Great car, great times, great people. This was awhile back. THEY restored the first Vette ever made, #1, a 1953 which is on display at the Chevy HQ in Detroit. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DO ABSOLUTELY ZERO WORK TO YOUR CAR. Zero work. Zero stars. Zero stars across the board. I first made an appointment with Thomas in April. It took him over 2 months to do the repairs even with having an appointment. The trans was leaking and we had a draw somewhere. After waiting months for the car we pick it up only to drive it home over an hour away for the trans to still be leaking and the battery still dying from a draw. We brought the car back to him 6 times in the last 4 months since first picking it up for him to honor the warranty and fix the issues. Still every time we picked up the car the trans was still leaking and the battery still dying. Now this last time we brought it we were having an issue with the driver side headlamp and asked for that to be repaired. When we picked up the vehicle yesterday and got it home the trans is STILL leaking, now BOTH headlamps are not functioning properly and for whatever reason the back right wheel wasn't bolted on and almost fell off the car while driving it. This is absolutely unacceptable and then when trying to address the situation was hung up on multiple times by Thomas and by the office manager even. I finally got the car I bought from them a few months ago to my mechanic to freshen it up for spring driving and regretfully found some notable problems. First, the sway bar bushings had literally disintegrated and the car couldn't be driven 20 feet without loud noises from the suspension. This wasn't disclosed prior to purchase. The lower paint and striping was in worse condition than l was led to believe with numerous chips and surface rust that is hard to believe on a low mileage car. The exhaust repair that they did looks like it was welded by a 10 year old and the pipes were misaligned as well. I'm having to fix and replace all of this. I would have probably still bought the car but the lack of transparency has disappointed me greatly. read more

My Car was there for work, I received a quote and agreed to having the work done. I was charged for storage, gas and a battery. The work was never done, but my car was stripped of all the good parts and I was told it was junk; they made me an offer for the junk car. I paid to have my car stripped of it's good parts and had to tow it away. I never thought that would happen to me, but I was warned. They were restoring a similar car at my expense. read more

I dealt exclusively with Dave Glass (Owner). Learn from my mistakes. Make sure that the consignment documents you sign contains specific language re: the consignment percentage you will receive of the actual sale price (DO NOT accept a "net sale range" amount). Also, you MUST require a copy of the sales invoice AND a copy of your signed title transfer be included with your check. (Do not accept "proceeds paid within three weeks of sale") If you heed my warning you will not be paying for any unauthorized services performed on your car, you will be paid the correct/agreed upon amount and you will be paid in a timely manner. If the Owner refuses to include this language in the consignment document take your car somewhere else to sell it! read more

Let me first start by stating the Service Dept. and Body Shop provide 5-star service!!! They took care of my 3 muscle cars over a 17-year period with maintenance, modifications and a body-off restoration. They take pride in their work and want to show it to you. I won multiple awards, including 2 best-in-show awards with the cars. The 1-star rating is from my experiences in selling two of the cars on consignment and how I was treated by the owner and the salesman. I had spoken with the owner many times in the 17-years I was a customer. I purchased two muscle cars from him. When I decided the time had come to pass the cars along, I spoke with the owner on how to do so. He recommended selling them on consignment. Sell one at a time. The first car sold quickly. However, getting the proceeds was a nightmare. The consignment agreement stated proceeds were to be provided within 3-weeks of the sale. It took more than two months, multiple phone calls, a plethora of excuses and finally stating I wouldn't leave without a check. This is how a long-time customer who had spent many tens of thousand dollars with the dealership was treated. The only apologies received were from the receptionist. The second car experience was worse. They wouldn't take the car on consignment giving one excuse after another for weeks. Again, 17-year customer. ( I think I only got the proceeds for the 1st car after stating I wouldn't ask them to take the 2nd car.) Ended up going to Bill Kay Classic Cars down the street and having it sell for a far better price than D&M stated it was worth. read more

Unfortunately this is the stereotypical used car dealer whose only focus is profit and thusly places customer satisfaction as a tertiary or lower priority. Purchased a vehicle from them for out of state shipment and was reassured repeatedly by the sales person (whose first name has the letter "D" within it twice and is has been mentioned in other unsatisfactory reviews) that every item on the car was functioning perfectly when in fact upon delivery the driver's door handle was broken, driver door power lock switch relay is not functioning correctly, driver's door window has a serious rattle and lateral movement when the vehicle is in motion, passenger door lock cylinder is broken rendering the lock unusable from outside of the vehicle, and the trip odometer is broken. When notified of these deficiencies, the dealer refused to rectify the most serious issues with respect to the doors as it inhibited access and egress of the vehicle. While it is a much older vehicle there is an expectation that a dealer is obligated to repair the most serious function and operation deficiencies in a vehicle or notify prospective purchasers of the aforementioned vehicle issues. Sadly, this dealer apparently fosters an environment where it is acceptable to deceive customers and disregard their complaints and concerns taking further advantage of the fact that the customer is located outside of their state and municipality rendering it impossible to present complaints and concerns personally. Secondly, they retained the Illinois title for nearly a month prior to locating it and mailing it to me due to the irresponsible action misplacing it (by their own admission) resulting in an inordinately long delay for title, registration and use in another state. The title was mailed via standard USPS First Class Post with a four-day wait for delivery reflecting a complete apathy for the requirements of the customer. In final review of this dealer the best that can be said was the vehicle was purchased at a mediocre or lower price given the amount of funds and associated effort that must be expended to correct it's deficiencies and that seem to have an ambivalent attitude with respect to customer satisfaction. Avoid purchasing from this dealer at all costs unless they are selling a must-have vehicle and best of luck to the prospective customer and more if the purchase is made from out of state as my experience was awful. read more

The vehicles they have for sale are somewhat overpriced, but that's not the real problem. Salesmen are arrogant and just downright ignorant. I had done my homework on a car that I was interested in using Carfax and General Motors. Carfax said that the car had been owned by 4 different people but when I confronted the salesperson about that he said, "you can't believe everything you read". I also asked how much horse power the GM 350 had and he said, "about 325. When I mentioned that GM rates it at 275 he just looked away. I mentioned I had a friend that was a classic car inspector, he said, "they're a dime a dozen". He is the reason that I purchased a similar vehicle from their competitor. They had little respect for me and my knowledge. D&M should have their staff trained to properly handle customers. read more

after they (D&M) admitted they screwed up, they agreed to give me some of my money back , after installing my air intake THE WRONG WAY,and letting me drive off their lot with ALL rear lugs loose, yes after installing rear spacers nobody bothered to tighten any of the rear lug nuts!!( someone could have gotten killed) after going to d&m again to get part of my money back, so I could get the job done right they screw me again and say no money. this prompted me to call the states att. and the BBB ,only to find out there are a lot of unhappy customers that have had problems with this shop. about the shop, they advertise for services they cant do, like dyno tuning ,they get you into the shop then refer you to their friends down the block !! so unless you like high prices (much higher than the estimate) headaches, sub par work ,bad attitudes and long wait times BEWRE OF THIS SHOP!!!!!! so save yourself a lot of headaches GO SOMEWHERE ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!! or just go in and look round and talk to the guy behind the counter you wont stay long. I made a very bad choice letting them anywhere near my car PLEASE DONT MAKE THE SAME COSTLY ALMOST DEADLY MISTAKE.
