The burgers are fresh and they are one of the best in Redding. However the price has gotten out of control. A single with cheese is like $3.75. A double is $5.15 and a triple is around $6.55. I love Dam Burger. My favorite thing about them is that they are consistently good. I don't like over-grown gut bomb burgers. Dam burgers are thin and charred properly, which gives them great flavor. Don't need to put a bunch of extra junk on them to make them taste good. The meat speaks for itself. And the buns are always nice and fluffy and lightly toasted. A perfect hamburger for me. If you like more meat, I would suggest a double. If you like a thicker burger then they also have the Helen burger. This is a local family run business and I don't have a problem with their prices. My husband and I stopped there for lunch the other day. We had never been and we really like small Mom&Pop joints. We were sorely disappointed in the entire experience. We ordered singles, fries and sodas. Our burgers might as well have been vegi burgers, the meat was that thin. It was cooked to within an inch of burned and had no flavor. The fries were frozen bargain bin type and the waitress was pretty disinterested in waiting on us. Our bill was over $20, I felt cheated. Nothing special and minus a star for metered parking. Got a Double Damburger, hot dog, and large fries. Burger meat was burnt on the ends but edible; the hot dog (comes on a hamburger bun and with two franks) was salty and ,with the different bun, didn't taste/feel like a hot dog should -didn't finish it; the fries were ordinary frozen shoe strings you can buy at the store- but there were plenty to eat. Overall, not bad but something must have happened because I didn't see any reason for all of the high marks. read more

As someone who would choose a cheeseburger and fries as his last meal request, I absolutely love Damburger. Their thin patties may not be to everyone's taste, but I'm addicted to them, and their fries are consistently crispy and hot. My sister and nephew who are from NYC and are devoted fans of the legendary Shake Shack burgers always ask to eat at Damburger when they visit Redding. I consider that a pretty strong endorsement. The place can get busy at times and table and counter space is limited, but the staff is friendly and hardworking. A meal here will cost you more than what you would pay at a fast food chain restaurant, but you will be getting great food and help support a local business. read more

DELICIOUS! WE found this little gem of a burger stand y accident, on a road trip, while visiting another local store. The place was packed so we figured it had to be good, and we were right! The food is absolutely amazing! I personally think that it is a little bit better than Five Guys Burgers & Fries. It is also pretty decent as far as the cost for the food goes. I have no complaints about this place. The customer service was spot on, and the speed of how fast they got my food out to me was amazing. Damburger is one of the Best Burger Joints Ever! I crave these Burgers every week! They just have a flavor like no other anywhere. I have seen online where people have complained about how thin the meat (patty) is. If you need more meat order a Double or they make a Helen Burger that has one single thick patty. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago. I ordered a double dam burger (I think that was what it was called) and the patties were TINY. I ordered a salad which was also TINY and it was expensive. This is a Redding institution! Bud and "Babe" created this burger joint and only two owners since the 1940's. The current owners are second generation owner operators. I have been coming since 1962! My husband and I have been eating here for about 26 years and have always really enjoyed it. Anytime we go my husband gets a pineapple shake and I get banana, it's our favorite. We found ourself really craving one on this past Sunday... But unfortunately what we got wasn't the shake we were expecting instead of having real chunks of fruit like we are used to getting it seemed like we had just gotten plain vanilla shakes confused my husband asked if there had been a mistake when they informed him that they now just use artificial flavoring. Food was less than satisfying and service was worse. We won't be back and we are locals.

I may go here again when I'm in town because it's NOT a chain place and the servers were friendly, but at least on the strength of one visit (Double Damburger, fries, drink), the food's nothing special. Average fries, sort of dried-out two-thin-patties burger (that never works...), no choice of condiments, not even Tabasco or mustard on the tables. This place is AWESOME! Newly relocated from LA, CA, I was happy to be taken to this place by a local, who tells me this is an *Institution*, and I understand why. Yes, the patties are thin, but I like thin patties, and yes, you can order a double or triple to thicken it up if that's what you like. My first visit to Damburger was in 1977. It has been my favorite burger spot in Redding because the meat was cooked just right - I like the crispy edges. I went there for lunch last week and it was very disappointing. The prices have continued to go up, but the meat patty was so thin it was almost invisible. For the increased price I expected to at least get the usual Damburger. At this point I do not think that I will eat there again, and will not recommend to anyone either. It is sad because I love the area and the service is always good, but the decline in quality cannot be overlooked. My friends and I decided to go try Damburger's milkshakes. When we walked in, we were told to seat ourselves and to wait for the waitress. Our waitress looked to be about in her mid 40's, short brown hair and glasses. Almost immediately, we were asked what we would like to eat. We knew we wanted milkshakes, but we did not know the flavors, so we asked her for a few minutes to read the menu. She scoffed and walked away. The menu had no taste and the menu did not list the flavors for the milkshakes. Instead, the list was held in the corner of the room that was barely visible and was hard to read. Finally, we called the waitress over and we ordered a coffee flavor burst milkshake and a vanilla milkshake. When we received the milkshake, the vanilla milkshake was bland, and had way too much milk. My friend described it as it tasted like spoiled milk. The coffee flavor burst milkshake was nasty, to put it honestly. It wasn't watered down like the other one, but it tasted like meat and not coffee, as my friend described. The prices for the milkshakes were WAY over the top for this quality that we received. As we left, we were glanced at by the waitress and were given no "have a nice day" even though they did it for the previous people. One of my friends was finally fed up from this treatment and called the establishment. On the phone, she told me that she was greeted by the waitress saying, "Damburger." No hello, no friendly tone; just angry. My friend kindly asked her if they did refunds, and she bluntly said, "no." So at that time, my friend told her that she would be writing a review on Yelp and that she needed her name. The waitress hung up immediately. I would say that Damburger deserves a -10/10. The service was horrible, unfriendly, unwelcoming and dirty. It's a shame because I've heard good things about this place, but I see it for its true colors. Been eating burgers here since 1956. The biggest change is the price. Be aware, you first timers, the hamburger meat is thin. Overall, a very different taste, and very good.
