These guys are amazing. I had custom brakes I planned to install on my A4 but ran into issues with a caliper and couldn't finish the job. I called around and no one would do the work because I was providing parts (I get that). Fortunately, D&D pulled through and did the work for a very reasonable labor cost. Totally saved the day for me. Sent a friend with his Land Cruiser to D&D who had a questionable brake recommendation from another shop. The D&D team did an inspection and let him know his brakes were fine and no service was needed. Lastly, today we had our RDX that has been neglected taken in for a full rotor/pad replacement. Job was done in 2.5 hours and $600. Only brakes place I'll use going forward. read more

I've been going to Don and Larry at D&D for over 10 years now and I will not go anywhere else for brakes. Not only are they consistently cheaper than most other shops, they only use good parts like Bendix, Wagner, Raybestos, etc. - no cheap garbage at this shop. they don't "recommend" work you don't need and they'll even rotate your tires for you when they inspect your brakes if you ask. I have always used another service for my auto issues (and I know nothing about cars!). I tried leaving on line a request for an appointment, then request for a Quote, but it took so long that I searched for someone to help me with a major brake problem nearer where I live in the North End. The reviews for D & D were positive in all the areas of my concern. Called, talked to Larry, the owner. His phone presence was excellent (I am in the retail biz, so am hyper-sensitive to service issues, phone presence, etc.). He immediately knew the history of this brake problem with my car, offered to get a refurbished part without my even asking, and gave me a firm quote including labor on the spot. I drove in 10 minutes later without an appointment, and Larry was as nice in person as on the phone. Without even asking for a Credit Card, he ordered the part to be delivered the following day. Checked out the car, confirmed the diagnosis, installed the part, did an excellent review of the car, recommended some things in the future, but did not try to scare me into other things to be done, and had the car ready for me by 2:30 pm. Picked up the car, and it is perfect. I will return to see Larry for any mechanic needs in the future, and will trust him to recommend me to anyone else. Yes, he was THAT good! Oh, and I finally got the quote from the service I have used for years, and it was for $800. Larry's quote, and final bill for $295! He is my guy for life! read more

Brought my Chevy Blazer in to D & D to get the rear drum brakes replaced. They quoted around $320 for the repair which was $200 less than Les Schwab. They finished the work that night and left my car outside of the shop for me to pick up. I was told over the phone when my car was finished that I had a rear axle leak which I confirmed with Waltz the next day, so I know D & D is honest and inexpensive. My brakes work perfectly now. I'm glad I went to this shop for a second opinion when I had problem with my brakes (was expecting to get a brake pad replacement and perhaps rotor resurface) last month. Short version: D&D (Larry) is HONEST and does a great job in fixing brake problem. Long version: Initially, I went to another shop (Affordable Tire Factory) in seattle area based on their very well review in yelp. I was told that the brake inspection is free and I could come in at 8, they did the inspection within 1 hour or so and they gave me a call telling that basically all my 4 brakes need to be fully replaced (all parts you can think of, e.g.: rotors, pads, caliper and hose ?) and they quoted me for 2 front brakes is $650 and 2 rear brakes is another $650. They told me because the brake pad was already gone for the front right brake and need to replace the rotor and caliper and the hose for the front brakes. They also told me that I will need to do the same for the rear brakes. I was expecting to spend $100 - $200 for brake pads / rotor resurface jobs but now I have to spend $1300 ??? It is hard to believe for me that suddenly all 4 brakes needs to be replaced at the same time. So I told them that I won't fix the car and I'll just pick it up, they asked if I can pick up the car now because the street parking is limited for his customers (Hey it is street parking - anyone can park there). They attempted to sell their service one more time though - "What if we just fix the front brakes ? so you just have to pay $650". Well, isn't that weird ? If there is really problem with front AND rear brakes, all should be fixed, not just partially... I didn't know what they did but then when I took the car, my car alarm was blaring like crazy out of the blue - and that never happened to me before - and they said they didn't do anything to the car (Hmm... the car alarm is acting weird out of the blue after I told them I wasn't going to use their service ?). Then I went to D&D brake, there I tried to fix the alarm my self by reading from the web how to disable it and finally met Larry, he said he'd look into it and let me know in 30mins. His findings is similar BUT he never said all brakes need to be fully replaced. What I need is replace 2 brake pads, 2 calipers, 1 rotor and 1.5hours labor all costs me $380. Rear brakes is fine but will need to replace the pads and resurface the rotor soon - which I can do after another 5k miles or so if I'm tight on $ and he quoted me $240 for that. If I were to get everything done, it would have cost me $620 in total instead of $1300, but I decided to do the rear brakes next month and only fixed the front brakes and my car is running perfectly fine now! Bottom line, D&D Brake Services is an honest and professional shop without sales pitch, they work fast and did a great job! Oh btw Cash is King ! read more

That was a wise decision. I was able to get in the next morning. I was greeted by Tom with a friendly smile and a professional attitude. I instantly felt that he was trustworthy. It just went great from start to finish. And we saved $200 from the dealership's pricing. He was also kind enough to look at our tires. This place is amazing. The guy who worked with me was incredibly nice, and they're affordable. I got the "$50 for $75," Yelp coupon, was quoted $290 (plus tax) for brakes and rotors for the front of my car, and walked out having paid $240 (including tax). No on tried to take advantage of the fact that I very obviously know nothing about cars and would more than likely fall for whatever they threw at me. I bought an aftermarket brake sport brake kit online for my car and I was looking for a quality install work at a reasonable price. I contacted other brake/custom shops in the area and I was quoted almost double for what D&D charged me. My car is on air suspension with wheel spacers and rims. Maybe that's why other shops charged so much, but these guys are fair. I waited only a couple of hours and the brakes work well with no issues! They also respected my request of hand torquing my rims back instead of an impact wrench. I'm definitely coming here again for any brake needs. read more

I went in with my Iq to have the brakes looked at as they were squeaking up a storm. They found the front rotors and brakes both needed replacing. They were able to quickly do the job. The next day I noticed the rear brakes still seemed to have a squeak. I brought it in a second time and they cleaned the brake pads and disk getting rid of the squeak. They did not try to sell me a new pair of breaks for the rear tires that I did not need and did not charge me for the second visit. I actually had an appointment somewhere else when I saw the great reviews here and decided to cancel and try D&D instead. I'm glad I did. They were able to do my front brakes, a brake fluid flush, and clean the rears(including tightening the parking brake) for less than I was quoted elsewhere for just the fronts. They were extremely friendly and answered all my questions and got me in the next day. Don't let the run down Aurora neighborhood location scare you away from a great experience. I'm very impressed with how much better the brakes are working now too. Night and day. Called at opening on Monday. Told me to come in one hour. Problem was bad wheel shake from warped brake rotors on a 2007 Tacoma with an extra 750lb of Four Wheel Camper in-bed. After inspection guy came out and told me that the front pads were still at 70% and even tho my wheel shook like a mo-fo that my truck was still safe until the pads wore out; D & D was not trying to gouge me. I wanted the shaking to stop so I told them to fix it anyway. Recommended a better upgraded carbonized rotor over machining or replacing stock rotors - which would soon overheat and warp themselves from my camper-rally driving style. Quoted me $375 for both left and right full job - came out $415 with tax 2 hours later. Waiting room is plenty comfortable with 2 sofas WiFi and TV. Got a Saturday appointment on Friday. They were running 30 minutes late but did the brake pad change and light rotor resurfacing within two hours.
