Always a reliable spot for quality matcha latte! I got the life is matcha latte which has matcha with vanilla syrup and matcha cream top with sea salt. It's a very high quality matcha drink and I love their cream top and sea salt which balances the drink well. I personally don't really like vanilla syrup in my matcha but it was still a solid drink! One of my go to places in the area!
I had a good experience at Danzzan (Rowland Heights). I ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte ($7.95). It's Ceremonial Matcha, Banana Pudding, and Vanilla. TASTY! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Danzzan (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 11AM - Opening Time). Parking is easy. There's a customer parking lot in the rear. Customers primarily order on the self-service kiosk. Staff is quiet and polite. Staff appeared fatigued and going "with the motions," but Staff worked diligently. My drink took two minutes and 34 seconds. Good time. As mentioned I ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha Latte ($7.95). YUM! It's silky, chill matcha! I especially love when the earthy matcha is properly balanced with something sweet. The taste of vanilla and banana is much welcomed. It all tasted very fresh, and it was common hearing the other ordering customers whisper aloud... "This is good." On ambiance, Danzzan (Rowland Heights) is charming. There's cute knickknacks and comfortable seating. However, I recommend a more thorough sweeping once in a while. For example, I had to crush a small bug crawling under my table while I was waiting. The corners feel slight neglected, but the place does feel relatively clean. Danzzan (Rowland Heights) also has good utility. There's about five electrical outlets. And there's customer internet with password; password details are on the table w/ straws and utensils. There's also a gender neutral restroom for customers (not the public). I also appreciated the upbeat music. All in all, it's a solid study/work space. Overall, I had a good experience at Danzzan (Rowland Heights). The matcha is lovely, and the spot has hidden potential. It's also still very popular with the locals. If searching for a tasty matcha latte option, I happily recommend. 4.8 out of 5
I ordered the Earl Grey Matcha and Hojicha, both with regular sugar and regular ice. The Earl Grey Matcha had delicate notes of Earl Grey that complemented the matcha nicely without overpowering its flavor. The Hojicha was pleasantly toasty, smooth, and perfectly sweetened. Ordering was easy through a self-service kiosk that displayed prices, photos, and customization options. The service was fast, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The interior has a cozy, dimly lit atmosphere balanced by plenty of natural light streaming in from outside. Parking is available behind the building, making it convenient to visit.
Danzzan is a cashless matcha shop with a small parking lot in the rear of the building. The interior is on the smaller side, but they do offer WiFi for those who want to study or get work done. I ordered the black seasme matcha and liked the adjustments they could make to the sweetness level. While the matcha was balanced and mild in tasts, the black seasme foam was a lot more prominent than the matcha. Overall, the drink was nutty, but lacked the stronger matcha notes I was hoping for.
This is one of the best matcha places in the area. The drinks are well balanced and you can tell they have really good matcha quality. There is a large selection of matcha varieties (strawberry,banana, super matcha). This is my second time coming and I was excited to try something new. I tried the banana matcha and it was really well done. It had a deep matcha flavor with banana pudding scoop on top which gave it a subtle banana flavor and added a little extra sweetness and texture to the drink. Would definitely recommend. The service is great for the shop being a one man show they get the drinks made relatively quick. :) there's comfy seating inside and great atmosphere.
While this location is small, it is beautifully decorated, and feels very homey. We got the black sesame hojicha and black sesame matcha, and they came out so prettily! The nuttiness of the hojicha works better with the black sesame cream, which wasn't very thick. The black sesame matcha was more black sesame-y than matcha, but still both were a good sweet treat. For only 25 cents more, you can get no ice and they do fill it up still, so that's very worth the upcharge. Service was fine, but nothing outstanding.
Danzzan is another popular coffee/tea/cafe spot in the area. It's not like traditional milk tea at other spots. I want to say it's more westernized fusion? I got an energizer drink and it was pretty fizzy and sweet. It does look pretty in the picture but it was not really my thing. The interior of this place is not too big, there are a few spots if you wanted to use a laptop/study but some of the spots have pretty hard seating like metal stools. The way you order is through a kiosk and there was maybe only 1 person working there when I went. All they do is make you drink or get you your snack if you ordered a snack but there is no service. They did have a variety of cookies but they didn't look that appealing so I didn't want to try it. Parking for the place isn't too bad, they have shaded spots that you could park under. Overall, it's a decent spot, but I probably won't return here.
I was initially a little hesitant to try the matcha after seeing a few reviews saying it was "mid" or not ceremonial-grade, but I completely disagreed. I ordered the Life Is Matcha, which has double matcha, and it absolutely satisfied my matcha craving! The flavor was very matcha-forward with the perfect balance of smooth and earthy. It was rich and thick, and the sweet cream top added just the right amount of sweetness with a subtle saltiness that tied everything together. It also gave me a smooth, steady caffeine boost without making me feel jittery. Honestly, it was bomb. My husband ordered a plain vanilla latte. Although he was congested and couldn't fully taste all the flavors, he still enjoyed it and said he liked the smooth caffeine boost from it as well. The male employee working was friendly and made both of our drinks really well. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area!
I heard about this quaint cafe shop through a recent Yelp SGV event which I was not confirmed in to attend. It's all good. It surely didn't stop me from dropping by to support this small biz. Danzzan is conveniently located at Colima Plaza in Rowland Heights. It faces the very busy Colima Rd. Free parking is available on the side and back of the building. Got here 15 minutes before closing time on a Wednesday evening. A very friendly and nice young gentleman greeted me immediately. Since this was my first time here, I asked a lot of questions. Thank you Cy for your great recommendations and being patient with me. Interior is very cozy and comfy. Its atmosphere is soft with warm lighting. Great place to spend any time of the day with family and friends. One all gender restroom is available at the back of the shop. Ordered 3 matcha drinks and 1 cookie (got lucky because they only had one left... it was meant for me!). Prices for the drinks were reasonable. However, the cup size could be bigger. As for the cookie prices, they are on the higher side ranging from $4 - $7+ per cookie. Found out they don't make too many cookies in one day so do take advantage when they are available for purchase. *Matcha DanZzan - My top favorite out of the 3 drinks. Matcha was not overpowering. House vanilla cream was very smooth. Not ultra sweet. Very well balanced drink. Highly recommend! *Dubai Chocolate Matcha Latte - For the pistachio + crispy kadaif lovers, this drink is for you! Unique with some nice crunch. Just need a tad bigger straw to get the crispy kadaif through smoother. *Strawberry Matcha Latte - Nice and light. Not super sweet. Good go-to drink if nothing else comes to mind. *Chocolate Peanut Butter Sea Salt Cookie - SO YUMMY and PEANUT BUTTERY! I can taste the smoothness of the chocolate + generous amount of peanut butter + hint of sea salt. Not too sweet. Just perfect. Definitely would get again! Overall visit and experience was wonderful with super friendly staff + exceptional service plus amazing matcha drinks and delectable cookie. Yes, I'll be back!
I remember getting durian smoothies at this old location, and I see that they have new been taken over by this new spot, which I was excited to try out. I love the vibes, it's a little dark more towards the back, but I think it's still super cute. I also love the wooden finishes, it's a nice place overall. However, the drinks were just okay. Nothing special. The hojicha tasted faint and milky. The tea was watered down. I had higher expectations, but perhaps I'll just have to come back and try a different drink. The flavors felt very faint and the presentation was pretty, but I think the recipes can be tweaked to be stronger. The cookie was great tho! A little salty, but it'd be even better warmed up.
Everyone is saying that this spot is better than Stagger, I have to agree but I'm also don't understand the hype with that. Their Double Matcha is the better drink to get. The Coconut Matcha isn't made with fresh coconut water, kind of disappointed when the drink was almost $8 for a 12oz. You can order using the kiosk which makes it easy. I ordered the Matcha Coconut Cloud through their kiosk. If you're looking for something light and not overly sweet, this is a great choice. The matcha top had a subtle bitterness that balanced nicely with the coconut, and the coconut flakes on top were a nice touch. The space itself is cozy and functional, but there isn't a ton of study space. There's one long table that could fit 4 people and one circular table, along with about 2-3 outlets. It works if you get there at the right time, but it can fill up quickly. That said, I really loved the ambience in the evening. The lighting felt warm and inviting, and the music was chill without being distracting. read more

Ordered the Life is Matcha Latte with the less sweet option, and it was perfection. Creamy with lovely green shade, and can't wait to return to try their other drink options. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to grab some matcha and get a little studying done. They have a self-serve kiosk which made ordering quick and easy, and drinks came out fairly fast. Seating is limited so not the best study spot. Definitely better for a casual catch-up with friends. 1. Matcha Danzzan- Comes with a creamy vanilla cream top, oat milk, sea salt, and matcha. The cream top was rich, but the milk overpowered the matcha, so the flavor leaned more milky and I couldn't taste the matcha well. 2. Little Forest Latte- Preferred this over the matcha. The chocolatey hazelnut cream top was bold without being too sweet, and it paired nicely with the drink overall. Parking was easy with their private lot. read more

After my last visit I was hesitant to update my review as I loved a good cozy cafe like DANZZAN with good vibes and drinks but the staff I've encountered the last two visits were a buzzkill. I walked in and no one was there at front- only few customers sitting in the lounge area. I saw the kiosk and proceeded to order. A few minutes after placing my order I was gonna ring the bell but then I see a staff casually walks out and started making my drink. Eye contacts were there but no convo no words no smile no greetings. Would be such a shame to lose business because of service for a great matcha cafe like DANZZAN! read more

Kind of a weird experience today. I don't usually come by this spot since I live in San Gabriel, but whenever I'm in the area I like to stop in. This was probably my fourth visit, and up until now I've always had good experiences! The drinks have been good, the cookies are solid, and I've always enjoyed the overall vibe of the shop. That's why today felt a little off. I ordered three cookies and a Hojicha latte to go. Normally, service here feels friendly and smooth, but this time the interaction was awkward. The girl at the front seemed standoffish with me for some reason. She put my drink and the three cookies on the counter, but didn't provide a bag. Since it was a takeout order, I asked for one, and she just kind of stared at me before handing it over. No words, no smile. I ended up packing the cookies myself, and then she walked away. After that, I noticed my latte didn't have a lid either, which was surprising since most shops automatically put lids on takeout drinks. It wasn't the biggest deal in the world, but the energy felt cold and unwelcoming compared to my past visits. Part of what I liked about this place was the cozy ambiance and cool aesthetics. It usually feels like a spot where the service matches the vibe. But today just didn't line up with that. I'll probably still come back because I've had positive visits before, but I really hope this was just an off day and not the new norm. read more

A cute cafe in the Rowland heights area. A good spot to hang out with friends. I got the life is matcha latte and it was good. They don't have many food options besides the cookies and dessert. Can have limited seats during busy hours and not many large tables. read more
They have free wifi and the code is next to the self order kiosk. Maybe it was the day I went but it was pretty loud inside so I wouldn't recommend this cafe to study or get work done. Tables are pretty limited. There are maybe around 3 - 4 tables in the back and individual bar type seating facing the front entrance. There is a self order kiosk on the left side of the front ordering table. Life is Matcha: I liked how the cream top has sea salt so it balances the sweetness. It's a good standard matcha. Not too sweet and it's creamy. There is no astringency to the matcha. GreenBerry Cloud Cookie: Beautiful presentation. However there is no matcha flavor at all. It tasted like a standard vanilla cookie. The strawberry jam and cream cheese was a nice addition. There are lots of free parking in the plaza. After parking, walk to the front near the bus stop and thats where Danzzan is. read more

This place replaced other dessert premise that has been shut down. The 'Life is Matcha Latte' had real & rich taste of matcha, while the Bubbly Blueberry was 'OK'. Chestnut Tiramisu stole the show through its unique menu. There is a self-service kiosk to order and pay which makes order more convenience. The downside is limited desserts menu and the place doesn't maximize the tiny capacity. There is some shelf placed for some decoration which actually can be used as seating area.. read more
By far the best place to get a real matcha drink. I ordered from one of their signature drinks the Life is Matcha Latte with oak milk and 50% on the sugar. It was perfectly made. I have been looking for a good matcha drink, especially after just returning from Japan and I have to say, this place has moved up on the top of places I have been to. My girlfriend order the Matcha Coconut Cloud and it was perfect for her as she was looking for a drink with no sugar. The service was great and the gentleman was very helpful in answering my questions. Love the ambience. Although it is a small location, it's a great spot to just hang out and catch up with a friend or just a place you for quiet work time needed. The location is right on Colima and parking can be found on the side or behind the building. I will definitely be returning. read more

Finally tried this place and it did not disappoint! the life is matcha latte was the right color and perfectly sweet. The gochujang sea salt caramel cookie was warm and yummy. Customer service was also very fast and I like that you can self order on the screen as well. I would come here again! read more
We tried the gochujang sea cookie, soo soo cream cheese cookie, little forest latte, and the cold brew with matcha cream. The cookies were unique flavors and especially the gochujang one was sweet with the slightest spice. They were good but I wasn't sure if I enjoyed having too much of it personally. Came here for a late night dessert and drink. The interior is aesthetic and modern and feels like a great spot to study or work during the day. Staff was friendly and answered my questions about the menu. I got the strawberry matcha latte and a black sesame tiramisu. The latte was creamy with a strong matcha flavor and a layer of strawberry jam that added a nice sweetness. The tiramisu had a great black sesame taste and wasn't too sweet. Trending new matcha place in Rowland Heights! The interior is very nice, with green themed decor and a bookshelf. We came in at around noon or late noon and there were quite a lot of people inside. There was a couple tables empty still so we sat there. Clean bathrooms as well. We ordered the matcha cream top and a double matcha. Both were very high quality and well made! Very tasty. We also ordered a gochujang cookie, which was very interesting! It had a little kick to it for sure and the texture was chewy. I enjoyed it, and loved the marshmallow in the middle too. Last time I came here, they had pre-sweetened matcha - changed it! Now you can get the matcha as is, and the regular sugar option is perfectly balanced (not too sweet). I love their matcha options; they're very creative with unique takes. It's more of a matcha shop than a coffee one. Please try their cookies! They were so delicious. They have a gochujang cookie, which I've dreamed about every day since. I love this coffee shop because they have free Wi-Fi and the cutest sitting space. 5/22/2025 A new Korean cafe in Rowland Heights. Not sure why the cafe's address is listed as La Puente on Yelp. Google Maps says Rowland Heights. Even their receipt has the right address. Please see picture with the correct address. LIFE IS MATCHA LATTE It was a full flavored matcha from beginning to end, matcha fest all the way through. The flavor of the Hikari matcha was decent, but it wasn't my favorite matcha. There was lots of cream in this drink. Overly creamy in my opinion. Good thing is that it wasn't overly sweet. Just based on the taste of the matcha, I wouldn't order it again. LITTLE FOREST LATTE This was overly sweet from the first sip. Lots of heavy cream too. Hojicha flavor was there and the chocolate cream on top blended with the hojicha complemented it Overall it was better than the matcha latte. If it was less sweeter, I think I would have liked this a bit more. But would like to come back to retry this drink with a little bit less sugar. HOJICHA BLACK SESAME TIRAMISU Seemed like a good dessert flavor to try. It did taste like hojicha and black sesame, yet the Oreo garnish on top threw me off. Is there Oreo inside too? Honestly, the hojicha and black sesame combo vaguely tastes like an Oreo. However, there is no Oreo in the tiramisu. I wanted to love this, but the flavors did not work for me. Two nutty flavors fighting for attention. The tiramisu was too mushy and the sponge cake disintegrated. The whipped cream on top was overly whipped too. The overall texture of the tiramisu layers and the cream together was a weird texture. I will not be trying this again. Would I visit again? If I'm in the area, yes. But I will not go out of my way to come here. According to their current menu, it seems they don't offer any coffee. They seem to specialize in matcha and other tea-based beverages. SEATS It's a small cafe, not a lot of tables and seats. I think there were about 4-5 small tables for 2 and seats. One bench seat for take-out orders. It's a cute cafe and very cozy. CUSTOMER SERVICE Came in at 4:00pm in the afternoon on a Thursday. Only one barista who also took my order. There was another person who brought my cake order out and added utensils when requested. Very friendly service. LOCATION Crossroads: Colima + Batson. Directly across Colima Medical Center. Best to park at the Colima Plaza Parking lot behind Danzzan. It's a small parking lot, but try there first before looking elsewhere. There is no street parking, so you would have to park at another business if you cannot park at Colima Plaza parking lot. read more

The little matcha treats in Rowland Heights are seriously worth the hype! DanZZan Cafe totally stole my heart! First off, the vibe here is amazing. It's not one of those grab-and-go drink shops -- the interior is full of thoughtful, cozy decor, and every corner is so photogenic . When I went, I saw couples on cute little dates, friends hanging out, and even people working on their laptops -- the atmosphere is just perfect! Plus, the girl who made my drinks was so pretty -- totally put me in an even better mood, haha! Here's what I ordered Snowy Coconut Green Strawberry -- Coconut + matcha + strawberry, layers of fluffy milk shaved ice drizzled with fruit syrup and house-made cream. One bite and you're basically on vacation at the beach Matcha Strawberry Tiramisu -- A twist on classic tiramisu with strawberry and rich milk tea flavors. Super smooth and just the right amount of sweetness. Wake Me Up -- Looks like a cocktail, tastes like magic! Yangmei, rose, and cold brew jasmine tea -- really refreshing and gives you an instant pick-me-up Strawberry Matcha Latte -- Strawberry and matcha are a match made in heaven! The fruity sweetness balances out the bitterness of the tea , plus the gradient layers look gorgeous. Matcha Coconut Cloud -- My personal fave! The thick milk foam is a treat on its own . The coconut flavor is mellow, the matcha is fragrant, and together they're super silky. All in all, this place isn't just delicious -- it's also so cute for photos. The gochujang sea salt caramel cookie was really tasty, the combo works surprisingly! I got a strawberry matcha latte. The matcha was pretty strong and tastes high quality, but overall nothing too special about it. Def recommend the cookie! The worker mistook one of our drinks but made the correct one after we let them know, despite it being near closing time, so that was very kind. The atmosphere/interior inside is kind of dark, but probably going for modern/chic/minimalist. Restroom and small parking lot out back available. read more
Delicious!! My friend and I shared a chestnut tiramisu and it was more than enough for the two of us. The chestnut flavor is not super strong; it mostly tastes like a regular tiramisu flavor, which I prefer. Not too heavy or sweet! It was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. Service was quick and we got an empty table immediately. The interior is really pretty and comfortable-there were quite a few people inside studying/working. Potentially the best matcha I've had around the area! The "Life is Matcha" reminds me of Stagger's double matcha but less sweet, which I prefer. You can customize level of sweetness too. It wasn't busy on a Sunday afternoon so service was quick. The decor was very aesthetic, and they have tables and WiFi for people who want to hang out til late at night. read more

Life is Matcha & Little Forest Latte: Both very high quality drinks. Glad to have found another good matcha place in the 626 area :D. The little forest latte btw doesn't taste like hojicha so much, has more of a chocolatey taste (wouldn't order again). The Life is Matcha was super light and you can def taste the quality. Stopped by heat before going on a hike and I'm glad I did! They have plenty of parking behind the building. Ambiance is very cute and eclectic inside. I got the "Life is Matcha" which is a vanilla matcha with cold foam and it was delicious!! Exactly what u would expect for a vanilla matcha. Also very aesthetic. The cup felt a little small but I'm okay if it means the flavor is strong. Definitely worth checking out. read more
One of the best matcha & dessert spots in LA! Matcha snob approved!! They use hikari single origin ceremonial matcha, which is super high quality :-) I ordered their life is matcha latte (double matcha) and matcha danzzan latte. Smooth, creamy, and delicious with the perfect amount of sweetness. Aside from their matcha, they have unique desserts, including freshly baked cookies. My personal fave is the viral gochujang cookie. Sweet, savory, and spicy, plus a chewy texture and gooey center ~ Their snowy persimmon is also refreshing and not overly sweet. Just make sure to eat it before the cornflakes get soggy! From the cozy vibes to their unique menu, Cafe Danzzan is a must-try! We went when it wasn't busy and got the Life is Matcha Latte and the Little Forest Latte. Life is Matcha Latte 6.7/10 - Sweet matcha because of the vanilla - Tastes like what you expected out of a sweetened matcha latte - Wish there is a bit more ice - Matcha Cream has a nice slight bitterness Little forest 7/10 - Chocolatey taste with some hazelnut notes - Light matcha taste - Good if you want more of a chocolate flavor but not enough matcha hints Service was quick with one person taking the order and making the drinks. Spacious and clean modern interior with some seating and tables. They also have a parking lot! Will come back to try the cookies! read more

The flavor was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced--not too sweet but sweet enough just the right amount. You can really tell they pay attention to quality and detail. Finally got the chance to check this matcha place out in SGV. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it but glad I went and gave it a try. Parking - They have their shared parking lot in the back BUT it's really small and tight. Service - The service was great, they greeted you when you walk in and also when you leave. If you're not sure what drink you want, can always ask for recommendations as they will help and guide you through. Matcha "Bae" Tonic - Ceremonial Matcha, pear, tonic, and lemon . This is probably one of the refreshing matcha drinks I've tasted in a while. Definitely recommend. Gochujang cookie is also a must order to try. Absolutely love this gem of a cafe. I've came here a few times since seeing them on Instagram. The establishment itself is fairly narrow, but can still fit a decent amount of people. Parking is okay. Staff is very nice. I've tried their matcha drink and their hojicha black sesame latte. Both high quality drinks made with high quality matcha and hojicha. They have the perfect amount of cream, sweetness, and flavor of the respective latte. read more

Sgv's best double matcha!! This place is on the side of the street with parking lot in the back :) The seats are not as much as the other cafes and it is quite small but the vibes are great!! The service is super quick and I liked the barista as she was patient and kind. The life is matcha latte is the star here -- as well as their cookies! Try the korean gochujang cookie, it's the perfect balance between spicy and sweet :) I will return again to study or yap!! read more

DRINK the drink itself is very good + i got a cookie bc i was enticed and i was not disappointed either haha SERVICE i did not wait long for my drink at all but there was also no line and it was not that busy LOL AMBIANCE the ambiance is sooo cute. tbh, i did not expect it bc its like around the corner, buuut there's a lot! of space inside and there were a feww ppl doing work bc its relatively quiet read more
Matcha of Life Latte: 6/10 Definitely on the sweeter side of matcha drinks I've had. Not bad, just depends on your preference. For the price of $6.75, the size is freakin crazy small. Like wild. Matcha Coconut Cloud: 1/10 Bro. This one was wild. I took one sip and I was drinking straight unsweetened coconut water. This was after I fully mixed everything the foam and everything lol. I was actually baffled. There were also coconut shreds on top. Not my favorite in a drink. I would have preferred fresh coconut chunks, but if they can't afford fresh coconut chunks, they should just get rid of it altogether. Ambiance: 5/10 Came around 8pm. The inside is cool to look at first glance. Got busier as time went on. Everything is pretty aesthetic, but the back seating area is a mess and kinda weird. The seating is a bit awkward and there's no clear pathway for customers to walk directly to the back where the restrooms are. Also, just being nit-picky, but they need to choose one type of light cuz it's throwing me off LOL. Like they got one cool one and then the rest look basic af. The color palette of inside of the place matches tho so it looks nice. TDLR: Matcha Latte on the sweeter side. Matcha coconut is DAWG bro. Don't get that shit or edit it or sumthin. Overall, it's mid for the price. They got a BOGO 50% from 6pm-whenever so that's the only reason I'd say to try. read more

It's difficult to make a perfectly balanced matcha drink with a fruit base/ syrup, but Danzzan did it and pretty well, I might add. A lot of places either make the matcha too watery or the fruit base is too faint to taste. However, the Mango Matcha latte here is perfectly balanced and not too sweet. The employees are friendly and welcoming. The seating is decent, however the tables are on the small side. Outlet availability is a bit sparse, so a fully charged laptop is your bestfriend. read more
