Took my 3 kids here, youngest at 2. Youngest had to have her diaper changed. I won't go into detail here but it wasn't good. The family bathroom was 'closed for repair' and the changing table in the men's room was broken. Had quite the time trying to change a kid in that situation while standing up. Customers were coming in the bathroom and complaining about how bad it smelled. Quite humiliating. Those types of things need to be working at a family place. I'm a huge DnB fan. I've been to most locations in the DMV. Nice location with plenty of parking BUT this location is my least favorite now. Its smaller than other locations!!! Smaller than the old White Flint location!! Customer Service desk employees could use a refresher course. I get the majority are young adults but step it up and minimize the chit chat for when theres down time. Games are expensive so make sure you come here with coupon or some deal. Most games are like 8.8 a pop and when you lose a game and want to continue it adds up I'm huge gamer and the choices here are limited. I like action games and they are limited. Too much Chuck E Cheese type games. No pool tables or bowling like AA Mills. Another bummer is that after 9pm there kids running around like a bunch of banshees. No parents around to supervise them. Came here on 11/1 with a. Large group (24 ppl). Everyone staggered their arrival over about 20-30 minutes so it wasn't a mass onslaught to our server. Crystal was our server .. she was awful. I've worked service and understand a large group can be daunting. She didn't even try. She spent most of her time in the corner of the restaurant complaining to her manager about something g (I assume the large party). We were not demanding. A round of drinks, some food .. and then trying to get another round from her was impossible. I got my food and ate it before I could get her to bring me a new beer. I gave up and went to the bar (that staff was fantastic). That definitely pissed off Crystal who then tried to claim I ordered two beers from her ... you gotta take an order to actually have that happen. This is my first visit to this location and my first visit to any D & B in over a year. My experience tonight will have me returning real soon. I'm in the middle of doing no-carbs so my food is going to not hit any of their more indulgent food. The table next to us has the pretzel hot dogs and OH MY they looked amazing. I had the chicken buffalo chicken wings. They were the best wings I've had in a long, long time. Crisp on the outside - no breading - delicious, but mild sauce - perfect sized. The wings are completely addictive. IMPORTANT: Currently have an all-you-can eat and play special on Sunday, Monday and Thursday for $20. I also ordered the Super Stack Burger. Mine is very basic due to the no-carbs. The burgers have a great grilled taste and is full of flavor. The garlic aioli was a great compliment. The service was good. Most importantly, the restaurant area was quite quiet enough not to be blasted by the game room fun. The bar/restaurant area is available for those looking for that louder casino-like atmosphere. I love Dave and Buster's when it was at White Flint. I was really excited for the one at Rio to open. If you want to come here to play games and hang out, grab a beer to watch a game/fight, then this is a great place. We got food here for the first time and boy was it bad. I should've listened to my friends when they said "don't eat there". The chicken pasta was dry, tasted very rubbery, like microwaved dinner. The steak was over cooked when I said "medium rare". And the service was tremendous slow and horrible! Games are limited; not many selections, but like I said, if you just want a place to hang out then yeah. Also the drinks here are quite expensive. I took my kids there Friday afternoon in RIO and the environment was just ok not too great. Place is clean and staff were friendly with great Manager on duty, but some games lasted very quickly. Sometimes the place makes the experience and sometimes it's on you to make the experience what it is. After leaving a company picnic early on a Friday, I found myself "available" at 2:30 in the afternoon and not ready to go home just yet. It was then that I remembered the new Dave & Busters. Perfect! When I arrived, there were three people at the front desk. All of which were eager to help. I hadn't been to D&B in years so I had multiple game cards I had accumulated and I wondered if they had any money on them and if they could be consolidated. One person began checking the balance and another one offered to help her colleague. Awesome service! I walked in with like four or five cards and I left with one single (and prettier) card. I was feeling lucky. Before getting the fun started, I checked out the premises. All of my favorite games were there including basketball and Deal or No Deal, so I barely noticed that the place was smaller and that there were no bowling or pool tables. It didn't bother me a bit because I had found my old favorites and made some new ones! When I saw the bar off in the distance, I was like "Yup, this is for me." On a Friday afternoon, there were no waits for any of the games I played and there was no one waiting for me to finish any games. I love the Super Shot basketball game (and I don't know the sports) but somehow I find it fun and can play over and over until I tire myself out. At other locations, this has been a problem for people waiting to play. These people would inform me that they had children. Since there are like 5 or 6 basketball lanes, I wondered why they chose to stand in line behind me, but whatever, it's above me now. One father got really upset and stood directly behind me, which limited my range of motion, so I had to stop playing at another location. Let me tell you that this was not a problem at this location. I had all 5 or 6 lanes to myself if I wanted. And even at the busiest, there was still at least one lane open. I got super sweaty, but had a ball--literally! I took a chance on some new games and won 500 tickets on one of the spin the wheel varieties. I think it was Big Bass Wheel. I wondered why I never win the lottery or slots so easily. I played Deal or no Deal and wondered why I used to love it so much. I played Skee-Ball and a game where you throw bean bags into specific holes. I then fell in love with this game where you throw balls through lit squares to get points. I didn't exactly get the concept at first, but somebody's child came over and not only told me what to do but also jumped in and helped me win a ton of tickets. I kept the child with me for a few rounds. I assumed his parents would holler when they were ready. They were probably happy for a break and happy that someone else was paying for their child to have some fun. I ended my visit at the bar. Again, it wasn't busy. I had some pretty decent drinks. One was a Long Island Peach Tea and the other was a Dangerous Waters. The drinks tasted great, but I felt nothing. Maybe I'm a pro at drinking, but I was able to walk out of the place and down the steps without stumbling once. I think D&B can do better. Overall, I had a great time with myself. This place will always be my favorite. Late night happy hour from 10pm-close and they have cheap drinks and cheap apps for yourself or to share. Wednesday and Thursday are prob the best time to go bc half off games, which is a bang for your buck. And Thursday are unlimited arcade games if you purchase a meal it'll prob be a total of $20. Finally, a Dave and Buster's is open closer to where I live! I went on Monday morning on their opening day on 7/1 to check it out before work. There are a couple of garages nearby the area for parking, including the Movie Theater parking lot connected to the Dave and Buster's and the Nando's parking lot. If you don't mind parallel parking or walking a bit more, there are usually open spaces alongside Washingtonian BLVD. The Dave and Buster's is in the space of the old Sport and Health at Rio. Surprisingly, the space is very large and on par with other Dave and Buster's locations, they have something for everyone here. They have 2 traditional skee ball games (2.9 points to play, one of the cheapest games), Mario Kart, 1 pump it up machine (no DDR or other dance/rhythm games), Basketball Connect 4, and a plethora of other traditional D&B games (Price is Right, Hit the Hammer, Coin push game, etc.) and a VR experience which is a new thing! David the server was very helpful and knowledgeable, kudos to him! I tried to use their self serve Kiosk to add more points to my play card, but I guess that it wasn't working or there was some sort of glitch. They should look further into this so it can be fixed. There aren't many trash cans on the game floor, the only ones that I saw were in the ticket rewards room nearby the counter and in the bathroom, this is a new place, so to keep it clean, it would be helpful to have some more trash cans around so people wouldn't have to think about littering or throwing their trash tucked behind any game machines or anything. read more

This is definitely a fun place to be. Came out on a UFC fight night and all the tvs were playing the pay-per-view which was really convinient. Me and some friends got a table and there was no cover to sit and watch, granted you had to keep ordering things if you wanted to keep the table. The food was pretty mediocre - the cheese curds were pretty lukewarm and the three dip chips appetizer was nothing special, which is what I'm docking a star for. Service was attentive though, which was nice for getting our orders in. Placement of tvs made it easy to watch the fights as well. The arcade part itself was a blast. My first experience for this location was the soft opening last week. They've done a great job with using the space with what they have. It goes pretty deep. I spent most of the time at the bar because the drinks are so good but be careful they will creep up on you. The sour apple one was tasty but sour. Next my favorite drink was the Caribbean patron Punch drink. Still fruity enough for you ladies and the patron was a great touch for us fellas. It goes down smooth. Jazelle and Bianca did a great job serving us and we look forward to coming back when they are there. We have always found this to be a great place with a really nice variety of games and food. Tonight was the first time we visited on a weekend night rather than a weekday lunch when our kids are out of school. I was shocked by the number of games that were non-operational or seemed to be malfunctioning in some way. Unfortunately in some cases the only way you realized there was an issue was after not receiving the correct amount of tickets or after losing playing points (that are not cheap!) without the game actually starting. There was one floor attendant walking around but we quickly realized it was easier to eat the loss than deal with tracking him down for help. Service was 5 stars. We ate dinner after playing games and our server rocked. ALL of the staff was friendly and gave prompt service. We have never experienced at any other D&B multiple game repair staff floating around, ready to service any machine. This review is specifically for the bar. This could have definitely been a much better experience. Was here with my niece and nephew and after an hour or so of playing the games they got hungry. We sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. It took a waitress over 15 minutes to come to us. I could see them from across the bar, chatting it up together, and I kept looking their way. She was somewhat pleasant when she came by, but there was still some attitude that felt rude. I didn't want to push it because I was there with my niece and nephew and didn't want to make a scene, but their behavior and lack of attention was unprofessional throughout the whole meal. Oh, and there was only ONE other table seated with people at the time. The food is fine for bar food - pretzels, chicken strips, you know the deal - the kids enjoyed the food well enough. I am only rating this as a 3 out of 5 as I set my expectations to be as good if not better than the original Houston D&B location; although, the service was good and prompt. Ambiance vibe of place is some kind of new art deco for the bar and food serving area which were not that comfortable. No pool tables! The game room was limited with no real selection of vintage arcade for the adults or any modern pinball. I would estimate this location has half the games as the old D&B if that. Ticket games were limited and tickets won are automatically credited to your account whereas we used to pool our tickets to one card for max prize value. After 20 minutes of waiting with my card in hand to order one single shot for last call, we, along with multiple other guests were denied and this was well before actual closing time. There were 3 bartenders initially, and 2 walked away right after announcing last call, and left one bartender to handle the remaining crowd. My partner and I usually give generous tips but the service here has taken a fall. The bar staff is amazing but the table staff just... hate the job. Don't get me wrong, I've worked in the food industry but even if you covered the basics, you could still make a good impression. Our waitress, Elena C was unpleasant. Maybe it was the end of her shift, maybe we came in too late, maybe she had a bad day, but after reading the other reviews I'm starting to think maybe management doesn't give proper training. Bar is fine and always pack so with food in our mind we sit down at dining area and our nightmare began. A roll of dirty tables when we walked in. Alright it was Sat night maybe they were busy. Waited for 15mins for our menu, we were in no rush. We ordered and waited another 20mins, and our water from Himalayan has finally arrived. No big deal, we were chilling. Drinks and food finally arrived after close to half an hour since we ordered. We were still happy to get our food and paid without any complaints. The kick came after 3 days when I checked my credit card, that server gave himself a big fat 50% tips instead of the 20% I gave. I m drunk but not that drunk. The server has 3 table to serve, and that one hour we were there I have seen him 3 times and we wanted to order more but our server didn't even show up till he came with our check. Omgggg the best dave and busters I ever been to ! Rio lake front is so cute the perfect date night. We got there at 6 and happy hour was til 7pm. I paid for Don q and pineapple mixed drinks only 3$ we stayed for 7 hours and I didn't get to play every game. I had a blast !!!! We went on a Wednesday because we took vacation days. All the games worked. I really enjoyed the tap to play using the card. The vr ride is 6$ per person per game and they were insanely fun !!!! The staff was so friendly! The bartenders were very nice as well and i enjoyed conversation about which drink and food they recommended. I highly recommend. I was quite excited for this new Dave and Buster's as it'll be the closest one to where I live, but so far, there's a lot of mishaps. Came here about...maybe 3 times? Once for the VIP yelp event, then twice for some friends' birthdays. For starters, at another yelp event, a representative was there advertising that people can earn $40 worth of tickets by just paying $20. We got that coupon, but in reality, you're getting $20 worth of tickets first, then another $20 worth, which apparently is not the same amount as $40 worth of tickets. (Only found that out after I paid for it at the counter.) Then, another time, I got an email saying I can simply redeem $10 worth of tickets using the email code without any purchase necessary. So I went up to the counter, but they almost charged me $10 for $20 worth of tickets and had to cancel the transaction, but then my code apparently didn't work since the manager came and asked if I already used it. They said then they did add the $10 worth of tickets for free, but in reality they didn't and I never got that extra $10 worth of tickets. I asked about it again, but they said they did, but lol i know how many tickets I got last time, and it was the exact same amount, so it's quite unfortunate. I didn't want to argue about it after asking once since I didn't pay anything for the $10 worth, but I would say overall, it's just some poorly unethical service. On top of that, if you come at like 3:55pm before their 4-7pm happy hour, be sure to not order your drink even one minute before 4pm; they will charge you the normal price! Luckily, their manager allowed my check to have the happy hour (half off) price for a cocktail, since the rest of my order charged the food at the happy hour price, which was probably one nice really nice thing they did (we ate until 5:15pm-ish). Both the food and the drink did take a while to come out though, even though it didn't seem very busy. The bartender literally put my cup in front of me and filled it with the ice cubes then left for a good 15 minutes doing whatever else loll. Then eventually came back to finish my drink. And on top of that, the food was very mediocre as well. I remember I enjoyed my drink and food at the silver spring one much more, so I was a bit disappointed how slightly watered down my drink was (one of the new red bull vodka drinks, I think it was maker's mark), and I would not recommend the asian wonton chicken nachos (though it was only $5 for HH). Lastly, just like others have mentioned, this Dave and Busters is a lot smaller than the silver spring one, arundel mills one, and the old white flint one. Since it's smaller, there's not as many game options compared to the other ones. Additionally, like others also mentioned, the game's are quite expensive; I would say it might be hard to earn a lot of points from the amount of tickets you spend in order to get some at least decent prizes they offer in the store. Overall, I would say people would come here as it's one of the more fun things to do, outside of simply eating and drinking all the time around Rockville/Gaithersburg. If you don't mind how much you are spending, I'm sure you will enjoy your time here. I know I personally will still come once in a while just for friends if they really want to come badly, but idk if I would personally come out of my way to this particular Dave and Busters, knowing how the service is and how pricey it is. read more

Came here with friends and family to have a great time . With in a hour after eating and playing my best friend went into labor at 37 weeks. We all thought that she was ache from standing up for a long time because the line was to long.. Then her water broke. My husband asked for employers who worked there. No one helped, the employers just stood there, AS well as the manager who was drinking at the bar with another employer who worked there. Finally, a sweet lady (turns out to be best friend's cousin) who was watching us helped us when we needed help, and got the situation under control while the paramentic's were helping my best friend. With how large, shiny and new this D&B is, I guess I can (finally) let go of my grudge of them closing down the White Flint location LOL. JK, but happy that they opened a location closer to where I live. Stopped by on opening day (and had attended the VIP event the week before) and must first point out how outstanding the service is. Usually there are some hiccups when businesses first open, but here you can tell how well-trained the staff is and how they're equally excited for the open. You finish your drink and they are there ready for you to order the second one. Bravo! I don't visit arcades often, so I was impressed by the games and how large/life-size they are. They've definitely stepped up their selection since I've last gone to a D&B. My only gripe is how many points things cost... at least 6 points... which seems "expensive" to me. Overall, this D&B will make for a solid happy hour location and its summer-time opening is perfect. Excited to go back and play other games I didn't get to. read more

This is a brand new location at the Rio. The atmosphere was nice and plenty to do for both children and adults. The kids can be kept busy at the arcade and there's a bar upfront with multiple flat screen TV's. There's also a large dining area in the back for large parties. The food was average at best. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and most of them were lukewarm like the nachos. Some of us had entrees like the burger and Chicken tacos. The feedback was it was ok. I ordered a Maker's Mark specialty cocktail and had to send it back because it was full of ice and very watered down. I barely tasted the alcohol. The 2nd version was a little better. Went here with some old during the first opening week and layout of the place was great and they have a parking garage for free. They have a good amount of games and the place area is a little smaller than other Dave and busters locations in MD but still it could hold a lot of people. As for the bar I ordered this frozen watermelon margarita and chips and guac, the waiter let us order like 10 mins before late night happy hour and still give us the discount so I thought it was cool. The only complain I have about this place was during Wednesday night you have to be over 18 to go in, you can bring people under 18 with you but you have to be older than 25. I mean I can understand being older than 21 because of alcohol and stuff but 25........ some people already start building families at like 22 smh read more
