A Friendly cashier checked me out, but it was hard to get help finding the items on my list.

I was shopping at CVS Pharmacy for makeup and shampoo and needed assistance retrieving a dandruff shampoo that was locked. I asked an employee to help and pointed to the item. After unlocking it and handing it to me, he asked, "You're not going to run off with that, are you?" That question was inappropriate and unnecessary. I responded and continued my shopping, but it left a negative impression. For clarity, I did purchase the item(receipt available)and did not "run off" with anything. Customers should not be made to feel suspected of theft when asking for assistance. Is this a standard question you ask all customers? Or just Hispanic females? A more appropriate and professional response would have been to ask if I needed anything else. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Some of the worst customer service - Drugstores Near Me - WALNUT CREEK, California

Every time I walk through the door I am greeted with a smiling face and the question "how can I help you." The new manager is making sure that the customers are happy. The staff is now eager to help in anyway they can. I'm starting to understand why they want the customer to use the self check out. I met the district manager on one of my visits and he told me that the reason why they want us to start using self check out more is so the employees can put more items on the shelves for us to purchase. I now love the idea and I'm looking forward to trying it next time. The pharmacy people always have what I need when I need it and are always willing to answer any questions I have. read more

I don't know what it is with this pharmacy but without fail, whatever prescription we need will be out of stock. This hasn't happened once or twice, it's literally every single time. The few times they aren't out of stock of something they take days to fill prescriptions. Today, when I needed to pick up a prescription urgently, they were closed when I went by the store at 4:00 pm despite the pharmacy closing at 8:00 pm. There is always some issue preventing us from getting our prescriptions. The only reason we use this place is because it's one of the few locations with a drive-through, and with young kids it's much easier to pick up prescriptions without bringing them inside but I think we're done with this place. We have wasted so much time waiting on them. read more

Today this pharmacy refused to refill my 93-year-old mother's heart medication, losartan. They claimed that it had already been picked up one week ago. It was never picked up by her or by me or anyone. They have a fraudulent computer system, and the technicians who work there are extremely rude. I told them she needed the prescription immediately, and despite a call from her doctor, they refused to refill it. I told them I am going to file a complaint with the CA state board of Pharmacy on behalf of my mother, and they encouraged me to go ahead and do that. Stay away from the store! read more

Do not schedule your vaccine appointment here or with any other CVS for that matter! For the regular 2 shots everything was fine. Now all of a sudden I am here for my scheduled booster shot at 10 am and they have me waiting. This place is a disaster. Avoid it. The staff are incompetent. My doctor had prescribed three months worth of medication since I had told him I will be traveling overseas; when I went to pick it up four days ago CVS pharmacy staff only gave me one by the time I figured I had only one and came back they were closing so they said come back the next day. I went the next day they went through the computer. They couldn't figure out what was wrong. They sent me back again so I came back today four days later, and they said they had given me four units and they showed me a picture of it which is definitely a lie or mistake most likely a mistake but they're standing by it so I may end up leaving the country without my medication and if I have problems because of it, I will sue the CVS due to these peoples' incompetence and covering up their incompetence now they're sending me back to meet their manager Monday morning and my plans to leave are for Tuesday. Now I see why their total rating is only two stars. That's too generous. They should only get one star if that. They should go through an entire review of their procedures and most likely the manager itself has to be trained and retrained and monitored because staff cannot be the incompetent lacking Customer Service if management is any good. read more

The worst!! Customer service here is HORRIBLE!!! I spoke with Collette and Hasti (supposedly the pharmacy manager) and couldn't believe just how rude they were. You know it's bad when the pharmacy manager is full of attitude. I called to have my prescription transferred there and they told me it's not possible and I had to contact the other CVS location first which I already did. I told them that I had just got off the phone with the other location and they instructed me to call the location I wanted to pick up at as they share the same system. After an extended hold time, Collette answers like she's already annoyed with her job. She says there's nothing she can do then places me on hold for over 10 min. I call back and Hasti answers and she too, is rude from the minute she answered the phone. She says "It's not our fault the other CVS (Bancroft WC) doesn't know what they're doing." I ask to speak to her supervisor and she says she doesn't have one (sure, Hasti, you're too dog there, you must be CVS CEO with no supervisor) she says "call CVS customer service if you have an issue with me!" She then ells me "you need to hold otherwise it seems like you don't need our help" then as I'm speaking she hangs up on me!!! Unbelievable!!! read more

*This review is for the retail portion of the store, not the pharmacy.* The retail employees here are helpful and nice and knew how to check me out using my manufacturer coupons (usually couponing throws cashiers for a loop!) I was able to find all of the items that I needed, which surprised me. This may be because of the fact that they usually have a different clientele due to their proximity to Rossmoor. It's a small store with a large parking lot and shorter hours (again, due to their location). read more

After already having a failed attempt to get my husbands prescription at the CVS on S. California, I angrily texted him to find out exactly where his prescription was supposed to be called into. We were leaving for Hawaii the next day and this medication is for his diabetes. He should have taken care of it sooner but he didn't. The pharmacists had no record of his prescription either. I almost broke down. I'm not going to get into all of the other things I had to take care of and now this. The pharmacist did a search for his info I the system am found it at the Bancroft CVS in Walnut Creek. How many CVS's are there in Walnut Creek?! She called them right in front of me and had them fax over the prescription so I wouldn't be diving around to the third CVS. I sat in the chairs provided an started crying. My complaint with CVS is about the Care Pass program. Somehow got roped into this ridiculous membership and they make it virtually impossible to cancel. The email address they list on their website to cancel the care pass is incorrect, the hours of the customer service phone number are incorrect. They have my email address incorrect for login so I can't cancel online. So I will call again tomorrow to try to sort this out. Of course they have no problem charging my credit card $5/month for something I will never use and think I will give up, but I won't. CVS did not execute this Care pass program very effectively and their customer service is atrocious. read more

This is regarding the CVS Pharmacy on Tice Valley Blvd in Walnut Creek, CA. I got a new prescription for a very expensive medication that comes in two injectable forms, an easy one and a hard one. When I went to pick up the prescription, the pharmacist called the insurance company telling me the prescription had the wrong NDC code and she "corrected it". Then she dispensed it. (NDC codes are universal stock numbers used for medication ordering and dispensing.) When I got home and opened the box, I saw it was in the wrong form but when I tried to return it, she told me that the doctor ordered it incorrectly and they refused to take it back or dispense the correct form. I called the doctor's office and was told they ordered the correct form using the correct NDC code. I believe the doctor's office and it's suspicious that the pharmacist called the insurance company to change the code instead of verifying it with the doctor's office. I think it was a "bait and switch" and they changed the codes to match what they happened to have in stock. And they should have told me when they dispensed it exactly what they were handing me because I would have refused it right then. I'm changing pharmacies. read more

Second of all, where the hell did you come from side bustin just coz you were on register one? Third, unless y'all had a thermometer that you somehow stuck inside my suv thinking y'all work for ktvu weather reporting on Tice Valley then mind your damn business and keep the line moving. That pissed me the fuck off. Y'all doing more harm then good thinking you know better. I've been in the k9 game for 15 years and I think I know my dogs well enough- and I AM that dog mom that you don't ever wanna go against if you wanna have a good day at that. Review for Pharmacy... TERRIBLE, but do not think it is the employees fault... Understaffed and under-trained... You can call everyday and request RX status and they will Always tell you to return in several hours... Same thing happens as many times aday as you call and turnaround time if your lucky is 5 days... Do not try and call as chances of them even answering the phone are less that 50%... And I could on and on... On two occasions they said the doctor had given incorrect directions, but the pharmacists were terribly overstepping their limits and were absolutely WRONG !!! read more

I have been filling my prescriptions here for nearly 10 years and I always ask WHY! This time I left my Doctors Office 2 hours ago and he had sent in a prescription to be filled. I tried to call in to confirm it was being processed but could not talk to a real person through t Heir new phone system. I got here at 5:30 and of course it had not been filled. The lady at the desk said it would've a 15 minute wait. 20 minutes later I walk up to the counter. The receptionist said you have one prescription being processed. I complained she told me they were busy. No one was here as I approached this second time. I directed her to directly ask how long to be filled. I watched her ask. This CVS is a joke. No sense of urgency. No compassion. No attempt to correct their mistakes. Every single time I come here, whether through the drive-thru or inside, there's a long wait and they either don't have my medication or only filled part of it. How about offer to get it from the other CVS down the street? Or since I get it once a week, have it on-hand? I went one time through the drive-thru with a paper RX and the Dr had forgotten to date it. The chick told me that it needs the date. My Dr is literally across the street, so I went over, got it dated, came back and went inside, as someone was getting a Covid test in the drive-thru, which is also extremely stupid. Side note on that... Have them pull around so you can assist others instead of them holding up the line for 30 minutes! So when I get inside, I go to the drop off window and waited for about 10 minutes, then just got in the pick up line. The older woman that's usually at the window called me up. I told her I had a drop off and she directed me back to the drop off window. I informed her that I already sat there for 10 minutes and nobody came. She said sorry, but took me back to the drop off window. Then the girl that assisted was the same one that assisted me initially at the drive-thru. She looked at the RX and said she'd be right back. I guess she had the pharmacist look at it and then came back to tell me it was back ordered and doesn't know when it will be in. So now I've wasted 45 minutes to an hour here, going back and forth, when she could have just said that at the window in the first place! Then my wife calls to speak with the manager. No, her name isn't Karen. She explained to the pharmacist the issue and she told her to take our business to another pharmacy! What? My wife asked to speak to her boss and she said there isn't anyone higher than her. Ok, sure. Another time I went in and this guy behind the counter was loudly asking why I take this RX, who I am and what it's for. Umm, your job is to fill my RX and take my money. Let's save the medical questions for the pros. In any case, this place is a mess, needs an overhaul and people need to be fired. I'd rather drive the 30 minutes to the other RiteAid than do anymore business here. And the sad thing is that they don't even respond to reviews or try to make it better. read more

The pharmacy pulled off a thanksgiving eve miracle at 6pm tonight and worked so hard to transfer my meds over and have them filled before closing! Seriously consider getting your COVID 19 Testing elsewhere. They say a 2-3 day wait for results but it has been over a week and still no results yet. Same lame excuse of they are swamped at the lab- well hire more employees,etc as you are not handling the case load. Better yet why don't you limit the number of tests so that you can handle the load ?Using a lab that uses a faster test such as the Abbott Rapid Test is an option. Your greed to make a profit is endangering your customers with a delay in diagnosis. Over one week delay? Go elsewhere. read more

At this store in the pharmacy there is always quite a few of employees working but your wait is usually long. If you have an issue with your prescription the pharmacy techs cannot resolve it very easily. At the Rite Aid that closed if there was a long line the pharmacist would open a register and help the customers if there were three customers in the line. At this store I have yet to see the pharmacist and it seems there is no management of the pharmacy techs. The other day I walked in to get my prescription and there were 9 people in line!!! I just left. I believe the pharmacy techs do a very good job of customer service but they have no support with management of customers and the wait time to pick up your prescription. The front of the store clerks have support and their manager is very friendly and pro active with the customers. I feel sorry for the pharmacy techs because whomever their manager is does not support their needs or pays any attention to the backlog of customers. This problem has been ongoing since the store opened. It's too bad Rite Aid. Because they had very proactive pharmacists and pharmacy techs.I hope CVS can improve their pharmacy. Really pathetic. They only seem to get toilet paper in once a week on Wednesday, but not this week. They seem to be running out of a lot of things like diet coke and pepsi. Horrible, horrible, horrible. 10 people in line 1 checker. The checker suggested using the new self checkout machines and neither of them were working. After I got out of line to use the machine, then I had to get back in the line and 4 more people entered into the checkout line. How frustrating. When I told the worker the machines don't work, she said she knows that. So I said "than why do you tell me people to use them?" She said "as a CVS employee it is frustrating to her also that they don't work". ARE YOU SERIOUS. Put a sign on them! DON'T USE. Not difficult!! Common sense. Tell management they don't work. The pharmacy is ridiculous. Always a really long line and plenty of staff sitting around. Slow and rude, especially if you are under 80. They really cater to the old folks and don't care about anyone else. The store itself is okay. The pharmacist here is wonderful. One Friday night the doctor from the hospital called to let me know he has prescribed an antibiotic for my mom at "some pharmacy on Tice Valley". I asked him if it was Rite Aid, our go to pharmacy, and he said he thought so. But Rite Aid didn't get the prescription. So my husband checked as CVS and they didn't have it either. But the pharmacist hunted down the doctor and got the prescription. Now we paid about $.50 for these antibiotics. Of course the pharmacist wants all of our business but she earned it! I'm very happy at Rite Aid but am considering switching because she was so good. Just to be clear Rite Aid was not at fault, it was the doctor. But how nice to have someone go the extra mile. You can't just wait until Monday to get your antibiotics. read more
