Went here for the first time on Father's Day. Never been to a DQ before. I will say it's much smaller than I thought it would be but from what I'm told not all DQs are as small also it's pretty much 99% ice cream and they sell hot dogs. I've heard other DQs sell more foods like chicken sandwiches and so forth. As far as the ice cream it tasted good. I was with 3 other people and we all got something different and all of us enjoyed what we got. Only negative about it is it's a little pricey for what you get but it's also in an area that gets lots of tourist so it's understandable. I'll go back if I'm in the area read more

This Dairy Queen makes the smallest cones I have ever seen at any Dairy Queen. When I mentioned it, the lead person explained that the size of the cones goes by weight. I explained that in both Falmouth and Harwich make a more generous cone. She then offered to weigh them for me. Not sure why, my point was relatively stingy. That the off to be snarky. There may well be a weight per cone size recommendation that is provided to all Dairy Queen's. I was not able to explain to this person that her restaurant is strictly adhering to this corporate guideline when others are obviously not. She didnt get that the cone her team were making were stingy compared to others. Lesson learned, I will avoid this particular DQ in the future. read more

Blizzards parfaits and cones I like Dairy Queens and have probably been to hundreds of them around the country. One thing that I've notice is that most of them are the same. Not the exteriors, they can vary a lot but the ice cream is remarkable consistent. This one is no exception. Really good blizzards, cones and peanut buster parfaits, just like almost every other DQ I have been too. There have "real" food too but I don't even look at that, I'm there for the ice cream. This particular DQ has a small area inside where you can sit and eat and a few tables out in front where you can enjoy the constant traffic on RT 28. Some people hate DQ, would much prefer gourmet ice cream. But if you happen to like DQ then you will like this place. read more

If you want to find the worlds worst blizzard or the worst workers you should come to Dairy Queen: South Yarmouth. The employees did not honor their flip the blizzard promo or respect my groups orders. The man working with the man bum called my friend fat for ordering a large! He even went as far as to slam the little slider door on us after our order! It's a crime itself that I still have to wait outside because Dairy Queen is still SCARED of the covid. During one of our many visits to the Cape, we decided to stop here after mini golf. We went to the drive through and ordered a mini Oreo blizzard and explained that person has a peanut allergy, ordered a small Oreo blizzard for myself and the girl asked if that person also had an allergy, my husband answered yes, actually. (My son & I are both allergic to peanuts) (annoying yes, I know) My husband ordered a peanut butter cup blizzard and another worker buzzed in saying "is that person also allergic to peanuts?" And all the workers laughed in the background. "Obviously not" we answered. We pulled up and and the girl who took our order had her back to us for nearly three minutes and the workers just sat there laughing and talking about what happened. As soon as she finally turned around and open the drive through window, we asked for the district managers name and number and for the kids name who made the snotty remark. She wouldn't give us his full name which was fine, but he obviously chimed in to be a smart ass so we wanted to speak with a manager. There wasn't one on duty only kids were working, so the original worker took down our name & number and said that a manager would contact us. She still never provided us with a name or contact. Not only was that poor customer service but it was just bad manners and rude as heck. He clearly doesn't take having an allergy seriously, therefore cannot be trusted. It is not our fault we can't have peanuts and shouldn't be treated crappy because of it. Subsequently we didn't take our ice cream. We will not be going there ever again and will not go to any Dairy Queen for that matter. It is a shame that such a large chain cannot be trusted to have respectful employees. Someone called my husband a couple days later but didn't really seem to concerned, so we still haven't been back. read more

Great Dairy Queen. Had a butterfinger and heath blizzard which was excellent. Fast and made right. Great new menu of royal blizzards filled with chocolate or marshmallow. They also have a large menu of sandwiches too now. Restaurant was very clean and fast. Employees were nice and knowledgeable. One of the better DQs I have been to. Plenty of seating inside and out. There seems to be less and less Dairy Queens around as the years go by. This particular establishment has been in business for at least half a decade, and they are showing no signs of letting up. Inside and out, this Dairy Queen doesn't offer anything different from any other Dairy Queen menu-wise. The dining room is a bit small, but it's located right on the main strip in South Yarmouth so food on the go isn't a bas option. The waitstaff is typical of most places on The Cape - younger kids home from college for the summer. They've never made me feel particularly special waiting on me, but I feel their pain of summer employment and take it in stride. If you're looking for a solid place for some ice cream, this Dairy Queen should be tops on your short list. read more

Unfortunately this DQ is very skimpy with their cones. It's disappointing. The medium cone is more like a small compared to the DQ in my hometown and the one in Harwich. And, once I ordered (and paid for) a medium and was served a small. It's worth taking the ride to Harwich to get your money's worth. A medium cone is roughly $4 and frankly, I can get the same size cone at McDonald's for less than half the price. read more

Than we went up to the cast register and I ordered the Heath bar blizzard and than they served it to me and I took one bit and I loved it and every bite after that I cherished. This was my first time at a DQ. My overall impression was: meh. The menu was limited to a hot dog a chili dog or a pulled pork sandwich. No fries, just a bag of plain chips. The kids enjoyed their hot dog and chili dog, but the pulled pork really had the consistency of barbecue paste. I know that DQ is known for their Blizzard Ice Cream, but I wasn't blown away. McDonald's McFlurry is just as good if not better. The dining area as clean, but kind of small. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. So a mixed bag. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of DQ and even have the app. However this DQ in South Yarmouth rates a 0-1. This rating is due to the size of the cones. They provide a small cone at the size of a kiddie, medium at the size of a small (kiddie elsewhere) and so on. Unfortunately since this is the closest DQ to our house we have given it several chances over the years and nothing changes. Very Sad but with all the competition on the Cape we will be going elsewhere. read more
