Pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. The menu is pricey but portions are large & the food is delicious. Chips were warm and salsa was tastier than what usually is offered at Mexican restaurants. We had the Carnitas Clasicas and the Dahlia Chicken. Would definitely recommend mixing the green sauce in with the carnitas that it comes with on the side. Dahlia chicken was piping hot, just needed a little salt. The refried beans were super good. LOVED the home made hot sauces they had. Everything we had tasted better than your average Mexican restaurant (we've tried several in the area). Service was prompt and friendly, and the interior was bright, colorful and well decorated. All in all, would love to go back and try more of the menu. read more

This place was excellent! I expected just basic Mexican food but it was so much more! Absolutely full of unexpected flavor, from the chips to the drinks to the entrees. My husband and I went on a Saturday night, around 8pm... expecting a wait since we had been to two beach side restaurants right before, and were told the wait was 45 minutes. Within 5 minutes we were at our table in the bar area. I started with a Mangonida (?), basically a frozen mango margarita with Tajin. Excellent! The chips were crispy and thick... salsa had a little kick and guacamole was super fresh (you could tell it was made to order). I had the Pollo Poblano which was one of the best chicken dishes I've ever had! Creamy avocado sauce and cheese over it was very tasty! My husband had the Salmon and Avocado dish and he loved it as well. Portions are big, service is excellent, wait times (for the table and for your food) were fast, and the atmosphere was fun. I have been to this restaurant once not long after they opened. It was fine but nothing really special. I was in the area Tuesday and decided to try their Taco Tuesday special. They brought chips and salsa right away and took my drink order. You have to order at least two tacos so I ordered a grilled chicken and a carnitas taco for $3.00 each. I also ordered black beans and rice for a $1.00 side which was really tasty. . The chicken taco was okay as I was not a fan of the sauce., but the carnitas taco was really good. The waiter noticed I had picked off all of the chopped onions and said next time to ask for no onions as they are happy to accommodate customers. Next time I will get both carnitas tacos and ask for no onions as well as no cilantro. read more

Good looking restaurant & good food to boot! Decor is really pretty! Food was out quickly & tasty! I would recommend getting the guacamole when they ask if you want an appetizer. Its freshly made, very tasty! Their chips were warm & fresh. We had the burritos. Mine was "ok" ... the wrap could have baked more. Was kinda raw tasting. But the meat mixture inside was awesome & well seasoned. Maybe a little too much rice to meat ratio but still very good. We just had an awesome dinner at Dahlia in Port Orange. It was our first time there and we would definitely go back . First, our waiter, Sebastian, took great care of us. I started with the Picante margarita and it was top notch. Hand-made margaritas are definitely better than Jose Cuervo mix. My date had the house Cabernet and said it was really good. We are both vegan and thankfully, we had several options on the menu of items that were vegan or could be easily veganized. I would definitely go back again!! First time to Dahlia today and we will be back. Food is fresh and very well prepared. Black beans are exceptional and even the chips are special, light and not greasy. Guacamole is a little chunky which is how we like it and the yellow rice is perfectly spiced. My wife had a chicken and shrimp entrée which was great, the chicken tender and shrimp crisp and done to perfection. My cheese enchiladas were very good and the green sauce revealed many flavors and depth. We truly enjoyed our meal, the wait staff is very attentive without hovering. We will be back! read more

I'm starting with three stars because we have been there twice for lunch before the grand opening and I would have given them four stars based on those visits. Both times for lunch it was really mid afternoon so they were not busy. We sat at the bar. The chips, light and crispy, and salsa was good. We had the house margarita, good flavor and decent amount of tequila for premade margaritas. The bartender let us know the first visit that Monday is half of house margaritas. We had an appetizer of spicy flash fried shrimp with chipotle cream over a bean purée topped with jalapeño slaw (yummy). This is not your typical Mexican fare, if that's what you're looking for this may not be for you. We also split the chicken and spinach enchiladas and on the second trip we had the pork belly tacos. Again we enjoyed all and told several people to try Dahlias out. We then went to the grand opening for dinner. They were totally slammed. We found a place at the bar at the end near the kitchen, normally not an ideal place, this time however it gave us an opportunity to watch all the action. In front of us was the ceviche and guacamole prep station watching the employee making it was watching a work of art. ( She obviously had a lot of experience) our server was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely busy. My husband ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla, delicious. I had the enfrijolados, which was an unusual but tasty dish with grilled veggies, rice and black beans. Despite how busy they were our food came out quickly. They had a lot of staff working which led us to believe they had trainers and staff from their Daytona location available to help with the grand opening. We were approached by two different managers asking about our experience. We told the second manager they were doing a fantastic job. That night we would've given them 5 stars. Now the reason for three stars. Last night I wouldn't have given a two star review. When we got there they were pretty busy for a Tuesday. We found two seats at the bar right next to the POS machine which means the bartender had to approach our area repeatedly, that being said it took him five minutes to acknowledge us and that was only to slap two greasy menus down. An expediter delivered chips and salsa and a few minutes after that the bartender took our drink order. We sat and drank our margaritas without being approached for our food order. All the time observing a staff that was busy working harder not smarter. After finishing our drinks we left without ordering food, mostly because we weren't asked. We had to flag the bartender down to get the check. He was unapologetic. Lastly I want to say we watched him handle everything from money to clean glasses all while wearing gloves, I ask you how many times do you think he washed his hands? We will go back and give them another chance but they really need to step up their training. read more

Absolutely incredible.. the ambiance is beautiful. The music is very lively but not overwhelming. We sat at the bar and had Jose... he goes above and beyond for great service. I'm pretty sure he gave me more samples of food item than my entire meal . He also took time and went through the entire menu.. and his recommendations will not disappoint. as we have never been here before. I highly Recommend coming and trying it out. Disappointed is an understatement. I reviewed the menu and decided on the Lunch Chicken Fajita bowl. Within 3 minutes of ordering, the dish arrived at my table I was astounded!. It was warm, not hot and the chicken, instead of being strips was flavorless chunks that I would expect out of a bag of frozen chicken pieces. Went with my mother this afternoon, and we were seated immediately by friendly young lady. Our waitress from Spain had several other tables but was over quickly with chips a salsa and took our drinks and appetizer order. Within two minutes she brought our drinks and asked if we had any questions regarding the menu, after answering our questions with a big beautiful smile, we ordered. I had the Mexicali Burrito and my mom ordered Enchiladas Mexicanas. Both entrées were excellent as was the appetizer, shrimp ceviche. Fantastic experience we will be back for sure with other family members and friends. Our server was definitely the icing on the cake. She had nothing but positive things to say about the restaurant, and she especially raved regarding the kitchen workers, saying "they do a great job and make delicious food" My mother loved the Mexican decor, and all of the colors that they use. We went for Taco Tuesday and left very disappointed! The waitress we had was horrible. She totally got our order wrong. And when it was mentioned to her when she finally came back to the table, she didn't offer any solution. She simply looked at some of us and asked if we wanted a to go box for the food that we were complaining about. The hard shell gringo taco that I received, one of them was so soft that when I picked it up, the whole bottom fell out because it been sitting for so long. The other one was still crunchy so that didn't happen but I had ordered a chicken and a beef, and I received two beefs, one of which I couldn't eat because the whole bottom of it was like mush. Other people in the party had issues with their food as well, and she just kind of wrote it off and brought us all our bills. In fairness, I've been to Dahlia's before where the service has been good and that is why we went back this week for taco Tuesday. But I'm not sure that some of the people that we brought with us will return because they have a bad experience for the first time there. read more
