Tableside Guacamole
Lilly A.

Avocado Toast 7/10 Papas Bravas Vegan 4/10 Chicken and Waffles 8/10 Breakfast Quesadillas - 6/10 & 9/10 rating from two different perspectives: potatoes came out cold so the manger brought out a fresh side order of them. Had a sweet taste to them so still not really my preference. Quesadillas are bacon scrambled eggs and cheeses. They were tasty and enjoyable although I wish it had more meat in it. Mimosas 10/10 Recommend. You have the option of orange, pineapple or cranberry. It's $10 for initial glass then it's penny refills. Chef's kiss.

Fajita Nachos these ALWAYS hit!!

Much like the storm is named for, Cyclone Anayas NEVER misses. A friend told me to pick the spot I wanted to be taken to lunch to I said this INSTANTLY. No question. I had the fajitas because I literally cannot bring myself to order anything else from the menu, which I'm SURE is all delicious- I haven't ever graduated from it. I DID get the Brussels sprouts that were AMAZING and I had a watermelon margarita with tajin rim- YESSSSLAWD! You can't make me say anything bad about the food, the place or the service- I wish it was closer to me, but we can't have everything can we? Lol Alright, let's wrap this up like I wrapped the beef fajita meat and onions and guacamole and Pico in that perfect flour tortilla...... #2025BIGBACKAPPROVED!!!

Came here with four friends for a Sunday lunch, and even though it wasn't busy, the service was slow and a bit scattered. Our server was swapped without explanation. We took a little time deciding what to order because the menu was huge, and I wasn't expecting a brunch section with that many options. But once we ordered, things got confusing. We asked for shrimp quesadillas multiple times, but beef ones came out instead. We were too hungry to send them back, and thankfully the portion was generous enough to share. The ceviche with lump crab was way too acidic and didn't have much flavor, but everyone who ordered the chicken and waffles really liked their meal. I got the salmon, which came with three large shrimp, glazed Brussels sprouts, and Cajun spinach. The sprouts were solid, the spinach was sautéed but not really flavorful, and the salmon was cooked to the perfect level of juiciness, though overall the glaze tasted salty. Our server did tell us about the 99¢ brunch mimosas. They weren't listed anywhere on the menu, so I was glad she mentioned it. I'll probably come back just for that deal, especially on another slow Sunday with friends. All in all, it was A-ok, but what dampened it most was the inattentiveness of our waitress. I could better understand if the place was busy. My friend's sangria sat at the bar for a while, and we had to keep asking for basic things like water refills, our checks and to go boxes. For a slow Sunday, I expected better.

I really enjoyed Anayas. The sever was excellent - prompt, attentive, and friendly. We started with their tortilla chips (light and crisp) and salsa which tasted really fresh. And we added a generous cup of queso. I also had the ceviche which was outstanding with fish, shrimp, and scallops in lime juice with just the right amount of red onion and cilantro. For the main course I had beef tacos al carbon and my wife had chicken fajitas al carbon which were both very good. The restaurant is nicely, if simply, decorated. The seating was clean and comfortable. Overall, definitely recommend.

Summer special (Cyclone's combinations)

Took a chance & came to see what this place is like and I must say it was sooo delicious! Our server Jazz helped us with the menu since it was our first visit. We ordered fresh guacamole which was so good as she prepared it at our table. It was soo yummy! The bottomless chips made it too easy to enjoy the salsa, queso & guacamole! I ordered the Cyclone combo Summer special that was very tasty and filling. My other family member ordered cyclone tacos. Each dish so full of flavor and fresh. Was too full for dessert but my husband had the flan-OMG! The flan was a mix of coconut & caramel custard. Soo delicious! Worth every bite and the service was great!! Service, Food & the ambiance was perfect for our evening dinner. Thanks Jazz for your excellent service!

Okay so the fish tacos were pretty good but i feel like they were missing some flavor from the fish and batter itself. Most of the flavor came from the veggies on top so I had to put some cilantro lime sauce on top which made them good. The salsa that came with the chips were really good smoky kinda spicy and chunky. The tacos also carbon my boyfriend got were very greasy, but the meat was pretty dry, had no flavor. The rice was not fully cooked was still hard and they came out cold. The spinach that came with my dish I initially thought were good but after a few bites found it to be very salty. Now the bolillos were good kinda reminded me on beignets lmao. And the drinks were good nothing too special. But the decide was good our server was attentive and friendly but personally don't think we would come back.

We had a pretty large group get together, in the middle of a rain storm no less, and this restaurant handled it swimmingly. There were winds and a brief power outage and as mentioned, rain, but through it all the service was impeccable. The space was large and tastefully decorated, with a bar area and a main dining area. There was also a glass barrier behind which the kitchen was visible. For a place that was so busy, the service was extremely fast and caring. Our server was extremely attentive and amiable and we never had an empty glass at any moment. If we needed something, someone was alway ready to help. And the food. It was amazinggggg! I have been in search of perfect empanadas for a long while- and these were pretty darn close! The chicken empanadas (listed as a starter, but substantial enough to make a main dish) had a golden crispy shell and a luscious rich filling. The echilada combo plate was also very tasty, the cheesy sauces complementing the stronger meat flavors. The meal was perfectly ended with the tres leches slice (which was complementary for the birthday celebration). Definitely a new favorite spot!

Guacamole from the happy hour menu which happy hour is til 7 which is very much unheard of.

Impressed as soon as I stepped closer to door and a staff member opened it for us and greeted us with a smile. The service was phenomenal and it was obvious the staff genuinely enjoyed their job and took pride in it. Food was 10/10 from the presentation to the last bite. Ambience was truly appreciated and enjoyed seeing managers interact with EVERYONE!

Came here to hang with family! Service was excellent and food was great. I think the server replaced our chips like 4 times! The food was good as well, I got the quesadillas pictured! Definitely would recommend coming!

Walking into the place. The décor lighting is very warm.I see space for big parties and small parties. There's bar availability. They also have half booths.Looks like they have a private party area. The open kitchen , you can see the kitchen and they recommend the salmon. Order , it took me about three minutes to get help on my door dash , and then she went to go grab it

If you're looking for a cool, vibey spot to grab happy hour, Cyclone is a great option. My neighbors and I stopped by for happy hour when Cyclone first opened, and another time for lunch and both experiences were a 3.5/4 star experience. Both times we went, I got tableside guacamole & chips, and veggie fajita platter. Both servings were quite large so you'll be well fed if you get both. I don't drink so I can't comment on the drinks but they have some great happy hour deals and my friends raved about the margaritas. I also enjoyed their outside patio area as it made the experience cozy. The service both times was impeccable so the staff surely goes above and beyond for patrons.

Steaming family fajita platter !

Took my nephew to cyclone anayas for his 14 th bday. There were 7 of us and everyone loved the food! We ordered the huge family platter fajitas - LOBSTER/ shrimp/ chicken/ beef/ spicy pork sausage all on the platter cooked to perfection ( maybe the lobster was over cooked but still delicious.) Mike was our waiter he was great and he suggested the family platter & I have to say it was definitely the most economical choice for the table! The queso and guacamole delicious and the tres leches was decadent! Thank u cyclone for making my nephews bday dinner so enjoyable!

Dried up tortilla/corn, hard as a rock. Had to heat up my diced up kids meat separately
Alex W.

Ordered to go from this place and it was the ABSOLUTE WORSE! Never again. I had ordered the combo fajitas to go, paid an extra $4 to make it mix combo of chicken and beef, and asked for tortilla and corn. When I received my order and opened the container, my corn/tortilla was already wrapped, and all the meat was diced. How in the world am I supposed to eat fajitas with diced meat when clearly I was supposed to receive strips of meat? This looks like a kids plate, meat was barely there for what I paid for, this was about $35 already. This is so laughable. The tortilla and corn was all dried up like a rock. Normally you should place tortillas rolled up in a foil. Never again shall I order to go, this restaurant CHEAPS you out on everything. Chipotle would've been better

The food (fajitas, cheese dip and house margarita) was bland. Not worth the prices. Our server was very unattended. Nice atmosphere though.

The origami ceiling, lively bar, friendly staff, unique cocktails, fun bathroom, and photo booth in the corner made for an unforgettable experience. My friend said it was the busiest he had ever seen the place, and it was loud. But we got some awesome drinks that I swore I could've taken pics of -- the lighting was a little crazy, so I think I ultimately changed my mind with that. One was the periscope which was a refreshing and summery gin drink... And I think I tried the naked and famous too because I like mezcal. I had already eaten so I skipped the restaurant the speakeasy's connected to, but I cannot wait to return to Houston outside of a Con so I can really go all out on exploring. And glad we did but also upset at myself that I had not visited sooner. Ambiance: Parking is a mix of valet and self park along the side of the Porsche dealership. Dress code for the evening was dressy business casual. There was an event going on along with the DJ spinning some great tunes. It's almost like a mini lounge/club, but scaled back to be a cocktail and coffee shop. The Porsche's parked in front were a good addition to enjoy while drinking cocktails. Service: Bartenders were friendly and quick. So much so that we ended up with an extra drink that we didn't let go to waste. Food (drinks): They do have some food and coffee that is offered, but we came for the hard stuff. Podium Espresso Martini: 5/5 Wouldn't expect less than a 5 from a place that regularly serves fresh espresso, now make it boozy and it's even better. We visited on a Tuesday and they had an handful of drinks that were $9 all day. They had a smoked old fashioned and carajillo espresso listed. Not sure if it was a limited time for the holidays, but I plan on finding out and either way trying them. Overall, highly enjoyable and fun experience to have some well crafted drinks by some attentive and friendly mixologists that care what they serve. Looking forward to my next visit.

Our server was great, I can't remember his name, but he joked around with us the whole time and made the experience a lot more fun. Good service can really make a meal, and he definitely did. I asked him for his favorite menu item, and he recommended the Houston Cowboy Burger. It had really good flavor, and I enjoyed it overall. It was definitely on the spicy side (which makes sense with the jalapeños), but if you like a little heat, I'd recommend it. It wasn't the best burger I've ever had, but it was solid and I'd order it again. My only real complaint was that it was pretty loud inside. There was a game on, so there was a lot of cheering and noise, which made it feel a little overstimulating. That said, it's more of a sports bar atmosphere, so I don't really fault them for it, we just weren't there to watch the game. Overall, we had a good time, enjoyed the food and service, and I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

So we walked on over to this little speakeasy and were immediately greeted by the bouncer. On a Thursday night, it was quite crowded, but were able to find the last remaining seats at the bar. We were seated at the left end of the bar, which was nice because we had our own little "nook" away from the rest of the bar. Adjacent to us was the server station - the one server tending to the tables, Marilyn, frequently came by and we immediately befriended her. She gave us excellent recommendations and provided her opinion on several drinks. Robin was the bartender who took care of us throughout the night. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and gave us stellar recommendations on food and drinks. She was happy to tweak a couple of their seasonal drinks to our liking, and even offered to mix other drinks that weren't on the menu. Fantastic service from Robin throughout the night. I started out with Tommy's Margarita - this was just their take on a classic margarita, nothing super special. I then ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned - think of an old fashioned made with tequila and mezcal in lieu of bourbon. I was a bit cautious about this one since I am not a fan of mezcal, however the smoky flavor was not very apparent in this one, which was a huge plus! I also got the Ardilla - very unique drink made with mexican corn whiskey, cocoa nibs, sherry, and a milk punch. I award this drink for most unique I've had in a while, definitely give it a try if you're up for something new. To finish, I had the Cariña - their take on an espresso martini made with reposado tequila. I really liked this espresso martini - it was a great way to finish out the night and I left feeling inspired to make my espresso martinis at home using tequila now! With the little room we had left in our stomachs, we tried the Pato Tinga Memela, which was duck leg (no bone) with beans and onions and cilantro atop a memela. I haven't had memela specifically per se, but consider me a fan. It is basically a mini "cake" of masa that is pan fried to a slight crispiness. An Oaxacan speciality, where else can I find these in Houston!? We also tried the Guacamole y Tostadas. The guacamole was unique in the sense that it was Oaxacan style, so contains pepitas, pickled onions, and queso fresco. The tostadas were super crispy and reminded me of how they serve guacamole in Mexico (rather than with chips/totopos). Fun fact is that this bar is owned by Goode Company. Next door to this is Goode Co. Cantina, so it's nice that they created an adjoining restaurant + speakeasy concept within the same strip. At one point in our visit, Levi Goode was standing next to us. We didn't know until after he left and Marilyn informed us, that that was THE man. Just doing a casual check-in of his bar. We really had a good experience at Bar Buena and look forward to returning. The food menu has quite a few offerings I wanted to try had I not come from a cooking class. We were also told that the seasonal drink menu was set to change shortly after our visit, so I look forward to trying these drinks!
