The food from this restaurant is usually pretty good and they deliver. I always get the sweet and pungent shrimp, egg rolls, Mongolian beef, chow mein, house fried rice, cream cheese wontons and orange chicken. Only had one problem with this place on that last delivery with the weird egg roll but other than that - they've been solid. I will order again in the near future. We always love coming to Dan's! They're always extremely efficient, clean, fast (even when they're busy during lunch rush hour), and best of all, fantastic menu! Really delicious options! Their lunch menu is unbeatable when it comes to the portion size, price, what's included, how fast they are, and how good it is! Nothing is too greasy! All very flavorful. My favorite is their 3 Ingredient Delight (with shrimp, beef, and chicken), their hot & sour soup, and chicken with mixed vegetables. Highly recommended! The only negative I can think of is that they unfortunately don't serve steamed brown rice as a healthier option/alternative to white, which I wish they did! read more

I used to come here at least once a week (usually 2-3 times) when I was working just down the street. Lunch here is fast, delicious and more than affordable. You have a variety of dishes to choose from and they all come with rice, a cup of soup and chinese kimchi. Some of my favorites include Kung Pao 3 way (chicken, beef and shrimp), Hunan Beef, Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, Walnut Shrimp, Galic Chicken Chowmein - the list goes on and on. The service is extremely friendly and fast which comes in handy when you have a short lunch break. I was meeting up with an old coworker and knew immediately where I wanted to eat. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to me and because of the great reviews. And I really was enjoying my wonton soup and shrimp fried rice, but then I ran into two very large pieces of egg shell in the fried rice. And I mean prices large enough to wonder how they missed it. So like many people I was indecisive tonight, and couldn't decide on if I wanted thai or chinese food. To make matters worse, I was very hesitant to try a new chinese restaurant, due to being disappointed many times in the past with LA's chinese cuisine. Thank god I chose chinese. This place is a must-have if you're craving traditional chinese takeout. Every dish I ordered was flavorful, vibrant, and most importantly CLEAN! Despite the fact that I came in 25 mins prior to closing, my lady server was very attentive and extremely kind. I've always passed this restaurant while running errands because I live 5 mins away, and boy am I happy I gave it a try, thank you guys for a great dinner, I will definitely be back! read more

We've eaten here many times and the food was ok. We ordered again on 2/13 and got a nasty surprise. Both the hubby and I got soup dumplings and hargow. Both of us now have the worst food poisoning I could imagine. It's day two and we're still so sick. Avoid like the plague. read more

The food is kind of average. The orange chicken is super super sweet and mostly breading. The egg rolls that are standard here are filled with potato and cream cheese instead of vegetables. It's a very very bland egg roll. We ordered chicken with broccoli and we instead received beef broccoli- which is a bummer because we don't eat beef. We did a take out order but the restaurant looked clean. The hot entrees are put into plastic containers so that's also a bummer. There wasn't really anything that was amazing sadly. No one out of the 5 of us that ordered finished our meal and the potato cheese egg rolls got tossed. read more

This place is horrible. We ordered the garlic chow mein and the noodles had 0 flavor and no garlic at all. We also ordered the soup dumplings and had zero soup. Place is not good. Don't even try to find out on your own. Take my advice. read more

So good! Love their dim sum items (appetizers). I'm not a dim sum expert however they taste delicious and authentic to me. They taste like they make them. Their orange chicken is our favorite as well as the chow mein. Wonton type soups are tasty and plentiful. Prices are very reasonable too! Looking forward for the day we can eat in there as well. read more

What does a West SF Valley boy gotta do to get "Great" Chinese food and not have to drive 40 miles one way to the San Gabriel Valley? This question and search has been on going in my household for over 20 years. So, I guess the magic word is "Great"! I've had a lot of " OK to Good" Chinese food like tonight at Dan's Kitchen, but I guess my damn bar has been set so high, that the local Chinese food places can't wrestle with the Mother Lode of places in the SG Valley. Don't get me wrong, Dan's Kitchen was good, and good is good, but L.A. (or SoCal) has lately been knocking my socks off, on a regular basis. I'm getting so used to being "Wowed", that I love it when it happens and hate it when I doesn't! I had good shrimp pot stickers, pork chow mein and sweet and sour chicken from Dan's last night. It was A-OK (Yelps 3 Star definition). I picked it up after ordering it Online and I must say that Dan's Online protocol is excellent. Their menu / ordering /shopping cart navigates so well, it's crystal clear and there will be no doubt when your order will be ready, exactly what's in it and the price. The food is packaged perfectly to keep it fresh and hot. Compliments to your cyber-crew. The restaurant (itself) is pristine and the staff is very friendly and helpful. All was "Very Good" except for me not getting "Wowed". This makes me think, that I'm either a food snob, cranky old man or a Diva. If I'm anyone of those three things, it's not very complimentary. I live pretty close to Dan's Kitchen so when I was sick and wanted some soup to clear my throat, I decided to give it a shot. We ordered takeout of Hot and Sour Soup and Shanghai Wonton Soup. After the initial sip of both broth, I thought maybe my tastebud was just off due to my cold. However, my partner tried the soup and he also agreed that they didn't taste very good. The Hot and Soup Soup was too salty, and the wontons from the other soup were absolutely horrifying--I don't know how to describe it except that it tasted old. We ended up throwing both away. Maybe I'll try other dishes in the future. read more

Ordered for the first time last night. First and foremost, its obvious this business takes pride in their service and product, as evidenced by the menu descriptions. As i ordered, it gave me belly grumbles, cuz i wanted it all in ma belly! TL;dr version: DO IT!!! When the delivery man arrived 15 minutes earlier than estimated, his phone call was delightfully friendly. He delivered with a smile and a thank you. The food was well packaged, and piping hot. The condiments were also top notch, name brand soy, housemade chilli oil, good mustard, and tangy sweet sour, and they remembered the requested plates. The walnut shrimp was tasty and crispy and perfectly coated with the sauce. I hate it when i get soggy shrimp dripping in thick puddles of overly sweet mayo sauce. Im very particular about this dish and was very pleased. The dim sum sampler was perfect for 2, and all the bites were delicious! Oh, and those signature egg rolls? Who knew potatoes and cream cheese in a wonton was so tasty? Dan, apparently. Also got the mapu tofu with pork. We ordered medium spicy, and it was silky hot goodness! We will order spicy next time, but the flavor and the perfect texture was what won me over. We will definitely be sampling more of this menu, esp when my vegetarian daughter visits us. read more

I had ordered takeout from this restaurant. I wanted the yang chow fried rice and wings. What I actually received was regular combination fried rice and burnt wings. I know it sounds silly to complain about the fried rice but it was way too salty which is why I prefer the yang chow fried rice. The wings were gross and burnt. I tied calling the restaurant and sending an email to address this issue but no response to both. read more

Their food is about as below average as those cheap bad Chinese fast food takeout. The noodles and steamed rice smelled like old burlap sack! The food we ordered either had no taste, not tasty at all, or it smelled. My mom and I swore we'd never go back. A couple of weeks ago, I was craving fried noodles. I don't know why I decided to give them a try again. What a waste of money!!! One thing improved, I guess... At least the noodles didn't smell like old burlap sack. As for taste... zero, nothing, bland AF and to top it all off, the noodles were over cooked so it's mushy!!! Seriously a Chinese restaurant who can't cook noodles??? WTH??? Anyway... It was disgusting! I ate a few bites, threw away the rest. What a waste of money!!! I don't know who keeps giving them praises for their food. May be those people just don't know any better and they've never had any good Chinese food. Golden City is definitely a "HELL NO! Never again!!!" for me. Perhaps it's because I'm Chinese that I hold a higher standard, but seriously... this place was disgustingly inedible!

Ordered a whole meat pizza a few months back and recently ordered from DoorDash their steak sandwich and the Alfredo pasta. I never dined in but the first visit was for the to-go pizza. Dining area is not that big but it's in a nice corner location so lots of window space and they have TVs if you ever want to watch sports. Since this is close to work - DoorDash delivery is good I got my orders (did it 2x) still warm. My pasta was hot and still creamy when I got it. Pretty good serving. I split it in 2 so i have a left over for the next day. It comes with a huge Italian garlic bread! Solid choice for Italian pizza, subs and pasta.
