Love the environment! Perfect for date night or girls night out. Fast service and flavorful food. Didn't get any drinks but they looked amazing.

CAVEAT: the music was very, very loud on a Sunday at around 1pm. I'll come back here for sure, and I can definitely imagine revising this review with more experience. I stopped in for brunch on my own and everything was excellent, particularly the chummy and lightning-fast service from Bethany and Anna. This restaurant is directly connected to their sibling-restaurant Hope Breakfast Bar, so when it comes to brunch fare it must be a little like they are fighting for the same customers. But my Benedict Prosciutto was very nice, and Hope's menu doesn't have anything like that. Totally different decor in here too; spacious and modern. They have a little market section which got me excited because I was going to a dinner party later and was looking for something to bring, but they didn't have anything appropriate for that, or really very much at all. It would be cool if they had some compelling offerings there. The location is exciting. It's at the ground floor of that new building that overlooks Target Field across the street. That means it's a good idea to know if it's a game day or not, and it also makes parking something to plan in advance, although they do offer valet parking on Friday and Saturday evenings. I'll be back to try their dinner entrees, or even some of the more adventurous brunch items (breakfast pizza sounds very intriguing). But based on the volume of the music, I don't think I'd come for brunch with anyone that is even a little bit soft-spoken.

The crew and I ventured to Salt & Flour for brunch where I immediately noticed a lack of brunch photo coverage. Obviously we had to fix that. Here are our findings: Service (10): Our waitress was amazing. Seemed very nice and made good recommendations. Ambiance (9): I liked the blend of aesthetics and house music. It was definitely an upbeat, comfortable experience. Food (7): See below for a full breakdown but overall I'd say the food was good, nothing to write home about. Drinks (8): What you'd expect when you order mimosas. Pretty good! Joe (Benedict Florentine): Rated 3.9/5. Enjoyed the Bloody Mary shot. Caveat: he is not a foodie. Abdul (Benedict Florentine): Rated 3/5. Wanted more flavor and something to bite into. The prosciutto was a bit too crispy for him. Taylor (Johnny Cakes): Rated 2/5. Wanted more flavor. Morgan (French Toast): Rated 4/5. Appreciated the crisp and simplicity. Josh (Breakfast Pizza): Rated 4/5. I would agree. Max (Steak and Egg Bites): Rated 2.5/5. Enjoyed the egg and salad. Steak was underwhelming. Appreciated the Cajun flavoring but would prefer less fat. Myself (Breakfast Hash): 4/5. I liked this a lot but agree that some of the steak pieces are straight fat. Overall, I really enjoyed the interior of Salt & Flour and would recommend for larger groups! I'm interested to try their dinner as it seems to be what they're known for. I'm glad we tried the brunch but I'm not sure it would be my go-to recommendation for food or flavors!

Cute restaurant- more casual during the day and can be more fancy at night. Cute for a date night! We've only tried the Margarita Pizza. It's good! Wish it came with a dipping sauce but realized after we finished you can buy sauce on the side for $2+. Too much for a side of dipping sauce IMO. Staff was very friendly. Valet parking available, Northloop ramp/Ramp C are close for parking, walking distance to the Twins Stadium.

Airline chicken with my almost finished wine. (was never able to order a second since the server was MIA for most of the meal)

I was invited here for a friend's birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary valet. Considering the area, I was nervous about finding parking. The atmosphere was warm and inviting but it was quite loud. The music was noticeably loud so it was hard to have a good conversation. Keep in mind it was 7pm on a Saturday night and we were smack dab in the middle of the dining room at a table of 13 people. I ordered the airline chicken since I wasn't in the mood for pasta and am not the most adventurous with clams and duck. Prices were expected for sure. The airline chicken was good. It wasn't amazing but it was good. The birthday girl split the Spritzer tower with her partner and that looked really fun! I ordered a glass of red wine and the pour was hefty, which I enjoyed. I would have gladly had another glass but our server never came back to check on us until we were trying to figure out the bill. Other workers did bring our food out and auctioned it off since they didn't know who had ordered what. They also refilled our waters but no second drinks were ordered by anyone in our party. They surprised the birthday girl with a little bit of vanilla ice cream with olive oil on it and a large candle. It was cute. I did like the place but I do not think I would go back. I am not really the clientele and prefer places that have more foods that cost less than $20 a plate. With the chicken plate, a glass of wine and 20% gratuity added on, my bill for just me came out to a bit over $50. In summary: Giving 4 out of 5. It was a really nice place but the service wasn't good and it was loud and pricey.

We went to Salt and Flour to celebrate my friend's birthday and we had an amazing time. I got the Shrimp Diavolo and it was delicious! The shrimp's were big and the pasta was savory! There was a kick to it but not too spicy. Service was amazing! My friends got the espresso martini tower and they loved it! We all enjoyed our food and drinks!

3.5 The wait staff and manager were extremely helpful and friendly, making sure we had what we needed. The service was excellent and the ambiance was alright, but the food was just good.... Not disappointing but also not life-changing or mind-blowing, especially for the price.

    Lobster Gnocchi
    Jacob D.

For a $200 date night, this was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. The lobster gnocchi was essentially garlic butter soup with gnocchi floating in it, and only two tiny pieces of lobster. It was shockingly underwhelming, especially given the price point. The service didn't help matters. Our server seemed very inexperienced, struggled to open a bottle of wine, and there wasn't even a proper chiller available. On top of that, the food took an unusually long time to arrive, and the overall pace of service was slow and disorganized. For a restaurant charging premium prices, the execution across food, service, and overall experience fell far short. There are far too many better options at this price point to justify coming back.

Peanut BROWN BUTTER RICE CRISPY TART

Walking in to this restaurant is light and airy, but we somehow were seated next to a glass wall with a view of the ice cream machine? The service was excellent and it was the highlight of the meal. Our server went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, even though there were some large groups (prom night). The food was good, but not amazing. Exception being the chocolate peanut butter dessert - loved it!

Beautiful patio, the sign says market but did not see a market. Service was delayed, but our server was very nice when he did come over. Food was nothing to write home about especially for the price. Pasta tasted like something you could make at home microwave sauce and noodles. I was really looking forward to this spot but nothing special. Espresso Martini was the best part.

Solid Italian Comfort Food Spot I am always looking for good italian. Thankfully Minneapolis has a plethora of options and Salt and Flour is one of them! Salt and Flour is a charming, small Italian spot that definitely delivers on simple, comforting, and authentic flavors. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate--a perfect size for a nice, casual date night or a relaxed dinner with friends. However space is limited and you are seated close to other patrons. They have a good selection of pastas for most diets; My GF doesnt eat pork and I am a vegetarian but they were able to accomodate us both. A couple of minor notes: Because it's a smaller place, sometimes it can feel a little loud, and I'd recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, as they fill up quickly! Also parking, this place is across Target field with limited parking. There is a ramp but of course it costs so be prepared. Definitely will be back; anxious to try their brunch!

I could tell immediately this would be a 5! Server Matthew was so cute and awesome! And the food . . Oh so many choices. Downtown Minneapolis and I highly recommend!

Early birthday celebration at Salt and Flour! Such a perfect location to share good food with friends.

The wine list is really thoughtful and leans toward smaller, lesser-known producers and unique regions. Even if you know wine well, there are still plenty of interesting picks here. Just note that by-the-glass options are limited, so it's more of a place where you end up ordering a bottle. The space is beautifully designed. Very minimal, clean, and intentional. It feels elevated without being overdone. It is definitely expensive for what it is. Both the wine and food lean high in price, but you're also paying for the atmosphere and overall experience. The menu is also a bit different in a fun way. The tinned fish selection stands out and isn't something you see often. The radish butter and bread was a highlight and absolutely worth ordering. Service is a little unconventional since you order at the counter, which feels a bit off given the pricing, but everything still runs smoothly.

We wanted a recommendation and the wine picked for us was excellent. Went with the Plavac Milos. The food is honestly incredible! The carrots were my favorite. Someday I'll get enough courage to try the tinned fish. I wish seating was a little more comfortable for the whole "drink a bottle and stay awhile" vibe. It also can get pretty loud when it's busy in the tight quarters.
