I really love the colors of this place ... the warm red-orange and dark gold colors of the walls, and the sparkly-red booths look like something out of the fifties, I think they're awesome. The food has been dependable for me, tonight I had the fish tacos and they were not great but good. I recall liking the breakfast I had here as well, a smoked salmon scramble of some sort ... but how could you go wrong with smoked salmon scramble, anyway? The beer selection could be better, but I can always find something to drink. Tonight it was the Chopper's Red, which the server thought (and I suspect he was right) was from Georgetown Brewery; I hadn't seen it anywhere else, and it was tasty. Our server was adequate, not bad; he could have been a little more attentive and I don't think he would have fared well if it had been a busy evening. All in all, not a place I'd go out of my way to hit, but not a place I'd avoid, either. Perhaps this is a business that should aim higher, because the space they're in deserves better. read more

The service here usually sucks (although occasionally it's been fantastic) but the drinks are strong and delicious late at night, and the vibe is chill and fun. The food is also pretty tasty - chicken wings, steak fries and sweet potato fries, shrimp tacos, chicken sandwich, it's all good. On the weekends, brunch is also super tasty (eggs Benedict with ham...mmmm), with good mimosas and very spicy Bloody Marys. I went here for brunch/lunch today with some friends, and we all really enjoyed it. The dishes were all quite tasty, and some of them were really original (very rare for a brunch); it wasn't just the standard eggs and burgers. It is a very Seattle place (in a good way), with almost everything made on-premises, and you could really taste the freshness of the food. The polenta and eggs breakfast was especially tasty. The waiter was friendly and gave good advice for those who needed it. I guess there isn't much bad that I have to say about the place. Came here with a friend on Saturday night before a show at the Croc -- we were feeling the chill vibe and J said Cyclops was definitely chill....she was right! We sat down near the front and were given menus right away -- the server was attentive and didn't bother us while we chose brews and food. I had the Cyclops IPA (not bad), while J had the red ale, which she liked. Food: J is veggie, and she wanted the quesadilla sans chicken, which they couldn't do as it's pre-made (bummer!). She went with the Happy Hippy burger and I had the hummus plate. J proclaimed the burger to be excellent, and I helped her eat the mountain of fries. The hummus plate was awesome -- TONS of hummus, nestled with lots of crispy pita wedges and fresh veggies (cucumber, tomatoes, kalamatas). I couldn't finish it all! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! In a time of recession you would think business owners would emphasize the repect for your patrons. We are the reason why you stay in business! I was overwhelmed and appauled at the rudeness of the staff. I went there this afternoon for a fourth of july brunch and not just both of the servers but the bartender as well were over the top rude. So much so that I almost thought they were trying to go with a "screw you" theme but they were just generally unhappy people. Could have been a great spot. The food was good but I couldn't get over the pictures of the movie Waiting as I crunched on a crusty potato slice. I've experienced some pretty bad places in my day but this one tops all!! Very friendly service, some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had (and speaking as a connoisseur of sweet potato fries, that's saying a lot!), and the Happy Hippy Burger with the Field Roast sunflower cutlet is fantastic (the SoCal Burger, a more traditional Field Roast patty, is also very good. Cyclops is one of my favorite places to hang out in Belltown - great brew selection, tasty food, great service, and a pretty laid back crowd. It's definitely a welcome departure from the more popular Belltown establishments. I'm addicted to the Super Bueno Burger - the bacon is thick, crispy and perfect. And what do they put on their fries? Heroin? Perhaps I should mix it up a little... Whether I need to unwind after work or I'm craving a killer Bloody Mary and brunch on the weekend, the 'clops is my standby. read more

Your typical local pub. I went there fr St. Paddy's day as part of an endless bar hop. Nothing too special about the place except for the sign - its intriguing and mind searching when you are drunk. This is my second time coming here and I have to say that their food is really good. They are more than just a bar because their food speaks volumes. Their brunch menu needs an extension and the girl at the bar should not be so rude to customers and learn how to make a mimosa with equal parts. Wife had the carne asada tacos with a house Margarita, and they were delicious as well. Only complaint was only two salmon tacos instead of 3. We split a house salad and we're glad we did. My girlfriend and I headed to this place for a quick bite to eat before meeting up with some friends at cloudburst brewery. It's a pretty cool spot. We got to sit outside on a beautiful sunny day. We ordered some chips and salsa to start with. The tortilla chips tasted homemade and were awesome. My girlfriend ordered the fish tacos and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The only complaint my girlfriend had about the fish tacos was that there wasn't enough of them! She wanted more. She didn't even let me try a bite lol My burger was delicious. They never asked me how I wanted cooked so it was well done which isn't my norm but it was still good. I love sweet potato fries and these were some of the best I have had in the area. They also didn't have patron as a tequila which is my go to but the bartender quickly prompted me with a substitute which wasn't quite up to par but was good enough. I will definitely come back to this place! If you're thinking about going here for a quick lunch and a beer it's perfect! read more

Great place for weekend brunch. It has a nice long brunch with lots of options which is perfect for the lazy. The decor is eclectic diner style with nice comfy big booths. The host was a little pretentious but the wait staff makes up for it with being friendly and quick. Great specials like salmon omelets and mixed salads. And excellent combinations like the Italian omelet, tofu Thai scramble and the mango french toast. They can even do half orders on some things since these portions are huge. Decent coffee too. A good price for breakfast and glad the serve meat eaters and vegans. No idea how it stands as a bar. Seems a tad too diner to pull that off. But great for breakfast. read more

I like Cyclops...none of my friends do...but I consider it a decent alternative to the typical 1st Ave. Belltown bar. I think it has character and I like the clever names they have for their mixed drinks: (i.e. Eye Caramba, Pink Eye, ect...)...although I'm too manly to ever order a mixed drink, so I can't say whether or not these drinks are any good. Chicken Cha Cha.....Changes? Actually, no it doesn't. I have been here a number of times for for dinner and a few drinks and every time the Chicken Cha Cha has been pants checking good. The chicken is well marinated, soft and juicy is topped with some cheese and a mango salsa. Yum! The fries are not bad either, thick and well cooked. However, the menu choices are somewhat limited once you pass the Chicken Cha Cha (2 types of burgers, 3 or 4 additional meals, some appetizers and some daily specials [which usually sound great]). Aside from the amazing sandwich, Cyclops is your standard bar with a gimmick. It's comfortable and I'm down with comfort. When we walked in Marvin Gaye was playing in the background and continued to do so during our meal. THAT just puts the cherry on top of the experience! Service is efficient and friendly even though I don't have ink and piercings like most the staff. Tasty Mahi Tacos and an excellent Apple Bread Pudding are recommended. I went to Cyclops on a Mancation last February with two friends to see the Murder City Devils. We stayed at the Ace hotel so we really just needed to walk downstairs. One thing I like about Seattle vs the East Coast is that they don't have major brewery beers on tap, they have microbrews, and this place was no different. I had a burger that was awesome. How awesome? Yeah, I ordered another one and then split it with my friends. It was a slow day and the waitress ended up hanging out with us. And we didn't leave til 8pm. Yep, we drank there all day. I've got 3 words to say... BEST MOJITO EVER!!! Alice, one of their bartenders, was the one that broke me in our their mojitos, she told me the secret ingredient is LOVE. All their bar tenders must have the same love as Alice, because they always taste AMAZING!!! On Monday night Mojito is the drink special so I will be here a lot on Mondays. The food I've had here isn't bad either. They have a hippy burger that we get, but add bacon to cause I need that meat. I've also had a few other things, but we mainly stop in for drinks. I've got a buddy who considers this bar home base, so I've been in quite a few times. He knows all the servers/bartenders so I'm sure this is biased, but I've always had exceptional service while here. They offer regional brews on draught, including the Eye.P.A, the IPA for Cyclops. It is a very good IPA. It seemed like they had quite a few bottled offerings as well, including a selection of ciders. Happy hour drink specials are OK in my book. Food is always great, some of the best bar food I've had. Wings are good, mac n cheese is great, and the sweet potato fries are phenomenal. Definitely the best I've had in Seattle. The crowd has always been relatively sparse when I'm in, but it is always a lively place. Can't wait to come back for another casual night out. read more

Great vibe in the place. Feels like a place you'd find in Los Angeles in Los Feliz or something. Diverse Latin inspired menu. I ordered the mixed green salad (very tasty balsamic) and the quesadilla (cheese wasn't melted, not very hot in general, weird and chunky) I don't know how you mess up a quesadilla...but they somehow managed it. Overall, I was okay with the whole experience until the bill came. My friend had ordered ONE double vodka soda...$14!! Yes my friends...$14!!
