I used to come here faithfully for their wings before I moved to atlanta & they were so good & fresh. (Even when they're sitting in the case) but I see that's changed. I placed an order via the phone and was told 15 minutes, the food ended up taking almost 30. But I'd rather my wings fully cooked so it was what it was. Inside it pretty spacious for them to move around. The waiting area had a couple of stools and a counter. Since I was waiting for a while I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni pizza as well, it was literally the worst pizza I've had in my life. Like most pieces barely Had any pepperoni & the pizza had a weird taste. Just, NO The wings had a lot of the old Potential but it seems they were also fried in that very old potential. Hope they plan to change the fryer oil for the new year. Highly disappointed. & for the price you'd think it would come with a sauce or something. read more

My daughter recommended this place so I gave it a try. The first time I ordered a large steak bomb/no pepperoni and a small turkey and cheese. The subs were great...!!! BUT today I order the #1 special large cheese, wings and 2 liter. My total was $25.00 but my bank statement said $30, the chicken was GROSS, and the pizza wasn't all that great either. Infuriating. I was highly weary of them because of their previous practices of picking up pizza slices by their bare hands. Today I tried to keep an open mind. I ordered a slice. The gentleman goes to where the slice is and...*cringe* picks it up with his bare hand. I inform him that I don't want my slice picked up by bare hands. He says this to a woman who then goes and picks up my slice *again* by bare hand. I sigh inwardly, fish two dollars out of my wallet for the hand handled slice I will never receive, pay for the slice and the trouble I put them through and walk out. I would rather pay for nothing than eat a slice that has been handled by their BARE HANDS. I don't care how clean they are or how awesome their bathroom habits are. Handling someone else's cooked food with your hands is disrespectful and unsanitary PS. I ordered a slice from Antonio's down the street and they used a glove when handling my slice automatically! D'Benny's calzones are the bomb, especially the buffalo chicken. The hot sauce mixed with the cheese, dipped in marinara sauce...mmm. I got ours for take-out, and it came with both marinara and blue cheese sauce. The pizza is also really good, but the calzones are tops. Got a small Italian sub which cost 8.50!!! When I got home I basically got 1 slice each of the thinnest slices of meat and lettuce, no tomatoes or onion which I ordered. I could have gotten a better sub at 711 . The guy behind the counter was friendly but obliviously didn't listen when I told him what I wanted on it. Basically a lettuce sub for $10.00 because I tipped him 1.50 . I wouldn't go back here again. A complete RIPOFF. read more

You've seen this place light pollutin' it up at Fields Corner, oh sure. Our first try of their take-out was not as amazing as their Vegas-meets-Dirty-Dot light display, but the buffalo chicken calzone was good. Doughy and flavorful, just enough for 2 people. But where oh where was the blue cheese dressing? Not that I ordered it, but wouldn't you expect it, given the ingredients? The calzone was accompanied by 2 containers of marinara. Not totally ill paired, but, again, blue cheese would've been better. The gal taking the phone orders was a sweetheart and the delivery feller was equally so. Matter fact, they are mostly OLD reviews from 2012 and older- please disregard them, it's 2015 people- that's what matters most. Anywho, my husband and I have been ordering food from here for the 3RD TIME THIS WEEK! For all the years that I've lived in Dorchester, I can't believe I've never stepped foot into this place. But anyways- the beef stir fry with onions and peppers are really good. The BBQ ribs and the chicken wings they had - oh my goodness, it's probably one of the best fall off the bones chicken I've ever had! It's definitely not dry and it's a little tangy and sweet. It's also semi spicy (to me) but not that spicy- you probably wouldn't be able to taste it if you like spicy lol. I am in LOVE their fried bananas ; they are sweet, soft and I like how it has a glaze all over and not dry like other places but they don't always have it, I guess it's only on certain days. We wanted something "different" one night, and our usual place was closed. Opted for a salad and a steak tip roll up. We were both ILL after eating this imitation food. Been going to D'Benny's for more than 4 years now and they recently (less than 1 year) had new renovations done. It much cleaner and spacious than before. There isn't much of a dining/eat-in area, just a small high bar facing the window with a handful of stools. A shame since you can see their back room/kitchen and it is HUGE. Not exaggerating at all, it looks to take up more than 3/4ths of the entire restaurant. Their "famous" wings are absolutely delicious. Their pizza is just alright. Delivery is horrible. It's often one guy and he blasts incredibly loud music in his car and has been on his phone every time I order delivery. Horrible service. The older lady that you'll often see there is incredibly kind! Sometimes giving extra pieces of chicken for free or discounting you some. I enjoy her hospitality and friendliness along with her delicious chicken! Must try! read more

First, I called in the order ahead of time, and I had to wait a while when I went to pick up. It was around 9:45 or so, but that doesn't make much sense to me. I could've just ordered at the shop. I was patient. I finally got my order and took off. The wings were frozen and thrown in the grease to fry. Therefore, they were fried to the bone! That of course makes for hard wings. They were seasoned OK, but I just prefer my wings a little more tender off the bone. I was not impressed. Lastly, I will comment on cleanliness. This is one of the many reasons I do not patron some neighborhood eats. Napkins on the floors, straw wrappers, the food case has crumbs around it.. c'mon folks. This is my 3rd review for Dbennys and each time they lose more stars. I've been a customer of theirs since May 2012. I had a few issues with Dbennys but always tried to give them another chance. Well they've raised their prices AGAIN and lowered the quality of food. The pizza has changed and the wings have feathers still attached more often than not. $25 (previously $17, then $21) for a special of a single pizza and 10 wings that are no longer of quality is ridiculous. Customer service was ok but I can't eat that. I have to let go completely and move on to another restaurant. read more

Great place. Nice people. Few problems though if you order to pick up and they say it's gonna be ready in 15 minutes. You should wait at home for 30. They're not finished cooking in 15 minutes or they're just getting started with your food. So just chill at home for 30. I love burgers but this ain't the place. It's usually really dry and they use a burger press which let all the juice out of the burger. Pizza is alright not my liking but yeah. They don't cook the cheese enough. Steak and cheese is dry like almost all the pizza shops around Dorchester. Best thing about them is their chicken. Anything chicken is great. Highly recommend the crispy chicken sandwich. read more

I got D'Bennys during a blizzard because of proximity. As a sub lover I was excited to try somewhere new but it was just fine. The bread is good, but there's not a lot of each ingredient in the sub so it was a bit of a let down. FUCKING DISGUSTED!!!! DO NOT ORDER YOUR FOOD FROM HERE! I ordered a steak and cheese sub and curly fries (14.98 including delivery) from there and as I was eating my sub I found a baby CENTIPEDE on the sub as it had just fell on the wrapping paper. I called them back to make a complaint and to also get my money back and they were unconcerned, they never even apologized and alluded that I tried to scam them... they said that they will be sending their driver back so that I can give them the sub back. I put everything back in the bag, including the centipede and the driver gave me $7 in cash. I called back and they were VERY RUDE. They said it was impossible and they were implying that I had centipedes in my house. They put me on speaker and everyone in the back started to laugh at me suggesting that maybe I don't even know what a CENTIPEDE looks like. ***I have pictures and a video for proof.*** Very disappointed and disgusted with the service here. I will never order from them again. I will be contacting the state department of public health as well. read more

The food is pretty good but i recommend take out only. I had no issues with them the first few years but lately they've been increasing rude on the telephone and the delievery is shoddy. They say a half hour and an hour late you're still waiting. When you call they practically hang up on you. Guess they don't really need the business if they can be jerks to customers. Ok so i just called to place an order for the very first time and much to my dismay I was first put on the line with someone who spoke little to no english which i'll say is not uncommon for the area however it doesn't make ordering any easier.Then I attempt to order a double meat cheeseburger sub and the new woman that started taking my order told me we don't do that but i could order another sandwich on the side.
