This company picked up when I called and sent somebody to my home relatively soon after our call. This was already A+ behavior in my book. The technician who was sent to my home, Muhammad, was just excellent. It turns out that my dryer was too far gone for repair, but Muhammad took the time to carefully examine the whole thing to figure out what could be done. He was meticulous and extremely committed to helping me and his ultimate advice -- that I would end up spending more money repairing the dryer than I would buying a new one -- was super helpful. Having had this positive experience, I am looking forward to calling Superior Appliance Services whenever I need help with my appliances! read more

I called Superior Appliance Services after my oven igniter broke. This was on a Sunday and they were able to come in on Monday! The fix was really easy and they called me about 20 minutes before they arrived. This was basically the only place that could do what I needed them to do in a timely and efficient manner. Had a guy come out and check my refrigerator for not cooling properly. He barely did anything and told me it had a major leak . So I asked how can he be sure that's the problem he stated that his electrical meter tells him the amps are off on the compressor and that's all he really needs to know. We'll apart from that he wasn't really professional walking in my house with wet shoes. Well he told me that LG should still be under warranty and charged me $60 for a diagnostic fee. Well I call LG directly and they sent a technician out the very next day . The guy was professional and wore shoe covers explained everything to me and diagnosed a bad compressor that was not pumping. Well he replaced the compressor same day and my refrigerator is up and working properly and for no charge to me under warranty. So basically I was charged $60 for a wrong diagnostic and to tell me my refrigerator was under warranty. read more

I have a house full of kids and a partner who is away for an extended time. Needless to say we are a very busy household! I called another supposedly reputable repair company who had been recommended to me. They scheduled me 4 days out and then was a no show. Feeling very overwhelmed I called Superior Appliance late evening after the no show from the other company, expecting to just leave a message. I called yesterday to fix the leaking gas in my kitchen, when I called I told the customer service person what needed to be done and the Fortisbc technician already came to located the exact place where was leaking. I asked the customer service if they were and certified to do the repair he said yes. but today one guy showed up and told me that he was not qualified to do the job and he was here for 10 minutes did nothing but force us to pay him $117 right away otherwise he would not leave! We called for repair and Muhammed came right away. He told us that the dishwasher needed a new motor, but it wasn't worth buying one, and that the washing machine needed a new drain pump. We paid $95 for the initial visit and he said he'd call back after the pump arrived. This was around the holidays, so I was fine with it taking awhile. Three weeks later, with no call, I called back. He said he would need us to text him the receipt for $95 so he would have the information for his records. (The receipt was in triplicate, so it wasn't clear why he didn't have this information.) He said once we'd done that, he'd call back and set up a follow up appointment. He never called back. At this point, I was sick of the whole thing and gave up. read more

First it was the control panel on the oven. Fine. Ordered it and Superior Appliance came back to install. No, it's not the control panel, it's the temperature sensor. But the previous repairman said it wasn't the temperature sensor. But this 2nd repairman said it is. So, after several hundred dollars, why am I paying for you to incorrectly diagnose the oven? Apparently Superior Appliances don't keep records on who did what, so each repair man is starting from scratch and therefore, will tell you something different. read more

He charged me nearly $100 just for the first visit, and called and texted multiple times in a very short time span to be paid via venmo for his half hour visit. He then told me he'd need to look into the parts, and finally told me it was simply impossible to get the necessary dryer part or to do anything about it. I apologize for reviewing this company so late. I contacted this company because of the good ratings, but when the technician, and I use that term loosely, showed up, he appeared to have an attitude. He was to look at my stovetop and my Maytag washer. He told me that he would order the part for the stove top, but the Maytag should be replaced. He said he'd order the part for the stove, pulled out his phone, and took my credit card for the price of the visit. Told me that would be deducted from the price of the final repair. I called for dishwasher service. They have a $75 fee for diagnosis and estimate, which seems reasonable. The problem was they wanted the fee before they even gave me a diagnosis and estimate of cost/time for the repair. What the heck? I would've hired them to do the repair almost surely, but I am paying for the estimate and ETA for the repair. Anyone can come out and charge $75 then say they can't fix it. Why would they withhold an estimate until I pay? Especially since if I accept their estimate, I no longer owe the $75 fee as it is refunded! What is so secret/important about the estimate? In the appliance repair world, it rarely makes sense to repair your appliance. I was trying to save a few bucks and hassle by doing a repair instead of just replacing the whole thing. But all the good appliance repair people have moved onto other professions and all that is left is the crappy ones, like these guys. read more

Requested service to repair water leaking in freezer as well as water filter housing unit issue. Repairman came out fixed leak but but did not address water filter issue. The repairman stated that he would provide me an estimate for the filter unit replacement in couple of days and its been over two weeks and no one has called back with an update. In addition, I offered the model number to the refrigerator so that they would be prepared to make all repairs onsite at the same time and they stated it wasn't necessary. read more

I gave 3 stars because they were very quick in getting me an appointment and the diagnostic cost and repair price point was fair. Additionally, my repair tech was really kind and accommodating to my schedule. That being said, I had to call multiple times regarding the same repair and my dishwasher still doesn't work properly. UPDATE: IT GETS WORSE!!!! As soon as I posted this one star review, the company called me to try to bribe me to take it down. They didn't care at all about the fridge still leaking. They said they would refund $177 if I agreed to take down this review. I told them I would update the review but not take it down. The guy on the phone tried to pick a fight with me to bully me into taking down the review. I just checked my credit card and there still is no refund on it. If you want your appliances fixed and honest business practices, you'll have to look elsewhere. And I just tried to file a Better Business Bureau complaint but it turns out they're not registered with the BBB as Superior Appliance Services, they're registered as Atlas Appliance Services, Inc. Funny when you search for reviews of Atlas Appliance Services, Inc. they're all terrible. Think maybe the company changed their name because they were getting too many bad reviews to bribe everyone to take them down? read more

The technician came on Monday changed the gas on the refrigerator which didn't fix it. Then said that it is the fan and he will bring one on Wednesday. we paid $200. Never appeared on Wednesday. I called and he said Thursday. Never appeared on Thursday. I called the office and again and again they say that they will tell the manager and call me back but don't. The worst part is not that the technician just run away but that the company is not taking responsibility. They are not answering the phone for days and when they do they say we will call you back. I called Superior Appliance Service at 6:43 PM because my nine year old Whirlpool oven stopped heating. The burners on the top worked fine, but the oven would not bake or broil. I explained the problem to Superior who asked me to send them a picture of the Whirlpool sticker with the model number. I was excited when Superior said they could be here the next day between 10:00AM to 2:00 PM. I asked about the service call fee which was $50 and would be applied towards the repair. So, the next day I thought Superior would call to confirm my appointment but they did not. So, I called them around 11:15AM to ask/verify I was on the schedule. Superior said, "Yes and consider me calling them my confirmation." I received a call from Superior at 12:40 PM, saying the technician is approx. 30 mins out. I decided to complete my online research and my self-diagnose was possibly the igniter was out. The gas was working, and I could hear the igniter clicking but not catching. So I went online where I saw a replacement igniter would were around $30 ($28.36 to be exact on Amazon) I was curious as to what Superior would charge assuming, they found the igniter as the problem. Muhammad the technician arrived at 1:15 PM. He tested the oven with same results I experienced. He the back panel and ran several cycles of testing but the oven never ignited. After exposing the circuit boards and tested the circuits for around 30 mins Muhammad informed me the problem was not the igniter. After connecting everything, and trying again the oven was working. Muhammad, said it appears the system seemed to reset after being unplugged and some of the circuit being disconnected and reconnected...no new parts needed. We ran multiple test cycles successfully. Muhammad said, if the problem reoccurs, he would recheck the electronics but suggested the controller or command board could need replacing if this becomes a recurring problem. Especially if the oven works after being unplugged. In the end, my bill seemed fair adding the cost of the service fee and electronic component diagnostic. I would recommend Superior Appliance and will use them in the future. read more

I've meant to review Superior Appliances for a while, and forgot! Called them a few months ago after finding them here when my freezer broke suddenly. I have a home-based bakery and it broke at a time when I couldn't afford down time. They came out same day, and had a new part and everything fixed two days later - which was super fast! Yesterday, my dryer broke. I called them again at about 9 am. We booked Superior Appliance Services to come by to check out our dryer that had stopped working. At the tail end of the 4 hour wait window we were given, I received a call that the serviceman was here.....aaaaand he was not (went to the wrong quadrant in DC, whoops!). Our friendly technician (not Ben, who is raved about here) finally arrived (absolutely reeking of cigarettes ughhh) and took a look at our dryer. This is a mixed review because we hired Superior to diagnose the problem with our dryer, and they did, accurately, and for $50 (which is a fair price based on other businesses we consulted). So that is good. However, when asked the price for fixing it (a fried motherboard), the technician stated that it would be difficult because "those parts are hard to get" (for a 6 year old LG dryer?!) and maybe the following week they could do it. He promised a call in a day or two with a quote. Two days later, we received the quote --- $489 for parts and labor. Now, in the meantime, my enterprising husband decided to see just how hard these parts are to find. I'm not kidding - within 5 minutes of searching, he found the correct parts on Sears.com and ordered it. $129. He then watched a few videos on how to do the replacement and did it himself in under 45 minutes. Now, I'm not suggesting that everyone go and fix their own appliances - this just happened to be a fairly straightforward and easy fix. But it is upsetting that the quote we received worked out to be about $350 for the labor once the cost for parts is subtracted, for a simple job that took my inexperienced husband under an hour to complete, and probably would take an experienced technician closer to 1/2 hour! That is quite a hefty price tag. We probably won't be calling Superior Appliance again. read more

My fridge stopped working and I was dreading the entire process of finding someone to look at it, scheduling the visit and then the nightmare that I assumed the repair visit would be. I couldn't have been more wrong. I called Superior Appliance Service on a Thursday morning and they had availability that day or the next. I chose the next day where I was given a four hour window. Around an hour into that window I received a call that Ben would be at my place in 15 minutes. He was prompt, super friendly and within 5-7 minutes knew what was wrong with the fridge. He had the needed part on the truck and in another few minutes the entire repair was over. The fridge has been working great ever since. These guys are very responsive, honest, knowledgeable, and reliable. I have used them to repair our washing machine twice (different issues). They answer the call immediately and arrive within a couple hours. With two successful experiences, they are now my default appliance repair company. This is a terrible company. Horrible customer service and incompetent work. First, they scheduled a repair and never showed up. They kept my tenants waiting at the apartment all day. After that, I was planning to cancel their service, but to my surprise, they randomly showed up the following day without giving me any advance notice. At that point, I needed the repair done and assumed they would automatically charge me for the service call any ways so I went ahead with the garbage disposal repair. The following week, the dishwasher wasn't working. Based on my horrible experience with Superior Appliance I used another company. They discovered that when Superior Appliance installed the new garbage disposal, they didn't remove the "knock-out" plug to the dishwasher which was causing water to back-up. So I had to spend another $130 for this other company to come and fix their incompetent mistake. It was a simple fix but demonstrates Superior's poor technical skill. Extremely disappointed and would like to warn others to NOT use this company. read more

My refrigerator suffered a sudden death on Saturday. It just stopped freezing/cooling, and I awoke on Sunday morning to a melted mess of ice cream and chicken juice and popsicle goo all over my kitchen floor. Awesome. I found Superior Alliance on Yelp, and hey! they returned my call within an hour (on a Sunday!), telling me they could come as soon as Monday morning. I texted him my address and the make of my fridge, and he texted right back saying he would call me when he was 20 minutes away. At 9:40am today, he called. At 10am, he was here. At 10:03, he diagnosed the fridge with a dead compressor. At 10:10am, he replaced the compressor. At 10:15am, I was signing a check for for the compressor replacement, instead of running to Sears to buy some random new $1500 refrigerator. I was assured that if anything happened in the next 90 days, he would come back to reassess and fix it at no charge. That was the most impressively productive 25 minutes I have ever experienced with any contractor who has worked in my home. read more

My fridge (Frigidaire Gallery series) had stopped cooling and based on the reviews I called Superior Appliance Services. They were able to give me an appointment the next day (5-7PM). The following day the technician (can't remember his name) called me at 5PM saying he'll be there in 30 minutes. I couldn't make it there on time so I asked him if he could delay it a little bit. He agreed to move it to 6PM, which was cool of him to do. When I got home he was in the hallway waiting outside my apartment. I showed him the fridge and he got to work right away. He said it needed freon and that he would add it. If it worked, it would cost $224. If it didn't work, it would cost $50 for his trip. After spending 30 minutes behind the fridge he told me it was working, but that it would take up to 12 hours for the fridge to cool. He gave me the service ticket and I paid him - they take credit card. The technician is from Tunisia and since I was going there we talked a bit about the country. Nice guy. I checked the next day and the fridge was working! The company provides a 30-day warranty. I will call them for other appliance repairs. read more
