CVS recently bought out Sav-On. As far as product selection is concerned, however, there ain't much of a difference. It's not better, but it's not worse either. CVS is convenient. That's why we go there. It's one of the few places where you know you can pick up super glue, a couple of red bulls, some gold bond cream, and a bottle of Jim Beam all in one place. 3 stars because this particular location is sorta sketchy. this place is about 6 blocks from my house. I dont mind it. Its super cool inside.. when i say cool i mean temperature wise not like badass or anything. Not at all. I only come here if i need one thing, and im not going to Target. Why drive all the way to Mission Valley for TP when CVS is here... i might spend a few more pennies but those are the ones i saved from not driving. so its turns out to be about the same. Horrific! Hummmm, what can go wrong when you visit this CVS? Just about everything! Not only is this store ALWAYS short staffed, but the Pharmacy section is also lacking. EVERYTIME I go to this particular CVS Pharmacy they do something, or don't do something, to screw with my day. I even tried calling ahead to make sure my RX's were ready and still, when I arrived they weren't! They weren't even approved by insurance like the gal on the phone said they were! There's so much to say about this pharmacy and it's all negative, so just take your RX's somewhere else! Horrible Pharmacy Technicians that need to find a new calling in life - Long Lines. Here's a Tip: Only go to this location if you're not in a hurry or you have tons of time to kill. You're going to wait in the longest line waiting for one or two cashiers. They're very friendly but that's it. Second Tip: Keep driving if you're looking for a place to drop off a prescription. EVERY Time I've dropped off a prescription, they MESS up in a major way. A couple of the ladies working there, especially Emily, has a horrible attitude. Maybe her weave is too tight or maybe she just hates the job she required in 9 fast months. Hmmm. I've tried reasoning with this one; don't waste your time. Third Tip: If you want some FREE entertainment, observe the people returning stuff. You'll see ghetto people trying to return booze and cussing out the manager as the manager constantly tells them "Sorry, we do not accept returns on alcohol." Above and Beyond. I come to this CVS all the time. When I first starting coming, the service was not all that great. It wasn't something to brag about, BUT recently, a little bit of the staff has changed. The new generation is taking over as I spoke with Wafa about medication. At first there were errors from the doctor and I didn't have much time to drive back and forth to ask. WAFA HELPED! not only did she text me information but she made the phone calls for me! I didn't understand exactly what was missing, I'm just the person picking it up, but she saw my confusion and did everything so that I can get my fathers medications to him at the right time. I ordered photo cards on Saturday, in an email I was told the cards would be ready for pick up at 2:30pm... at 6:00pm I got a call that their machine was broken; I called them back and they told me I had to reorder at a different location they could not transfer my order and the machine was broken since the day prior. Every time I come here, there's always a painfully long unnecessary wait to, both, drop off and pick up your prescriptions. I understand that patience is a must with this specific location in particular, but waiting 25+ minutes in the DROP OFF line is beyond my patience! 7 people including myself waiting. Erica was the pharmacist this afternoon, and she's always super slow. I notice she would rather conversate with her coworkers than actually have a sense of urgency to get the job done ASAP. And if you think that's bad, try being on a 42+ minute wait being out on god via phone call! And it's just the pharmacy personal! All of the other staff members is super nice and welcoming! This pharmacy has gone SO downhill in the last year. Nothing is ever ready when they say it will be. Lines and wait times are horrendous especially if you aren't feeling well or someone is sick and coughing in line for extended amounts of time all over you. If they don't have have an item they suggest you go somewhere else, like out of their hair. If you press to get them to order for you get ready for resistance. If you need to call, have something to read while you are on hold for a few chapters. Store clerks are awesome! But pharmacy needs to clean house and start working. read more

Terrible customer services from the pharmacist. I went in due to a clogged ear, I wanted some drops that would help relief pain right away. Since my doctor could not see me until Friday morning. The pharmacist without asking anything referred me to take some Advil and go to the hospital (pay an expensive bill). Rather than assist a customer she continued conversing with her coworkers. There was no one in line or, anyone in store for that matter. Rude and quickly dismissed me, could have at least directed me towards the pain relief aisle. As far as CVS' go, this location is pretty good. It's well maintained, stocked and clean. The employees I encountered were helpful and courteous. As with any convenient/drugstore, the prices here are usually not worth compared to grocery stores. Also, though I found the customer service helpful, I didn't see anyone on the actual floor so if I needed actual help, I would need to go up to counter after waiting in line. Overall though, if I needed to pick up a couple goodies or random household items, I would come to this CVS just because I find the customer service here better than most places and the store itself is nicer than other CVS locations. read more

Do not use this pharmacy for your COVED 19 shot or booster. The pharmacy was totally disorganized and not in control of the situation. From the time we arrived, when the auto check-in did not work, there was no one in charge to direct people with appointments, no signage, and pharmacy staff were giving different instructions to customers and the poor nurse, who was really trying to do her job, was spending more time running back and forth 21 aisles between the pharmacy and the shot area to correct what appeared to be numerous mistakes on the paper work, to the fact that the lot # the pharmacy hand wrote on my vaccination card was unreadable. (they did follow up with an E-mail with the correct info) It seemed like they did not know what was going on, it appeared they were making it up as they went. Plus, we were suppose to stay in the area, for 15 minutes. But with only 2 chairs available, no oversight, most people said they were not going to stand around, and left. I worked in healthcare for over 25 years, as a compliance officer and never have I seen a situation involving people's health as out of control as today. Some one with county or state oversite should check this location out before some one is injured. I bet they do not have a written procedure or training. read more

No control over the panhandling, no control over the homeless sleeping on the property, lack of proper lighting in the parking lot, dumpsters spilling over with garbage, management that is not responsive to customer complaints. I had a ad experience at this store on June 5, 2019. It was a problem with the Coinstar machine. The machine would not give me credit for dollar coins. I talked to an employee name Karina, and she told me it was not her responsibility. I then asked for the customer service phone number for CVS at 1-800-764-7287. The lady I spoke to took a report and told me a district manager would call me back within 24 hours. As of today, no one has called me. This CVS is the worst. I always spend more time waiting to check out here than anyplace else. It is a full service CVS though, and it's very near where I live, so I still find myself in here a lot. The Asian man and manager of this pharmacy, don't trust these greedy dishonest people. This Pharmacy distributes illegal counterfeit pain medication. I won't go into the details just be careful over any pain medication attained from this pharmacy. It is not in the mainstream news but pockets of local news have reported the truth - that counterfeit medication CAN and IS distributed by American pharmacies, chain or otherwise. Nobody will believe anyone in this situation - that is why I am going no further than to help people by writing this important warning - I am perfectly aware that the horrible system is set up in a way that any person who receives this counterfeit medication is a victim and there is no they way can attain any justice. read more

With regard to the pharmacy, go somewhere else!! The location isn't very safe and the pharmacy staff is downright rude. I carried prescriptions with this outfit for years (shame on me). The place gets busy and the people working at the pharmacy counter have no problem venting their frustrations on customers. They sigh when your last name is difficult to spell, harass you if you don't refill your prescription regularly, and they are rather nosy when they're curious about your diagnosis. I have had more than one problem with them billing my insurance, and it seems they are never on the same page with insurance companies, doctors or even their own coworkers. Be prepared to repeat yourself every time you go in and don't ask them to do anything more than they feel like doing -- even if they're falling short on the basics of their job. I have got alot to say about this store ever since it been remodeled it looks outstanding! The store look well maintained & I enjoy walking into the store now. First thing when I walk in I'm happy welcomed by a cashier with a nice smile making me feel great. They offer help as well and when I couldn't find an item the walked me too it, they even went to the back too check for me and got it. That is the customer service I love and keeps me coming back to this CVS. The employees are awesome they get along with customers like friends it a great environment. I have been going to this CVS ever since it changed from Save-On. I live a couple of blocks away and find myself going here like 2 - 3 times a week if not daily. Pharmacy has bent over backwards for me contacting my Dr on short notice or researching pricing for me. Have used their counseling expertise a few times and they were always "right on" I would discover later. Main staff is very friendly and helpful. Can't believe some of the negative reviews but this is a VERY busy location and would certainly miss it if it were not here. Cashiers seem to move the people thru pretty fast for how busy it gets. CVS rewards program is great and sometimes they hand me a receipt saying that I have 3 or 4 dollars to use towards my next purchase. I go to CVS flyer online to see what is coming up on sale during the week or for the following week. Doing this I can get prices the same as Walmart and Target if I buy during the sales. I also get emails stating that I can get 25% off my next purchase with no minimum purchase almost once a week for a few day period. read more

This pharmacy is ridiculous. Every time I went there, 9 out of the 10 people in front of me were having some issue or another with getting their prescription filled. I have had the same prescription and insurance for the past 1.5 yr, but every time I went in, there was a new issue as to why it wasn't ready, was unavailable or magically not covered by my insurance this month. I moved my prescription to Walgreens. Although it's further away from me, they know what they are doing. Not once have I had an issue, or have I seen anyone else in line not getting their prescription right at Walgreens. The CVS on El Cajon Blvd is uniquely dysfunctional. If you're in a cranky mood and feel like complaining for 30-45 minutes with complete strangers at the pharmacy, CVS is your store. You'll see the group waiting on the right side. It'll be all the people that the pharmacy is having a hard time helping. Some have been there so long, or so often, that they've made friends. I saw a certain solidarity develop among all the wronged customers every time I went there. Quite frankly, I didn't have the time to waste once a month, medication refills should be quick, easy and uncomplicated. read more

So, I got a script from the doctor and immediately went to this CVS since it is close to my house. I went to the window and of course there is a sign that says come in side. So I struggle to get my two kids out of the car and as i get one kid out i realized I stepped in a effing dirt diaper laying in the parking lot!!!!!!!!! WTF! I know that's not CVS fault but it was disintegrated so obviously parking lot is not cleaned up daily or weekly. So, go to Pharmacy counter and the two ladies were nice letting me know that they knew I was there while they finished doing what they were doing. I hand them my script and she said 15 minutes. GREAT. I show my kids the toy section and I immediately heard my name on intercom. Go back to pharmacy and the lady asked who i was and asked if i had one pick up. I said, yes and got my drugs paid the co pay and went on my merry way. Sounds pretty normal right? Well, got home, unloaded kids, got a glass of water to take meds.... looked at the bottle and it was the WRONG meds. I doubled checked the paper work read the description describing the pill shape and color. Yup wrong meds. The meds i did receive have been prescribed to me before but that was not what my script was for. Call the pharmacy and the lady remembered me and she said, "i was the one who filled it and its right." Like I am a dumb ass or something. Granted i do have my moments. She proceeded to tell me the shape and color and I said this isn't it. So, i had to load the kids up and head back. I go back and she saw me and I tried to give back the wrong medicine. Of course, they can't take it back. Apparently, the right meds were done and the mistake was there were more than one medicine and when i originally picked up my meds i only thought I had the one and that was what was on the SCRIPT that i brought in. Of course, they made it all my fault and granted i should have looked at the medicine before leaving but come on. Mind you the wrong med were meds i haven't taken in a month and never had refilled. I never once asked for it to be filled. So, I think someone was not paying attention and wasted my time and just pissed me off. Everything about this store is corrupt. The pharmacy techs are rude and unhelpful. They do not try to understand what you are asking, nor do they care with their smirks and rudeness - while obviously trying to drive you away. I have received the wrong medications twice now. I have even been told that my medication was not ready after waiting five hours and receiving a text that it was ready, yet as I am walking away I get another text that it is ready. I swear it's like they do it on purpose. They do not open their doors at 8 AM as posted. I am going to relocate my pharmacy and drive out of my way just to avoid going here. I only have a good experience when i DONT have to deal with the pharmacist. It worries me that when I tell him my date of birth he says it back to me but.....Wrong month wrong day wrong year. I say March he says February. I say the 15th he says the 2nd I say 1985 he say 2015. I understand there is language barrier but it's so bad that I HAVE to give him my date of birth by flashing the number of fingers like I'm talking to a small child. It never fails that I always come in after I get the text that it's ready and when I show it's never ready and I have to wait an hour. That also doesn't count the 20 min it takes for him to find me in the system. When there is something that doesn't make sense like he can't find me in the system he says "no" when my rx isn't ready he just says "no". And I always follow with "no what, I don't understand" the he always points at the screen and just says the word "no" as if I can see what it is he's talking about or read his mind. He always asks "what for". Then I have to explain the birds and the bees and the use of birth control in front of 10 people waiting in line. That's "what for"!!! Going to the pharmacy is now a chore and a chore I dread every month! read more
