I was in the area and wanted some hot chicken and when I got here the main doors where shut but honestly the place was really clean big and a lot of seating. The service was better than other Dave's that I been too, they even took the food to our table which we don't see much of that in fast food or at least where I've gone. I got 2 sliders with cheese and a side of fries and also got their blueberry slushie it came with some pop rocks and some 3D glasses pretty cool if you ask me. While she was ordering, I completed the check-in process on Yelp, answered about 15 questions, and showed the cashier. However, he responded, "That's not how it works. You need to leave a five-star review." I pointed out that the sign clearly said "check in with Yelp" for the drink, and I asked, "How can I leave a five-star review without trying the food first?" He repeated, "You have to leave a five-star review." The flyer didn't mention anything about reviews, but we ate anyway. The food was hot and fresh, so I decided to leave a review--but not five stars, because of the false advertising. When I went to take a picture of the sign for proof, it was gone. The manager, who was walking around cleaning, admitted with a laugh, "It wasn't supposed to be there." The slider was large. Soft bun with a large piece of fried chicken and slaw and pickles. I got mild spice on all my chicken. Really tender and juicy chicken. The seasoning was indeed mild, but so was the flavor. Very subtle seasoning. The tender was also huge, and on a slice of white bread with some dipping sauce on the side. Again, tender and juicy chicken, very subtle flavor in the batter/seasoning. The dipping sauce was basically mayo, with a little of the mild spice mixed in. Pretty bland. The pickles were amazing and really offset all the fried and rich flood. I liked Dave's for the atmosphere, the friendly help, and the large portions. The chicken was good but not craveable. It so juicy on the inside and so crispy on the outside, and the fries are cooked to perfection, just wish I got the hot choice instead of medium cause there was not much heat at all. The presentation was not the same, and whatever hot seasoning they placed on the chicken was gritty. Low budget here, and straight up horrible all the way around. Every time I come here, the weight is about 20 minutes. It's definitely not fast food timing. The food is great, if you're in to hot, spicy fried chicken. Do not waste your time going through the drive-through. I did this twice already and ended up waiting in drive-through for 35 minutes. No joke, no exaggeration! I dont understand people's hype about this place. It has thousands of reviews and 5 stars in LA. I spent 17$ to get 2 chicken strips and some fries and plain white bread. Like... The COGS on all that is probably 3-4$ at most. Meaning they got 13-14$ extra for free profit. This 2 strip combo should be 7.99$ lol. It's just never worth it to go out and buy fast food anymore. I waited 10 min for my order which is ok but then it comes out wrong I ordered it with no sauce and guess what's on there. I then send it back and i don't know if they were being lazy but they didn't remove the bottom bread which had sauce on it.
