Sweet Cold Carmel - coconut water, special drink made by this adorable barista named Avery!
    Canie S.

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by the sweetest barista, Avery, and WOW--what a gem! Avery made me a custom cold drink with coconut water that was not only refreshingly delicious, but crafted with such care and attention to detail. It was pure perfection in a cup--sweet, balanced, and absolutely to die for! Avery's kindness and passion for what they do really shine through. Can't wait to come back for more magic in a cup. . My husband and I love coming to Capital Reef National Park and visit this cute town, Torrey, Utah

Drive-thru coffee shop serving coffee and non-coffee drinks and a few breakfast items. We stopped by first thing in the morning and there was already a line, but it moved efficiently. Someone came to our vehicle and wrote down our order, so when we got to the window to pay, it was ready for us. We ordered the strawberry smoothie, mixed berry smoothie, chai frappe, and two everything bagels with cream cheese. By the way, the bagels (choose between plain or everything) are toasted and are large, and you smear on the cream cheese yourself. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly! We would recommend this to anyone in the area and will happily return ourselves!

Great place to grab a coffee

We were heading home early morning and found this great place to grab a quick bite and drinks. They have a quick drive thru where I was able to order a nice hot matcha latté and my friend grabbed a large coffee. I purchased a muffin too for the road. The drinks were delicious and the muffin was yummy. Service was super friendly and beautiful views all around. When I am back here in the future, I will be stopping here again.

The cutest coffee shop with great drinks! Was staying in Torrey for a few days and this was the first stop we had to make every morning! Definitely was the best coffee we had during our visit. Tried a variety of drinks over my visit and they were all great. If you like chai and find yourself in Torrey you have to stop here, it was the whole group's favorite! The service was also great. The small town friendly coffee shop vibe that everyone loves!

This is the spot in Torrey to get your caffeine fix. We stopped by on a cold and windy morning before we headed to Capitol Reef for some hiking. Not only do they have coffee and tea options, Dark Sky also has some food on the menu. We had initially gone to the walk-up window, but one of the staff, seeing that we were kinda freezing in the blustery wind, suggested that we get back in our car and take advantage of the drive-thru window which we did--thank you for your concern! I had my usual oat milk latte plus a toasted everything bagel with butter. Other breakfast items available if you're on the go, too: oatmeal, breakfast burritos, yogurt parfaits, danishes, and cookies. Dark Sky also offers ice cream and milkshakes, which must be really popular in the hotter months. Definitely stop here if you're in need of any of these items served up by some very nice people.

Amazing little coffee shop. They have a cute little drive through as well which is convenient for anyone on the go. All the people who work here were super nice and welcoming. Great customer service for sure...you can tell how much love they put into the place. The drinks are soo good, they are strong enough and taste fresh. This was always the highlight of my mornings... Came here a few times while I was in town. Highly recommend!

This is a room that isn't advertised in 3rd party sites and has to be booked on the property website only - it's something like 50% cheaper than the rooms in the hotel. The room comes with unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate from the General Store/Cafe. We were a bit confused with how it worked since other customers have to pay for drinks, but the clerk assured us we could go whenever to get drinks (which we did multiple times!) While we checked in too late in the day to eat at the deli and left too early in the morning for Chuckwagon's famous lunch boxes, we did hit it up in the morning for breakfast pastries, which according to the cashier are all baked in house (and why we were attracted to them in the first place). We were having trouble deciding between the Kouign Amann and the Chocolate Croissant, eventually deciding on the former, but the cashier tossed us the latter for free! What great service! Chocolate Croissant (Complementary, normally $6) - This is a gorgeous looking croissant, golden brown with a drizzle of sweet chocolate on top, still soft and gooey thanks to being fresh from the oven. It's baked hard, so croissant shards fly everywhere while eating. I'd say it's baked a tad too long, so while extremely flaky, the interior isn't quite as chewy as I'd like. The lamination does look quite good from what I can tell after having some difficulty slicing through with a plastic knife. As is traditional, two chocolate batons are baked inside. (5/5) Kouign Amann w/ Cream ($6) - Again, this pastry has a really hard bake, so almost the entire thing shatters easily, except for the stellar caramelized sugar layer covering the bottom. It's hardened, sticky, and sweet with a great crunch factor. The interior is actually correct for a Kouign Amann, which is really surprising for a small-town bakery. It's not laminated nearly as much as the croissant, and instead seems to be a nice enriched brioche interior, albeit not particularly airy and soft in texture due to the bake. There's a really tangy and somewhat sweet cream cheese frosting that's piped into the center. I'd actually prefer the pastry without this extra flourish, but beggars can't be choosers! (5/5) Both pastries are more of a 4.5/5 due to the bake, but the ingredients and technique (other than bake) seem to be well thought out. We were not expecting much from these baked goods given that the Chuckwagon Deli isn't exactly a specialty bakery, but in the end we were extremely surprised by the quality. I'll definitely be revisiting if I'm ever in town again.

Guests of the motel gets free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from the general store which is open early til late, 10pm I believe. We ate at the deli for breakfast. I was looking forward to the quiche based on what I saw on the Yelp pictures but I guess the menu has changed. They only offer breakfast sandwiches now but it's made to order so we got to choose type of eggs and proteins. It did take a bit a time for them to make it so factor that in when planning your visit. The sandwiches were ~$12 each but were pretty filling so perfect for another day of hiking.

It's located in Torrey- you can spot the gravel parking lot with lots of cars in front. In fact we actually didn't see the restaurant because there were 2 rows of cars parked in front-a good sign! The menu was varied- from pizza ( more about that later), steak, salads, sandwiches, trout, mexican food. Good selection of alcoholic drinks, beer and soft drinks and even ice cream floats. The meals came with a choice of salad or soup and choice of baked or mashed potato, fries or vegetables. I ordered the steak sandwich which was strips of steak with grilled vegetables -onions and peppers, cheese and a spread of guacamole. It was served on crusty ciabatta bread. I asked for no added salt on the steak and they graciously accommodated me. It was nicely seasoned and didn't need the extra salt. The meat was nice and tender. Hubby ordered the starter dish taco (2) and it had a large piece of battered fried fish. It was crispy and moist. It could be an entree! I saw other diners order the burger and it was thick and large. Another party ordered the large pizza- let me tell you it was huge-almost big as a lazy susan. It could easily feed four or more. And the price was so reasonable- $23 for the premium pizza and $22 for the others. Looking around, all the meals that came out were generously portioned. No wonder the place was full! In spite of the steady flow of customers, the staff was very friendly and helpful and came by to refill waters. We didn't have to wait too long for the food in spite of the busyness. For those wanting a good meal after a day in the park, come here!

The prices were fair considering the limited options in the area and the type of meat. The restaurant is connected to an inn and it is decorated in an old-timey western style, which I liked.
