Found this place on Yelp while passing through Holland at supper time. It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. My family and I enjoyed it. I had the Rib Dinner and it was excellent. The ribs were slow cooked and smothered in a barbecue sauce that had sweetness and fire that worked together brilliantly. While it did take a little for our order to come together, we got a chance to get to know the people that own this business and they are some of the best people you will meet. They even offered samples of some of their food to make the ordering process more interesting. The prices seem a little high at first blush, but they make up for it with monstrous portions that provide enough for another meal. They even offered us a little extra food before we left. Tried for the first time today. OMG, SO MUCH FOOD!!! Got the rib dinner; that included 3 sides and corn bread. I choose collard greens, Mac and cheese, and baked beans. Ribs were slathered in finger-licking homemade new sauce that SO delicious I wanted to lick my container! I have never had collard greens before and regret to inform I am not a fan, but I think they were done right. There was lots of flavor on top on flavor in those greens and there was turkey in them. Mac and cheese was good with the noodles cooked perfect al Dante with a real simple creamy cheese sauce (way better than Hog Wild's). The baked beans reminded my of my grandma's Brown sugar and molasses baked beans as a kid. The cornbread was classic, not too sweet, baked to perfection with a crispy crust. The smokey deliciousness of the bbq sauce on those fall-off-the-bone-tender ribs was freaking perfection; the mac and cheese was REAL Mac and cheese guys, done right, and those greens were magical. My wife and I were looking to go to a new fried chicken place for dinner tonight. When we got there the restaurant next-door to the carry out was not open. It turns out that it's only seasonal for inside dining. So we wound up taking home an eight piece fried chicken dinner with collard greens, green beans, and mashed potatoes with gravy. The chicken was absolutely fabulous! The sides were very good too and everything stayed very hot until we got back to our house. We had to wait about 20 minutes for them to cook the chicken up fresh but as it turned out it was worth the wait! Their fried chicken is definitely homemade and no other seasonings are necessary. Much better than anything you could get at KFC or Popeye's. We are looking to go back again for some ribs and the shrimp poor boy! read more

I found this place through Yelp while at a softball tournament in Holland, MI. It was less than a mile from the ballpark (Matt Urban Sports Complex). The girls were in between games and needed some lunch. They all wanted the spaghetti side and the woman suggested I order the fried chicken meal with 3 sides of spaghetti (to help me save $10!). The woman threw in 3 roles to round out the meal for me and the kids. The kids loved their spaghetti and the fried chicken was the best I've had in a long time - in particular the chicken leg. But recently had to stop because of the rudeness , lack of customer service , & spoiled side dishes from letting it set out all day long. We have even tried a couple times to order ahead to be told that food would be ready in an hour , we arrive , food still isn't done , & we are greeted with rudeness.
