If you want to get in and out even in the Drive-Thru do not go here!we waited in line for food 45 minutes in the Drive-Thru with one person ahead of us. That person waited half an hour for 2 ice creams. I'm usually understanding when a place is understaffed or going through some catastrophe, when the staff is nice. However they were not. The lady was rude upfront. And there were at least three people working there that I could see with nobody in the main eating area. We thought it would be quicker than going to In-N-Out... Decided to stop and get a treat, took about 15 minutes to finally get up to the order box. Ordered 4 shakes 2 large, 1 medium, 1 small. 3 of which were Cake Shakes...... After ordering, it took Literally 30 minutes to get to the window THEN another 7-8 minutes for them to even acknowledge our presence. So I read the reviews and it's mixed, so I ordered a large fry and I pretty sure I got a small and they seemed a little stale but I got the hot fudge milk shake and it was pretty good not 6.00 good maybe 3.75 good. Redding CA, Home of boredom, ugly people, and shitty Dairy Queen's. On my long journey back from Oregon I was quite hungry and in the mood for something to fuel me home. What a god damn mistake I made. I was excited for my first visit ever to a Dairy Queen, thought the reviews were just a bunch of salty people that weren't waited on hand and foot. Nope everyone that rates 1 star is spot on. My experience: I entered the arctic temperature building and noticed the souls of the people working here were more cold than the blizzards. Interesting. Wasn't greeted or asked if I was ready to order, just a thousand yard stare of someone that should be in the movie Get Out (great film shout out to Jordan Peele). Almost made me want to snap a picture to check on them. I went back today and same attitude. I ordered a blizzard and was given a shake. When I told her it was supposed to be a blizzard, she took it and poured into a blizzard cup and gave it back. So my son graduated 8th grade so due to covid and the social distancing there is no ceremony. So to get him something for his graduation only thing he wanted Dairy Queen. As I'm trying to order the lady on the speaker kept interrupting me asking if that's all after every item I said she said is that all? I get to the window she tries handing me all the drinks so I ask for a drink carrier, she proceeds to smash them all in and goes to hand me the ice cream and in such a rush it almost dropped! She was extremely rude to me during my entire visit. She filled his blizzards so full it was dripping all over the side. When going to DQ I want to enjoy the experience, not just the food. When I got to the window the girl evidently didn't want to be there. I don't even think I've ever been to this place before, I thought it was just a dessert establishment. I don't normally eat fast food, but I LOVE pretzel anything. Seriously. I have a Google news alert for the word "pretzel". After being disappointed a while back with Red Robin's pretzel bites (deep fried, forgot the cheese dip, so sad...), I saw an advertisement about these pretzel sticks with queso dip, so I was excited to try these. The pretzels were puffy, soft, hot, salty and had a brush of "butter". They were like the addicting equivalent to Olive Garden breadsticks in pretzel form. The cheese dip? Fail. I can't even tell you what it tasted like because mine was ice cold, as if the kid just pulled it from the fridge. I would honestly only go back because it would be easier to get my rare pretzel fix at a drive-thru than to lug my kids through the mall to find the food court. Oh, and it was 2:30pm. A cheap dye job threw up deuces (the peace sign hand gesture) as we pulled up to the window, all the lights were on at 11:30 pm, a slightly more professional teen opened the window to say they close at 11. The open sign was on, everything said they close at 12. I don't really know what to say?
