I want to echo what other have written. There is one pharmacy employee there, a male, who is new and really nice. However most of the employees there seem a bit off. Their work flow is erratic. One day I was there are one of the employees was talking very loudly about how long her classes ate, how long she had been working that day, and how unhappy she was that she had to turn around and go back to work the next day. It was odd an odd experience to overhear this and wonder why nobody would mention to her that her comments were not appropriate for workplace conversation. I like their location so I hope they figure out their workflow/staffing issues. The store is nice and stocked well. read more

This CVS has absolutely horrible service. The pharmacists and workers behind the counter don't acknowledge you whatsoever when you are there, and not one person greets you. I use this pharmacy ONLY because it's right next to my job, however they always manage to mess up my prescriptions whether it's quantity is incorrect which has happened several times, they say your prescription is ready and you end up waiting forever anyways, and they do not go out of there way to fix there mistakes or take any ownership for it. I wouldn't recommend anyone go here, I wish I didn't have to. But no car and it's convenient location wise however my goal is to switch anyway. read more

All the reviews are correct. These people are impossible to deal with. You try to get a prescription and it seems like they try their hardest to not fill it. I got, "the doctor hasn't called us back." "The proscribed amount is not correct" called my doctors office and they said they can't get a hold of anyone and they were hung up on another time. I am new to this pharmacy and have had problems 2 out of 3 times. Horrible service. The only time I had ok service is when I first got my prescription filled. The 2nd time I came for a refill 2 weeks later I was told to come back 3 different times to pick my refill up. For one reason or another I was told It was not ready even though I received a text from there system telling me my prescription is ready to be picked up. And today they straight up lost my prescription I dropped off on Friday. They are unreliable and incompetent. read more

This pharmacy is terrible. Not only do you have to wait forever for auto-refill drugs but they have the biggest bunch of uneducated pharmacists and pharmacy techs. I am an ICU RN and know more pharmacology than these morons. I got news for you ladies, when a patient says she is here to pick up a pain medicine that clotrimazole is for the fungal infection from me scratching an itchy case my eczema, not my TORN LABRUM! Pain is either an NSAID, narcotic, or partial narcotic receptor agonist! Jesus Christ! Looking at the list of meds when a patient says he or she is here for a pain medication and making the connection that there is no pain medication that you are giving to her and make a phone call immediately to the doctor's office. The counter parts I work with at my job are far more intelligent and logical than these chimps ever will be. read more

I'm still sticking with my 3 star review, but I will say I think a lot of that is due to the staffing there. The people I have worked with at this location over the past few years have always been pleasant and willing to help me, but there simply are too few of them during peak hours. We all know during the peak of cold and flu season the local pharmacy will be buried in customers so I guess I haven't figured out why the pharmacy can't figure that one out and staff up. Waiting in line for an hour due solely to the fact that they simply don't have enough people filling prescriptions and checking people out is just not cool. This is also a drive-thru location so add that in and you get the idea. I won't be leaving this pharmacy anytime soon, but I must say it's tempting now that a Rite Aid is going in directly across the street. Maybe a little competition will motivate some more focus on the customer experience. read more

I ALWAYS have to wait for a prescription. Tonight, my doctor called in my prescription about 20 minutes before I arrived. When I pulled to the drive thru, I was told that I would have to wait 30 minutes for the drive thru but only 15 if I walked in. They need an industrial engineer to streamline their orders. They are always a long wait (and sometimes pretty rude about it). BUT I still have to go because that is where my insurance makes me go. read more

These guys are great! I needed photos printed and some were in the incorrect color mode. Daniel and George were so understanding and extremely helpful. They went above and beyond and SO nice! I chose this store out of convenient, I understand the staff have to follow rule that's at any job. But whatever employees have person issue about there life. It doesn't give us customers poor customer service. We give u money for ur store so we deserve some respect. Be helpful, cheerful, bend over backwards for customer and elderly people as well. Go out to Kate the supervisor u need to be happy with ur self and treat ur customer right. No attitude it goes long way. Then we don't have to give ur store a bad score. But the only nice staff is Veronica she beyond nice and helpful. read more

Place is a nightmare now! When we first moved here ten years ago it was excellent all the way around.Not sure what happened the past couple of years but it's just plagued with total ineptitude now.They'll send multiple notices that your prescription is ready but when you arrive you are often told they are out of stock and made a mistake.Not to mention they yell out your personal info as if they are completely unaware of identity theft.Stay away. read more

After reading so many negative reviews I hesitated to go here but needed to use the drive up window and figured how bad can it be? I was scheduled for surgery on the following Wednesday and my doctor, wisely, gave me my prescription to fill early. I went late on a Saturday afternoon to drop it off figuring I would give them plenty of time and would pick up late in the afternoon the next day. The window person told me that they didn't have enough of the medication and it wouldn't be in until Tuesday morning. I said that wasn't a problem I would simply pick it up on Tuesday. (I'm not unreasonable). I was then told that she couldn't hold the prescription for more than 24 hours since it was a narcotic. I questioned it but she insisted. OK...fast forward. So I go back on Tuesday later in the afternoon and the person at the window said that the medication hadn't been ordered but there was plenty to fill what I needed. Also, she told me that it wasn't true that it couldn't be held for more than 24 hours. She came very close to laughing as it was so ridiculous. Sooo...bottom line I made three trips, was given wrong info on two issues. The woman on the last day was probably a pharmacist and "got it"...the other person was simply a ditz. This isn't my first issue with them. Why do they hire these people or better yet, why don't they train them to eliminate this type of problem? To add insult to injury the medication that had been ordered for me post surgery was a liquid. My physician wrote the instructions to take 15 ml per dose. It is standard for the pharmacy to add the little dosage cup with liquids. (What the hell is 15 ml to the average person???) They didn't do it and my daughter had to go to another CVS pharmacy and pick one up after my surgery. Their complete lack to attention to detail is astounding!! read more

Can we use negative stars? Everytime I've ever gone to pick up a prescription from this pharmacy, they tell me it isn't ready. EVEN if they've called to tell me it's ready, it still isn't. Today, I was given 3 prescriptions by my dr. He assured me that by the time I made it there from his office it would be ready. I left at 2:45. At 3:00 I pulled into the drive thru- the only prescription they had for me was an old one I had yet to pick up. The employee asked me to come inside and wait about 15 minutes, however, I was in a lot of pain and said I would come back later. I asked my mom to go get it for me on her way home from work, around 5:30. When she got there, they still weren't ready and she was also asked to wait 15 minutes. We live close by so she came home. She left again about 20 minutes ago to grocery shop and grab my meds. At 6:25 she sent me a text that said "do not ever use this pharmacy again." Now they're still saying I only have one to pick up, but it isn't even the one they said was ready from earlier! It's now 6:51 and she is still waiting for my pain medicine. Terrible terrible terrible. The one off PCH & SB main is much better - AND open 24 hours. read more

I have been using this SB location faithfully for over 9 years. The employees are always kind and helpful and work as quickly as possible. Now I am ill and need to go more often and occasionally use the drive thru. The drive thru poses no safety issues- but as always drive defensively.Today I was in to pick of scripts and drop off new one,also buy items for wound care. EVERYONE was helpful. I WAS IN EXTREME PAIN, and my experience was still a 5 star. I am a younger LW resident but now I understand how it feels to be ill and need excellent customer service and receive it. The worst experience with a pharmacy ever! Not only did the prescription take an obscene amount of time to be filled. (Talking two days here) but the biggest issue is that they filled it wrong! That's right! a completely different drug than prescribed. The store manager (Karen) was extremely rude and did not show any real interest in correcting the problem and outright refused to give information. Needless to say, this store is failing fast. I hope they wake up one day and realize that their business is based on customer service and if failing that at least about insuring the health of their customers by filling the correct prescription. read more

I have several prescriptions with CVS and moved them to the CVS Pharmacy on Seal Beach Blvd in Seal Beach, CA. On three separate occasions my girlfriend and I have had to deal with the Pharmacy staff over the phone. Each time we dealt with the same Asian woman who is extremely rude, dismissive and has a very difficult time with English. Let me re-state, she has an extremely difficult time understanding English and we have an even harder time understanding her. To top it off, my prescription for Coumadin was due yesterday 01-16-2012. Its 5:30pm PST time on 01-17-2012 now and I left the pharmacy 15 minutes ago. First, I called them 3 1/2 hours ago at 2pm to confirm that it was ready and were told the it would be ready very soon. We arrived at 4pm and it was not ready. I spoke to the Pharmacy staff member and asked when it would be ready. I was told 15 minutes. I told him that my girlfriend and I would go get dinner and return after. We returned at 5pm and spoke to the same Pharmacy staff member. We were told that it was not ready again. He told us that it would take a little more time. While waiting I decided to get some supplies which included insulin syringes and blood sugar tablets. I am a Diabetic without insurance and have purchased my prescriptions and supplies with cash or credit card for years. When asking for the supplies I was told that they do not sell syringes. I have, in fact, purchased them from the CVS Pharmacy located in Westlake, CA on several occasions. They asked for my ID and had me sign a syringe receipt form. I explained this to them and the same woman told me that CVS does not sell syringes and then dismissed me and walked away. I assumed that she misunderstood me as she does each time we speak. I asked again, but this time she asked to see my Diabetic Card, as if some card that says that I'm Diabetic would be sufficient to purchase syringes. Second, there is not a national or state database where Diabetics are required to register and then issued cards like drivers licenses. Have you ever asked a person for their cancer card? Moving on, I then explained that I had purchased insulin and syringes from CVS again. She then proceeded to look my purchasing history up in the computer. I asked her how she could possible know if I had purchased insulin if I paid cash and it was a non-prescription item? She again dismissed me and rambled on, which I could not understand. I had to repeat my statement 4 to 5 times before the Pharmacist on staff walked over and asked me what was going on. I explained that I was trying to purchase syringes to administer my insulin as I was a diabetic. She told me that it was a prescription item, which it is not. I told her that it was not a prescription item and anyone could purchase them from any pharmacy, even online. She responded, "Purchase them online then". Basically what they are saying is that they don't recognize the protocol of other CVS pharmacies and that they need a purchase history for insulin with insurance to be able to provide a basic necessity for a diabetic. They give needles away for free to drug attics, but I cannot purchase a very necessary supply which allows me to live, from a company that claims to be a Pharmacy. The more interesting part was watching the other customer's faces of disbelief as they listened to the pharmacy staff. To prove my point, I then went to another CVS pharmacy located just miles from this CVS location and was able to purchase my syringes and Coumadin within minutes. I was able to do this without insurance, insults, embarrassment or a diabetic card. read more

Ok CVS, time to get rid of your death trap of a drive thru. It leads out right in front of a stop sign that no one ever stops at because its in the middle of a lane along side the building that goes to seal beach blvd. when the light is green people get confused as wether or not they should stop at the stop sign or just go through it because the light is green. I can't tell you how' many times I've been sitting in the drive through waiting to pick up meds and watched every single person run the stop sign when the light turns green. They think its non existent if the light is green. You can't move from the drive through and risk Getting hit because no one stops. Today, 11-3-13, and elderly woman waiting in the lane behind me, probably 80 years old got hit by a man coming out of the drive thru who figured she would stop. I stopped at the stop sign and waited for a green light. When it turned green the man tried to turn out in front of me but waited with an angry face like i was in his way. So I went, and he pulled out quickly to get in back of me but the old lady didn't stop at the sign and they collided. It was bad. I'm sure it happens all the time. The drive through doesn't need to be there. It's a hazard. All it does is keep people inside trying to get their meds waiting in line while they help the lazy drive through people anyway. Time to shut it down and prevent bad drivers from causing accidents. read more

This is a horrible, horrible pharmacy. It is not their fault, it is the corporate CVS's burden to bear, but still...very long waits for everything, especially to actually get your prescription. Many people from Leisure World go here, many of whom have memory issues, and so processes are slower, but CVS corporate won't give this pharmacy any additional staff. Twice the pharmacist has MADE MISTAKES in my prescriptions!!!!!, once by giving only about half of the number of pills i was supposed to receive, and the other time by including a "mystery pill" that was completely different than all of the other pills in the container. I informed corporate CVS both times, but they clearly did nothing, the pharmacist in question is still there and still overworked. The pharmacists seem competent, professional, nice, but very over burdened, and constantly stressed. The pharmacy staff is pleasant but not particularly competent. Twice I have asked the pharmacy staff for the location of over the counter medications and been directed to the completely wrong aisle. The staff at the front of the store are actually pretty helpful and knowledgable, and friendly--much more so since the RiteAid opened up across the street (seriously, a dramatic difference exactly at that moment), but we'll take what we can get, right? If you've read this far, here is your reward: go to the pharmacy at the Ralph's right behind this CVS. Very professional, competent, reasonable wait to fill a prescription, and rarely a line. Completely different atmosphere. read more
