I get food from this DQ location every once in a while. I never had any major issues before until today. I ordered a meal online and I sent my sister to go get it because I was very busy. I ordered 1hr. and 20 mins ahead of time. My sister arrived 30 mins late but my order was not even made at all. She was told that there is no order with anyone by that name. Then she was told that it was found and it was not made yet. My sister did not want to wait so she canceled the order. I called and asked about the order. It was confirmed that it was canceled. So I told them I will reorder again online. This time I sent my brother. They said my order was not paid for. So my brother left. Then they called me but I was away busy with things. They just said my order was ready to pick up and it's already paid for when my sister talked to them. Things shouldn't be that hard. I almost gave up but I was hungry. Also their app needs to be updated. There needs to be more options on what to add and what to remove on the order. Example: There is no add extra beef pattie, add grilled onions or add jalapeños. Also there is no option to add a side of ranch or comments for the cook. read more

Stopped in to get one reaper taco and a mini blizzard- Omg that taco was sooo delicious but what impressed me the Most was the crunch of the taco. I wish I ordered another taco, not many restaurants offer a fresh crunchy taco shell , hot taco meat and cold fresh toppings. read more

First time here- was just passing through town. First off, the lady who took our order was rude & not friendly. Secondly, the tables and booths were dirty. Thirdly, service is beyond slow. When another customer asked if they were behind, they were told no- when it is very clear they are. Plenty of people asking for a time frame, for their money back, and/or walking out. Including us. I do understand a lot of places are understaffed lately, but be up front and honest with customers. read more

We stopped at this Dairy Queen on the way to Houston. The restroom facilities were clean. The food services was not the fastest but not the slowest either. A family of four ordered the following: 1 six piece chicken strip country basket 1 4 piece chicken strip country basket 1 taco salad bowl 1 mini Oreo blizzard. The chicken strips were shriveled and over cooked, but it fit the needs of satisfying ones temporary hunger while on a road trip. The taco salad bowl was big but it lacked the amount of beans and salsa that is added at the Dairy Queen's in the south RGV area. The Oreo blizzard was great, as expected. Service-wise, everyone was extremely friendly and amicable. On the way to deliver the chicken strip basket to our table, a chicken strip fell out of the basket and onto the floor. The gentleman picked it up and promptly brought us another one. That service earns it 4 stars. read more

The young female who begrudgingly took my order had to be raised by wild hyenas. No greeting, no gratitude, not even 1 paper napkin! Full disclosure: This is my hometown Dairy Queen, as I moved away from Odem over a decade ago. Like the swallows coming back to Capistrano, I have to pop into a DQ every so often for a Dude or a chocolate-dipped cone. I visit this location every few months when I'm town visiting friends and family. It's a DQ in a small town in Texas where the locals hang out, so don't stop if you're in a hurry. It has been renovated, so the seating area is larger than a usual Dairy Queen and they don't have the crazy-small bathrooms like the older ones do, so if you have a larger group, it's a better option than your typical DQ. They also have a salsa bar and a 'lite' menu so you can try to mitigate the caloric impact of your meal by having two steak fingers instead of four or a smaller burger. That said, the 'lite' menu also includes an ice cream so you may end up breaking even, but you can get a ice cream coupon for that can be redeemed later. From a value standpoint, though, it's a smaller meal, soda and ice cream for just under $6, which ain't bad! I've never had any problems with the service or food. Like most small-town DQs, this is a place to sit for a spell and talk about the local goings-on...or write a Yelp review from your laptop via the Wi-Fi. ;) read more

We ordered two chicken baskets. I'm not one to be very picky, but let me tell you this... 3 of the 4 chicken strips i received were half the size of any regular size, with two of them being just a little larger than popcorn chicken! (I probably should have just gone somewhere else and ordered popcorn chicken for more of a bang for my buck! I did however, like that if you wanted you could add a mini or snack size (not sure which one its called) blizzard for only a dollar to your combo order. Thats pretty nice. I went all the way back to the house only to realize that they did not put my cup of ice cream in the drink carrier along with the two drinks and smoothie I ordered. i had to drive all the way back to go get it. BUT they did however (after I asked for it) give me a free small ice cream to kind of make up for the inconvenience. I was there for an interview about two months back. On my way out I ordered an ice cream cone with sprinkles. Upon admiring how good it looked I noticed a small ROACH in the sprinkles coating my ice cream. I returned it to one of their employees by the name of Kasandra I believe. At the time I didn't make a big deal about it because it was possibly in my future workplace. This place is horrible. Waited 30 minutes (even went inside) for 3 small blizzards, a vanilla shake and a dipped cone. Took three employees to do this. They were too busy talking and kept getting distracted. They were not even busy. Only two other tables besides us with three people at each. In my time sitting there I witnessed a poor woman given a small plastic spoon to try and scrape salsa out of the salsa bar later to be told they were out when she couldn't scrape any out, and an elderly couple leave the restaurant because they were never acknowledged after standing at the register for about 5 minutes. The blizzards were good when we finally got them but my poor husband's shake was like a cup of milk with whipped cream on top. Don't care how bad my kids want ice cream we won't be stopping at this DQ again! read more
