Food is by far the best selling point for this gem of a restaurant. But everything else is just icing on the cake! We were in yesterday (second time) and had our minds blown by something as "basic" as tacos. The thai tea milkshake drink is probably the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. We are so excited to come back and try all the amazing cocktails we saw listed, and the ice cream trailer! Were new to the neighborhood and can't wait to join the wine of the month club. Also the grab and go options for unique beers, wines, sakes, etc will be so fun for gatherings at our house (after dinner at dashi) with friends. I am loving my food experience at Dashi. The restaurant was very casual with great food and they have lots of drink/craft can beer options. We ordered sticky pork buns, duck ramen, tacos, and beef salad. I really enjoy the deep fried whole egg in my ramen noodle and the broth. I don't give many negative reviews but this was mainly due to two people on staff. It pains me to give a negative review a week later (gave myself time to think how I wanted to write this) and I am still bothered when I know I want to be fair about my review. First time here I feel a lot of Park Circle vibes and the menu looked interesting. Walked in and there was no direction of seat yourself or wait to be seated. Saw a bar across from us and one to the right so we sat at the table next to the bar to the right. Had a conversation with family for almost 10 minutes when we realized no one has even come to the table let alone asked us for our beverage order. I see a lady speak to the bartender with the blue hair and ask if we had been helped. He said no but they'll figure it out and both went along with their business. At this point I was already irritated that we had not been helped yet. So I get up and walk to the front door and realize the other "bar" was the food bar that you order at. So we ordered and got a number at the table for them to deliver the food. The ladies at the food bar were amazing. Pad Thai was delicious. The breakfast burrito looked amazing and I had the breakfast taco sans any protein since I was still irritated and upset mad that the bartender and lady didn't let us know that since we have no order number on our table that we needed to order at the food counter instead of ignoring us the way they did. read more

I was hesitant to try this. The name of the restaurant turned me off a bit and I really don't like trying new things and going out of my comfort zone with food. Anywayyyy, I was recommended by my coworker to try the chicken burrito. I adapted it to be without peppers and thai slaw and OOOOOMMMMGGG, it is lifechanging. I am OFFICIALLY OBSESSED. I came in recently with a friend, and this will mark the second and last time I ever come here. The food was pretty darn good this time, but the service was unacceptable. My friend who brought me loves this place, so to make sure she can continue coming here without it being awkward for her, I'm going to keep her involvement vague, and speak only about my experiences. Know that the lack of customer service handling her food issue appalled me. That is the biggest reason for my disappointment. Then, taking and not replacing our water while we were walking around before our food arrived, and blocking the way out of the bathroom without realizing I simply needed through because 4 employees were standing around and blocking the path.... I will never ever come back here, and I'm really disappointed that my choice to give this place a second chance was worse than my first impression. We tried the stir fry and three tacos. I got the veggie stir fry. It had great flavor, I just wish it had a bit more veggies. The tacos also had good flavor but the chicken was a little chewy and the chorizo was different than what I expected. Not saying it was right or wrong, but the chorizo had the texture (maybe a little thicker) and taste of good pepperoni. However, last night's Gaucho Steak Plate, a meal I've had roughly seven times, was disappointing. The Soccarat side dish was awesome as always. But the steak was false advertising. The meat was cooked properly and the grilled bread was great, but the meat wasn't seasoned like before and no Chimichurri sauce. The sauce was some bland brown liquid. What went wrong? We went to Dashi on April 30,2024 for my husband's birthday. The bao buns with pork belly were my absolute favorite! My husband is a vegan and they had several options. He ordered Patatas Bravas with no cheese or hollandaise to make it vegan and he ordered the pad Thai with tofu and no fish sauce or egg, also vegan. The food was all delicious. It does sort of look like a hole in the wall, but it is just a cute little place. Bright colors and authentic vibes. We also played Soundcheck that night, which was so fun. There isn't a whole lot to say about the service because it is a service counter that you order from and then they just deliver to your table and if you get more beverages, you just go up and order them and they deliver it to your table. We ordered in for our Big Night in this week. The Dashi has our food ready and delivered to our home within 30 mins of ordering. Pictured are 2 chicken buns, 1 pork belly bun, 3 pork belly tacos, and too many of the delicious Thai wings to count. We definitely ordered more than we needed; we always do that! Everything we ordered was delicious. The buns are steamed very well. The proteins on the tacos were seasoned well and very crispy for a nice texture. Honestly my favorite part of the buns and tacos are the pickled veggies that give a sweet and crunchy addition that is much needed.
