It's been awhile since we've ordered from Cybelle's, mainly due to dietary lifestyle changes. But the cravings were strong and we caved. We ordered the classic combo and it's your traditional pizza and it did not disappoint. Not too heavy on the sauce, the dough is tasty and they didn't skimp on the sausage. Very good pizza at a great price. I usually order the slice and add toppings. At $6.25 a slice (they are huge) and extra toppings it is good value for the money. Cybelle's has a thick crust and a large assortment of toppings. Their crust is excellent. I see alot of take out orders. I think most of the Montclair area of the Oakland Hills eats Cybelle pizza. There is a large screen to watch those Golden State Warriors and pound down those large slices of pizza. I'm not sure if they offer beer or wine. But isn't pizza all about the crust. read more

What are your expectations for a "slice" of pizza? If you answered, "a small whole pizza" then you are going to love the slice at Cybelle's. I really liked the vibe at Cybelle's; no nonsense ordering and fresh pizza made quickly. For a little over five bucks you get a humungous "slice" that will fill you up for hours. Most people will need to share their version of the slice--it's just too big. Toppings are only a dollar and they have lunch specials for 8.60$ from 11am to 3pm that include a slice, small salad, and 16 oz soda. I can't imagine anyone but a person my size finishing that though (oink). The ease, speed, and quality are all pretty decent. When I visited, I counted almost 30 different toppings on the menu. This isn't "destination pizza" (my term for pizza that is worth the trouble of a specific trip), but when I'm around the neighborhood this is a convenient and satisfying meal. If I owned a piece (get it?!) of this place, I'd vary the types of pizza to increase business. Possibly add Sicilian and grandma slices? read more

This is the pizza of my childhood. Growing up it was our go-to choice for delivery or take-out. The Montclair and Piedmont locations both opened 30 years ago in 1988. They are not a franchise and have always been locally owned. My brother just ordered 4 large pies for his daughter's birthday party, delivered straight to the park. Our whole family was happy to take a little trip down memory lane. "Ooooh Cybelle's! I haven't had that since forever." was uttered more than once. The pizza was just as good as we remembered. This is classic pizza, nothing fancy or trendy. The crust is a little thicker than other places and it's a delicious crust, handmade daily and hand tossed. They use high-quality cheese and good fresh ingredients for toppings. Cybelle's is definitely better than Round Table, no contest. 5-stars for me, rounding down to 4-stars for everybody else because my nostalgia probably doesn't make your pizza taste any better. read more

Not the most amazing pizza (and that really isn't a criticism given some really high end pizza places in the Bay Area). But I have ordered from here many times and will continue to do so for one reason: Gluten free crust. After developing wheat allergy, I have been missing pizza and their gluten free crust is more than satisfactory. It is crispy with a nice chewy mouth feel. NY Eve 2020 picked up herb pizza, garden and Caesar salads, quicker than delivery, nicely designed store, the food was very good. Their pizza we've had for years, we are usually a Zachary Pizza family but I like Cybelle's just as much though very different flavors and style. Here's how it went: 9pm - We order a pizza for delivery. ETA: 45 to 60 minutes. 10:20pm - Pizza not here 1 hour and 20 minutes later. We call, and they tell us the driver is on his way (we live about 5 minutes away). 10:40pm - We get a call from Cybelle's. The driver couldn't find our apartment and didn't bother to call us. Then he left for the night. They say they won't be delivering us a pizza. That is NOT okay. "I hate them," says my wife. Cybelle's is a family owned pizzeria in Montclair since the late 1980's and has always been reliable with service and quality of their food. I personally like getting the calzone since it is the best deal on the menu. The calzones are so big that you will have a tough time finishing it unless you're crazy hungry. Being a fan of most things Greek, I order their medium 14" Greek Goddess pizza. The pizza comes with pesto, spinach, broccoli, black olives, feta cheese & garlic. Broccoli on a pizza? Well, Cybella's may have already lost George Bush Sr. vote, but I'm pro-veggie so I'm game. I added dices tomatoes to round it out. To give a little context, you must understand that the Montclair Markup is in full effect. What's that you say? Well, when dining in the Montclair district, you can expect to pay 15 to 30% more when dining out. This is Montclair you know. Did you forget? This definitely applies at Cybella's Montclair because they don't offer the 12" small pizza that is available at other locations. We don't eat such small pizza up here.This brought the grand total to approx $21 for a 14" specialty pizza. This was enough to raise an eyebrow, so let's see if they deliver on quality. The pizza stayed true to it's gourmet claims. It's definitely a cut above you Roundtable/Domino's pizza factory grade products. Cybella's makes a great pizza. Its savory, full of flavor, and for the crust-a-holics, crust is crunchy on the outside, soft inside. A great pizza for those who enjoy treating yourself every now and then. For those Bay Area pizza aficionados (and you know who you are), you'll find that Cybella's is good but doesn't stand up to the insider pizza shops. To give you a gauge, I would rank Arizmendi (see my review) as a distinct cut above Cybella's. Overall, you won't be disappointed with Cybella's. Got a flier from Cybelle's and decided to check it out. They offer tomato-less pizza which is great for me. We ordered "Chicken on the green". Not the most amazing pizza. But it is pizza. Next time I will add something salty to the pizza like prosciutto, ham, bacon or capers. The crust was good, Though, my test if a pizza is good, is how it tastes for breakfast, and the crust was a bit soggier than i would have liked.
