I perused around and they have a wide selection of cakes and pastries that surely your palate will enjoy. You can opine about the authenticity of some pastry shops but D'ange bakery make some of the best pastries by far. They incorporate unique flavors like taro, purple yam, lychee and black sesame. But their store offers more than luxurious slices of cake; you'll also find individually wrapped Danish breads, pineapple buns, ham and cheese croissants and tiramisu. I ordered their Cream Cheese Danish and Blueberry Danish breads. They were soft, creamy, fresh and fluffy. Prices were fair and affordable. Staff were amiable, competent and followed health protocol. This is the perfect place to get a cake when dining at Newport Seafood (they are both on Las Tunas and also on the same side). My boys love cake and they don't care what's in it as long as it has fruit on top. I always eat according to season and the chestnut cake was the perfect cake for fall; after all the Mont Blanc cake is one of my favorites. The cake came in a beautiful box and the sweet ladies that work here gave me 10% off. Everyone loved the cake, the chestnuts were not puréed but they were soaked it rum. The cake was delicious! Looks so beautiful and is made with fresh mangos! The cake itself is not too sweet and I asked for less cream (it was still more cream that I had wanted, but is much less than what you would expect at an western style cake place). The actual mangos weren't completely ripe, but will have to do. Price: Very reasonable. I believe the mango cake was $30 and you can get a 10 percent off discount which brings down the price to $27 for a cake that feeds comfortably 8-10 people (but can actually probably feed 12-13 people if your guests don't eat too much) Sadly, it was pretty large that we actually ended up having too much leftover and wasting it. I am really pleasantly surprised by the quality of their baked items. a few of my favorites are the: PINEAPPLE BUN, MEXICAN COFFEE BUN, TARO BUN and MACAU STYLE EGG TARTS. what's so special about them to me? well the aforementioned breads are not as soft and mushy as most asian baked goods. I like that they don't collapse as soon as I bite into them and get all sticky on the roof of my mouth (like Wonderbread). they have a more firm texture, yet still moist, fresh and tasty. the tops of the pineapple and taro buns are sweet and crusty. the filling in the taro bun is taro paste and not overly sweet. the egg tart, I have had fresh out of the oven on a few occasions... lucky timing on my part, is generous in egg custard filling. I have tried their LYCHEE CAKE, which is pretty yummy! it has several layers of cake and whipped cream, but also layers of lychee gelatin, making this cake very refreshing and light. next on my list is the Green Tea Cake... and Taro Cake! if they had better customer service i'd probably give The Angel five stars, but so far I haven't let that hinder me from returning. I think these folks mean well but just aren't so sure about smiling... and I have gotten some good vibes from them, so maybe they're just rusty with the warm friendly thing? Came here from all the great reviews especially for their lychee cake. Went inside and was greeted by a nice cashier. She showed me all their cake selection and recommended their best seller which was their lychee cake. I looked around a bit more and decided to settle on the lycee however I did asked if it was prepared this morning or was it a left over from the previous day. She told me that they do not carry any day old cake and all of their cake was made fresh daily. So I picked the cake and they had to add floral decorations since it was just plain. After got home and placed the cake in the fridge until the time was right, brought out the cake and candles. We cut into the cake and it was a bit soft however when we took a bite, the cake bread layer tasted OK however the lychee was pretty sour and the frosting at the top was a geletin which I thought was cool until I tasted it and it was cream cheese. We had to throw out the cake because it was not fresh,obviously, and it wasn't THE LEMON sponge cake as we ordered. Stopped by here this past Sunday with my husband after picking up some fresh sashimi at Yama Seafood across the street (Also across the street is Golden Deli). We parked in the lot behind the bakery and walked in through the back. We were immediately greeted by the employee behind the cashier and were offered a sample of their cream cheese filled baked bread (according to this employee, this is one of their best sellers). It was soft and quiet pleasant. We ended up purchasing $15+ baked goods after browsing their selection and paid in cash ($20 minimum credit card transaction is rather a bit high, or you can pay a $0.50 charge with credit card under $20). We purchased 2 different kinds of taro filled buns, one pineapple bun, one pumpkin bread and one cream cheese filled bun as well. Each of the baked items we had over this past week has been great (some were better heated in the microwave though). Overall, really enjoyed this bakery. The prices are pretty fair, especially for the size of their buns and taste. Employees here are very friendly (much friendlier than most Asian bakeries). I wanted to cut straight to the chase but the woman behind the counter was busy helping another customer so I had no choice but to take a look around. With so many bakery options in the area, this one's priced on the higher side *shrugs*. I grabbed a taro buo luo bun and a sweet bbq pork bun before heading to the counter where the egg tarts were waiting, cozily nestled behind the heated glass case. Two please. High five yourself if you brought cash because there's a $20 minimum for credit card transactions. They charge a small fee otherwise. The Macau style egg tarts were delicious. The thin crust could have been a bit firmer and flakier, but the rich, bountiful custard filling just hits the spot and checks off all the boxes. I fought hard to not eat the second one before dinner. The taro and bbq pork buns were both also very good, having just the right amount of flavored filling and sweetness to satisfy, while leaving room for you to want a little more. I remember the first time I went here. It's in a little plaza and would never expect what is about to occur. You walk through the door and the smell tranquilizes you. There are so many amazing deserts and breads to choose from that it's literally overwhelming. My favorite is the jalapeño bread and the egg tarts but honestly everything here is my favorite. Ordered the night before a black sesame cake for mom's bday. Was sooo delish, they don't use preservatives so you're getting real whipped cream etc. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious and light it was. Also beautifully decorated! It's not too sweet has good black sesame flavor and the cake sponge is moist and light. The box it comes in is really neat too it's black with a pretty red ribbon and is wrapped like a present. I really wanted this to be my new go-to bakery but really disappointed in the customer service. On one day, I spent about $100 here and most of what I ordered had issues. I ordered 3 cakes in advance and all 3 of them had problems. On the sesame cake, I specifically asked for no grapes and it was confirmed by text, but when I arrived, there were grapes on the cake. On the tiramisu cake, we confirmed the design, but it looked completely different than the design I wanted. With the mango cake, while the mangoes tasted great (they were fresh), the cake itself was completely dry. It was probably the driest cake I have ever had (it completely crumbled when we tried to cut the cake). I told the owner of the bakery about all the issues afterwards and all she says is, "I told the baker already when you ordered. Maybe he forgot. You can ask to change to blueberries." I told her I had already left the bakery and all she said was that she will tell the baker. There were no apologies or anything. I actually wanted to give this place another chance because their cream cheese danishes are pretty good, but not only am I disappointed with the cakes, I'm especially disappointed with the customer service. All they had to do was apologize and offer to make it up to us on the next order (or she can even offer giving me one of the cream cheese danishes and I would have been happy!). But since the owner didn't even bother responding to my text about how disappointed I was in all 3 cakes, I don't know if I will ever come back to this bakery. These baked goods are also very well filled with a good amount whether it be yummy blueberry or cream cheese. The pastry is also large. They offered lots of free samples, and that got us hooked! Saw they had chestnut and sesame cake so got the happy hour deal. A slice of cake plus tea/coffee for $5. Dine in only. Sesame cake was dry and somewhat hard. It was pretty cold so it tasted like they used frozen cake pieces too. The filling was the instant black sesame paste so it was very prominent. The chestnut cake was very soft and fluffy. The filling had real chesnuts and wasn't overly sweet. The honey green tea was not overly sweet either so it was prefect. As I was eating cake, I looked over at the baker and she was putting frozen bread dough in the bread pans for baking, and wasn't using any gloves. I came here a few times and compared to the first time that they just opened, the place improved a lot. Fresh butter danish loaf is one of my favorites. It's good when it's warm. The taste is definitely on point...not dry. Fluffy in the inside and soft. Kinda taste like a croissant. Sesame cake is pretty awesome. I came in today and got their happy hour deal 2pm-5pm. Choice of cake and choice of coffee or tea. Not that many places serve sesame cake so its kind of difficult to compare. The flavor is there but the cake itself was not moisted. Also, cream seem to be on sale...lol I scoped a lot of the cream off. I chose black tea and it was ok. Nothing special but glad it wasn't crazy sweet. The guys there provides great services.
