In a quest to satisfy my ice cream craving , I decided to come here. Yes, this is completely random for me. I've always been a fan of the blizzard , but I don't come to DQ often if at all. I'm glad I came on 03/07/2022. There were a few people already in this oddly designed drive thru. I suggest having some binoculars or your reading glasses to see their menu board. Since the menu board seems so distant from where you place your order. Ok, ok now that you know how weird the drive thru is. I must say that I received friendly service from the gentleman who took my order as well as the young lady who was at the drive thru pickup window. I ordered a small Choco strawberry blizzard and a small fry. Yep, that's all I wanted. The blizzard was superb; perfect consistency. I loved the flakes of chocolate and the sweet bites of strawberries mixed throughout well blended, creamy ice cream. Excellent treat! The fries were mediocre to say the least. I likely would order them again. The last DQ location I went to turned me off many years ago due to the bad the service. This location is way better! I'll likely comeback to this DQ location the next time an ice cream craving hits. read more

I guess I chose the day that everyone wanted to come and try the flavors of summer blizzards .... there was a pretty long line at the drive through, and it wasn't any better if I went inside. They did a good job of processing through customers quickly, so the wait wasn't too bad. DQ is really quite a bit more than just the sweet treats they have to offer. They have a good selection of burgers, dogs and chicken type stuff. If you can get fries that are fresh, I really think they are some of my favorite fast food fries that you can get - kind of a double fried feel to them. Anyway, this trip was about treats....I really wanted to try the animal cookie blizzard. The family also tried new flavors (some returning from last year- cotton candy and girl scout thin mints). As usual the upside down flip showed that it was thick and made to order. The downside, mine really wasn't that good. Frosted Animal Cookie just doesn't blend itself well with ice cream I guess. It just kind of missed the mark for me. Also, 90% of the ingredients were in the top 1/3 of the blizzard. The bottom was just plain vanilla. Deduct a star for not blending well - they could be a four star location pretty easy with a little more attention to detail on the preparation. Blizzards aren't cheap ice cream, make them the way they should be made - well blended from top to bottom. read more

This is a classic for me, I have loved DW all my life, the ice cream here is so good And they still serve dip tops , and I love a good old fashion dip top. They also have birthday cakes, and burgers , hot dogs and fries. Chicken sandwich and chicken strips. This DQ is nice and clean, with great service. read more

Came here after a 2hr karate workout to cool off with some dessert. I chose to get the triple chocolate brownie. I'm a huge fan of brownies, and this one definitely hit the spot. Covered with fudge on top of it, and had vanilla ice cream with a chocolate swirl in it to the side. Mixing the two was great. Only downside is that there isn't a ton of parking, and the venue is small, so it can get loud in there very quickly. But I definitely found my new favorite dessert in Trussville. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but the employees who were working tonight deserve the highest praise and recognition, especially during a time when many employers cannot find individuals to fill jobs. We stopped by on 12/12/2021 at 7:47 pm on our way to Chattanooga. Though the inside was closed, the drive-thru was open. The type of service we received was unlike any we have had since COVID, and was just as good if not better than Chick-Fil-A. It was a team of three working. From the wonderful, polite, and patient woman at the window, to the friendly man who made the Blizzard, to the smiling man who brought our order to the window, knowing that amazing individuals still exist in the work place is amazing. So when it's the day you allow one unrecorded food item and you want a treat, what better than DQ? especially when the marquee reads "under new management" which basically means the jacked up folks that made everyone mad have been fired. So I stopped in for a French Silk pie blizzard. The place was clean, and the service friendly, but slow. It was near closing time and I worked fast food so I understand. I had a nice blizzard though and enjoyed it. I don't know what old management was like but new management is doing fine. read more

Saw an employee hold a spoon in her mouth and proceed to empty a cup of ice cream with the same spoon into a customer's order and serve it.

We placed an order for three $5 buck meals around 135pm on a Friday afternoon in the drive thru. One with the chicken fingers, Diet Coke and a monster cookie blizzard. The second was the bacon cheeseburger with a Dr. Pepper and a caramel sundae. The third was a cheeseburger no onions with a large sweet tea and a chocolate sundae. After arriving back at work 10 minutes later we realized we had been shafted. The chicken fingers were cold and hard. The blizzard was peanut butter not monster cookie as ordered. The bacon cheeseburger was a cheeseburger with old lettuce and the fries were cold. When we called to let the store manager Gregg know about the issues with our order, we were asked to bring the food back in to get a refund. Upon returning to the store after work, I was informed by Gregg that they generally do reheat sandwiches as orders are placed and that's why the lettuce was browning. I assured him that people expect fresh good and not warmed over or refried chicken fingers and French fries. He honestly acted like it was normal practice. I was given a refund and assured him that I would never be eating at his store again. He never apologize for the poor quality of food; he only justified why the food was the way it was.
