First and LAST time ordering take-out pizza. We had heard good reviews and I am astonished on what we got. Ordered a large deluxe pizza tonight- busy when we got there but told normal. The LIMITED ingredients were just thrown in the middle of the pizza which made the crust stick to the box - think was under cooked also. We struggled to find any sausage or pepperoni on the pizza - really did not see any!!! Tomato sauce was bland and basic. Two of the eight slices look like cheese pizza because the LIMITED ingredients were dumped in the middle!I It got worse as we tried to get the pizza out of the box - pizza fell apart and not better when we warmed up in oven, The worst part is we paid $30.30 for this mess. I will never order from this place again. Pizza Hut across the street offers a better value compared to D & LP - less expensive with more ingredients. If not for the rain and we live 25 minutes away I would have taken pizza mess back and demanded a refund. read more

We have only gotten to go food from here, but so good and picked hot! Service, at least for take out is awesome and special allergy concerns were perfectly executed. Did I saw it was good? Well it is awesome: Eggplant Parmesan - my FAVORITE, delicious, enough for two servings. Gluten free pizza - for my daughter, it is really good and can come dairy free. Great choice. Pizza - okay, this is what they are known for and they do not disappoint - cheesy goodness with all the toppings you expect. Hawaiian Pizza - my wife's favorite mix. Delicious and affordable! I got the mozz sticks and two slices of pizza (as you can tell I couldn't even wait to take a bite when I first got it). Inside is a small sitting area with TVs and small tables and bar seats. We decided on take out and ran in to pick it up but everyone inside was friendly. The girl that was working the bar area where you place and pick up orders was nice and also quick to get our order. This place has some good deals on pizza and they even do individual slices which I adore when you want to mix and match or everyone has different preferences. First time trying D & LP Subs and what a good time to do it. When watching the Eagles win the NFC Championship Game! When getting into this Cheesesteak the first thing I noticed was that it was loaded with meat. The cheesesteak also comes with grilled mushrooms, peppers, & onions unless other wise noted and I went with White American Cheese. Unfortunately they do not have cheese wiz but American is the next best for me so I can deal. Like I said it was loaded with meat but was missing out on cheese for me. I guess more meat is better then more cheese though. The meat is nice and tender though and well seasoned. For sure better then most cheesesteaks you get from a place that also specializes in pizza in Florida. Kind of reminds me of Philly where most pizza shops are also serving up great cheesesteaks. That's just not the case in Florida for the most part but D & LP's got it down. For sure a top 5 cheesesteak in Jacksonville but the tough part is there is a lot of competition in Jax Beach when it comes to the best cheesesteaks in the city. Would for sure come back if someone suggested it and would have to try a pizza. That's that's the best part about them. You get quality in both! read more

This place is amazing!! Super small, hole in the wall type place but we noticed immediately that it was packed with locals, which is always a good sign! My husband is from Buffalo, NY and has never found a comparable pizza/wing place in the south but this place WOWed him!! Attend this place, at least once a week because of how good their food is! The staff is always so happy and welcoming to everyone and their food. Everything about this place is just phenomenal! Subs were fair. Service was really good. My wife and I shared the Italian sub. The bread was great, but overall, the sub was marginal. Honestly, the Italian sub at Publix, which we had the next night, was considerably better. We wanted a good Italian sub so much that we had it two nights in a row, and the D&LP sub didn't get it. We are traveling, so I can't compare any other local sub shops, but I would not return to D&LP. read more

Good Italian grinder, hard to find in a lot of places so was a great meal. The pizza was good and with fresh ingredients, staff was pleasant and welcoming. They only have a few spots to sit so would suggest take advantage of the beach and plan to have your food to go but if you do fine in it is not a bad atmosphere. read more

I've been meaning to get to D & LP for what seems like forever and finally made it today. It's a fairly small dining room with just a few tables and two picnic tables outside. I really liked the pizza. My son and I ordered slices to go to eat in the car (The place was really crowded both Inside and out with mask-less folks in way too close proximity). The crust was my favorite part. It was very well cooked, thin, good consistency, not too salty or "doughy". When you bite into it, it had a nice tear it. I know that sounds strange, but a good slice will have some resistance without being crunchy. The sauce and cheese were well seasoned and it was served nice and hot. Really the only knock on the pizza, was the slices were rather small. Other than that, pretty good pizza. I'd suggest take out if it's crowded, just make sure to tip the staff, they are working hard! read more

I'd honestly leave more stars if it were possible because the D&LP crew are simply fantastic. The food is always amazing. I've probably tried their entire menu at this point and have never been disappointed. They offer free delivery, and I've always received my order before their promised delivery time. The online system is also great and easy to use. They've only messed up my order one time, and even that wasn't an issue. They quickly put another pizza in the oven for us, and redelivered the new one super quick. I'd post some pics of the food, but it was devoured before I even got the chance. I came here before a hair appointment, and I'm glad that I did. I didn't realize they had such great deals for dinner! For around $3, I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and a beer. It was one of the cheapest dinners I have ever ordered, and it was delicious too. The pizza was put in the oven to warm up and crisp, and there was the perfect amount of cheese and pepperoni. There were a lot of people in there, and there were a lot of carryout orders as well. Three stars b/c the staff was really friendly and the pizza slices weren't terrible. The dough and sauce are good, but the cheese is rubbery and there wasn't much sauce or pepperonis. The slices were also really greasy and kinda grossed me out. The inside is super, super small. While waiting for my pizza slices, I wanted to take a few pictures but I was squashed between the pepper sauces, the A/C, the bar and a four top table two inches behind me. My mom once told me in some magazine she read this place was voted the best pizza in Jax or Fl or the US. Honestly I can't remember but tonight I decided to try it. Ordered through door dash and everything was delivered in less than 30 mins- not sure how they were so quick. Thick crust pizza- can order in 8 or 16 slices. I got the 8. Pizza was good. Was it better than the rest of the city?... I don't think I can say that. But I would get it again. Ranch dipping sauce was great. Garlic knots with cheese- Not good. Awful. Honestly I ate 2 and then threw them away. Came with Marinara sauce. Wings- ordered Cajun ranch however they gave a ton of flavors to pick from. Surprised that these had a little heat. Cheesesteak night. 12" nicely chopped and seasoned meat, cheese throughout nice roll. Opted for lettuce and tomatoes to dress it up. Solid sandwich always on point. Services is fast , friendly and the people are always super nice. Nice neighborhood smallish shop with limited seating but take always seem like the way yo go. Fun to go and sit for people watching.
