I'm really not sure how this place has such good reviews, but they are deceptive. Maybe it's because I am from California and have experienced amazing KBBQ in LA, Orange County and San Diego, but this place was far from good. Maybe their other locations are better...who knows. First of all, we were seated right away, but it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to take our order. We contemplated leaving during this time and we truly wish we would have. They do not have any working grills so you cannot cook the meat yourself. They cook it in the back, and it's probably sitting around up until someone orders it. They serve it to you on a "sizzling" hot plate- they basically throw some onions on it to make them sizzle, giving the impression that the meat is freshly cooked and sizzling too, which it clearly isn't. The meat wasn't even warm by the time it arrived at our table. The portions are tiny, so you receive a dish with a few cooked pieces of meat, and then have to wait for the waiter to come take your order and bring you another dish of "freshly cooked meat". The turnaround time is ridiculous. The one good meat they had was the short ribs, and you could only get one order of it with the all you can eat meal. The bulgogi was okay, too. Their sauces were awful. The sides were okay and we basically just tried to fill up on the sides and rice since the meat wasn't very good and took forever to come out. Love Korean food and this is the first time I have tried this place. I had my food delivered and ordered the beef bulgogi and the jap chae. Both were delicious, but for $16.95 for the bulgogi alone plus a delivery time of two hours, I expected just a little bit more. I was also anticipating all of the sides that you get (Kim chee, cucumbers, etc.) that I have received from other restaurants when ordering take-out, but not this time. I received Kim-chee only. At first, it seems like some cafeteria steak house from the outside, even with a name that doesn't really make it easy to pronounce. Is it Day - Jee or Day - Gee? it turns out that its Korean for Pig, which sounds like "Day Jee". All the food was excellent, but the highlight was the Kimchi Bloody Mary. This was the most unusual drink I have ever had, but strangely addicting. Kimchi has usually some type of fermented oysters or shrimp extract in it giving it a pungent odor, not to mention the Kimchi itself, which is fermented cabbage. Its in the same theme as a Caesar (Canadian Bloody mary made with Clamato). read more

This was okay...it's not your traditional korean restaurant but I ordered kimchi jigae and bibimbap. I don't know if this was a shortfall of the restaurant or EAT24 where I ordered delivery. I asked for no tofu in my kimchi jigae and extra sauce for my bibimbap but neither of these requests were met. The kimchi jigae was pretty good, the jalapenos was a nice touch. The bibimbap would have been good if they gave me extra sauce, I'm korean so I'm used to my bibimbap being super spicy but the tiny amount of sauce I got made the dish feel very bland. read more

F I can give it a 2.5 I would. But since I can't it's a 3. Me and my friend came here yesterday and he loved it. If he ever had Korean bbq from other places he would realize what he's missing out on. The kimchi we got as a part of our ban chan was pretty sour. And one thing i wasn't a huge fan of was the San gyup sal aka pork belly. We just had dinner for party of 10 , we would not recommend this restaurant for large parties. The waiting staff are not up to the task to deal with such a large party. We ordered 8 bbq entrees and were told that we would not be getting any extra sides since 2 children on our party didn't order bbq ( they ordered other things). We received sides enough for 4 people , and there were no refills offered. We frequent this restaurant as a party of 4 so we know the portions really well. Apparently its a rule in the restaurant that if one person doesn't get the bbq then the sides will be reduced . This completely changes the korean bbq experience. We only needed one or two of the sides to be replenished but because of this inflexible rule the whole nights experience was effected. FYI We brought our out of town guests over and were charged over 300$ for this meal. In a city full of generic Korean Bbq places, this one stands out far above the crowd! Some Korean bbq locations are dry and stale in atmosphere. This place is a trendy take on Korean food, and it's legit! I would know, my fiancee is Korean and it was all smiles from her the whole night. The interior has a modern feel and the bar serves Korean drinks. Our server Jay was attentive and didn't once allow our glasses or our plates to be empty. I love this place! I had never tried Korean food in general (well, maybe ONCE long ago), let alone Korean BBQ, so I have nothing to compare it to. However, being a stranger to Korean food, this experience was nothing short of awesome! Getting to cook your own food at your table is so fun and gets everyone involved! First time I went was for my birthday just to try something different for once rather than the usual Red Robin or Chili's--6 of us to be exact went. It was a fun time! We called ahead for reservations, and they accommodated our "larger group" wonderfully.(Groups 6 and larger are recommended to call ahead, otherwise it isn't too hard to get a table if you're just walking in with a smaller group.) It being a larger group was kinda hard and I found myself trying to cook the meat for everyone. While everyone was eating, I still hadn't found time to get to eating my own food, so I definitely recommend a group no larger than 4 for everyone to be able to reach and eat at the grill or just definitely ask for help cooking for a larger group. I was just caught up in the moment and experience to actually begin eating, apparently. xD That's nothing but personal preference and maybe due to my lack of experience and my ability to not take the time to eat some of the food rather than cook it. Anyways, I went a second time about a week later with two others and it was less "stressful", haha. ;D We all got to kind of pick off the grill and eat and it wasn't the overwhelming amount of people to make sure got a share of the food. For the all-you-can-eat, I love that they start you off with a platter of various meats all at once to try and from there you can see what you like best and ask for more of that. You aren't limited to anything and as long as you're hungry, the guys there are more than willing to bring you anything else you want whether it's more meat, rice, or sides, like kimchi, that come with the meat. The sides are awesome, btw. I had actually tried kimchi another time and was excited to try it again. The kimchi pancakes are AMAZING, and heated over the grill make them sooo good! The cucumber kimchi is great too, goes well in a meat-filled lettuce wrap and the sauce is great for dipping! The original kimchi is great too, but I think I prefer the cucumber one a bit more. They also have a side of potato salad that's really good. Seems a bit random..? But it's a nice switch up from all of the spicy and spiced sides. The ONLY real troublesome thing is when you ask for more of the above "requestable" items I mentioned. They come to your table and ask what you want more of and sometimes it's a lot at once and they may not remember all of what you asked for or don't write it down, so you feel kinda troublesome by re-asking for what you had just requested more of. I wish they'd maybe put like a dry erase board or something, if wasting paper was an issue, where you could write all of what exactly you wanted more of so it wasn't this constant exchange of making sure you got everything only for you to finally receive everything you wanted the first go-around and then wanting or needing something else after the first request was eventually accomplished. (I hope that makes sense.) The guys that run the place are awesome and super friendly and I know they're working their butts off to do as much as they can to accommodate and get to everyone, so it's nothing they're doing wrong. But maybe to lighten the load, a dry erase board or request papers would be convenient for when they're running back and forth to fulfill people's requests. We passed by walking on a chilly day, with intentions to go to next door Falafel King, but the delicious aromas we smelled and our curiosities led us here! So glad we did-- what a delicious new spot and a new favorite of ours. The interior is welcoming, modern and clean. A fun and delicious surprise of little trays of complimentary appetizers was brought to us.. maybe about 8-10 items to try! We both ordered Bee Bim Bop with seafood and it was so delicious and piping hot. The spices/flavor was just right and there were a variety of hot sauce options. Serving sizes were ample for leftovers, although we gobbled every bite, down to the crunchy golden rice on the bottom. This is my second time at DAE GEE and I am obsessed. You can't beat an amazing staff and phenomenal food. Sit at the bar and ask Heather to make you a drink. She will not disappoint. Start with her twist on a Bloody Mary and then move to bourbon with blueberry wine. I have never experienced a more beautiful drink selection. Then you'll get your food, which is mind blowing. I ordered the Bee Bim Bhop, and I thought it was pretty good. I didn't love the atmosphere -- it has outdoor seating, but the patio is right up against Colorado Boulevard. DONT EAT HERE or it will make you hate Korean BBQ forever. Before coming here, we thought we couldn't go wrong with Korean bbq, especially the one with many high reviews. Wrong wrong wrong!!! Came here with 7 friends during our Colorado trip, and we were all super disappointed at both service and food. Not sure if it was us or what but we felt like they tried to ignore us as much as possible. We picked AYCE option, which only serves 5 types of meat (brisket, pork belly, chicken, beef , and pork bulgogi, and one strip of kalbi per adult). And it costs $22/person. The sauce sucks, the meat sucks, the marinated meat sucks. We even had to ask 3 times 3 different waiters to get water once. They first brought out 1 plate of assorted meat, and forced us to finish all of the meat before ordering more, although we didn't want to eat chicken. But the girl rudely told us that: you guys have to finish that plate then I will bring you more. What the hell? if we don't want to eat chicken, we won't eat it period, and also because you guys' marinated sauce was salty and terrible. Our grill was there for showing, not grilling I guess, since it could only cook in the center of the grill and took forever to finish first round of meat. The whole meal was terrible. We were so tired after the trip and still we had to deal with this kind of bad experience. So of course we left hungry. No Bye or Thank you was said when 8 of us walked pass them. It seems like they don't even care. And by looking at the first page which shows off that they were once featured on Food Network Channel, now I understand why they allowed themselves to treat customers like that. read more

When this place opened a few years ago I was eating there at least once a week and I am not a connoisseur of Korean barbecue but this place rocks! After several years I still think this is some of the best Korean food and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Denver, the only thing is that I wish they had more sides - most of the current sides are super authentic (awesome) but not always friendly to everyone's palate, especially picky kids and adults. This restaurant was a great surprise to me. I was looking for something different and yelp reviews recommended it. I tries the DOHL SOHT BEE BIM BHOP which comes with endless appetizers. The appetizers are good enough to eat but leave room for the rice dish. The vegetables are crunchy and have great flavor. The clay bowls make it exotic. Have not been in a while, but big thumbs up on their zucchini pancakes--really delicious--light and fluffy and perfect. Their other standby dishes like dukmandoo gook, and daengjang jigae, and bibimbap are okay, not stellar, but reasonably solid. I haven't tried their Korean BBQ, which is probably what most people go for, I suspect it's solid, but can't attest. I am giving them an extra star because we have a dearth of authentic asian food within Denver, and it's nice to be able to get some Korean food without trekking into Aurora. This was by far the worst Korean BBQ experience I've ever had, mostly because of the service. Don't be fooled by the hype. To begin with, we ordered an appetizer that they (who was our server? Never really knew) forgot about until the meat came out. The server argued with me when I tried to explain the purpose of an appetizer and she continually insisted that it was nearly ready, despite the fact that we didn't need it or want it anymore. After the first round of meat they brought out, we had to flag a random server down for the next round and multiple times to refill our water. We also had to ask one of them to change out the grill. Overrated. Its my first time here and there won't be a second time. Ordered the Unlimited Korean BBQ set and waited for it to arrive for at least 30 mins. Most Korean places bring out the side dishes (banchans) instantly but they did not bring them out until after the first plate of pork belly & brisket. Pork belly & brisket came out cold like it's been just sitting there for a while. Asked for a second round and requested it to be hot, it came out overcooked. Plus you don't get to do the bbq-ing yourself. There goes all the fun. Seemed to me like its a rip off place for all the people who dont know a real korean bbq. An insult to a Korean Cuisine.
