I was excited for the Cypress opening but after I gave it a try. I don't know if I'm going back. I am almost positive that they changed their bean. It's not bold and dark anymore. I got a classic Vietnamese coffee today and even with an extra shot of espresso, it tastes like a water down coffee. I used to be obsessed with Da vien Coffee given how strong and bold their coffee was. It gave a dark brown color. And you can already feel the coffee kick the first sip you took. Now it's light brown milky color. Tastes quite bland :( As a Vietnamese person, I do NOT approve their Vietnamese coffee. Maybe it's catered to the non Vietnamese people now they are expanding so much! Also I asked for less ice, and they still gave me 3/4 cup of ice. Maybe their baristas are still under training. But overall not impressed and wont come back unless they have another seperate item on the menu for a special Vietnamese coffee made for Vietnamese :) If you try Trung Nguyen, Viland, Sip, or Re coffee. So thrilled to be able to come and enjoy a cup of matcha close to home. Really enjoyed the matcha it was so rich in flavor and didn't taste grainy at all, if not it was the most smoothest matcha I have ever tried. The service was also very incredible, I loved the fact that they like to socialize with customers especially when ordering! Honestly, I was already having a bad day, and coming here just made it worse. I came to redeem a voucher I received for doing a DaVien ad specifically for this location, but it had expired by just 10 days. I was hoping management would cut me some slack -- unfortunately, they didn't. Honestly, a simple "no" would've been fine, but instead, they ripped the voucher right in front of me. They really said ," By the way we ripped it up for you." "It was like if I gave them my Pokémon card to check out, and since it was already damaged, they just threw it away for my own good." I ordered a caramel matcha latte and specified less ice, and the cup was 80% filled with ice. I can't imagine how much ice there would be if I didn't specify less ice. When I buy BOGO, they made the drink very tasty! When I asked them to adjust, they even gave me two new drinks of matcha. I would definitely recommend the matcha here. I got my order last today this morning. I ordered ahead of others at a kiosk. Almost 15 minutes prior to ordering waiting. I'm not sure if what I ordered required more prep, but matcha drinks were served much faster than my Ube Cream coffee. Overall, the staff member didn't give a good vibe when handing off my drink, nor did they apologized for the long wait. I expect high service and vibes from such a great establishment. First off excited that this is near the office. I can get my Da VIEN fix much closer either before and/ or after work. Even better it has a drive thru. Space is much bigger than other location I've been to (Cerritos/westminster area). Lots of room to chill and kick back if you have the time. Love the ambiance light, earthy, spacious, modern and very welcoming. Recently in their soft opening stage preparing for their grand opening. Staff is friendly and drinks as good as other places keeping it standard without affecting quality. I do miss their pandan drink so hopefully they bring that back. My go to atm is the Ube cream matcha but do plan to explore and mix up some flavors. It really seems you can go wrong with any drinks or combination you get here.
