We had a rodent problem and not a small one, we had Raccoons!. For the longest time, we thought that there were squirrels in our attic and we tried to get rid of them ourselves - Didn't work. We looked up a few companies and had quotes from a few but in the end went with Cypress critters & Pests. One thing that made our decision easy was the knowledge of the people. Jerry came over for an inspection and did a thorough one. Outside, inside and then went into the attic with me. "You don't have a small animal in here", said Jerry. He instantly knew what we were dealing with. It was like he knew already what was there and what they have been doing - Raccoons and they also had babies. Jerry made sure that he goes over the whole process with us in detail. Sealing the house so nothing goes in or out, catching the Raccoons, disinfecting the house etc. Very detailed. He also educated us around the nature of rodents and how they work. We started the process and Jerry first completed the exclusion process and only left one hole open in out soffit vent, where he thought the Raccoons were coming in and out from. He put a hanging cage there (pretty cool) and the first night we caught the mama. We called Jerry and he came in first thing in the morning to collect her. He then sealed the hole and put cages in the attic and in the next 4 days, we caught 4 kid raccoons, they weren't babies but adolescent. Couldn't believe that we were living with 5 Raccoons. Fantastic job from them!!! Mike and Jerry were very responsive and quick. We called/texted them at odd hours and they always responded and came and took care of the problem. They are also very humane and we were also concerned with what was going to happen to the animals, they made sure that were safe and went into the wilderness, not in our house. They even kept the mother till all pups were found so they are all released together. We would highly recommend Cypress Critters & Pests. These people are very knowledgeable, skilled and helpful and mostly, have a great character. Take care of the problem from the root so it doesn't happen again. Thank you guys!!! P.S. It is a little long but worth the read!! I am so happy to share this review with other potential customers. I got home on 4/19/2017 and heard a strange noise coming from my chimney so I asked my husband about it. He said it was probably birds playing with the top of the chimney. I knew it wasn't but I let him think that. The following morning I woke up and I could still hear it. I sounded like nails scratching on metal. So I decided to start looking for someone to help. I thought he was in the actually chimney so at first I thought to call a chimney person to remove it. Then after further investigation I realized it wasn't in the chimney but in the oxygen hose that goes to the fireplace. I called so many company's but all of them told me it would be 1 to 2 weeks before they could get here. That obviously would not work because I was worried if it died it would smell up my house and I would hate for an animal to die. A neighbor recommended Cypress Critters and Pests and to my surprise they were able to come out that day. Rheanan was the first to show up and Mike was soon to follow (This was a very interesting case and I am glad they both came out). So they asked if they could pull apart the fireplace, after a lot of investigating as well as trying other things, and they have someone who could dot it that knew what he was doing. I said sure whatever it takes. Half way through taking the fireplace apart we realized that we still would not be able to get to it. At this point we thought it was a squirrel. So the only other thing that could be done was to put a hole in the wall to get to the animal. Again I laughed and said whatever it takes to get that animal out safe. We eventually got it out and everyone was shocked to see it was a bird. They were so amazing and made sure the wall and fireplace got fixed as well as they cleaned up after themselves. We moved into a 1950s house last summer, and come November when it started getting cold, we realized some unwanted guests were getting into the attic and we could hear some noises and scurrying above us in the evenings. I called the first company that popped up on Google, Critter Control, had them come out to assess the situation, and was told I had a severe rat problem ( the worst he had seen in a while) and it would be $3K to get rid of the rats and close up the access points and another $10K to remediate the attic (remove all insulation, disinfect, and replace insulation with some special kind the rats don't like...). Needless to say I was freaking out. I found good reviews for Cypress Critter and Pests on Yelp and called them to come out and give me another quote. Michael and his wife were awesome and immediately eased my mind about the rats. Long story short... over the next couple of weeks, Michael, Jerry, and their whole crew came out, got rid of the rats (only 2!) and sealed up all the holes. Literally the day they finished sealing up the last hole, a rat came scurrying up to our back door in broad daylight and sat looking at me through the glass as if to say, "Hey, I can't get in! Open the door!" LOL. They did an awesome job and were so polite and professional the whole time, coming out on multiple occasions between trap checks, and finishing up the exclusion around rainy days, etc. I'm thrilled to have a 5-yr warranty on their work too as I'll have peace of mind come this November that I won't have the same problem!! I had a termite problem, so I came here to Yelp to find a good PC company. I had 10 companies come out and give estimates. Of the 10, I went with these guys, for several good reasons (in my mind). 1. They focused on KILLING the problem, not monthly / yearly contracts, which is great because, you know.... that's what PC is supposed to focus on - killing... 2. With my termite problem, they're the only ones that thought up a full treatment plan for the house, the yard, and the tree-stump site where the tree had to be removed. No other companies addressed the stump - 9 out of 10 ignored the stump. A few others addressed the yard. About half wanted to only hammer stakes into the ground and charge monthly to come check them, for the same price as CC&P, without any additional services. 3.But lastly, these guys genuinely care about the quality of work they do, and making sure it's done right. I've had big-corp pest control before, and those guys came with cute little pump up sprayers and tinkled their products onto my bricks. Yeah, not CC&P- Mike showed up with a freaking GAS POWERED ENGINE on his back and blew the neighbors' trees and all the bugs straight to hell, because Mike is awesome like that. Now, anything in my yard that moves dies - except for humans... and lawn mowers... and specific squirrels. Srsly, you need these guys. read more

From the initial contact with Mike, I knew this was the right choice. It was informal and he actually listened to what I was saying so he could give me the best estimate of what I would need to get rid of my sugar ants. Jerry was upfront, honest, and very knowledgeable. He investigated the issues, took pictures to show me what was happening and sat with me to discuss my options. We had some critters that we needed to get rid of and after reading all the great reviews on yelp, I'm glad we decided to go with Cypress critters and pest. We've used them many times and Mike and Rheanan have become more like friends than just a company to call for services. I'm blown away by their customer service...just tonight I found a bug (a weevil), then promptly texted Mike a picture to find out what it was. He personally called his entomologist to verify the bug and steps to be taken to get rid of it....all while I was on the other line. He literally did conference call to make sure I understood what to do to get rid of it. He's never tried to sell us anything we didn't need, which not only do we appreciate, but it is also hard to find these days. Mike and Rheanan both came personally and scoped out the problem and got us fixed up!! I had three (3) separate telephone conversations with Michael. I told him that my problem was finding a pest control organization that would actually perform the work. The last three organizations were awful. Their workers would stop by the house, walk around the house, leave me an invoice on the door and drive away. What they didn't know is that I work from home. I could see what they were (or weren't) doing. As soon as the workers left, I called the organizations and told them to not bother coming back. Cypress Critters and Pests is the best!! I bought a new house and had some sort of wasp bug invade my master bedroom and bathroom. I am allergic and have 3 cats. I was worried about being stung or one of my cats getting stung. I called to set up an appointment. Michael came out, got on my roof when Orkin wouldn't. I saw a small mouse in my bathroom closet at 9 am on a Sunday. I googled pest control that was available and Cypress Critters & Pests popped up. Where do I even start. As you look through reviews on here my name is on quite a few all of them 5 stars. This company has no experienced wildlife technicians employed anymore. The owner is a drug addict hasn't worked hardly in 3 years reasons for all the reviews about not getting a response. I would never ever recommend anyone use this company. Well things started with a family of bushy tailed bastards taking up residency in the attic. Every day we would hear them coming and going through a spot in the wall, near the roof. Contacted Mike and the critter termination squad. They came in, sealed every access point to the attic and set up a funnel trap. After a week we had one pissed off Mamma squirrel who got locked out and two trapped baby squirrels. Now the only only shuffling and rustling around we hear is from an 8 year old child. I highly recommend these guys and though we hope we don't have any other critter problems they will be the first ones we call in the future. read more
