Tried this place two nights in a row because I was in town for the weekend and it had lots of traffic so I thought, how bad could it be? First night, I ordered the Philly cheese steak roles, bad idea(sounds better than the reality).They're terrible. Also tried the chicken parmesan with penne pasta too. The chicken was burnt on the edges and tough, then they not only didn't have a couple of the desserts that they had posted on the chalk board but they didn't give me any utensils nor napkins for my "To-Go" order, and I gave them 25% tip. SMH Second night, I decided to give them another chance and ordered the Jalapeño chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks. They forgot to include any napkins nor utensils again!!! WTH? You got the last tip from me, that's if I ever eat there again, doubtful. The sandwich was ok, the bread wasn't toasted or anything though, just straight outta whatever bag it probably came in. All in all, the sandwich was fine, but way overpriced for what it was. The mozzarella sticks were equally underwhelming. Also, again they did not have a dessert that was on the menu. Pathetic. Lazy (take it down off the board!) and disappointing. This place was mediocre at best. Lots of focus on the building and atmosphere with not enough on what's coming out of the kitchen. Btw: "To-go" means the customer needs everything to eat the food "on the go", how difficult is it to include a small packet of plastic utensils, ketchup for fries and some napkins? First time there (couple of weeks ago). Definitely went above and beyond. Server was excellent, prompt. I hope the pulled pork (we got on the nachos), ribs, and chicken were house smoked - cause all were great. Only downside is menu is huge; usually a bad sign. Pleasantly surprised, though. Dan's is a super popular local place, but despite it being just one exit south of Coventry, it's not a place I've been before. For some reason, there's a mental block for most people who live here about heading down 95 South unless you really have to, but after finally making the 10 minute trip, I know I'll be back more often. The upper parking lot is small, as the side of the building as you enter the lot is for employees only, you get a sense this place may be bigger than it seems on the outside. Fortunately there's a larger lot down below to accommodate the crowd. And there's always a crowd... Approaching the door, a great smell of grilled steak wafted out at us, and I remarked that I'm already sold just in the scent of the place. We were immediately greeted by a friendly young woman and seated in an open, airy, comfortable, rustic style room. TVs were playing live sporting events and a musician was playing acoustic guitar and singing. By the surroundings and the menu,its clear that Dan's wants to appeal to everyone, bit in doing so, it can be a bit cluttered and stretched thin. The menu is diverse, with lots of options, primary focus is pizza, pasta, burgers, chicken and steak items. We had chicken and veal parm. My daughter wanted to substitute pasta for a baked potato and green beans and was happily obliged by our friendly waitress. Both plates looked great and were tasty. I found the chicken much better than the veal. The pasta was cooked a bit beyond al dente, but was fine. The sauce features chunks of tomato and an extra hint of pepper, but was mostly pedestrian. The garlic toast was unsubstantiatial, low density bread, a bit disappointing. My daughter's baked potato made her happy and she loved the green beans with a touch of butter and garlic. For dessert, we went with a Sleeping Chicago Bear. A half baked chocolate chip cookie with cookie dough ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was a good dessert for two, tasty and fun, I just wished the cookie was a little thicker and freshly baked (or warmer). But it was worth getting. On the way out, I took notice of what people were eating and everything looks great. Pizza, half pound burgers, sizzling fajitas, so much to enjoy. The exiting smell around the doorway was fresh baked pizza. Also amazing. Overall, a really nice place with a great staff, nice menu, clean, and well maintained. Finally had a chance to try something else besides the BBQ or pulled pork. Get those when I do motorcycle runs to benefit other things. We tried the burgers that night they were very good. Very juicy came out cooked exactly the way we like them even though they were busy do it still able to seat us within like 2 minutes and did not have to really wait. We were splitting the burger but they very nicely took and put it on two different plates for us. Definitely go back there again for burger or even try something else we haven't tried before. Good ole' Dan's! So if you're looking for food in this area you probably realized you don't have a ton of options, and while there are a few, Dans is easily the best! My in laws live in this area and Dan's is one of our regular haunts for their delicious pizza (the chicken pesto and the meat lovers are both phenomenal)! We got the burgers this time, and they certainly did not disappoint either! This is a great place to go for food but they also offer live bands and good drinks! In general I would definitely recommend Dan's, especially if you're in the area or if you want to try some really good pizza! read more

Got takeout a few months back. You had to wait in your car in the parking lot until they called you on your cell phone. A woman working outside was, I guess, directing the flow. Arrived, 45 minutes went by since I called (was told 25 minutes to pick up). I got out and asked if my order was ready. The woman outside told me they would call. Got back in my car and waited another 15 minutes. Got out again. In the mean time the outside woman went inside and was flapping her lips with the girls behind the counter. I asked about my order. I was told they couldn't get through to me. Well, maybe if the clueless woman had a little initiative she would have noticed I had been waiting for an excessive amount of time. But noooo, too busy talking. Anyway, that was strike one. Last night, ordered take out for the first time since that incident, went in to get my food and no one in the kitchen is wearing a face mask as required due to covid. Sorry, that's strike 3. Man I wish I didn't live an hour away from this place! And being that it is almost up in the sticks, this place is always jammin! We went on a Saturday night and was it packed. I ordered BBQ wings for my app because admittedly I am a wing fanatic and this place has some of the best wings I've ever had. Just amazing! For my entree I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese. My goodness, orgasmic! I was in food heaven! We had a party of 10 and every person in my party loved their entree's. They also have a spacious bar area with big screens and they had a band playing there, which I think is a regular thing on a Saturday night here. Our waitress was on point despite us having a large party. I'm definitely coming back here first chance I get! Came here for the second time the other night as we had Italian grinder passports from RI Food Fights. Glad we did; we forgot how much we liked this place! As a typical Rhode Islander, we usually don't even think of coming "all the way" to West Greenwhich. But, this visit has convinced us to put it on our rotation. Service was great; friendly & made awesome recommendations. Menu has so many options! Don't come here on a diet...it'll be hard not to cave. Place had a good sized bar area, but also has a nice amount of seating away from the bar too, which makes me totally comfortable bringing my kids. And prices were reasonable. Food was pretty good. We split Italian grinders & 2 small pizzas. Grinders we're good; your standard Italian grinder; nothing fancy. The pizza was tasty. We had a hard time choosing just 2 to try. First things first. Our waitress carried around the black "tab" holder in her pants over her butt crack. Not in her back pocket, but wedged deep in her jeans. Let's hope she was wearing a long shirt. The buffalo wings were pretty good. Quite spicy for a sauce that you don't get to choose the temperature on. The bleu cheese is served in a plastic capped container straight from the refrigerator. Not exactly presentation-friendly but still tasty. My bourbon hamburger was delicious though pretty impossible to eat because it was gigantic. Cutting it in half just made it messier. Sauce was served on the side rather than on the hamburger but my guess is that it was to avoid soggy bread. Good call. We couldnt get our waitresses attention to grab us silverware until our buffalo wings had been sitting on the table for 10 minutes either. Other than that, this place is very clean, very elaborate and very "chain" looking though I have no idea if it's a chain. If you just picked a Christmas Tree up the road at the tree farm and you're looking for lunch like we were, it's a good convenient place to stop. read more

The friendly name of "Dan's Place" could make you think of a cozy small shack, but what you get is a (still cozy) barn-building giant space, which when Friday afternoon turned into evening was quite populated and still not packed. The menu is similarly vast, spanning from simple stuff like poutine and paninis, to lavish Gorgonzola infused dips, to exotic general tso pizza (color me perplexed, but still...). I got the chicken ciabatta which (beside the namesakes) has a tasty pesto and a few vegetable trappings. A solid conventional choice, which paired perfectly with the previously mentioned Gorgonzola dip that we ordered on the side with some hand cut chips. The only downside were the fries, a sad affair that surprised me (the family vibe had me dream of similarly handcuffs delicacies), floppy and unsalted. The experience also had a definite upside in Christine P, our friendly, solicitous, and efficient server. We drove home from the Zoo and decided to stop as the review stars were high and it was right off 95 South. We had a cheese pizza, wings and burgers. The pizza (figured was amazing as a BIG portion of menu) was not very tasty. Sauce kinda sweet tasting maybe and just bland. The burgers were advised to be cooked to Medium Well but came out well done. The wings were very good except for the strange hard nugget that was impossible to stab with a fork. We like Dan's Place because they offer an extensive gluten free menu. They have pizzas, burgers, wings, and different assortment of entrees. The pricing for the quality of food is rather expensive. It's convenient if you live in the area as there is not really that much to choose from. The salt and vinegar wings are in my opinion the best ones. If you get wings for take out they are soggy by the time you get home so eat them there. The Dan's Pizza and Four cheese pizza are good. As well as the Dans Burger. When ordering drinks I stick to what's generic (capt & coke, beer). A couple of the mixed drinks that I have ordered... not so good. Out of all of Dans locations I will say the Carriage Inn is the best for making good mixed drinks (key lime martini... cough cough... THE BEST around. I only wish this location made them the same!!) Dans place is conveniently located right off of 95 in West Greenwich. If you're hiking in Arcadia Management Area, this is a really convenient spot. There is plenty of seating and the service was very quick, even though it was packed on a football Sunday. The prices were very reasonable. We had a burger and a grinder and both were delicious- the large grinder is definitely enough for leftovers! The fries were also delicious. If you do want to watch a game or sporting event, they have a huge screen on the wall to project the game. I bet it gets packed for a big Pats game! Normally I would think a long wait would mean it's really worth it but my experience wasn't anything other than average in fact our food wasn't even that good. My boyfriend got a Ruben he said it was ok. I ordered buffalo tenders they were all over cooked. I probably should have said something to the waitress but we were on our way to an event at Foxwoods so I didn't have much time, especially because it took forever to get the food. We did each have a sangria which was good. I think I would give this place another shot. We stopped here for dinner on 1/6/18 on our way back from Providence. Our waitress was Heather T. And she was fantastic! I had the chili for an appetizer and the grilled sirloin for my dinner. I enjoyed them both but was a little disappointed with the steak (a little tough and a bit fatty). My wife had a cod dish and she really enjoyed it.
