I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a chicken biscuit with bacon and, after getting home, noticed the chicken appeared undercooked when I bit into it. I stopped eating it immediately, cut it open to check, and returned to the restaurant to request a refund. While I appreciate that my refund was processed, the way the situation was handled was extremely disappointing. The employee who assisted me was dismissive from the moment I walked in. When I tried to show my receipt, I was cut off and told it wasn't needed. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, especially considering I was returning food due to a legitimate food safety concern. What bothered me most was the complete lack of an apology or acknowledgment of the issue. A simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. Instead, as I was leaving the restaurant, I overheard the employee loudly telling the kitchen that I was "complaining" about my food being raw, despite the fact that I was still within earshot. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. Undercooked food can be an honest error. However, customer service is how a business responds when something goes wrong, and unfortunately this experience was handled very poorly. Service 4/5 - kind of annoying, we were almost there and there was traffic so we tried to call in our order. They wouldn't take it because they said they closed in 10 min. I told them I would be there in 5 and wanted to make sure we got it in. The guy said I would have to get there and put in the order. We made it but we were worried they wouldn't take it when we got there. Orange juice 5/5 fresh squeezed daily. If you get there near closing they give it away. This place shocked me. I wasn't expecting much when we ate here because the menu didn't look appealing to me. Once I tried the food I was speechless. The chicken was crispy and the flavor of the gravy was top notch. My other half had the waffles and she said it was some of the best she had ever had and her palate is more specific than mine is. THE BEST WAFFLE IVE HAD IN MY LIFE. And they were only $10! Absolutely the best, it had FRESHHHH strawberries and whipped cream. The texture was absolutely amazing, perfectly crunchy edges on the out side and soooooo fluffy and soft on the inside. So so yummy. We came in a little late to closing but that staff was still super kind! The restaurant was super clean and tidy aswell. I probably won't go anywhere else for a waffle again! The smashbrowns were good but missing the sauce that's supposed to go with them which I think would've made them even better. This is a very good southern comfort food breakfast place. The biscuits are so golden and flaky. They are outstanding. The gravy is very creamy and Rich. The atmosphere is very casual and laid-back. The Squawking Goat has always been a favorite at MSBC's in multiple locations. This location is a bit claustrophobic, with lots of tables packed into a small space (and one ginormous round table that is out of place), so be prepared to sit very close to your table neighbor. Biscuits are fresh, chicken is moist and nicely breaded. Only concern is the fruit flies, both at the register and around the tables, which usually is not a great sign. But, if you can look past those little buggers and you'll have a tasty breakfast or lunch. They close early. read more

This place is better than previous reviews show. The service is quick! You come in, order at counter, get your drinks and find an open table. A dining employee is always going around to quickly clean off tables when guests leave. So you are not standing around waiting for a table. There is also outdoor seating too. The food was super good. My only gripe was with the walk up ordering, it affected my experience, between finding a table, standing in line to order, finding a place to sit in a busy restaurant, and waiting around for our food to be ready for me to go pick up at the window. Overall 4.5 stars. I love a good southern biscuit place. Such places are not common in Maryland, but we had a few go to spots in ATL. Since moving to Texas, we've been fortunate to stumble across Maple Street Biscuit - it does not disappoint. My husband has ordered Uber eats from them a few times and today I took the opportunity to drive to the store. I'm glad I did. It has such a warm atmosphere, with super friendly and helpful staff. There's a fair amount of tables/searing available, but I imagine it'll be hard to grab a table on the weekend! For my fellow coffee lovers (HOLLERRRR!) , they have a station set up with 6 types of coffee && even have a monthly coffee club for $35. Everything we've tried has been good. My girls love their smashbrowns and their maple sausage meatballs. I've previously tried the squawking goat (& this is the reason for my 1/2 star reduction). There was plenty of chicken but I felt like it needed more goat cheese for the appropriate chicken to goat cheese ratio. Otherwise, the flavors were spot on. Husband also previously tried the Extreme B&G biscuit, which features the sausage meatball & egg biscuit and choice of gravy. He thought this was okay (but the gravy was cold by the time it made it to us - not the restaurant's fault). I'm sure when it's piping hot and fresh, it is delectable. Ok fast forward to today and the photos pictured. I really wanted grits and ordered the Bluegrass Grits Bowl. It comes with a sunny side up egg (but u can change it to however you want it cooked), green onions, grits. Bacon and hot sauce. I opted for hot sauce on the side cuz I wasn't sure if I wanted it. The grits were PERFECTLY cooked. Nice soft texture and seasoned well (no additional S&P needed). The sunny side up egg is a really nice touch. I'd get this over n over! Husband got the bacon, scrambled egg and cheese biscuit, with extra bacon. U can never really go wrong with an BEC biscuit - unless of course the biscuit is horrible. This isn't lol. The smashbrowns come in a 2ct or a 4ct. They're very generously portioned. 4ct for $2.50. It comes with ranch, which surprisingly, works well. I got to see the lady in the back scoop out the hash browns and hand form the Patties. I also got to see another lady in the back forming biscuit dough. If you haven't tried this place, you should totally go! I can see why it's a local favorite and why visitors to the city make a point to stop by! read more

My boyfriend and I tried Maple Street for the first time and it was really good. First off, as you enter, it smells amazing inside. We got the power bowl, sausage tacos, and the five and dime tacos. My daughter found this place and it reminded her of Biscuit Belly back in Virginia. So we made a 20 minute trip to check it out. I can honestly say I didn't take pictures because I barely ate any of it. I knew what I ordered came with syrup but I did not expect it to be covered and the plate covered in it. Very sweet. Very messy. Plus I was slightly annoyed that on the menu the price said one price but the cashier charged a different price and then said "We just haven't updated it".... After telling my spouse how delicious this place was and top notch service, he wanted to go there for a Father's Day late breakfast. We were expecting it to be busy, so it wasn't a surprise that their line was to the door. They had one person taking orders. (This was around 11:30am.) Bacon- was served burned, not just me but black bacon was also on other plates Samshbrowns? - they ran out, which we were informed at the time of ordering. But they would have a different type of hash brown to go with my meal. No hash browns were included in my meal. When we asked the person at the window, they said they ran out. So we said we knew they were out of the Smashbrowns, but would have other type of hash browns. The guy had no idea what were talking about. Who would serve a meal without one of its sides?!? We finally got them after 10 minutes. Chicken strips- were fantastic. Except when we buy into one of the strips that was shaped like a strip, but was just batter. We had to walk back to the window to inform them of the giant strip that was just batter. The girl was surprised to see that. Waffles and biscuits were great! Maybe this was an odd day for them and weren't prepared for a busy day, but too many things went wrong. We didn't complain or asked for our money back, we just requested what we paid for. And we had to clean our own tables. All of the employees were hustling, so I am fairly certain they just didn't have enough staffing. Not sure if we are returning. read more

The best part of this place is the food. This place understands they have biscuits in their name and the biscuits do not disappoint I had the retro breakfast with gravy and the gravy was very good as well. Food comes out quickly. The smash browns as they call them are very good almost the size of hush puppies and it comes with two, should be three as they are small. The flavor though is very good, hint of cheese and onion. I had the coffee which was bold and smooth, very good. Now the downside, very cramped and tight. You have to stand in line to order and although it was the self described busy time, only one cashier. It did take me a little bit to find Maple Street Biscuit. I noticed right away that this particular Sunday, it had a frenetic energy and it was extremely loud! I had developed an instant migraine after ordering and sitting down. The extreme noise lover only became worse as time went on. Damien M took my order at the counter. I have upgraded my rating to 3 stars from 1 because the restaurant manager not only responded on Yelp but had one of the management staff reach out to see how they could "make things right". I must say I am very impressed with their response. Not only were there no excuses and no hassle, Ryan went out of his way to find a way to refund the cost of my meal and ultimately sent more than I spent plus an HEB gift card and a Maple Street Biscuit company gift of a brunch for 2.
