If you are reading reviews about Dave & Buster's then you probably have no clue what kind of an establishment this is...there are all kinds of fancy ways to describe it, for those read the other reviews...:) "Our" Dave & Busters is located in the Providence Place Mall above the food court. They offer all sorts of party packages and cooperate meeting areas. Tons of seating and a billion TVs. Ok, maybe not a billion, but there are a lot of TVs. This is a great place for the downtown workers to go and unwind after work. There is a full bar and of course games. Video games, interactive games, brain games, simple games, kid games, and games where you can take your aggression out on instead of your boss! The food was the big surprise to me. I have yet to have anything bad. The food has always been great. Cooked to order, hot, fresh, and enjoyable. I have been here for lunch, parties, and on busy weekend nights and the food has been terrific from burgers to salad, to apps, to dinner. The big down side like others have touched on is the price. The games are expensive to play as it is based on a points system and a $20 bill doesn't seem to last long. Games are fun as most are, but expect to put down some serious cash if you bring your family. Food prices are average as well. Bar prices seem a little above average for alcohol but this place has it niche in the world and going every once and awhile is fun for all. read more

Everything was great. It's a fun place! Lots of games, the food was excellent and our server was awesome.

All around ok place and we had fun, but needs to improve. They told us to find a table and notify the wait staff using the kiosk/barcode thing - the only empty tables we were able to find were filthy with food and spilled soda on them. The automated ordering was also very confusing, and when the waitress came over she didn't bring any silverware even after our food arrived, when we had to ask her to bring us some forks/knives. The steak was pretty good, but the asparagus was extremely tough/crunchy and the side of mashed potatoes was very small. Honestly for almost $25 the entree was overpriced. Other than that it wasn't bad, but the dining experience has definitely declined since the last time I was there 7 or 8 years ago. read more

Entertaining as I would expect, but the restaurants service was very very below even the crappiest standards. The fries were cold, the wait was excruciating, and the service despite polite was extraordinarily slow by any expected level. My son had a good time playing the games, but again just don't bother eating at dave and busters. Perhaps that's the reason the one where we live in Nashville TN is no longer opened? So in short this location was poorly staffed, poorly ran, and if we return and that is a big if. We will only play games and leave. I am reviewing this solely based on our waiter. The food was fine the atmosphere is what you expect, but the waiter made the experience exceptional. My daughter and I were in Providence during a spring break road trip. We wanted to do a little retail therapy so we stopped into Dave and Busters to sit down and grab a bite. Jimmy had a great sense of humor and had us laughing from the minute we sat down. He provided top notch service and offered the perfect suggestions. We travel all over the country and eat at hundreds of restaurants with amazing waitstaff but he is likely one of the best we have ever encountered. Thank you so much for the amazing service. Chuckie Cheese for adults. Menus are sticky like Friendlys, and they don't serve ice cream. Large assortment of games - with most spitting out tickets as reward. Had two kids (8 and 10) and they loved it. We spent close to $100 to get food and two loaded cards and they played for 3 hrs and ended up w/ 3400 tickets. Food was okay - broiled salmon, rice and veggies, small apple pecan salad, double cheeseburger/fries, and chicken fingers/fries. Buying a meal from a select menu entitled dinner to come along w/ a game card for use. We ate while watching the kids collect their coupons and play the games. Eventually, they sat down long enough for some chicken fingers. Very clean bathrooms. Went on a Sunday and the place was kind of deserted, which was good so we didn't need to watch them. We planted ourselves at a table near the door and they ran back and forth. Son loved it and wants to have bday party here. We will probably come back, but I would not go w/out kids. I could find better food choices and watching grown men playing kids games is kind of a sad testimony for video game addiction. Sunday it was mostly families with some girl groups there. No one was watching the big screen for games and there was some radio station hosting an event in one of the banquet rooms. Great time today at D&B. We had an awesome waiter... Christian. Food was good. Love the appetizer; Pretzels dogs and my son's Cheeseburger was excellent. Dave and Busters is a pretty fun arcade, for kids or adults. I've come here quite a few times and even had a birthday party here one year. They have a private room for parties, which is fun! You get away from the noise and crowds while you enjoy food and company before playing games. When you walk in, you can either be seated at a table or bar for food and drinks. Or, purchase a game card with "tokens" on it to play games. They usually have a deal with dinner and game cards too. There are a couple of bars as well. There's also an area with TVs and pool tables! There are many different games to play, and they rotate some out every so often with new ones. They also usually offer 4 free games to try out! (Just the first game is free). It varies, but they're usually newer games. Tonight they had a Star Wars Pods game that was free. It was so much fun though, we played many games of it, not caring how many points we used! I'm pretty sure I could have played that one game alone, all night. Definitely a fun night out for either fun with the family, or letting your inner kid out with friends! read more

Dave & Buster's is a classic family-friendly activity that is always fun, no matter your age. I had a coupon for unlimited non-redemption games as well as a number of old cards with game points on them. It did take a while to get in, but the experience was well worth it. It was so easy to spend 2+ hours there... I could have definitely spent a couple more! While I'm not usually keen on eating at an arcade, I did notice that they have an enormous bar area. Sort of hilarious. There are so many different types of games -- you'll never get bored. I usually like the shooter games the most, but there were some weird ones that I particularly enjoyed like the baseball pitching, basketball Connect 4, and many more. Whether you're here for a casual date or just want to grab a few drinks with a group of friends, Dave & Buster's is ideal. Would I have gone if I didn't have the coupon or the old game cards? Probably not until a few more paychecks... Nevertheless, I truly had a great time so I can't really complain. I won't forget to shout out their Dippin' Dots machine that we stopped by on the way out. This Dave and Busters is in the Providence Mall, above the food court. This is the closest one from Newport. The layout of the area seemed a little cramped. They did have a bunch of games. I played a few of the shooting games and the one that was off was their Time Crisis 4 and one more I forgot. Definitely needs to be re-calibrated. Their fruit ninja game was slow to respond to hand swipes, which makes you miss lots of the points. As with all Dave and Busters locations, they are all packed. For a table of 9, it took them almost 2 hours to call my name, when the door server told us only 30-40 minutes. We eventually found an open table at the bar area around the 1 hour mark, so at least we were able to eat sooner than 2 hours. I ordered the Philly cheese steak roll. The roll itself was good. Nice and hot. I also swapped the regular fries for sweet potato fries. It was luke warm, which was sad. read more

The place is well conveniently located in the mall in the very downtown. I went for the first time on March 1 for my stepdaughter's birthday. The food was awesome, our waitress was amazing and drinks mmmmm!! Since then I've been going almost weekly with my young son and had an splendid time. Today was pack as every Wednesday the games are half priced and also was the first time I went on Wednesday (son is in vacation and better do something cool). Even though they might expected a lot of traffic there's no excuse for an unsanitary, mess, filthy bathroom. The big roll of toilet paper were place out of their normal container and placed over the toilet.... just few drops away from being inside the toilet. The trash can was flooded and papers over the floor. You know guys... you have an awesome place, great clientele, and great future... don't mess it up with these grossness. I came here for lunch with my wonderful lady. It is here that I allowed her to beat me at air hockey and mario kart and some other shooting game. I totally let her win as it is impossible for me to lose at these games to her. She seems to think she had the skill to beat me. But I am going to reiterate it again, I let her win those three games... We had the sliders and fish and chips. Although the food was decent and the place was empty we didn't see our waitress for the entire meal. After we were done eating to took another 30 minutes to get the check. D&B of Providence RI, I give you 4 stars for the wonderful experience I had of being able to let the woman I love beat me at some of your games. We asked the lady to be seated for dinner at the gaming area, & she told us to seat ourselves. There were 5 waitresses working in this small 6 booth & 2 table area, but NO clean tables. So we had to go back. Where the man told us we now had to sit in the dining area. We ordered food about 10 minutes after being seated, but waited about 45 minutes. It finally came out, but the food wasnt good at all. I got the sirloin steak. The steak was undercooked, not what I asked for. The mashed potatoes were ice cold & my broccoli was rock hard. I've been to over 30 locations in the United States and although the location is a decent size and the games were pretty good, the service is literally the worst I've experienced at any Dave & Buster's. I came to this location on 10/21/2017 and decided to sit at a table near the bar/games. *Warning* Do not do this. We were completely ignored and when I flagged down a waitress she said your server will be right over. I flagged down the next server who repeated the same thing. A THIRD server who said the same thing. Now we've been sitting here about 20 minutes, 3 different servers and no one can just take our order?? Thankfully a manager came over and took our order and the food was out quickly, it was correct, and it tasted good. For these reasons I couldn't give this place 1 star. Now we're waiting for the check. I'm flagging people down. Server will be right over. OMG. This place isn't that busy right now. Took forever to get the check, the guy basically ran away because we're trying to hand over the credit card now I'm up trying to give this credit card to anyone, no one will take it, your server will be right back. We had out twins birthday party here today. When we arrived (before they opened) a manager came out and took us to our private room immediately. They had the pop (yes, I'm from the midwest) set up on a table in the large vertical dispensers and the tables were all set with balloons. Our server came over immediately and started taking the adult drink orders. We also received all of the wrist bands and game cards for the kids. We wanted to add more adult platters and our server was super accommodating. When the food arrived it was clear that they give you WAY TOO MUCH food for the kids! I am not complaining at all as there is a flat fee for the kids food. In retrospect the adults probably could've eaten from the kids leftovers and been just fine! Everyone had a great time and the staff here was uber helpful! Now, I can tell you that this place is not cheap!!! However, you get what you pay for! read more

8/29/23 at 1130am The last time we came it was an amazing experience. This time the second we walked in we were greeted by a hostess that hates her job. First impressions and all...?? If we didn't have such a great experience before and we weren't there for our son's bday, I could have easily left because of her. She told us to "just go seat yourselves at the arcade. There is a long (btw high table) table in there",while looking at my daughter in a wheelchair...smh. We had 11 people in our party, 7 of which were our children 2 that need different levels of accessibility. I walked back upfront to tell her that wouldn't do. She huffed and rolled her eyes. I told her the last time the manager sat us on the low table right outside the arcade. She said there is no server there, I then told her 2 of my children could not sit in the high tables that we needed different accommodations and that we would take the low table. She finally got up and came to help us... Ridiculous. The manager ended up taking our orders and the service was amazing after that. We are not a difficult party. We are patient and understanding but that I literally had to tell her I had children that physically(she could see the wheelchair) couldn't sit where she was telling us to sit kinda took some of the fun out of our experience and day. read more

Went here with a friend of mine for a girls night out. Fortunately, we were able to go on a Wednesday night when the games are half price (otherwise the gaming prices are ridiculous). Over the last maybe 8 years, I have gone back to try their food 3 times and every time was a disappointment. Foamy and watered down drinks and disgusting flavorless food. I'm not saying I expect quality food at this place, but please make the food edible! Was really hungry so tried to push through at least 1/3 of the dish but wish I hadn't. After ditching a Restaurant in North Providence (see my Camp Nowhere Review) we headed on over to the good old D&B. Wow, what a difference in service. The food especially, I ordered the half rack of ribs and fall off the bone was the last thing I had expected, actually I was weary of it being too over-cooked. The bar services is a bit slow but that's kind of expected just not on a Monday night. Tyrone our waiter, was super kind and gave us the individual attention you'd expect to receive as a customer in any establishment centered around customer service. Lastly, I always enjoy arcade games bit either way there was no going bored in this place. The food is an all American bar menu. Good for eating while grabbing drinks ( there's an awesome food court right outside, so you're really only eating here because you want a drink) our group sat at a bar table and as more friends came in we asked to be accommodated to a bigger table. I get it, not ideal, but we came out here for a service and food so we could avoid a birthday dinner at home. We had people in our group who were very understanding of the waitress and waiters check since they had ordered separately. What I found disturbing is that the waitress seemed so frustrated with our group and when we asked for waters it really felt like we were asking for the impossible. I believe a manager came over to check in as a courtesy, another table asked to speak to a manager (we did not). I tried to be upbeat because I didn't want to discourage the bday person but we all whispered at the attitude we seemed to be getting. I don't think it was very full since we've been to the Dave and busters in Braintree and Danvers and they get PACKED. This place is open late and was close to a friend who lives nearby, but I will not be recommending anyone to come here for a celebratory dinner, I'd rather suggest another location than to feel like I'm bothering the wait staff or come once everyone's already eaten. It's so far for me to justify that kind of service. On top of that have to leave a tip, eh. Everything here is a hit or miss. I've had pretty decent food here, and pretty burned food here. My quesadilla was great, but my son's mini hot dogs were burned, burned, burned, on the bottom. Not talking a little char, we're talking straight up black. I wouldn't eat it, let alone expect my 6 year old to eat it. Someone else in my party and I ordered the same menu item, but I had omitted an ingredient in mine, and the server bringing them out had no idea an ingredient had purposefully been omitted in one and just started handing out the plates. Luckily, my omission was a preference, but if someone has an allergy and you don't know what you're handing them, it can be a big problem. Service is also completely questionable. There are some fairly decent servers and some not so great ones. To compare nights again, in our experience a few weeks ago, it took a LONG time to get the food (I put this on the kitchen, not the server) but she was attentive enough, and friendly, and had a decent sense of humor. Our second time, we were sat and not even acknowledged for nearly 20 minutes. No drink orders, not even an "I'll be right with you." We were passed by so many times, by so many different servers, and not ONE said a single thing. Perhaps this is disorganization in the house when assigning tables, I'm not certain, but it's very frustrating to the customer. I do have one question - why have a "sports lounge" and a "dining room" if both are going to be blasting the TV so loudly you can't hear the person next to you? I was nearly shouting my order and the server still couldn't hear me because the TVs were so loud. I'd think that if you wanted sports, you'd go to the sports lounge, and if you didn't want the TV blaring in your ear, you'd eat in the dining room, but there's no escape. Also, the volume varies a great deal. During my last time here, it was obscenely loud; a few weeks ago when we went it was loud, but manageably so, as in, I did not have to shout my order and we were able to carry on a conversation, albeit, in louder than usual voices. Saturday afternoon birthday party for a kid. The party was located in a quiet room off the main arcade Staff was great and attentive. Games were good, kids had fun. Adults had some fun also. Two stars were for the food , alcohol drinks and bathrooms. Food was horrendous. Served up cold - french fries - dry burgers/ sliders. I know the extra platters of food cost $50 each. Would have been worth it if they came out from the kitchen hot... the crudités and the cheese platter were decent My vodka drink was a weak splash of titos and club soda. Busy Saturday should have more attention to the bathrooms. Maybe hire an attendant for your busiest days knowing your going to have hundreds of people throughout the day. read more

The idea of this place is grand. Eating, drinking, and arcade games, for Adults. The reality was a bit different. Number One: The place is in the biggest Mall I've ever been to, and you have park in a garage that was designed by drunken monkeys. Then, you have to go wind through most crowded mall you have ever seen. You fight your way through a really deranged food court, go up the escalators, and get to Dave and Buster's. Now Dave and Buster's is supposed to be mostly for Adults, which brings me to- Number Two: Parents getting loaded at the bar, and leaving their sugar crazed offspring to run rampant through the arcade. Adults are supposed to accompany kids at all times. Oh, really. I found an 18 month old darling girl wandering around, while her pop killed Aliens. There's tons of skeevy guys bellying up to 'tween girls, and an adult/child ratio of 1:8. This place is an Amber Alert breeding ground. I spent more time monitoring kids, than their parents did. Number 3: I found 3 games worth playing. Crap arcade games, for the most part. And the photo booth would not register my face for a picture merge between me and my friends. Had a Moscow Mule that wasn't a Moscow Mule. Very limited menu options at time of visit, and little if any options for typical "bar food" to choose from. Got the loaded nachos and they were pretty good. Their entree options were extremely limited, but I got the Hawaiian Crispy Chicken sandwich with truffle fries (an extra 3$ that wasn't worth it.) Money Sucking Beast But first a couple of true stories. First: The men's room. You would think playing video games would improve a guy's aim. But, no, there are puddles to avoid. Extra funny was the little kid pissing in the urinal while resting his forehead against it. Hey kid! you have pubes on your forehead. Another good story: Here's a lady, not drunk, riding the motorcycle racing game in a mini skirt. Make that a MICRO Skirt. A show-n-tell event. (Her mother will be relieved to know that she was wearing clean underwear.) Anyone who was there can tell you. The Actual Review of D&B: The way the games work is by card, not cash. You go to a booth and put money on a card and use that to play the games. This is very tricky. The cost of many of the games is not shown. On some of them, you have to divide the number of units the game costs into the remainder you have on your card. They don't use even numbers or rounded decimals so sometimes you're playing a game that costs 8.42 units. Then you calculate what that is in actual US currency and your head explodes. You take a break from all the heavy thinking and see how the mini skirt lady is doing. Lookin' good. The old standard of 25, 50 cents a dollar is a thing of the past. The short answer is that twenty bucks goes real fast. You either make it a quick visit or prepare to burn through green. The place is almost always over crowded and you usually have to wait for a game. Staff Big fat slob of an employee can't (actually WON"T) fix the horsey game. All this fatass has to do is take the extra balls out of one lane and distribute them in the other lanes. He's standing right there in front of the game. We tell him what's wrong, he shrugs and then sweaty fatass walks away. Right here pal. Had a fun playing the car race game where five of us were able to join the same race and smash the crap out of each other. It was a fireball finish. read more

For me: the only thing D & B is good for is killing time before a movie starts. 20, 30 minutes - tops. At that point I either suffer a sensory overload... or go broke on the 20 spot I've topped off on my game card. Coming here for a Sat night birthday celebration was torture. I thought I had a brilliant idea to bring an 11-year-old gaming companion to experience some daytime D & B on a gloomy day, right when they opened. It's everyone's brilliant idea - the place turns into a pre-adolescent Foxwoods training ground at 11 AM. It made me kind of ill watching kids congregate around the lamest, pricey games of chance that have high prize output, little greedy eyes bulging as the machine vomits reams of tickets into their cups. C'mon, at least whacking moles and freezing rapidly moving lights allows for *some* application of skill - some of these games are: press a button, see how many tickets you get. The prizes really suck ... and I have a weird affection for junk-y plastic crap made in China. United Skates of America (another total assault on the senses) at least gets the prizes right. Things I do like are the little tables all over the place so you can put your beer down to play a game, and the old school games intermixed for nostalgia. (But where is the Galaga/Ms. Pac-man?! Hopefully just moved and I couldn't find it) So... for being expensive and irritating, Dave and Buster's still serves a purpose every now and again. Was there for a bachelor party dinner. Thing is, we drank in the van, all the way from Tewksbury to this destination. By the time we got off the van, I wasn't feeling so fresh needless to say. I don't remember much aside from the service being good enough to put up with our shenanigans. I do recall that the place was full of video games, none of which I got to play. The food was mediocre at best, I remember taking just enough bites so that it could absorb whatever alcohol was rushing through my bloodstream. And before we knew it, we were gone, off to more random adventures throughout the city. Based on a prior experience I've had at a Dave and Buster's in Philadelphia, the place can be fun if you: 1. Aren't intoxicated 2. Aren't eating there 3. Aren't in Providence Although they were nice enough to accomodate us with our very own, gigantic table in a corner of the arcade room, the place just wasn't all that great - and it was also very loud, mostly due to the kids running around everywhere. On the upside though, the place is affordable, even for large groups. read more

Oh D & B how you disappointed me the night of my 21st. I had my first legal drink here and it was good and it was strong but alas it just didn't feel right. My girlfriend brought me here at midnight so I could drink it up and play some awesome video games. The bartender was all but friendly, and sadly he did nothing but acknowledge my birthday. I'm not 100% sure what I was expecting but, I was definitely expecting more than "happy birthday here is your drink" and he walked away. While we waited for it to be midnight I also got a cheese quesadilla (which was not on the menu there was only chicken) and I was charged the same price as a chicken one, which annoys me but most places do it. After taking a couple bites I stopped, then continued to eat solely because I was hungry. I would definitely not recommend the food, and that's really the nicest way I can put that. The atmosphere was fun and you could tell it is a good place to bring your friends, but I would NOT recommend going here for any sort of celebration. That being said, I did drink a decent amount while we were there. Sadly, this place is less then cheap but not too expensive. It is certainly expensive for how much alcohol you get though. When I finished my first drink, my friend and I went up to the bar to get a Jägerbomb (as they are one of the few places that sell them, eight dollars each...) and had to flag down the bar tender and than wait a good five minutes just for him to pour it, mind you five minutes is not a long time but there was only about two other people at the bar at the time so I'm not sure what he was doing... After getting one more Jägerbomb we went out to play some games and over all I had a good time. As I said before I would not recommend this for someone who is looking to go out on a birthday, or some other special occasion because the staff doesn't seem to take to much notice. read more

First we come to not work or be on our phone and they treated us like shit once we didn't want to use our phone for ordering but wanted an actual menu, second took 1.5 hours to get 3 out of 4 of our meals which was 3 burgers and a different kind of sandwich also nachos we ordered for appetizer and it came with our food not as an appetizer which is how we ordered! When a different person came with our food he read off medium well and we stated nobody here had medi well we all ordered medium and he put the dishes on the table like we didn't say anything, then when one of our meals did come the waitress said sorry somebody else ordered the same thing and it went to them. I understand there's a shortage of workers however there were literally 3 tables for the waitresses, it is Wednesday and this venture started at 3 so I highly recommend picking somewhere else! read more

The ultimate sports bar and arcade. Came with my son and grandkids on a Wednesday night because the games in the arcade are half price. Which is a great thing because you can go through some serious cash playing these games that last all of a minute!! The arcade is very loud, very bright, tons of games and decent prizes for the tickets. Dinner was ok. We ordered the nachos and pigs in a blanket to share between my son and I. The nachos were huge, but barely had nothing on them. More plain chips than anything. I complained to our waiter and he brought us more queso sauce to put on them, but it didn't help much. He ended up taking them off the bill. We ordered another plate of dogs, which were quite good. The kids ordered chicken fingers with sweet potato fries and the Mac & cheese from the kids menu. They ate every bite, so I guess they liked it. Bill came and was still $35, even with the nachos taken off. All soft drinks were $3 each, even the kids little cup of lemonade, ridiculous ! Our waiter was fabulous. No complaints there at all. I had a great time. Was disappointed with the food, and the cost for the night is pretty expensive. Worst experience ever never laying a foot in your establishment I live in Middletown RI and could of went to our local arcade but instead I drove and hour to your Providence location we were having fun spent 200$ on games then my son won 8 of the star trek cards which won him 2500 tickets so we went to the counter to turn the cards in and the lady went scanned all 8 cards swiped the power play card and said we were all set but when we went to check the balance the 2500 tickets weren't on it so we went back and told the situation and called a manager worst manager ever he kept asking me which girl did the transaction and we didn't know because we were all required to wear mask and he basically kept calling us lairs and could do nothing never spending another penny at Dave and busters again I want a refund of what I spent which is 177$ read more
