Leading with 1 star for the girl scooping ice cream and doing coffees to-go. She was wonderful! On the other hand, never giving the seating/cafe a single penny. With it being nearly 100 degrees outside, 4 adults and two 5 year old kids all got ice creams and coffees and the woman at the hostess stand would not let us sit inside to cool off despite us being paying customers with the entire inside seating area being completely empty. It's insanely hot, we have kids, purchased a decent amount and she made the comment "we have to pay the bills, only customers with menus can sit at the tables." Every table was empty except 1. How cruel and what ridiculously poor business practices. No wonder the place was empty. I imagine it's hard to "pay the bills" with customer service like that. read more

If i'm up in Piermont this is my usual stop for something nice to eat. Friendly and helpful staff and the owners treat all the customers right with their friendly service and getting to know the patrons. They have a large selection of sandwich choices at a great price. Large fridge section for drinks and their hot food for sandwiches are top notch. I'm a big fan of their fresh oven roasted turkey. It's a huge bird fresh, succulent, moist. It's great they even ask if you want the white or dark meat. It's my go to sandwich. Fresh turkey, cranberry, lettuce, and tomato. Yum Yum all the way. The variety of wraps and heroes are great too. You'll find everything from vegetarian to great combination sandwiches from corn beef, grilled veggies, or ham. They have a nice front window seating area. A bit small but has a great view. I usually bike up here on weekends and it's nice to see they are bike friendly by providing bike racks in front. I'll definitely be back. read more

Been here a couple times over last two years for food and beer to go. Good selection especially for those of us that like craft beer but the place is seriously overpriced, as in everything. Last year I got a 6-pk of bud light, a 4-pk of craft beer that I buy often that should have been $18-21 and a bag of ice. Was $38. Other visits with similar results. Only go when it's convenient and I'm prepared to have my eyes ripped out. Never ate there so can't comment on cooking. read more

This place used to be solid. Every time I'd come here the sandwiches were incredible. I just came thru today, and not only was the sandwich maker a smart-ass, his work was as tasteless as his humor. No pesto, no sauces, zucchini instead of eggplant, missing the thrice discussed tomatoes, and overpriced. Figs were great, parking lot experience enjoyable, and the cashier was nice. I am erasing this experience from my memory and will never be visiting Piermont ever again. Next time I'll donate twenty dollars to charity and eat a plain cheese sandwich instead - and I don't even eat cheese. read more

I remember sandwiches from their deli used to be better couple years ago, at least I remember my chicken sandwich was delicious, what I got last time was bland chicken slabbed w tons of mayonnaise on a not so fresh roll! Like the other reviewer mentioned, the price on the board doesn't reflect on actual price they charged! I also saw tons of ants crawling on the edge of open fridge where cheese cake and other desserts were! There's lunch special roasted chicken $7+ w pathetically limited and stale sides from the deli counter. They do have a huge selections almost like a small supermarket, including tons cereal and energy bars to attract weekend bikers at the entrance! Bikers stay away from their food! read more

This place is so cool, I was touring around recently and stopped here for a bite. For anyone who decided to try this place out, half is a pizzeria/bar and the other half is like a mini mart but the style blends in really well, it had almost a comforting feeling. We ended up ordering a small pizza pie, and it was amazing, The crust was perfectly crunchy yet fresh. We decided to try a white pizza as suggested by the girl working here and thank god we listened. The small pie was inexpensive and it was such a perfect serving size that we were able to fill up and even had left over! The waitress was attentive, sweet, and clearly knew what were the "must haves". I'd definitely suggest this place and I'd definitely come back again :) read more

Delicious sandwiches and local, General Store vibe. Had turkey sandwich on toasted ciabatta roll. Turkey was homemade, toppings were apple, honey mustard, endive, brie - great bite(s). Was in town for a bridal shower and stopped in for a cup of coffee. A pretty standard general store/market.. Has beer, deli counter, and typical grocery items like bread and snack foods. Nothing fancy though. The guy behind the counter was friendly and the coffee wasn't too bad, pretty cheap... Like a dollar and half from what I remember. I also bought what looked like locally made pretzels as I was starving... They were good.. Tasted a bit like sawdust. Overall, a no frills place that you can get a cup of coffee, pick up a bottle of water, any sort of basic need. read more

Great place, friendly and patient staff. I went on a busy weekend and they even made me a breakfast sandwich at 1PM (it was my first meal of the day!) I wish I had taken a photo of the sandwich because it was delicious. Get the bacon jam if you can, it has a slight spicy kick. Wish I could have eaten more here but I had to get back on the bike for another 20 miles so I didn't want to conk out. Also coffee is very good, not acidic, my only complaint would be the coffee had a little bit of grounds at the bottom, but it still tasted fresh in the afternoon. They have a lot of options like wraps and to go things because they are also like a mini supermarket. Bonus is on the weekends you can park yourself at the outdoor tables and watch all the beautiful bikes going by. So. Many. Bikes. I'll be back. read more

Finally, the Piermont community market has reopened. For us old timers, nothing will ever compare to when it had a great deli, great fresh bread ( Bronx bread!), AND anything you could need in the way of groceries. But after years of neglect, it is now a very nice shop/deli/cafe where you can have breakfast or lunch, ice cream, or a deli sandwich. It also has some very basic groceries, though mostly upscale. I was excited to see this market open! I've stopped by for milk and vegetables. The prices were slightly inflated for these items however in PIermont that is to be expected. One comes to this village for the energy and ambiance not the "good deals." Another time, I had an Italian Combo from the deli side. The bread was fresh, my fixings were perfect, and service was fast. It did not disappoint. I hope the owners will market themselves to bring in more customers, as a neighbor in this community, I want to see their business stay and thrive. Misleading prices at the sandwich bar. Bought a grilled cheese sandwich. Price was listed as $4. I was charged almost $8. When I said something, the clerk said that the sign was 5 years old and the prices had not been updated. He pointed out a printed piece of paper taped to the sign that said "prices subject to change without notice." Also the sandwich tasted gross. read more

You think your paying $5.50 for a sandwich which the board says and they charge u 7.50! They even charge to "toast" a bagel! As a long-term resident of the area I have seen this market change hands, open and close, several times. The current market has only been open a few weeks and is an impressive enterprise. The meat and fish on offer look like the absolute top of the line. They also have specialty items not available elsewhere like rabbit and incredible mushrooms. The takeout food looks delicious and there are tables and chairs in house. Thoughtful and considerate service throughout. Well worth a look. I dont know if I just went on a bad day or something, because there grilled chicken was old and not good. It smelled weird when it was warmed up in the microwave and i couldnt eat it. This place is called a market, but it is neither a market or a restaurant. I had lunch here with my husband to try it out. There was no service. We had to wait for the one person behind the counter who was serving 2 others. We ordered 2 sandwiches, which were nothing special and one coffee and one ice tea. The bill was $30.00. Disgusting. I worked here for 2 days before quittng. They dont even offer employees a hand wash sink, or plastic gloves. I was told to wash them after use, gross. The walk in box sits above 50 degrees, the basement is flooded and mold, and the food is disgusting. Better off going hungry. read more
