One of favorite places to order from. The flavors are always consistent. Our go-to meal is the grilled pork noodle bowl. The meat itself is well-seasoned. You can taste the lemongrass but not overpowering. My favorite part of the bowl is the nuoc mam sauce that is poured over the warm noodles. Then you let it sit for a minute so the sauce is absorbed. Oh my Yum! Aside from the noodle bowl, we stop by once a week to grab my daughter's favorite mango slushy with lychee jelly. Such a delicious combination. The drink is smooth and not too sweet. We had the chance to try their mochi donuts before the machine broke. They are smaller than the mochi donuts that we usually buy from the other side of town. But their donuts are always fresh and the icing is not too sweet. It is sad that they don't make donuts anymore. I was heartbroken when the lady at the counter told me that they will stop making the donuts because they wont be replacing the donut machine. This review is just for the banh mi. This is my first time here and wanted to give it a whirl. I'm used to large, overstuffed banh mi so when I saw what was presented, I just prayed it had good flavor. I ordered the grilled pork, extra meat that cost roughly $3. When i opened the sandwich, it looked exactly like my sons who ordered a regular grilled pork. There was no extra meat. My son took 2 bites and decided he didn't care for it. I took his sandwich filling and stuffed it into my sandwich. There, it finally looked like what i'm used to. Took one bite, and chewed on the driest meat you can think of. I've been here a couple times now and forget to review it! This place is SO good! I love the vermicelli bowls. The bowl have a kick to it, I'm not sure if it's the pork or if it's the fish sauce but I love it! I haven't dined in, I always pick up to go and then assemble It at my home so I can eat while watching tv and the service is always super quick. Been wanting to try this place for awhile but probably won't return. The bread tasted stale and was extremely flaky, I've never had bread that consistently before. The beef on my beef bulgogi was extremely low quality. Most of the pieces were uneditable. The vegetables and house made mayo saved the sandwich, that part of the sandwich was very tasty actually. I always forget about this place and I'm not sure why. I ordered take out and I'm kicking myself for even driving past it. I only wish they still sold mochi donuts, but this them ever having available donuts was the equivalent of McDonald having ice cream. Anyway, the presentation of the to-go pho was so nice and plentiful. Everything was piping hot. The star of the meal were the spring rolls, literally the best I've ever had in SA. The food was okay. Nothing very exciting or amazing, just okay. My husband got the bulgolgi beef bahn mi and I got the shredded chicken. Both were pretty dry and my husband said the meat was mainly fat. I got a potato corn dog too and it was good but there was literally less than half of the hotdog on the inside of the breading so it was weird but it did taste good. We ordered the #1 banh mi which consisted of 3 kinds of pork and a grilled pork banh mi. Service was a little slow, but no worries. Received our nicely wrapped sandwiches and size wise, they were decent. The bread was absolutely delicious! Soft interior, and the outside had a nice crunch that easily crumbled as well. Vietnamese food is far and scarce in San Antonio, definitely not as easy to find like back home in Houston. However, the effort for execution is way higher here because of the scarcity of supplies. To cope so many of these places are making their product from scratch! Daily is out here making their bread fresh from scratch crispy and fragrant. Definitely our personal favorite out of all the banh mi places in the city. Not only that but their Jambon, which was truly a shock to me. Jambon is essentially a Vietnamese cold cut/salami roll; it's not salty but it's made from pork! You never find it in grocery stores because it's a lot of labor to make. Personally knowing how to make it it's a real treat to know that they're going through the effort to make a great product for the community. And just for this one banh mi too! You have to try it, pate is a savory liver spread which sounds scary but it's packed with umami and is in perfect balance with all the other components of the sandwich. So worth its $ value in quality and flavor. They have lots of other Vietnamese specialties like pho, bun Bo hue, and coming soon grilled pork vermicelli bowls & sizzling steak plates! But when Banh Mi 102 opened up on Bandera, we don't need to drive far just for Banh Mi. This may be unfair to Daily Banh Mi but just being transparently honest, or maybe brutally honest. If they don't improve on their Banh Mi sandwiches, they can't really be at par with Banh Mi 102. The price is expensive for a single order of a sandwich, the meat filling is not a lot and the flavor is just average. We are excited for the other Vietnamese "street food" they are going to offer soon but I just hope they concentrate more on perfecting their Banh Mi. In all honesty they really need to make an executive decision if they want to be Korean, Japanese or just simply Vietnamese, after all their name says Banh Mi. A very unfortunate experience! Ordered the combination Pho and was surprised to see that the "brisket" slices had little brisket and loads of fat! I took it back and was SHOCKED to hear the owner tell me that "for me, this is not a lot of fat". He also wanted to explain that the meat depends on what they get from their vendor and didn't understand why I explained that I don't care how much fat is on your meat, cut that crap off and don't serve it to the customer. I just ordered 3 corn dogs and 3 banh mi sandwiches...1st time trying this place btw....I ordered online which clearly says "no fee" but it says doordash above it. Keep in mind I am picking up my order and not using doordash at all. Well once the order is placed and I pay for the food online I get an email with a receipt stating the time food would be ready to pick up and their logo above it. I get there and wait a couple minutes and pick up my food....but while I waited I picked up their menu and immediately noticed a price discrepancy....I had paid $8.49 for each corn dog instead of of what their menu shows of $6.49 and I also paid $10.99 for each banh mi sandwiche instead of the $8.49 that shows on their menu and take home menus....when I question the uncharted she says its because I used doordash and I told her I did not and that her Google address directed me their to order and it said no fee. Ultimately the reason they go thru a 3rd party to place am order is so that they dont spend money on their own website to do so. She then explained that if I would of called in the pick up order she would not of charged me the 40% to 50% price increase. But since I ordered online I had to pay it amd no refunds. I visited during lunch. The food was so good and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. I got the #1 to keep it simple since I'm not too sure of the different meats. Glad I did! It was soo good. Bread was soft, veggies had a crunch, and the different meats were good. I also got a sea salt cream coffee. It was sweeter than I like but it was really good and worth the try. Perfect pick me up and had me awake. I put 4 instead of 5 stars because of customer service. The ladies making the food and coffee were sweet but the front counter staff taking the orders didn't greet upon entry, didn't greet when I walked up to the counter to order, or help explain the menu very well.
