn't care less about their customers. It took TWO days just to get the pharmacy on the phone. They are out of the medication we need, and rather than have it transferred from another store, they leave you in your own. This is not the first problem we have had here. We will never do business at this CVS again. read more

I went to CVS after calling the pharmacy to make sure my meds were there including generic cortisporin ear drops for earache. After phone confirmation and when I got there, the female Pharmacist (dark hair) said that my good doctor assistant who I saw about this did not call the regular generic ear drops that I have used for 35 years and picked up there. So she said my Medicare Rx cost is $256. for a 2-3 gram little dropper. I asked her to please just make it the generic form to no avail. Is that Legal? So I called my doctor's office and they said they will call in the generic and call me to confirm. 15 minutes later the good doctor receptionist said ok Dr. called in. Then I was on way to pick up an online order from Home Depot. Two hours later 6:00 PM back to CVS (second attempt), with an ear ache and the main Pharmacist man, upper 30's dark hair said no one called it in...?? (Probably faxed). I call my good Dr. back and he (receptionist) said they called so I asked the pharmacist to talk to him and Mr. RX said he would call Dr. Anyways, back and forth since they then did not have generic in stock? etc etc. He had to get authorization for a diff. brand generic ear drops between my busy Dr's appointment that they are doing online for safety sake because of the Coronavirus! I was there for a total of about 2 hours in total.%$#@(*&! Bottom line, i called them in advance so i could just go in pay and leave because trying to follow the protocol of stay home, etc. during this Pandemic. Turned into two hours in CVS run around and they kept saying it would cost $57, $75.... Final cost with online coupon etc. $3.25.+-!! Either they have an attitude or are mad at me and wanted to waste me and my doctor's time there or they are incompetent. BTW, there were no lines as most people must be getting deliveries, staying away or going to the new Rite Aid that has lots of favorable yelps with Yelpers denouncing this CVS From now on I will keep records of this CVS and call the FDA and BBB if provoked like this. The night staff is wonderful, friendly, very helpful, and even cheerful at odd hours of the night when I can only imagine they just want to be at home sleeping. They patiently let me use all my coupons while also tearing off the unused ones to give back to me. They even overrided a computer issue for a coupon that did not go through. It was very nice how attentive they were to my specific needs. They directed me to all the products I needed, as well as filled my prescriptions in a timely manner. Thank you, team!! :) read more

Totally unexpected experience today. I ran in for a few quick things and Akira was this amazing person that was greeting and welcoming everyone to THE greatest CVS in the WORLD! By the time I left I would have to agree with his statement all because of HIM. He totally made my day, with his positive affirmations, infectious joy, and special magic receipt trick. Everyone at this CVS is helpful AF. I felt like I was at Nordstrom when I just went here. I swore when the first employee greeted me when I came into the store, I thought she knew me!! I also heard another employee talking to a customer with a very heavy accent. The customer kept asking for what sounded like "be-ne-col". The employee was very patient and asked her to repeat it. Finally, the employee says, "ohhh, vinegar!" And she was right! Goddamn, that's some good service. This store also had a nice selection of infant medicines and travel size supplies. I went to this cvs after receiving a message that my prescription was ready. When I told the woman I was picking up a prescription she told me there was nothing ready and that they will not have that specific drug for a few months. I said that I received a message that it was and she cut me off abruptly and said nothing is ready for you. I left the cvs very confused and then went back in. When I asked a different pharmacist about the prescription he too told me there was nothing ready but then I asked him to double check and then suddenly my prescription was ready for pick up. Very confused, I asked if he knew why that happened and he mustered about 7 ummm's and then mumbled something nervously. I am still Very confused. read more

I really don't understand why this location has an awful review. The staff is always really friendly, they're close to where I live, and they're 24 hours. If they don't have something I need, it's as easy as requesting them to stock it and the next time I go in its there. The only issue I've ever had is the pharmacy didn't have my prescription in stock so they had to send me to the CVS on mission. read more

This pharmacy's customer service is horrific if you are not in the store. It is laughable, that at 9:30pm, I am left on hold (at a staff members request, longer than I am quoted it would be to fill a prescription. I understand that stores are busy, but how long of a line can you really have on a Sunday night at 9:30? Do NOT call and expect to have any type of interaction unless it is with you talking to the hold music. If you're in the store and waiting to talk face to face they are great and personable. But ANYTIME I call, I'm met with "please hold" (basically getting hung up on as I'm put into the black abyss of queue) and a wait time on hold with the most repetitive and mundane song on replay for 30 minutes. My true wait time depends on when I give up after that 30 minutes. I don't care how slammed I am, I never let a customer wait on hold longer than 3 minutes without checking in. Customer service 101. People don't like feeling forgotten, and that's all I ever feel if I call with a question. Don't waste your time and just go in. If I wasn't suffering with crippling disease, maybe I could avoid this because it's not big deal to go in. But guess what...I do suffer from debilitating diseases and I CAN'T. So I have to call and guess what then...im NOT cared for. At all. Probably should find a new drug store. Which sucks because this location is convenient, but their care for the public is inexcusable and deplorable. read more

I was browsing at the store around 9pm. The store manager was watching me walk around the store. He gave off the vibe like I was shop lifting. I went to the photo department to pickup a photobook. The person working behind the counter didn't ask if I needed help. The manager and the other people working at the store don't smile or say hi but just stares at customers and give off the vibe like they hate working there.
