The venue does not have a ramp for strollers at the main entrnce (only a side entrance that my stroller did not fit through) so may not be as easily accessible for handicap guests. I really wanted to love this place, especially given all the incredible hype, but honestly, it didn't wow me. Don't get me wrong, they do all the little things right, like putting your drinks from the bar on a tray and bringing it to the table for you. Probably the only restaurant in Miami that does that. And bringing your leftovers to the front so you don't have to have them sitting on the floor next to you. These people know how to run a restaurant. Service was not only friendly, but impeccable in every way. The problem is that the food is...good. Everything was tasty but was in no way superior to Sunny's or even Perry's. And for the prices they charge, I was hoping for more. Salads were fresh and well prepared, but nothing special. We shared a few seafood dishes which were also..fine. We had a 9:30pm reservation for the upstairs restaurant/lounge concept (smaller menu + cigars), and the very first thing we heard after sitting down was essentially: "Just so you know, the kitchen closes soon." Not exactly the welcome you expect when there are two seatings and you've booked an actual reservation. From that moment on, the whole experience felt rushed and oddly... apologetic? Plates were cleared like we were in a speed round, yet the service itself was slow. The food plating looked more "late shift assembly" than steakhouse polish. And multiple times we were reminded our drinks were "coming from downstairs," which started to sound less like an explanation and more like a slogan. High prices + low-touch service is a tough combo. I wanted upscale lounge energy. I got Temu premium: looks like the brand, but the experience arrives... different. In a city with so many options, this will not stand the test of time. read more

The dessert options were a nice touch. They sent over a few of them which was nice as it was my birthday but still overall, I expected a much different experience. It's a steakhouse and the most expensive thing we ordered was the ribeye and it failed to deliver. It actually made me appreciate Perrys in the Gables and their cowboy ribeye - That thing ALWAYS hits. Six of us went to Daniel's for Miami Spice, and we were all amazed. It's a beautiful restaurant, and considering it was Sunday evening, the house was full. Dinner was superb. Everyone's drinks were even beautiful. My Aperol spritz was just a tad too weak on the Aperol, though was still good. I ordered the tiger shrimp as an appetizer and they were huge. I also had an oyster Rockefeller and it was great. We ordered the bread, and my picture says it all. It tasted even better than it looked, thanks to the delicious buttery spread. All six at our table ordered the fillet and potatoes. Since the meal included no vegetables (a definite flaw, to me) we ordered creamed spinach for the table. It came in a big pot, and every drop got eaten. So the dessert part is what lost that 5th star I so wanted to give them. Even I wouldn't serve company ready made dessert, let alone ice cream or sorbet. Neither the menu nor servers said anything about it being home made, like they'd raved over the bread. The dessert got no acclaim. And the soft serve portion was larger and came with a brownie, while my little lemon sorbet looked rather...little. Very anti-climatic. Finally got around to Daniel's and they did not disappoint! They certainly made us feel like VIP. From the call to modify my reservation to the hostess team and the servers, Eric and Paola, were all great! The ambiance was bright, busy and run smoothly. For starters, we started off with the bread and honey butter, and it was a great start! We didn't want to get stuffed with carbs, so we got half a loaf. Next, we had the shrimp cocktail (thanks Eric), Rockefeller oysters and Caesar salad to start and they were delicious. The red snapper and lamb shank were our main course selections, but I thought the lamb stole the show. It's served over well seasoned and creamy polenta. We added the lobster pasta and it was delicious and certainly had lobster within the dish and on top. I had a great mocktail; the watermelon one was refreshing and the ginger one had more of a bite and I loved it! The soft serve was ok for me, but the birthday dessert was a hit! 5/5 and be sure to make a reservation. On a positive note, the sourdough bread was downright amazing, and they served it hot however, they don't make it in house The corn pudding was good, not great and the lobster, while it clearly had a piece of lobster on the top and significant amount of cheesy sauce. It had very little taste. The, but even the piece of lobster on top of it seemed not to be as hot. As if they cooked it separately. They have an accident, wine menu, which they also did when they were Fiola, but I could honestly say that I drove 30 minutes for an extremely expensive meal. That wasn't worth half of what we paid. The dessert was very delicious. Chocolate hazelnut Cake. It was flavorful, and the consistency of the hazelnut and chocolate mousse were great. It was served quite cold, indicating to me that at some point, it may have been frozen. I know it didn't change the taste. I don't think this is made in house. read more

Such an amazing dinner! WOW. As a picky new yorker living in Miami this lived up to my expectations. Our waiter Augustine went above and beyond, and had the best recommendations. The ambiance is great, and the decor is very classic steakhouse. We enjoyed the miami spice menu, and some a la carte items. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and paired well with bearnaise sauce. Rockefeller oysters and the regular oysters were delicious. Regular oysters had an amazing passion fruit sauce on the side. The bread and the whipped ricotta were a 10/10. After reading reviews online, I was really looking forward to this meal. Unfortunately, I found everything just "okay". Not horrible, but definitely overrated and truly overpriced. I don't mind the occasional indulgent splurge that's totally worth it, but this just wasn't it for me. The wedge salad was overdressed, asparagus was basic, filet was just okay, and the lobster mac & cheese was cloying. I've definitely had better elsewhere on numerous occasions (including at home). The only item I can recommend is the Caesar salad. However, our server was attentive, professional and friendly. Our martinis were also good. The place was packed and extremely loud. Regarding the layout, their tables are placed way too close together, so the servers were constantly bumping into our chairs (obviously not their fault). I've never experienced that before and it was quite annoying, so it detracted from the already mediocre experience. Even the bread was just okay (and not even complimentary). I'm surprised this is the first review since there has been so much hype on other sites. Was it amazing? Absolutely! So why not five stars? That's simple, pricing. I absolutely loved Fiola, it was a gem hidden in south miami. When I heard it was closing for Daniel's I was disappointed, but living down the block I was excited to see what this steak house brought. If you've been to Fiola expect a very similar setup, they turned the restaurant in a month, so not much is different. With that being said it's still extremely elegant inside. Pro tip, they have many of the Fiola classics, just not listed on the menu, you need to ask for them, but they will accommodate. My GF and I went on a random Thursday. It had just opened the week before and I wanted to try out this new spot. The original reviews on other sites had mentioned reasonable prices(no Gables Tax) which I was pleased to hear. Originally the menus posted online did not show any pricing, so I went based on reviewers. I'm not a novice in the miami dining scene, unfortunately $400-500 dinners without a crazy bottle of wine have become the norm. I was expecting $200-300 for a decent dinner with a few cocktails. We started with the caviar and onion dip(yes I know, can't expect that to be cheap, but the amount of caviar for $54 was what you'd put on one chip!). Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely delicious. We also had the crab cake, with a tiny portion of caviar, good but not amazing, was a tad fishy. Looking over the steaks, they have a very wide selection of wagyu steaks as well as others, but I believe they start at $60 and go close to $300. We shared the hangar steak @ $65 which is typically a very inexpensive cut of steak. It was delicious, by far best hangar steak I've had. For sides we had the corn pudding $16, very good, definitely try it and the truffle mashed ($34). I'll put those mashed potatoes against my favorite(Joel Roebuchon). They were excellent. We didn't have desserts, we don't usually eat very much, but we did have drinks. Total bill was $480 with 20% tip. Service was very good. The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating is because it's obvious they had a soft opening with friends and family, and requested everyone to post 5 star reviews on other sites specifically stating reasonable prices. Is the food amazing, yes. I'd definitely go back, but it's very overpriced, especially if you'd like to cater to local residents that would like casual weekday dinners. If money is no budget, go for it. You won't be disappointed, but I wanted to give an honest review for local South Miami and gables residents. Thank you for reading. read more

Usually in this day and age, there are always people within a party who are more environmentally conscious, and for nothing to be available except for one salad and one side dish, is not taking into account a big majority of the population, whose eating habits have shifted away from meat. 1) I make reservations, the options are inside the restaurant with a photo of the inside of the restaurant or outside patio with a photo of the rooftop. I went with the outside patio, which actually means sidewalk with traffic noise. 2) my bf and I are pretty much dressed in all black. Waiter and assistant advised let me get you some black napkins. My thoughts are, wow this is amazing service. 30 minutes later appetizers arrive and I have to ask for a napkin and they bring white ones. 3) I brought my own bottle of wine to reserve some of the funds, knowing that it was an expensive restaurant. Corkage fee you ask? Oh its $95 (so the reasonable response would be to order a bottle of wine and save your cheap $35 bottle of wine that you brought from home) 4)ordered one of the cheapest bottles if pinot noir they had. They overprice their bottles of wine by 235% (that is the exact math) $79 bottle, cost me $180 5) appetizers i ordered: Chips and dip : consists of homemade potato chips, French onion dip topped with caviar. Was about $55. I was pleased with the taste, not the price, specially, for a small tablespoon of caviar Second appetizer was the special appetizer of the day, two stone crab claws with its knuckles. Was expecting no more than $80 for just two damn hands with its elbows. Nope was $140 when the check came. Third appetizer was half a dozen of Rockefeller oysters. Wasn't a fan. They make it with mint. Very odd combination. 6) do you want bread for the table? Yes please! OK you're now being charged $11 because you wanted bread. 5) $300 Wagyu Tomahawk. OK we're celebrating bf's birthday, definitely going with that Wagyu Tomahawk. One bite in consists of 100 chews to be able to swallow. I only end up eating about two very small pieces of the steak. I can't tolerate the quality. I then ask (verifying) This is a Wagyu Tomahawk?? Waiters response " well it's a blend". What the fuck does that mean? The cow was cross bread. He says he's going to take it up with his manager. Standby for the outcome. 6) order dessert.
