Been here several times while passing through - conveniently off Interstate 40. Never had any bad experiences. The staff have always been friendly and got what I ordered. It might not be he classiest place compared to other Dairy Queen's, but it's certainly not the worst that I've been too.

We were greeted by every single one with a smile and happy energy, despite how busy the place was. There are so many times when you sit at a bar unnoticed and patiently wait for someone to look your way, but this was the opposite of that. Our drinks were ice cold and served super fast. We didn't try any food, but they do have a small menu of bar bites that sounded really good. My cider was crisp, and not too sweet. It seemed to be "the spot", because there were lots of people but we didn't have any trouble finding seating. Lots of people had their dogs with them, which is always a plus!! Overall a really nice vibe here!

It is very enjoyable to sit on the covered deck and enjoy the small stream that runs along the side of the brewery. There is parking across the street and in the field across the stream. There is some street upgrades in progress in front of the entrance that may limit access to the parking lot across the stream. These improvements should be completed soon. I highly recommend this business for a relaxing and enjoyable outing. I am sure you will be pleased with the experience.

Mac's tag line is "best dang burgers in town!" I've only eaten one burger since arriving in Black Mountain but I can say it's the best burger I've eaten in all of Charlotte and I've eaten many. Grilled on a flat top with just enough sear to seal in the juiciness. My Patty Mac was served on fresh grilled sourdough with grilled onions and cheese. My Bride's burger was served on a substantial fresh bun with no seeds or foo foo brioche with crips veggies. She ate every bite! Hand cut fries were a generously served sufficient for two to share. If your hungry for a quality, reasonably priced burger and find yourself anywhere near Black Mountain get off the interstate and stop by one of their two locations...treat yourself! I have been here several times over the last 6 years. I know people I have gone with have liked what they got. The meats are a little dry, I think it is meant for you to add sauce. They do keep 5 different sauces at the tables (regular, hot, mustard, white, and vinegar). I personally am not a fan of any of them. I like the sauce on the ribs and I think to use the beans at sauce. The style is to order at the counter and they call your name to come get your tray. They are very friendly and easy to interact with. With a limited number of inside tables, sometimes you do have to clear one to use it. I don't count that against the service because you are supposed to clear your table before you leave. I think that is pretty standard at BBQ places I have been do in the past.

That's fine in normal cold weather, but at 22 degrees the overhead heaters just don't quite cut it. I think this part of the experience could use a little revision. My wife had pancakes with vanilla syrup and sausage. I ordered the classic breakfast with eggs, grits, sausage, and toast. Everything was very flavorful. My only complaint was that my food was lukewarm. It seemed like my food may have been finished and sat for a few minutes while my wife's pancakes were completed. On a cold morning, I would have preferred a hotter meal, the grits weren't warm enough to melt the butter, and the toast was cold, so I didn't even attempt to butter it. That said, even with the temperature issue, the food was still very tasty, and given how cold it was outside, I'm willing to let it slide. Everything arrived quickly, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, set in an old home that is very clean. On our first visit, they offered chocolate chip cookies to go, and they were excellent! They didn't have any this time, but we'll be back again to try our luck. To those about to nosh, I salute you!!

My husband enjoyed the roasted turkey with cornbread dressing. Again the portions were plentiful and the plating showed the kitchen's pride by making sure everything looked as good it tasted. I could go on, but suffice it to say that we went back a couple of nights later. The menu is so varied, we could eat here for days without repeating an entree. Thanks, BMB!
