Well, this is a complicated review. To begin with, my ice cream cone was excellent. I ordered a Cinnamon Churro-Dipped vanilla cone- scrumptious! (I didn't even know that was a thing!) Apparently the Stuckey's where this Dairy Queen is located is under new management. And I must say, it's been quite an improvement, from when I last visited years ago. Decades ago, this was a nice restaurant/gas station. Then something happened (I don't know what), and the place turned into an absolute dump. It stayed that way for years. (To be honest, I stopped visiting for more than a decade, because it was always so awful.) Today was my first visit back, & things have drastically improved since my last visit. The new management clearly cares. They are in the process of installing electric vehicle charging stations. There were several friendly employees working. The place was reasonably clean, & the bathrooms were in good shape. Does it still need a bit of work? Yes. But it seems like they are on the right track. Can't wait for my next visit, when I plan to order an EVEN LARGER churro cone- seriously, I could've eaten two of those things, it was so good! read more

Been here several times while passing through - conveniently off Interstate 40. Never had any bad experiences. The staff have always been friendly and got what I ordered. It might not be he classiest place compared to other Dairy Queen's, but it's certainly not the worst that I've been too. read more

While this isn't a "high class" Dairy Queen, it's the only one we've got in the radius of Arden to Weaverville. I've never gotten an order wrong and the ice cream is always delicious. It's in a gas station, I mean, it's not gonna be a 5 star restaurant. They're doing great for how many employees they have. read more

Sad. Understaffed and dirty. What else to say? Both of the people working there seemed like their real jobs were smoking meth but they worked here to pass the time before their next party. Blizzards were ok, but grainy? Burger was not rotten, but served lukewarm. 'Cappuccino' machine not working, fries limp. Unbelievable wait time. Probably the worst place I have ever eaten. 1/4 pieces of my chicken was raw. Ranch was water and a little bit of ranch powder. The gravy was brownish and gray (usually white) and tasted old. Place is really gross and unorganized. They need maybe 6 employees but have 2. Pretty bad :/ read more

Wow, what a dump this place is. They don't accept Dairy Queen coupons of any sort and go out of their way to rip the coupons off the kids meal bags just so they don't have to redeem them. Talk about cheep, cheep, cheep..... Sadly I opted for a dilly bar. Clearly this is not a popular selection here since they only had 3 measly ones in the case, one chocolate, one butterscotch and a completely crushed butterscotch which I guess has been deemed good enough to keep in there and offer to customers... either that or they just don't bother to check the case all that often... frankly I would believe either story. This thing tasted like it had been made months ago... I also have no problem believing this is true. If you aren't going to put any effort at all into the quality of your product, just don't offer it... like the coupon thing. Cheep, cheep, cheep... Don't bother stopping here... the bathroom in the attached station had one stall out of order and one that was disgusting and the gas is way overpriced. We decided to stop despite the previous one star ratings. Pulled up to a location that looks closed due to lack of any outdoor lighting after dark. This Dairy Queen does not conform to traditional Dairy Queen standards. Staff was not welcoming or friendly, but they were not rude either. They were not dressed appropriately for the job with a Dairy Queen or any gas station. Clothing was disheveled and dirty. Cleanliness of the entire place was VERY suspect. Definitely a "stop at your own risk" location. The speed was faster than the other reviews, but I have zero trouble seeing the other reviews happening exactly as started. read more

Service was terrible. Staff not friendly to anyone. Other customers were complaining as well. Hot dog was unedible. Cashier kept insisting that the Artic Freeze drinks that she handed me were sweetened. She was wrong. After 4 tries, we got sodas instead. We were on our way to Nashville. I agree with the review from a month ago. The lady working the gas station also took our order at Dairy Queen. We ordered a blizzard and dipped cone. The lady took the order and walked over to the other side. I ran to the restroom thinking the order would be ready when I returned. No, it was ten more minutes before some guy from the back (I agree with the meth theory posted by someone else) and made the cone but stopped and waited on a different lady to reappear (from the back) to do the blizzard. I would never in a million years eat there and don't plan to try to get ice cream again either. read more

Horrible place. Filthy doesn't even begin to describe it. Wish there were negative stars to give cause even one is to much for this place! Had 3 people working behind the counter. We placed our order, after waiting almost 15 minutes for our burgers and fries, I looked and it had been sitting on the shelf for a while. Got the burger and it was like taking bites of just mustard and bread. I think it was the owner that tried to make it right by giving me another burger. After we were done eating we asked for our ice cream. Lady was training someone, she was showing her how to serve the ice cream. She kept touching the inside of the cup and proceeded to put the ice cream machine. I called her attention and told her to change the cup cause she had been touching the inside. All the time we were there we watched the employees take the orders, take the money and proceed to make the ice cream orders and serve food without once washing their hands. The only one we noticed wearing gloves was the trainee. Two other employees came out to clean the tables, they used just a damp towel to clean all the tables. One of the employees that was cleaning the tables walked back behind the counter slapping the towel against her pants, then proceeded to clean the counter where they placed the food, with the same damp towel she cleaned the tables and slapped her pants with. Not one employee wore a mask nor did they wear gloves. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I know we could have just left. But didn't start to notice all these things till we sat down to wait for our food. read more

We were tired just came from military cemetery. I am not sure why we stayed. The restaurant was dirty, the people running it was dirty. Staff was not friendly. I had a long black hair in my food. Took it back and she made me another one. There was mold growing under counter where drinks were. Dead flies on window sill and alive ones flying around. All counters were dirty. Never brought our sundaes and so I went to ask about them, the girl behind the counter would not even look at me. A guy finally asked what I needed and I said we need our sundaes. He made them and told me to come and get them. The ice cream if that is what you call it was awful, not creamy, but kind of crystallized and tasted bad. We had to throw them away. Our Mom needed to use restroom facilities and when we got about 3 feet from door, the smell was awful. My sister opened the door and looked in and said, NO we will leave this place now. i was sad that this dairy queen was not like what my family was used to. Our Dairy Queen back home is very clean and the food is amazing and the staff serves us with huge smiles. No one at this dairy queen smiled. They all seemed mad or sad. We will never go back there. AND whoever is inspecting this place must have low standards because it would be shut down. Enter at your own risk....... read more
