I love the food here when I'm in need of a beefy burger. I usually get the Super Bueno or the Blue Cheese burger and they are both good. Juicy beef and toasty yet soft bread. The ketchup has a nice touch of spice for a side of french fries. read more

Oh gosh! So goooooood! When it comes to YELP reviews for restaurant's I generally have a rule that I need to eat there 3- 5 times to make sure that I give a legit review...it seems to make my call based more on consistency rather than someone having a bad day. First off....whether you eat meat or not...you MUST try the Happy Hippy Burger! Otherwise the menu is eclectic, funky, and yummy...the quality is consistent, and I never leave hungry or dissapointed. They also have nightly desserts....if you happen to be there when they have the Strawberry Shortcake, make sure you get that. If you just want some snacks and get some drinks, its a good spot as well. Attached is the Panther Room- so fun! Bartender is really cool, and friendly. The only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars, is one of the waitresses. We have had 5 or so different servers, 4 are amazing and friendly....but of course there is that 1 that always looks so pissed, and generally makes the dining experience less than pleasant. You will be able to tell who she is when you walk in...so just go sit in the bar instead :) read more

Very relaxed, intentionally divey feel. The atmosphere, menu, and staff all seem to exude "casual and quirky," with eye-catching and sometimes funny decor, very chill and approachable servers and bartenders, and a menu of pub standards with a lot of twists and unique takes. The food offerings don't exactly spoil you for choice, mostly sandwiches and burgers, but I respect a restaurant that sticks to what it knows. The vegetarian options in particular struck me as appetizing, more thoughtful and complete meals than your typical dive bar might offer, so I'd rate this five stars for vegetarians and vegans. The girlfriend's Cuban sandwich was a real winner, my burrito was okay but a real mess to eat and kinda tough carne asada. We'll almost certainly return, and if I lived in the neighborhood I think this would quickly become my go-to bar. Didn't seem like they got too awfully busy or were in any hurry to turn over tables on the Saturday we were there, so I could also see bringing a project or a board game here and drinking away a pleasant afternoon. read more

I had a really great brunch experience here with family and friends. Food was tasty and the service was top notch. There seem to be just one waitress but she was doing a hell of a job and she was very accommodating to our large group and my baby girl. There's nothing like great service! Went here with a friend for dinner on a weeknight around 6:30. A few people at the bar, a few more at tables. Service was very good. Our food came out within ten minutes of ordering. I had the Bueno Burger, and it was delicious: nice brioche bun, tasty off-the-grill flavor. Fries and the accompanying chipotle ketchup were AWESOME. Tried my friend's pulled pork and that, too, was above average. We shared a mojito and a mango margarita. The mojito sucked (waaay too sour), but the mango margarita was very tasty even though it was kind of weak. Overall, though, not worth the $9 price tag. read more

Cyclops has a n interesting atmosphere: velvet Elvises, plastic schoolroom chairs, and a staff very much into body mods. Put together, I find it very appealing -- almost as appealing as the menu. Try the polenta or the hummus plate, both with a depth of flavor that may surprise you. The cocktail menu is varied and complete enough to make going for drinks a worthwhile trip too. I've seen a lot of negative reviews centering around the staff, but in the handful of times I've been there I've had perfectly adequate, if not overly zealous, service. Guess I was never there during cranky girl's shift. Basically, if you're in Belltown but not in the mood to deal with the popped collar crowd, Cyclops is a pleasing choice. read more

I like the food at Cyclops. The menu is a bit limited, but the food is consistently good. I also like the kitchy decor and fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the fun stops there. The service is terrible - in fact, it's downright bitchy. We seemed to be inconveniencing our waiter just by being there. Apparently the staff here doesn't realize (or care) that they work for tips. You should really only go here if you have no other options and can deal with lots of attitude from a non-welcoming and indifferent staff. read more

I had the special omelet which was with basil, goat cheese and zucchini. Tasty! Waiter said I could swap the fries out for a side salad for an extra $2. It was a good choice but not too sure if it's worth the extra cash. Coffee was OK. My boyfriend ordered the Hippie Veggie burger and it was delicious. Extra crispy! Waiter was friendly. I was going to write a really great review about this place. Nice atmosphere...Very clean, and the service was good. I thought The food was even really good. I ordered just a plain grilled chicken sandwich on cibatta bread. Great fries and sandwich was good. My bf ordered one of the hamburger's. Big mistake. He said it was great. This was early afternoon yesterday. He woke up at 2am throwing up and sill he is continuing to get sick. We narrowed everything else down. No 24hr, flu bug. He never get's sick. Sadly we did enjoy this place, but will no longer be returning because of this experience. If you do decided to go...Stay away from the hamburger's or you too could end up very sick. read more

First time to Cyclops was awesome. Breakfast was a quick walk from our hotel and was spectacular. Hubby had the Migas and I had the Cyclops omelet. We couldn't have been happier with both the service and the meal choices. Both dishes were fantastic and tasted fresh...especially the omelet. The kalamatas, spinach and feta were phenomenal. Coffee was great and the sides included with the dish were tasty. We definitely would go back for this meal. We heard when we were there that they only serve breakfast now on Sat. and Sun. Went back on Saturday night for desert an drinks and did not get the same great service as breakfast. The creme brulee itself was really great...and the beer was good too, however the waitress could care less that we had been there before and really didn't want to carry on any type of conversation at all. That was pretty much a turn off all together, but oh well. It kind of made us not want to go there again (which we didn't during our trip, cause my hubby was not please with the service). read more

It's not likely I'll be back, at this point. The food? Really good, don't get me wrong. The service has always been spotty, and lately, it's just turned to crap. The bartender would rather play karaoke night than serve drinks, every time lately I've been there I've seen at least 1 person per hour walk back out without ever even seeing a staffer after 10 minute, just not worth it. The dcor is very modern and unique. There are unusual, but original, paintings and art hanging on the wall. Anything from Elvis to a large nail-encrusted wooden cross to dark paintings of sad kitties and puppies with big eyes were on the wall. We started our brunch with chocolate chip muffins, which were advertised on the chalkboard in the entrance. They were "fresh out of the oven", and seriously the most delicious muffins I've ever had. They were warm and moist on the inside, slightly crunchy on the outside. For my meal, I had an omelette with olives and mushrooms, which I'm not a fan of, but this omelette wasn't bad. It came with a side of toast and home style fries, which were really chunks of little potatoes. The fries were the best chunks of potatoes I've ever had. They were perfectly seasoned and very crunchy, and which I love. I can't figure out why they got bad ratings here. The food was pretty good and the service wasn't bad either. read more

Horrible customer service. Some friends and I decided to have a few cocktails after catching a movie at Cinerama on Friday. Arrived at around 10:00 and while the bar wasn't too crowded we luckily snagged a table close to the door. I ordered two double vodka tonics (well vodka) from the bartender at the bar - came in pint glasses. The server, different from the bartender, was going through cleaning tables and we had to get his attention to order another round. Never once asked how we were doing. Second round came and at around 11:00, we decided to call it a night and ask for our check. $52 was the total for the 4 cocktails - $13 each. We decided to stop the bartender and ask about the math. "Well, 6 plus 6 is 13 and, I mean, you are downtown and this how much you're going to have to pay." Dumbfounded, our response was "but the total for each cocktail is $13 and we can go to Capitol Hill and get one of these for less than half?" After some more back and forth, we decided not to pursue any more arguing and closed out with a minimal tip. Three of us are waiting for our buddy who was closing his tab outside. The bartender comes out to the street corner where we are standing and says, "Did you really only leave me this much?!? You know what? You can go back to Capitol Hill!" And then she walked back inside. Wow, wow. wow...never go back again. read more

I'm updating this for any vegans reading the Cyclops reviews. Vegetarians and omnivores, go forth and enjoy. But fellow vegans, I advise you to not bother coming here if the veggie burger (Happy Hippie) is your goal (though the hummus plus pita is yum). In order to make the burger vegan you need to replace/remove the cheddar, the aioli, and the brioche bun. What are you left with? The patty and the caramelized onions, and the bread they will give you to replace the bun. That would be all good and well if you can expect that there is no miscommunication between the waitress (who completely seemed to understand I was ordering a vegan meal) and the kitchen, because what I received was the patty, onions, bread, and *cheddar* plus Parmesan cheese sprinkled all over the salad I substituted for fries. Well, I guess that's what happens when you make too many modifications to your order. And that's what's necessary here, so I'm not planning to try my luck here again. read more
