WOW!!! First time, so we wanted to try a little of everything, Started with Calamari and small Greek pizza. Calamari was some of the freshest tasting we have ever tasted. The pizza was quite good, especially the crust. Next was the Italian grinder and steak & cheese wrap. Husband really liked his, while my steak & cheese was UNBELIEVABLE. I love Dan's. I honestly do. But today, my affection for the restaraunt was cemented by an awesome server, Carissa. The food was great, as always. We started with garlic parmesan wings and buffalo wings. My husband had a stuffed bacon cheesburger, I split a pizza with my son, (we will order extra cheese next time, but it was delicious) and my daughter in law had a meatball sub. We were all happy amd satisfied. But the icing on the cake was the above and beyond service from Carissa. She was attentive, fun and never made us feel rushed! I went to Dan's for the first time on July 20. No matter where I go, if fried pickles are on the menu we (my daughter and I) have to try them. Unfortunately this time my daughter was not with me. I was driving through from a road trip with two business partners. My partners have never tried the fried pickles anywhere so they were first timers. I have to say out of the many places I have had them, Dan's were the best. I just knew since my partners had not had them, they wouldn't care for them so I could bring the rest home. It's ALWAYS hit or miss here. No matter what you order. It depends whos cooking. The servers on the other hand are consistent....always nice, and attentive. Stick with the basics like burgers n grinders. Theres nothing really exceptional about the place. I've gotten lousy items before like nachos that are supposed to have pulled pork in them....barely found traces of pulled pork drowned in gobs of barbecue sauce, and mostly nacho chips and shredded iceburg lettuce....aweful ...and complained about it to no avail. Dan's recently changed their menu and dropped my favorite sandwiches. They still have great quality overall but I wish they didn't drop their chicken salad. I haven't ordered a burger since the new menu. Maybe it's due to not seeing something the way I wanted it. I should probably just ask if they will personalize it for me. The staff is still awesome!! We prefer to go right at opening. They can get crowded very quickly on the weekends. Back to the food. The poutine has been my favorite for the past couple years BUT now we have discovered the onion rings. These things are so good, even when they are stone cold (leftovers). By far the best onions rings I've had. Dan's has opened in NK at the Old Carriage Inn. We read in the news they were expanding to South Kingstown. I have not seen anything new in the news yet on when they plan to break ground. The location is walking distance so I'm getting kinda impatient (haha). Very curious to if Dan's will keep the biker style restaurant or cater to the URI crowd. read more

We visited this place 03/04/2018 for lunch . I ordered chicken and ribs combination. The French fries were under cooked and cold, coleslaw was saturated in mayo. the ribs were great, and worst part of the meal was the chicken it had a cleansing solvent taste to it. I told the new waitress and she only took $7:00 dollars off. My wife's meal of surf and turf was cold , shrimp was dried out and steak was so under cooked. Found Dans by mistake, but it was a good one. I can recommend the steaks. Hard to beat for the price. The one I had was better than what I had at 1149 at half the cost. The staff is friendly, but a bit slow. I think the focus is on people they know and the new guys are tended to to when they can. That being said, it is still worth the trip. I have also had their Ribs. Very good with the sauce. If you like them without the sauce (dry rub only), and you are from the south, you may be disappointed. For a just off the highway restaurant in a not very populated area, they way exceeded our expectations. We got the Poutine which was tasty (chicken gravy style), and a couple burgers. They were even awesome and made my daughter a kids size pulled pork sandwich. When a restaurant is happily willing to accommodate a very opinionated 3 year old, they get lots of brownie points! The only thing I have to complain about is the chefs you need to teach them how to cook meat. I had multiple issues with my family and me not getting the right temp food or undercooked food. There is a fun country atmosphere in here, similar to a toned down Texas Roadhouse. The menu is expansive for a smaller restaurant, and covers most of the basics. There are pizzas, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and entrees with steak or seafood. We had excellent, fast service. The food was really great quality. I have absolutely no complaints, and I would love to see some of the live music they have! The only reason it wasn't five stars is because there was nothing particularly memorable about the place to set it apart, meaning there isn't a reason to seek it out over other places.
