I got the 2 piece mild tenders just to see if it was any good and was blown away!! I hope they open one of these in Scottsdale. The flavor was incredible, the chicken was juicy, the spice was just right for me, and the pirtion was huge!!! I had leftovers today and it tastes and is still tender left over. Food is really good. A little overpriced. The slaw is too sweet for the sandwich. It takes a really long time to get your food. It could definitely use some changes to make it a better experience. Absolute best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I visited a friend in Florida and he couldn't stop talking about it but we never got a chance to go, thankfully I found the one in Gilbert so once I came back I had to give them a try. The chicken was perfectly crispy but still very juicy, not dry or overcooked at all like you may see elsewhere. I'm not big on sauce so I can't speak to that but the fries were also great with a little seasoning, and everything was still hot after the ride home. I was a fan of some of the other local options but this is the only one I will go back to now, there is no competition. read more

Ordered on DoorDash. Got the 2 sliders (1 no heat, the other mild) w/ fries and a side of macaroni. The sliders are huge. Definitely only needed 1. They were really good. Would definitely recommend getting mild or spicier because the flavor is great and works really well with the sauce. Macaroni was just ok. Nothing special super special. I visited Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time today, eyes full of hope and wonder and a stomach full of nothing but space for food. Upon entering the establishment, my gaze was met by a heat selection gracing the top of the menu board- the Reaper, poised as the pinnacle of self-induced digestive distress. Eager to learn more, I asked the employee at the counter just how hot this heat could be, and I was advised that I would have to sign a waiver and release of liability in order to consume such a beast, and I was instantly delighted. The prospect of "bodily injury, property damage, emotional distress, or even death" was a siren song to my ears, as I had not experienced such a dangerous meal in quite some time. During the trip back, my mind was racing. Should I have ordered this on my lunch break on a Thursday? Should I put down plastic sheeting around my office desk in case of emergency? The possibilities were horrifying yet equally tantalizing. As I reached my seat, prepared to embark upon a trip with no return, my coworkers gathered around to witness history. I opened the box, and much alike the Ark of the Covenant, we were instantly in awe of wait lay inside. I was fully prepared to have my face melted off in classic 1980s fashion as I slowly lifted the sandwich from its cradle, reaching ever closer to my mouth. In a brief moment of perfect clarity, I accepted my fate and made peace with the potential result that would leave my dog fatherless and my car forever parked in an office lot. The moment was finally upon me- time to experience true enlightenment and eventual regret. I placed the perfectly assembled sandwich betwixt my jaws and bit down, knowing there was no hope for return. Just as soon as the sensation of capsaicin reached my tongue, that lingering light in my eyes vanished and was quickly replaced with a void. This was no beast, no bringer of doom nor was it a great evil to be vanquished. It was simply a chicken sandwich, marginally hotter than the likes of Frank's Red Hot sauce. A hush fell upon the group, as we realized that we had been misguided, betrayed, and quite effectively bamboozled. The waiver was merely a red herring; in defiance, I chose to take a bigger bite, as surely this was the issue. But alas, the larger bite only proved effective in forcing me to inhale a piece of sandwich, the pain of which was greater than that of the so-called Reaper heat. After finishing my sandwich, I find myself just as empty and unfulfilled as before- simply a shell, disappointed once more. 3/5, would go again. read more

Starting with the building itself, love the decor and the paint job inside. There's a fake box by the cash register that would typically hold a fire extinguisher but instead it holds a rubber chicken, fantastic. With its recent opening, lines were extremely long, but not in a bad way. The staff handled the rush very well. Opted for ordering inside for takeout. Two tenders with fries, a side of cheese fries and a side of mac n cheese. Ordered medium sauce and boy, it packs a punch! The fries were okay, would need to eat in to give an accurate review. The fries became a little soft due to being packed in styrofoam and taken home. Was a tad disappointed in the cheese fries, had just a small drizzle of cheese and it wasn't on the side for takeout. I am a mac n cheese snob but have great things to say about their mac. Want to try again to see if it is less liquidy, still had great taste however! UPDATE TO REVIEW: We recently went in again, and a manager was at the register who was polite and happily greeted us, with a positive attitude. I came to Dave's this evening for the first time. I ordered the Slider and fries combo and also the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was pretty good and had a nice seasoning in it to make it stand out from your typical boxed Mac and cheese. Portion was a little small for being a few bucks. The sliders were pretty good but nothing for me to be super excited about. The sauce was good but kind of a milder version of Canes sauce. I chose medium heat and it wasn't anything to be scared of at all was nice and mild but had a slight kick of spice and flavor. I like that the dry rub was cooked in to the chicken and not sprinkled on after being cooked that was nice. Overall it was decent for fast food quality but I do feel that I shouldn't have paid $23 plus tip for this meal. Amazing chicken if you like hot chicken. There are other good chicken places...but if you like a little heat or a lot of heat this is the place! I gave it a try today for the first time and thought it was just ok. I got the medium spice in a 1 tender 1 slider meal and the spice was good with nice flavor. The fries were nicely spiced. When compared to Canes, I will say that Canes is a better value with much friendlier and faster service. The toast and sauce are also better at Canes in my opinion. My coworker and I tried Dave's for the 1st time because of all the hype on social media and it was good. We had the chicken sandwich and fries. Chicken is well cooked and I love the slaw they put on the sandwich.. The one thing that absolutely failed on was their house secret dipping sauce. The only thing we tasted was honey ,It was disgusting! We wanted to run across the street to Raising Canes for their dipping sauce. They definitely need to come up with a better sauce. read more
