The order process of making your order inside and bringing your order to the table is efficient and works well. No waiting for a check when you're done. Food is good, I enjoyed the all beef bratwurst. The big plus is they have a great beer selection on tap. Again, for me enjoying a great beer outside on a nice day is always extra special. We originally weren't sure if this was a German or a Mediterranean restaurant because there were two different names on the outside of the restaurant. The Biergarten tables and big Bavarian flags outside drew us in to check it out. It turns out that they are a blend of cultures since the food is mostly German but many of the desserts were Mediterranean. We only had room for the beer and German food on this visit, but we will definitely go back when we're in the area to try more next time! The veal was a bit thick (not pounded/flattened like the traditional version) but it was still very tender and tasty--especially with the jaeger-style mushroom sauce on top! The spätzle's texture and flavor was more like American Mac & Cheese , but again, the flavor was good--especially if you're a fan of melted cheese! I came her for the first time over the summer. This place is very popular in the evenings. We came during early afternoon on the weekend. The only seating is outdoor, and the food is ordered inside. They have their liter and half a liter beer boots. Bring and appetite be ready to try some German beers you can't pronounce the names to. Food options are very tasty and generous. Lol not really an authentic German place but good enough. It shares half a place with the Greek place. We ordered a large beer, schnitzel burger, and bratwurst. Both came with side of sauerkraut, French fries, ketchup. The schnitzel burger was okay, a little bland. The beef bratwurst was tiny and dry! Costco has a better hot dog by a long shot. It tasted more like a tiny dry hot dog than a German bratwurst. I've had this at other biergartens and I believe they are pork and typically more juicy. I really enjoyed the beers here and in general the outdoor set up and atmosphere. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and it was so lovely to see people out drinking sunny day beers and having food together but apart. They were also playing fun throwback rock music. Otherwise, the ​same food, decor​, order at the counter set-up, etc. I wanted to try the Das Bierhauz menu, so I got the beef sausage and pretzel. I'd pass on the kinda dry pretzels. The beef sausage wasn't bad inside a toasted warm roll. The small pleasant outdoor seating would be the reason to come here, less so for the food. It's a chill place to hang, especially at night, since they're open until 9pm while many other restaurants​ in Silicon Valley are closing earlier. Das Bierhauz in old town Mountain View is a wonderful place to enjoy beers and food in a beer garden overlooking the Main Street and historic train station. The customer service is excellent and my significant other was static to see his favorite beers on tap and beers that are often served at Oktoberfest in Germany. I enjoyed a lagger sampler, that was delicious with generous pours. My kiddo loved the kids' chicken nuggets and the freshly baked pretzel that we shared. DB has a good permanent space outside to eat compared to many of the other restaurants on Castro which have makeshift COVID spaces. They offer a great selection of beer (about 20 on tap plus bottles) and wine. I liked the Kolsch. We both got burgers, one medium well and the other medium rare, both came out medium well. The portion of fries was abundant, so much so we required additional ketchup. The burgers were the most average of average. Inside with the tables filled, it was a tight space - like twist or turn to walk between tables. There were people hawking to see who was going to finish next and then sort of eye and hover. Since we were the only ones eating entrees, we received our food fairly quickly. There was a reason for it.... ***Pretzel- bread like with soft center. It worked but I was wondered where they are buying those? ***Veal brawt with f.f and kraut. - good sausage highly doubt home made, below mediocre shoestring f.f. from the freezer and the kraut wasn't delicious. Value here didn't exist. *Veal schnitzel - patty was def from a bag in the freezer and thrown in the deep fryer. It was partially burned and hard crispy. Lots of mushrooms in the sort of brown sauce. Sauce was bland. The spaetzle wasn't fresh and reminded me of a store bought, on the shelf, add the water, pour in the cheese packet, mac n cheese. Wouldn't do it again. *A coke in a can. It was all self serve and no cups or ice was out. Maybe we should have asked. ****A liter of beer. That was the best thing all night. And speaking of beer, there wasn't anything that's not a standard now a days. With a German flag in front, I was hoping for a keg of something regional. No such luck. There was a bunch of greek / med food on the menu. Marin Sun Farms is a good source for meat, so maybe a burger? One needs to order food inside and it would be brought to your table, I would recommend finding a seating first and then go to order. The outdoors was full around 7 pm. They have a good selection of beers, food not that much. Food menu contains some appetizers (hummus, fries, pretzel), pitas, burgers and some plates. There was another beer garden here called Bierhaus previously and I really liked that but Mountain View seems to have changed.
