I'm such a fan of diversity bars, even more so when the staff is rad and the food is tasty. This is definitely the case with Cyclops! I've been going to Cyclops for years, and one of the main reasons I keep going back is the Happy Hippy burger. It *was* the absolutely best veggie burger in Seattle. Beck, the world even, probably! It was. But no longer. :( For some reason Cyclops changed it. My friends and I are absolutely devistated! It was our favorite! Please, please, please bring it back! I'll always love you, Cyclops, but without the original Happy Hippy burger I think I'll be in a whole lot less. :( read more

From the uppity clientele to the apathetic waitstaff and overpriced food, this place is obnoxious as it gets. If you do have the misfortune of someone dragging you to Cyclops, get a beer as the mixed drinks are some of the weakest pours I've seen to date. Classic dive bar! We stopped in for some beverages after the NCAA tournament and ended up drinking the afternoon away. Dillon (Dylan?) our bartender was awesome. He was fun and kept us entertained. We had tacos as an appetizer and they were tasty. The atmosphere here is somewhat local, but as tourists, we felt really welcome. It was a great way to spend a rainy day! read more

I have had the opportunity to eat here during one of my many trips to Seattle. I went on a Sunday morning not long after they opened. We had their breakfast which I loved because it reminded me of back home. The vibe and decoration is eclectic and quirky which is cool becuase I am always up for something that is off the usual beaten path. Came in here for a quick drink and an appetizer. The place is very eclectic with a lot of interesting art on the walls and all over the place. The drinks were nice and stiff just the way I like them. I had an order of quesadilla's from the appetizer menu and it was just the right portion being not too little and not too much. Definitely not something you would share tho. Great location to my hotel but the service was just ok. We got there at 4pm and stayed to around 7. The bar never got more than half full and we had to wait for all our drinks. We finally gave up on table service and just went to the bar. I still don't understand the issue. We had a few apps that were fine but nothing fancy. The highlight were the regulars. This place is fantastic. A Belltown Icon! In fact, I love this strip of Belltown. It has three of my favorite spots, all very different but all very awesome! Belltown Pizza! Imperial Lounge (Peruvian,) and this One eyed gem! I've never had a bad dish here. Their brunch is fantastic as well! Personally I'm a HUGE fan of their Mango Chicken Salad! It's fresh, delicious, and they don't skimp you on the delish seasoned chiken. The staff is super friendly and fast. The owners are sweethearts. Go Cyclops!! I love this block! read more

bwahahahaaha i have no idea what the hell a "dive bar" is supposed to be. however, my friends will tell me this is it. Cyclops. i used to come here to get sloshed right before a concert, a night on the town, to the club, or getting arrested at 3 in the morning. it's all happened to my friends and i. i like the location of Cyclops. right back in the middle of Belltown, every else on the block seems too much... from wanna-be swanky clubs and annoying lounge/bars nuzzled right in between the streets, Cyclops is humble and low-key. fast forwarding to the present time... i don't think it's what it used to be. or i'm just getting too old to hang out in belltown. lol read more

First of all, this review is for their brunch menu and not for the bar. Overall, another average dining experience. The food was decent as was the service. We basically ending up going here because the wait for Macrina was going to be too long. So we really weren't looking for much and that's about what we got.... yup that pretty much sums it up. read more

This is a drinks only review. This is a great kind of a divey type of a place. The only thing that confuses me is that this was the most expensive cocktail I had in my entire duration of Seattle. At $9.50 for a strong cocktail served in a pint glass the value was ok- but the drink was only ok. I'm giving the place 4 stars because I liked it quite a bit. However, if I were to rate the patrons (which I am not) I would only give them 2 stars. The motley crew that happened to be there seems like they were locals that seemed absolutely flabbergasted that other people had discovered the bar. read more

My bf called this his local hangout bar before I moved here. He frequented it often and got to know the friendly bartenders. I've only been here a handful of times but the food I've had was very tasty. I like the cyclops they grill into the pita for their pita/hummus appetizer. This is the perfect local pub... Great food and great drinks. The menu is small yet appeals to just about everyone. As a person who typically doesn't stray far from hamburgers and chicken strips, I find myself ordering items with more unknown ingredients than known ingredients. The service is always fast and friendly. The hot sauce is the best I have ever had (and available to purchase). I will absolutely be back... Within the next week. read more

I would say 3.5, but leaning towards 4 stars, so here it is. My wife and I were visiting Seattle and had Cyclops recommended to us. We went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon (1:30) and I made the mistake of ordering a beer beer before I realized they were still serving breakfast. So, at that point, I am pretty much going with lunch. Not at all disappointing considering the lunch we had. I had the pulled pork sandwich at the recommendation of our server (also the bartender, who by the way was great.) I would give the pulled pork a 7 out of 10. It was very flavorful and tender, but there was something about it that had a slight dry quality to it. It is being a little ticky tac, but I don't just throw out 10's to any old pulled pork sandwich. My wife had the blue cheese burger and it was incredible. The burger tasted great and the blue cheese was an excellent contrast to the grilled onions and the garlic spread. Along with our microbrewed beers, the meal was awesome. It was so good that we went the next morning for breakfast (only served on the weekends). Maybe our expectations were too high, but neither one of our meals overly impressed us (hence the 3.5 stars overall). I had eggs benedict and thought it was average. My wife had an italian sausage omellete (chicken sausage and cheese) which was original and flavorful, but did not knock her socks off. Last Monday my boyfriend and I stopped here for a bite before the Pearl Jam concert. I ordered the bleu cheeseburger, ordered medium. I've been here quite a few times and really enjoy the food. The happy hippy burger is delicious and the fries with chipotle ketchup are to die for. That being said, the service is some of the worst I've seen. Several of my visits involved never having my soda or water refilled, waiting around 40 minutes for my food and waiting almost as long for the bill. I brought my boyfriend here once because I'd been raving about the food. I thought we'd give the service another chance. We were seated and waited about half an hr to be approached by the server. My boyfriend is not impatient but after that long we decided to leave. For me this is just unacceptable. Come for the food but don't expect any sort of decent service. read more

Although we only had drinks, this was the second time we've been there and the drinks are strong enough, the service is chill and the atmosphere is perfectly laid back if you want to get away from the meat-market that is Belltown. I think Cyclops is fantastic! Their food is definitely above par for the (awesome) dive bar it is. And while I LOVE a good dive bar, I think it scores double points for being able to produce yummy stuff out of their kitchen. The Panther Room is right up my alley as far as decor and clientele. I always feel comfortable there, they carry great beers, and the rotating soup is always to die for. One star is missing solely because the service can be a tad slow/neglectful and sometimes a little less than warm... but I love it nonetheless! read more

Best burgers in Seattle. I've been coming here for years and have never had any problems. When I used to live in the neighborhood, I would frequent the bar but it's not really my scene. As a restaurant, it's one of the best for burgers. When my family members arrive in town we always bring them here so they can experience it. My favorite burger is the Cyclops one eye burger. I love the fried egg on top. My wife always gets the Bueno burger and the Bleu cheese burger is my sister in law's favorite. read more

One of the few places I'll go in this area of Seattle. While the rest of this strip is packed with Dudeman, Lookatmegirl and their pals, this place stays calm, cool and breathable (despite the pepper spray incident). Sure the service is slow, there's usually some old dude who can't walk and I never know where I can sit, but I can hear my friends and the patrons are friendly. Beware the outside tables. They all rock and often result in serious spills. read more
