Mario came out within an hour of calling and immediately found and fixed the issue with our HVAC blower. He said the issue with the HVAC could be one of two things - a relay or the complete motor assembly. He tried the relay first, as he had the part on hand and it was the less expensive option. He said he'd only charge me for that replacement if it solved the problem. Luckily it did and we are cool in our AC again! He gave us a 6 month warranty on the new part he installed and the pricing was very reasonable. Most importantly, Mario is extremely friendly and good natured and I am happy to have given the business to him. I will certainly be calling him back if we ever need more HVAC repairs. My neighbor had an A/C leak last year and I wanted to make sure my A/C system was in great shape before the summer heat kicks in so he referred me to Cyclone. I called to setup an appointment and Mario came by for our A/C maintenance and tune up (very affordable). He was AMAZING. I had a few questions since this was the first time I've had to get our A/C tuned up and he was super helpful in answering all my questions. He mentioned our relay capacitor was going bad and could replace it during his visits to extend the life of our condenser. I said let's do it and he was able to get it installed quick and clean. He also suggested that our system could use more freon to keep our system ice cold so he was able to add more in no time. He did a great job with the capacitor install (super clean!) and the freon is going to keep our house cool all summer. Read their ad carefully. Thought I'd booked a cleaning for $99, serviceman wanted to add $150 more for additional vent length. I refused as there are services who will do the work all day for $99. They did the job for the $99 when I refused to pay more. This was a ten minute job, if that. Our dryer vent hadn't been cleaned for about 5 years, and was so packed that our dryer wasn't drying as well as before. Jorge noticed the reduced clearance (around 2-3") around our exhaust and opened up our vent after cleaning with very long, specialty spinbrushes to reduce future buildup. The price was the best in the area too - $99 beat out local $230 quote we got here in Fairfield. He also used compressed air on the inner vent to completely clean out the line. The business owner, Mario, was very rude, stubborn, and arrogant. He refused to listen to me as a customer at all. Even when I was trying to schedule an appointment, his tone was extremely pushy. There is a tenant living in my apartment, so I asked if he could coordinate the estimate directly with the tenant. However, he insisted that landlords don't need to consider tenants' schedules. He seemed unaware that in California, it is illegal for landlords to enter a rented property without proper notice or mutual agreement. It also seems that he caused some conflict with my tenant. Eventually, a technician came to inspect the AC system, but they weren't able to fix it because it was a heat pump system. Even worse, the technician accidentally tipped over the door panel in front of the AC unit. He said he would come back later to fix it, but he hasn't shown up since. I informed Mario about the damage, but he told me he had spoken to the technician and that the technician claimed he didn't cause any damage. I kept asking for the technician's contact information, but Mario got angry and started making inappropriate comments--such as criticizing my English, asking why I was laughing, and saying I should be respectful because I needed his help. That's ridiculous. Why should I show respect to someone who damaged my property and refuses to take responsibility? At first, Mario denied everything and refused to share the technician's contact information, saying he had already confirmed there was no damage. But suddenly, he decided to call the technician again--and then admitted that the technician had, in fact, caused the damage. The technician finally came to fix the issue, but my overall experience with Cyclone was a complete waste of time. I was left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I was initially impressed by the number of "positive reviews" and the promptness and availability of this organization but ultimately had a poor experience. PROS - Affordable pricing - a dryer vent cleaning could be about $99, goes up to $199 for stacked dryers - Availability - they seemed to have - Did not charge a fee after looking at the job and realizing they could not do it. CONS - The guy answering the phone is rude; made side comments about my not picking up the phone when he called, claimed that he told me he needed access to the roof and that I had agreed to it (this did not come up in our convo), overall tone was as if I was a nuisance. - Appointment times are not honored (appointment window was 2-3; guy showed up after 4pm) - Not prepared -- I told them I had a stacked dryer inside a closet, yet they only sent one guy who would not have been able to move the dryer safely by himself. First hot day of the year, and of course--my air conditioner goes on the fritz. The thermostat was calling for heat, but nothing was happening to the air conditioner --complete silence. He was super friendly, dealt with my annoying questions, explained everything he was doing and got it up and running again (small freon leak over many years, needed a flush and recharge)!
