The food was spectacular in my opinion and my boyfriends, we both enjoyed the food A LOT and so did my 1 year old. Not only that the service there was amazing, the waiter i had was so sweet and caring, she made sure we had everything we wanted and needed for the time being there. DAY TWO OF SPRING BREAK!!! 03/14/2023 After enjoying a nice three-mile run at the park, hubby and I were starving! This establishment came as a recommendation from a friend of my husband's and we decided to go for it. I'm so glad we tried it out, especially after being disappointed with a different breakfast/brunch place the day before. Upon entering, there wasn't a hostess at the entrance, so hubby and I stood waiting because we didn't know what to do. Remember, it's our first visit. Luckily we didn't wait too long because the hostess came running when she noticed us waiting for service. The place was crowded, but there were a few available tables and booths. Our hostess found a booth that I was most comfortable with because I'm extremely particular by where I am seated. She was so kind and patient. I wish I would have gotten her name. First, the customer service by our server Cassandra was good. It wasn't great but just good, which is okay with me as long as you're not rude or unpleasant. We didn't have to wait long for her to make her presence because she immediately came over and took our drink orders. I ordered hot coffee with hazel nut creamers and hubby ordered orange juice. When she brought our drinks to our table, I instantly noticed red lipstick spots on the coffee cup and I wasn't wearing any and I hadn't even tried the coffee yet, so I knew that the lipstick wasn't mine. I wiped the cup with a napkin to confirm my suspicions and they were right as the lipstick stains were coming off the cup onto the napkin. I wasn't too upset because mistakes happen. They need to be more aware of this issue in the future. As for my hubby's orange juice, he complained that it wasn't cold at all and that it was lukewarm! Ugh! We did not bother the waitress about fixing the temperature of the orange juice but I definitely addressed the issue with my lipstick-stained coffee cup. I was immediately brought a fresh and clean coffee cup and the hostess apologized about the whole situation. The coffee was very hot like I like it, but it was weak. I prefer strong coffee, lol. Nevertheless, I did enjoy it. Secondly, for our breakfast, we both ordered the Hearty Breakfast. I had a Belgian waffle and two fully cooked sunny side up eggs which was accompanied by chicken sausage patties and grits. Hubby had a pancake and two scrambled eggs for his Hearty Breakfast which was accompanied by grits, two chicken sausage patties, and toast with an extra side of hash brown at an additional cost. We both enjoyed our breakfast immensely. Everything was spot on. The grits were actually hot and not cold or lukewarm. The eggs were cooked to perfection and not burned or scorched! The pancakes had a delicious and undistinguishable flavor to them. The Belgian waffle was buttery and crunchy. It was so good that I did not need any syrup. Lastly, we enjoyed our overall dining experience. I highly recommend this establishment for good quality breakfast items and good service. I gave them four stars based on the food and the customer service. However, the lipstick-stained coffee cup that was served to me caused me to hold back one star. They are definitely worth trying again. We will be back! read more

I guess a lot of folks like this place, but I have some gripes after my visit. The prices were relatively high, but I guess everywhere is nowadays. For those of us with egg allergies or just don't like eggs, they will take the eggs off, but they will not substitute for a side of equal value. The bathroom is also dirty. Coffee was one of the worst I have had in a breakfast restaurant. My husband's eggs in his Benedict were over cooked and the rest of the Benedict ingredients were off. My poached eggs were fine and the potato and bacon were tasty, however my biscuit was a bit dry and dense. Not coming back. Service was fine. read more

Hands down a pure gem in Cypress! This place does breakfast justice!! Big portions match the bold and flavorful, from scratch homemade meals! I've been here several times now and it's consistently good. Food is fresh, and you just get that home cozy vibe. Bustling with patrons past lunch time on weekends, and always crowded and packed. The place seemed like a little hole in the wall which is one of our Favorite type or places . The place was busy and we went on a Friday so I can imagine the weekends . This place is right down the street from my house and I finally got to try it out this weekend with the family and I was not disappointed! When we arrived there was a line of people waiting outside like usual when I drive by, however they are very organized at getting people in as quickly as possible. We waited maybe 5-10 minutes. Once inside and seated we were immediately greeted by our waitress Kirsten. She got our drink orders out immediate and left us with refills for all the drinks. I thought this was a smart touch since it was so busy. A few minutes later she took our order and our food came out fairly fast after ordering. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious! My husband and I both got the hearty breakfast, I got two scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and pancakes. Eggs were fresh not those fake eggs you get at some restaurants, sausage was flavorful, hashbrowns were perfectly cooked and the pancakes well those were the star of the meal. I can't say why they were so good but they were some of the best pancakes I've ever had and my family all agreed. I honestly can't find one bad thing to say about this place. Kept hearing everyone rave about this place. Tried it this morning on my way out of town and was highly disappointed. Restaurant cleanliness was awful and the food sub par. I arrived at 8am, only about 6-7 tables sat. Asked for a booth and they sat me near the front where there are partitions between the booths. Service was great, nicest waitress, only positive about my experience. The partition I faced was covered with greasy handprints from kids, looked like a food finger painting project. Then looked around me to see this on ALL of the partitions as well as stains on the wall, crumbs on seats and food on the floor. Already debated leaving when I saw this, was really disgusting. Menu was tattered plastic, dirty looking and also greasy to the touch. My hope at this point was that the food was decent. Ordered the hearty breakfast with side of fruit and bacon and 1 pancake. Bacon was good, pancake okay, eggs were fluffy but tasted like powdered eggs, fruit was RANCID. I'm still polite and take it all with a grain of salt. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years at some of Houston's most iconic restaurants so the way I normally handle things like this is don't complain, just don't go back, lessons were learned. The only thing I pointed out to my waitress was that the fruit was rancid and she was kind enough to give me a discount (even though I didn't task for one). Again, great service. Leaving this review because I'm having more and more experiences like this around Cypress and it makes me sad what people settle for out here and label it 'amazing'. I expect this kind of atmosphere at Denny's/Waffle House/iHop bc the food is incredibly cheap and you get what you pay for. To Cypress Breakfast House staff: Take pride in your job, regardless of where it is. Keep a clean work area, make sure the food you serve is excellent quality (that note for kitchen staff) and the service you give is service you yourself would like to receive. I think the reason the restaurants I worked at in the past remained so successful was not only due to the food we served but the cleanliness of the establishment and the staff. I HATED doing side work after we closed, everyone hates it, but it kept the restaurant clean and kept people coming back. Great service, they have that down, but the rest of the place needs improvement. read more

Update review: was in there last week, I recommend getting the breakfast platter if you want more of a traditional breakfast, but DO NOT ORDER the chicken & waffles. It was the worst fried chicken I've ever had, when I got my plate it didn't look like your traditional chicken & waffles, the chicken didn't look like a breast or tender, it looked like something out of a scary movie, and I couldn't even eat it. Highly disappointed that had to throw my whole breakfast away. Hope this helps anyone if you're thinking about ordering the chicken & waffles. read more

It was pretty busy on the morning of Christmas Eve, and after my meal, I wondered why so many people had decided to eat here. I was not impressed. The service was decent, but the food was not good, specifically the biscuits and gravy. It was pretty bad actually. If I ever do decide to go again, I will definitely be ordering something else. I'm definitely not a breakfast person which is why I got steak and eggs but I am a French toast person and their French toast is so fluffy and delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection of choice and I asked for rare- yes rare in the morning. It came out to be medium rare but still no complaints because it was pretty flavorful. I got it with over easy eggs, white toast, and a cup of seasonal fruits. My brother got the French toast sandwich and it was STACKED. It's French toast with cheese, sausage, and egg topped with strawberry sauce. It was kind of dry but adding syrup definitely helped with that. The biscuit and gravy was pretty good. Very creamy and fluffy even under all of that goodness. The service was great, staffs were so sweet and checked up very often. Tucked away in the corner of a fairly non-descript strip center, this local gem knows breakfast well. The menu is vast with omelets, skillet breakfast, eggs, waffles, pancakes and Benedict's with all kinds of accoutrements. Our party had the Mexican skillet and egg dish and some French toast. All were accompanied by a good fresh cup of coffee and plentiful creamers. The French toast was particularly good, battered light and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. The Mexican skillet was more than my 21 year old son could eat and lord knows that never happens. They also were quick to honor his request of both corn and flour tortillas. My coworker recommended this breakfast spot, so I decided to try it out myself. The commute wasn't bad because I stay in the Timbergrove area near the Heights. I like how the outside looks brand new yet the inside gives me like an older diner, old school vibe. There was music playing in the background. I ordered the stuffed French toast which came with strawberries and blueberries. I added bananas for an extra 99cents I believe, and it was totally worth it. Omg, it was so good. Visited on a Saturday morning around 9-9:30 am and the parking lot was packed and there was about a 20 minute wait for a table. The restaurant is small inside and they don't have much of a waiting area so most people waited outside. I ordered the French toast which was average. They didn't have many coffee options - just regular brewed coffee or iced coffee but you can't get a latte for example so that was a big let down. The best thing about this place was the service. All things considered, this is not a place I would come back to for a quality breakfast that's worth the wait. read more

My family and I had brunch here yesterday. What a great find. Yelpers helped us find this place. Everyone had different breakfast items. I had the Mexican Skillet. It could have been spicier for my taste but was very tasty and was a large portion. The other dishes were French toast, Buenos Benedict, grits a cheese, and the croissant sandwich.
