When I ordered, Mary Beth asked exactly how I wanted my steak cooked. I explained that I like it somewhere between medium-rare and medium, as long as it's still pink inside. When my steak arrived, Mary Beth took one look at it and thought it might be a little overcooked. Before serving it, she asked me to cut into it and make sure it was right. While it was still somewhat pink, it was a little drier than I prefer. I was prepared to eat it anyway, but she immediately insisted on having it remade. The second steak was perfect and absolutely worth the wait. It was tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly the way I wanted it. Honestly, it was a 20 out of 10! It had me doing a happy dance at the bar, and I'm still thinking about it days later. WARNING: Be extremely careful with your credit card at Dave & Buster's Summerlin. I opened a tab at the bar and was told they needed to physically hold my credit card while the tab remained open. I already felt uncomfortable with that, and unfortunately, what happened next validated my concern. When I went to close my tab, staff could not locate my credit card for approximately 15 minutes. The bartender eventually told me that her manager had taken my card "to the back." While they had my credit card in their possession, I began receiving multiple fraudulent purchase attempts on that same credit card totaling close to $1,000. Given the timing and the fact that my card was out of my possession and could not be located for an extended period while in the custody of Dave & Buster's staff, I am extremely concerned that my card information was compromised there. I will be filing a police report and reporting the incident through the appropriate corporate channels. My advice to anyone visiting this location: do not allow them to hold your credit card. It's a great deal - for $149 (for the platinum pass) you get unlimited play through September 8 plus you can earn up to 2000 tickets per week which reset on Mondays. For some reason they didn't offer this pass during the spring, although they did during the winter. Thus, we didn't come as much during the spring. The platinum pass has no blackout dates and also includes 25% off food and non-alcoholic beverages. Overall, it's a great deal! We decided to have dinner before playing, and we were happy to see an updated menu. It was happy hour, so I enjoyed a couple of their tropical "dangerous waters" cocktails for the low price of $7 per drink. We tried the "cheesy spinach dip" appetizer. It was actually good, and this is coming from someone who is not a big fan of cheese. I tried the teriyaki steak entree which comes with "frizzled onions" and loaded mashed potatoes. I was actually impressed! The steak was actually fairly tender (not a filet mignon tender, but not bad!). I really enjoyed the pineapple slices, and the teriyaki sauce was not too overwhelming. The loaded potatoes were also really good. The portion size was overall just right! We were curious about the bananas foster pie, but we decided to try that next time. Very clearly racist security. Literally physically stopped my friends and I from entering. We were all dressed in shorts or leggings and tee shirts, nothing crazy. We're 3/4 over 30 years old. No reason to stop us, definitely not as aggressively as he did. We walked in as one larger group, but we were two separate families who were seated separately and ordering separately. My family and I were four people sitting in a booth, while my son and his friends were seated at another table. At our booth, we ordered only for the four people sitting there. Right away, we were told that automatic gratuity had to be added to our check because we walked in with the other group. This made absolutely no sense to me. If there are only four people sitting at my booth, we're ordering only for those four people, and we have our own check, why would another table be included in determining gratuity simply because we know them? I asked several times because I genuinely wanted to understand the policy, but I never received an explanation that made sense. Eventually, they didn't add the gratuity to our check because my son's table had purchased one of the food/game promotions and didn't have a regular food check. Somehow, this was presented almost as though they were doing us a favor by not charging it. I wasn't asking for a favor. I was asking for the policy to make sense. To top it off, not once did a manager have the decency to even swing by our booth and check on us. Not during the gratuity confusion and not even after my spinach dip came out completely cold and had to be sent back. Our food also came out at completely different times, so overall the dining experience was extremely mediocre. I would never put all of this on our server, Navdav. I actually felt he was doing the best he could with what he had. At the end of the day, a team is only as good as its management, and that's where this experience really fell short. If a guest is questioning a policy, food is being sent back, and there's clearly frustration at the table, that's when a manager should step in. Woody, the manager, never once came over. I have no problem paying gratuity and absolutely believe in taking care of service staff. My issue was the lack of logic behind how it was being applied, the mediocre dining experience, and most importantly, the complete lack of management presence. Dave and Busters - Summerlin My husband and I took advantage of their Winter Pass and got to play a lot of games. It was a really wonderful package. Downside was that we didn't rack up a ton of points, but we had so much fun that neither of us really cared. Our favorites are air hockey, skeeball, Yahtzee, gone fishin', knocking down clowns, getting a ball in a milk jug, ring toss, and one of the basketball games. We also both enjoy the coin slot machines where you get a lot of points if you cause enough coins to fall - it's a lot of fun. We also had dinner and I got a really great deal for a fish & chips and a $10 power play card. The fish was only okay, but the fries were great. My husband enjoyed his meal too. Downside? The service was slow. We got our food & drinks quickly once a server finally came over to us. We waited about 15 minutes. To be fair, there were a LOT of people there - at the bar & there to eat. Being able to play games and enjoy a full meal all in one place is such a great combo. You can sit down, place your order with your server, and then go off and play games while you wait. Our kids were given Dave & Buster's arcade passes through the school for a fundraiser they participated in. When I walked in during the weekend, there was no one in front so we had to go to the bar area. We had to wait for 20 minutes until someone could help us!! This year I refused to cook Thanksgiving dinner. I just wanted to relax and let someone else do the cooking for a change. Since we really don't have any close family or friends nearby, our only option was to find somewhere local to eat. We called several restaurants in the Valley, and were happy to hear that this Dave & Busters location was open Thanksgiving Day (no reservations needed). Our party of 5 were greeted and seated right away. Besides us, there were a few other diners in the restaurant at the time, so service was pretty fast. Our server was upbeat and very welcoming. She took our orders and also offered some menu suggestions. She knew the menu very well which was a plus. Our food arrived hot and fresh. Everything tasted great. Not exactly a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. But it worked out and everyone was satisfied. We were all very surprised when the Manager came over to our table and thanked us for coming in on Thanksgiving. It was very genuine and made us all feel good. He handed me a couple of business cards for BOGO Free Play in the arcade which was a nice surprise. You can really get a lot of entertainment and improve skills if you know how to figure out how to win the games and which games provide the best ticket value for the credits needed to play. Rashad has been here when we visit and he has been always friendly and helpful to us when a machine malfunctions. I honestly don't know how he keeps up with all the demand here especially it get so busy. I see the staff wiping down equipment and tidying up all the time. The bathrooms are well maintained and overall it is a very lighthearted ambiance here. As for food it's great if you're wanting a snack to fuel you or a few drinks for liquid courage to take on some new challenges. Some of our favorites are the angry birds and Star Trek coin pushers.
