We got medium spice and mild spice. The medium was the perfect kick, mild is more of a flavoring than a "spice". I really liked both - just depends on your mood! The slaw and Dave's sauce on the slider is the perfect combo with the bun. We went 3 times in one week for these sliders! I will say the chicken on its own, isnt my favorite. It's very much a dry rub style of chicken and it's a little too coated for me. But in a sandwhich with all the fixings it's great. Especially the pickles. The shakes were pretty good too. This is the most flavorful, juicy chicken I've had and they completed nailed the spicy chicken sandwich. Finally a location in Sparks!! Placed an online order this afternoon to avoid the crazy crowds. Still a little bit of a wait. My estimated time for pick up was 10 minutes we waited closer to 30. Absolutely love the atmosphere of this place, the color of the wall decor pops and the menu is simple & easy to pick from, yet still many options to come back and try something new every time! Heard how amazing the food was and had to check it out for myself. I got the two chicken strips (no heat) and fries, my daughter got a chicken slider (medium heat) and a chicken strip (hot) and fries and my husband got two sliders (extra hot). I can't handle heat so mine was perfect, I put honey on it and dipped in the amazing Daves sauce and loved it. The fries are really good, i personally don't usually like seasoned fries so I wish it was an option but I still ate them. My daughter can handle heat, thought the medium was perfect, she added honey to the sandwich too. Her hot chicken strip was a little much for her and she ate 1/2 and saved half for later, she loved the seasoned fries. Now normally my husband can stand extremely hot, but I've heard about the reaper so I just got him two chicken sandwiches in the very hot and he said it was the perfect amount of heat. I love seeing new places pop up in Reno! We visited at lunch time on a Monday and the line was manageable but definitely got busy! What a great location, and an absolutely fun, bright environment. I had the slider and fries combo - unfortunately I was a wimp and only did the light spice and wish I went spicier. The overall flavor was good on the chicken, I loved the slaw & bun! When I saw the signs for this place going up in November, I was excited. I have heard awesome things about this place. So my son and I went, and we were not disappointed at all. The service was top notch, even though it was busy, the wait to order wasn't very long at all. After I placed the order for my son and I, it only took about 10 minutes, and it was well worth the wait. Both my son and I got the 2 piece combo meal, I had the medium and my son had the hot. Dave's Hot Chicken, an establishment that started in a parking lot in California, later to be a sit down restaurant. I've been seeing a lot of videos of people trying this place, and when I saw one recently open near me, I had to give it try! The Atmosphere: it's amazing! I love the murals and artwork, rubber chickens everywhere you look, and plenty of places to sit. There is seating inside and outside. The Food: the food was delicious! I got the Dave's #1 which includes 2 tenders, 2 slices of bread, side of fries, some pickles, and a side of their signature Dave's sauce. I also got a Strawberry Shake which was very good, it was a little thick so they also give you spoon. Dave's has 7 levels of heat: No spice, Lite Mild, Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, and Reaper. I got the Mild just to see how hot the chicken was here, and it was very tasty but I'm definitely going a little spicier next time! The chicken was well seasoned not too much and very juicy and moist not dry. Their fries are also seasoned as well and they were nice and hot, their sauce was also really good as well. The service: the service was excellent! Everyone there was very welcoming and taking our order quickly, it didn't take too long to get our food either, they give you a thing that vibrates when your order is ready, and you just go up to the pick up next to order line to get your food. Dave's Hot Chicken - Sparks, NV I wasn't a fan of the Dave's I tried in Oregon, so I wasn't expecting much when I walked into this new location in Sparks. But honestly? It completely changed my mind. The chicken here was surprisingly fresh -- like almost restaurant-quality. Super juicy, well-seasoned (I went with a hot spice level), and the coleslaw and bun paired perfectly. The bun was soft, the slaw had a good crunch, and the sauce might be my favorite out of all the hot chicken places I've tried -- better than King, better than Slim Chickens. I'd say Dave's is my new favorite in that category. My only complaint is the portion size. I paid around $14 for one slider and fries, and it felt a little skimpy. Next time I'll go for two sliders for $17, which is a way better deal. Also -- not a fan of the crinkle-cut fries, but they weren't overly saucy or soggy, so they were at least edible. The inside of the place is shockingly nice. High ceilings, cool decor, good lighting -- it honestly feels more like a trendy restaurant than a fast-food joint. They've even got a solid drink machine and an area by checkout for slushie options. Staff was super friendly too. I saw one of the managers giving food to workers outside doing maintenance, which was a cool gesture. Overall, it's a really solid addition to the area, especially since it's right by Target. I plan on coming back pretty regularly. For a fast-casual spot in Sparks, this is a 5/5 -- mainly because the bar is so low around here, and this place actually makes me want to return. read more
